Join Up Dots Podcast (Entrepreneurs)

Today's guest joining us on the show is a man with a zany, positive, outlook to life which is truly refreshing to see.He does things his way, and is as he says "a story addict". If there's one thing that I believe has the power to change the world, it's Story.Stories are how we transmit our deepest beliefs as a species, open our souls to those we care about most, relate to and empathize with people we don't know, and ultimately bring about change by eliciting deep and powerful emotions from our audience. If there's a thread that runs through everything I do, it's a deep yearning to unearth and share stories that cause the listener, viewer, or reader to feel. Whether it's podcast production and sound engineering, photography, or writing, this is the core of my craft and my purpose. If there's one thing I've learned from exploring the world through different mediums, it's that the method of portrayal matters far less than discovering and understanding the heart of a story, and sharing it authentically. We all have a story we're trying to tell, and more than anything I love helping others share their own story with the world. So how do you take the concept of a story and turn this into a business that flourishes? And is this something that was obvious to him, or like most of us it crept up and grabbed him after many ups and downs?Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jeremy EnnsShow HighlightsDuring the show we discussed such deep subjects with Jeremy Enns such as:We discuss how travel has become such a big part of his business, and how he brings it to life whilst still juggling work pressures. How the two of us find the quality of podcasts a big distraction to listening to them. If you are going to be a top podcaster remember that audio is king. Why you should benchmark your business against the best you can in your business. Look at the kings as success leads clues. And lastly...........Jeremy shares his big dot moment, that took him back to a sewing class in school. Strange place for it to happen, but true time and time again on Join Up Dots.

In today’s episode of Join Up Dots, David Ralph answers a series of questions that have been posed by his clients from the last few years. The one caveat to the whole thing was it just had to be one line questions which we can then answer on the show. So here they are, and now you have to listen to the show to get the answers. Hi, David, what is a normal day for you? What is the favourite thing you do through your business, and the worst? Why did you start Join Up Dots podcast? If you could do something different what would it be? What was the biggest mistake you made whilst working online? Is it true that you don’ work on social media? I’ve seen you on twitter and FB that is why I ask? Why do you think that most people fail in online business? Do you make plans for what you want to do moving forward? You are amazing at what you do for us, why did it take you so long to start? How quick do you think success can be made online? Who you you admire most and why? I’ve heard you don’t go to conferences, but everyone else says that are a big part of business. Why don’t you go? Is it true you used to be a keynote speaker?

Today's guest on the show has a similar story to your friendly neighbourhood podcast host, and i guess many of the entrepreneurs that have appeared on the show over the years. So focused on building success, and wealth, he was on the track to becoming in Steve Jobs wise words" The richest man in the cemetery" He used to work 100 hour weeks as an entrepreneur bootstrapping Grasshopper to $30 million in annual revenue, and then Chargify to an investment from Mark Cuban As a serial entrepreneur, he has done what founders dream of. Despite not having nearly enough money, he made a success of his business. In fact he made an amazing success, although in life the ying and yang can't be ignored. There is a balance between life and business which so many people ignore until much too late. As he says "After being overweight, tired and generally unwell as an entrepreneur, I embarked on journey of self-discovery and self optimization that led me to The Human Optimization Framework. He decide to finally start caring about his heath and realised that even committing to the conventional "health diet and lifestyle" (avoiding fried foods, eating a low-fat /whole-foods diet, going to the gym etc) did not work. He sold his company, changed direction and now seems happier than ever. So was the conventional advice correct, but just not correct for him? And where do we all go wrong in business. Putting the money first, or simply working too hard to get it? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. David Hauser. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with David such as: Why it is so rare that anyone who hears their body screaming for us to stop actually pays attention to it. David reveals his process of fasting for 16 to 18 hours of day and the reasons why he feels he gets more energy. How everybody has a business in them by trying to solve their own problems first and foremost. and lastly.......... David share how everyday of normality could well be stripping away our health and benefits without any knowledge that things are getting bad.

Energy Exchanges might not be something that you never really think about, however in today's world of business, busyness and non stop socialising more often than not the world is running on fumes. Tiredness isn't something that takes us over, like an unexpected foe, as it is with us all the time. We keep on going and going, until either something happens to our health which rocks us on our hills, or life forces us to slow down, by taking away those constant demands. I'll give you an example, how many of us work, work, work, until we get to the weekend, and then turn our attention to the chores that we need to do around the house? We dont ever say to ourselves, "This weekend, we will just 100% unplug, relax and get sun on our faces...ready for the coming week" Energy Exchanges work both ways people. You are giving it away so how about reclaiming some of it to work better? Or, we go to the expense to go on vacation with our family and the first five days we just can't switch off from life, until a few days off relaxation appears, before thinking about the world we are about to return to. This is all taking away the energy that we have and need to perform our best work. We cant just give, give, give and expect our lives to get better and better. It's time for some energy exchanges to appear everyday. So how about we turn our focus on ourselves, and simply think this one fact "How can i put the good stuff into my body to make it work better?" This could be a change of diet, stopping boozing, getting more sleep, or my personal favourite  gaining the right type of oxygen. It doesn't take any money, and more often than not will save you cash in the long run. It does take focus and commitment. Since the end of 2018. I have been working on energy exchanges everyday in my life and have never felt better. I dont exercise more (if at all). I dont diet. I do add more sleep, oxygen and rest into my life. I spend twenty minutes per day, split into two periods of ten minutes breathing as deeply as I can and then holding my breath based around the Wim Hof Method of breathing. This has been a game changer for me, and I cant express the positives you will also discover by doing the same. Energy exchanges are yours to decide on, but are incredibly important if you want to achieve the life you want. Start giving yourself the best chance you can have to rock your world, by bringing the energy back into your life.

Today's guest is one of those rare individuals who has now appeared on Join Up Dots twice. Firstly back on episode 459 when we spoke about  how she developed her business to be an expert on dealing with the complexities of raising children, and the anxieties and behavioural problems that we as parents may encounter with our adorable offspring. She got to that point as for 20 years she worked in a range of settings with families with complex needs who have lived through a range of trauma and as a respite foster carer herself had direct experience of living with traumatised children. She has now been running her own company training, speaking and writing about the impact of early years trauma children’s behaviour and development needs bringing much needed attention to these issues. But since then she seems to have pivoted and is now focusing more and more on helping people overcome the stresses of life. The anxieties that slowly creep us on us until it becomes a problem that can bring us to our knees Familiar limiting beliefs like... I don’t have enough time or the money to…,  I sometimes feel like a fraud, The work could dry up at any moment, I need to work 24/7 to keep my head above water, The market just isn’t good at the moment, People might not want my product or service, Everyone else is doing better than me, I need to be realistic and not aim too high,  I can’t REALLY charge that, can I?, I’m doing this for my family (the one I never see), I’m always stressed out and tired, People like me never…, I never get enough sleep I'm sure there isn't one of us who hasn't had a few of those every now and again in our lives. So what can we do about it? Are there quick fixes to get us mentally back on track? And now she is an expert, does she breeze through life like a twig on the mighty stream of life, stress free, and smiling all the way? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jane Evans. Show Highlights During the show we discuss such major topics with Jane such as: Jane shares how "her thing" came to her through in the most unexpected way, but now she is 100% embracing the authenticity of her professional life. We talk about the three types of stress in life, and the reasons that stress can sometimes be a good thing which we need to perform to a high level. Jane reveals the reasons why so many get stressed out at the moments of relaxation and holiday periods. And lastly...... The secret of change is to focus all your energies on not the past, but changing the new. If you do that you wont go far wrong.

Today's guest joining us on the show is a man from Edinburgh, Scotland who is assisting entrepreneur across the world to plough through the mind-blocks holding them back. He is the founder of Mindset experts. As he says "If you are an entrepreneur who has got past the start up phase then good work, that's a tough furrow to plough. You've now got some stability, an operational team and maybe one or two senior staff involved. But if you've got ambition you will have realised that the next chapter is different. You probably feel that you're still working just as hard but your growth has slowed down. You know that something has to change. That something is you." As they always say "If you win the inner game, you win the outer game" so how does he do it? How does he help you up-level your income, or increase your prospects in the future. Well he helps by getting you onto two relevant frameworks. One to develop your business strategy and one to develop your entrepreneurial mindset expertise. These route-maps allow you to see where you are on your journey, and show you the steps you are still to take. So how did he get to this point of awareness? Was it  his own stumbles or falls, or just an inbuilt talent of overcoming mindset obstacles? And where can we start today, if we have just one chance to move to the next level and change our mindset forever? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Joe Trodden. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such deep subjects such as: We share why the age of thirty seema to be such a landmark age for so many people. The time in their life when the light bulb switches on and possibilities reveal themselves. Joe shares how so many people come to him with a fix it job,  where actually the answers are already within them they just lack the clarity. Why there can be a huge advantage to being aware of your peer group from an early age and acting accordingly.  And lastly........... Joe talks openly about our innate supertalents and focusing in on your strengths as much as possible. Find the excitement in your life and you never work again.

Today's guest joining us on the show is a guy who I first stumbled across on YouTube, and if you have heard my recent cold showers challenge then this is the guy who inspired me to take the freezing plunge. So inspired by what he is doing from his home in the UK, I just had to invite him onto Join Up Dots to find out how he finds the time and the passion day after day. As he says "As well as being a full time geek, I have a passion for all things health and fitness. My experience and interests gives me a unique insight into the projects I work on. " He is cranking out the YouTube videos, releasing podcasts, blog posts, and showing us all how we can be the best versions of ourselves in a less than preachy message. That is normally enough for most people nowadays, but our guest isn't like most people as he also runs Falkon digital, which is a boutique Digital Agency, creating websites and helping clients grow their businesses online since 2009. This is a family run business, based in Altrincham,’up North’, in the leafy suburbs of Cheshire, a mere stone’s throw away from Manchester city centre and the airport, and they are ideally placed to work with companies locally, nationally and internationally. As they say "Our company ethos is to work with you, as an extension of your team, to work towards your business goals using our own expertise in design, development and digital marketing." So alongside looking after his wife and two kids, is this normal activity in his opinion or is he demonstrating a superpower of productivity and mindset that mere mortals cannot reach. And when did this all start? Was he the classic couch potato that had a life changing epiphany or always supremely fit and focused. Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Luke Sherran Show Highlights During the discussion with the Luke Sherran we hit such deep subjects such as:  We share how so many people miss out on the intensity of pushing through the pain barrier to gain the true gold that is waiting for them. Luke shares the reasons why his first business failed due to naivety in his business decision making. We talk about how we can re engineer the algorithms on YouTube to gain massive success in this exciting media format. and lastly................ Luke join up his dots and can clearly see that for every success he has made in his life, the seeds were planted many many years before.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we focus on a couple of emails from a listener of the show, who has told us off an issue that so many of us struggle with.....too many ideas, the imposter syndrome and waiting for the perfect time. Lets start with the first email that we received....... Email One Hi David, I will try and keep this short as I know you limit the time you spend on emails, and I’m sure that you get plenty. But I wanted to thank you for the content you have been putting out. I have been listening to JUD for around the last six months however some of your recent episodes have been particularly relatable. When I was younger I always wanted to be my own boss however like you say, I settled and followed the well-trodden path into uni and employment. I quickly discovered that the promised land of employment in a “good, safe, professional job” is not what it’s made out to be; it’s certainly not been my definition of good, safe or professional. It particularly hit me when one day whilst commuting into London. I noticed that the rhythmic clucking of rush-hour footsteps up tube station stairs just sounded too much like people being churned out by a factory press for my liking. I’m now in employment that suits me much better, and I am very grateful of that considering what I went through before, but I know that I need to really go it alone and dream of doing work which inspires and excites me every day. Moreover I feel like the time to act is now as I have realised that telling yourself that it’s not the right time is just a lie; now is as good of a time as any and if anything things will only get more difficult the longer you wait. The difficulty I’m having at the moment is transitioning from paper to practice. I have no issues forming businesses on paper; developing ideas, researching the idea, creating plans and to an extent even testing ideas. This however is when I seem to face a huge mental block; much like a deer in a car’s headlights that rather than bouncing along on its way to safety, only stops and stands still. A mixture of too many ideas and a fear of the unknown is the problem I guess, but something which I am very much fighting to get through at the moment. Your content is a massive help and a motivator when I’m struggling to move forwards but hopefully these small steps at the moment will be little dots that will join up in the future. Thanks again, please keep up the excellent work. David So we went back to him and followed up the conversation and found out that at his core he is struggling with "too many ideas, and waiting for the perfect time" Email Two I have never considered writing and really wouldn’t consider it a strength at all. I’m dyslexic and the process of writing is something which can be quite time consuming and painful, especially when I know that the structure of what I have written is going to be coming under some scrutiny. As such it actually means quite a lot that you commented positively on it. I have always tended to compensate for poor writing by speaking… and like a wet fish slapping me in the face, I think I need to take your advice from an episode where you talk about podcasting as a way of engaging and directing sales. While ideas are great they are now distractions more than anything and that in truth it’s probably me giving myself an excuse not to progress with whatever I was working on and I guess fall back into my comfort zone of researching etc. rather than entering the ‘unknown’. I will be sure to let you know how I get on with the ploughing on through as well as what happens after. It’s funny you should mention our old mind-set problem because I can totally relate to that. I have one friend who I discuss a lot of these things with, mainly because he has similar feelings about his job, but other than that I keep things very much to myself and perhaps that’s a mistake. Was there something in particular that got you out of that mind-set, a particular turning point when you stepped out from being undercover?   I work in construction so sometimes move around a lot. During the time I was referring to with the steps comment, I was living in South East London and commuting by train to Watford and Ealing. I now live in Kent (largely because it’s so much cheaper than London) but split my time between Kent and Essex. If our paths ever cross then I think I owe you a drink.

Today’s guest has built his business by bringing the worlds desire for published success onto the book shelves of the world, against staying on their pc’s as unfinished masterpieces. As he says “If you’re like most of my clients, you know SO much about your topic that you don’t know where to start, what to put where, and how to tie it all together into something people actually want to buy. Book publishing is worth $120 BILLION globally. The industry rewards preparation—not motivation. I’m a Ghostwriter. AKA, a professional book writer who captures an author’s voice, helps you hone your ideas so they’re publishing-ready, and polishes the hidden gems in your manuscript…all without injecting my own opinions or views into your book. On top of that, I’m the first and only Ghostwriter on the planet to use writing analytics software (Stylometric Analysis) to capture and authentically recreate an author voice. When we partner on your book, we’ll get your ideas on paper in your voice. So is a book a vital part of the business branding, or just pandering to the entrepreneurs ego? And where do most people go wrong when trying to do this themselves, the writing or the actual process of marketing the book? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Joshua Lisec. Show Highlights During the show we discuss such major topics with Joshua such as: Joshua shares how his dream in college was to be a published author, which has led him after turning down many opportunities to help the world get published. We talk about the “stay in your lane” advice that so many people get given in their lives which is a crock. You dont just drive in a straight line, so why should your life be that way? How the talent stack is one of the most powerful concepts that you can bring into your life. Join up your strengths and passions and make something unique. Why it take as much effort to sell a $50,000 product as it does a $50 product. So ramp up your prices, and provide the right value to

Today's guest joining us on the show is a man with a special talent, attached to a desire to entertain,  educate and inspire his clients to be the best that they can be. Most people never get close to being the full version of themselves due to their limiting beliefs, mental anchors, and quite frankly the inability to supercharge themselves by tapping into the talents they have lying dormant deep within them. That was never going to be the case  for today's guest as he was determined to be the best he could be once he found the true passion in his life, hypnosis and the power of the subconscious mind. He came across his natural talent for hypnosis and suggestion in the hotel De France in Jersey when he watched a show-band drummer hypnotize a young lady, who was then told that a toy dog a little boy was playing with, was a fully grown lion. The resulting mayhem convinced him he had to discover more about the mind and imagination, he had to know why reality can change so quickly. Through that obsession, his own reality changed and he not only found that those skills being used on over 70,000 people across the world, he also found himself on the stages of London to the shiny lights of Las Vegas. Which is credit to the man, as being born with an inherited a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Charcot Marie Tooth disease, he was was told at 19, after a year undergoing disastrously bad surgery and physio, that he should only do sit down jobs. No one would have expected him to instead become "Britain's Leading Hypnotist" . As he says "The trick of success is to use what comes out of, and goes in to, the Subconscious Mind" and he certainly does this everyday with stunning effect. So what made him push himself to tackle bigger and bigger challenges when he could have simply settled for the lifestyle that others expected of him. And are there tips that all of us can start using today that can see us soar and defy expectations? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jonathan Chase. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such deep subjects such as: Jon shares how we should enjoy the benefits of working with high ticket clients. They value what your offer is, and you also need a lot less of them to build a dream life. How a business is all about focus. Get the focus right and your business will lead to the ultimate sophistication.......perfect simplicity. And lastly........... We discuss how humans are the only creators on the planet, due to the power of their imagination. We should spend a lot more time in our minds and be in harmony with our subconscious.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is a man with many years of experience and several successful startups and exits through his history. He joins us as the founder of Needls, the first ever RoboAgency. What does this mean I hear you cry? Well it's the easiest and most effective way to advertise online. The Needls ad platform allows businesses to automatically create, target and optimize digital ads on both Facebook and Instagram. Using its proprietary intent engine, Needls identifies buying signals within posts, tweets and status updates through Data Science and AI, ultimately determining the perfect target audience for these ads by monitoring social media conversations in real time. Needls then delivers advertisements directly to these individuals, resulting in a high-quality traffic and impressive ROI for advertisers. But as you will hear on the show this is a guy who is joining up his dots everyday, as back in 2006 he started as an Internet Marketing Consultant for MenuPalace.com, where he managed all aspects of the sales cycle for online marketing campaigns. This lead him to creating a brokerage company focused on selling high end, established, web-based businesses that have a history of generating significant cash flows. Until he got to where he is today the dots have joined up From starting his first business while still in university at the age of 18 it seems that he is exactly where he wants to be As he says"Creating businesses that help people is what motivates me. Every company I've started and worked with has stemmed from a problem that needed a solution. Now with Needls, I'm excited to bring that knowledge and passion to businesses looking to leverage social media as their problem". So if business is all about solving problems for others, why do so many people struggle to find a business idea that works for them? And now he has created a solid history of online and offline success does he find it easier moving forward, or just as confusing? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Michael Koral Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Michael such as: How so many people across the world have to wait for the realisation of what they love in life. But the dots will start making sense. We discuss the power of a robo agency, which has given the power back to the individuals of the world, compared to the historic route of marketing. Why so many people in corporate land have a huge problem to define the value that they can brig to the world holding them back from success and lastly…. Michael shares just a few of the failures in his life, which have led him to where he is today. Would he be where he is without them???

So what is the most valuable commodity in your life? You might say that it is your family, your kids, your highly polished sportscar that come to the top of the list of this category. However, i would say that this is wrong. In fact I wouldn't just say that you are wrong, but you are you so wrong it's untrue. Although these things are precious to you, I think the most valuable commodity in your life is time. Agreed? Time is something that is given to us right at the very start with no clear indication as to how much we have actually ever been given. We didn't get a chart that says "Ok you are here.....follow your finger to the end." The time that you have on this planet is running out from the moment that you pop your head out from deep within your mother. There is no pause button. There is no way to wind back the hands of time and get it back. It's strange then that we all are focused on everything else in our life, but not overly on the hands of life running down the time that we have left on this planet. The time that we have to create our legacy and leave our mark on this planet. Let me ask you a question "What did you do today with your life?" Was it amazing, stimulating, exciting or just a few connected hours that ran between the time you opened your eyes to closing them again? If its the droopy eyes scenario then that doesn't sound like this most useful spending of the most valuable commodity does it? Steve Jobs the late founder of Apple, said many remarkable things as you will have heard on Join Up Dots, but during his commencement speech in 2005 he spoke these words about the use of time, and why he considers it as the most valuable commodity mankind has. If these words don't frighten you into taking action then I don't know what will. “I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself, ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘no’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever used to help make the big choices in life. Almost everything—all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure—these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” So do you know what you are going to spend your most valuable commodity on tomorrow? It better be something good, as it will be the most expensive investment that you have ever made full stop.

Cold Showers are something that I have never considered to be something that I want to get involved in. After all why would anyone want to jump into freezing cold water everyday, but apparently a lot of people do and it seems for very good reasons too. In today's show we report on the first day of a brand new challenge that I am hoping will inspire the world to try to do something that makes them uncomfortable, but builds the mindset muscle to tackle bigger and biger ventures. Taking cold showers everyday. I started this challenge after being inspired by the words of Mahatma Gandhi and on a lesser note many different YouTubers who have tried the same experiment with mixed results. The idea is by plunging headfirst into a series of cold showers each morning, you increase alertness, lose fat, get healthier skin and other such benefits. Even tackling depression in the process. The first day came, and I hesitated for a second and jumped into the freezing blast of water. Man it was a shock to the system, and even with my steely resolve I jumped straight back out. This was my first mistake. Apparently you build up to this level, instead going from a warm and lovely shower, and then when you are nice and hot turn it down for the last two minutes or so. This is an easier way of doing things, but still is difficult as you can imagine. The second day came, and i was not looking forward to it, but by taking it step by step I overcame the desire to turn that dial to red as quickly as possible. I have 28 more days of the cold showers, so what am I aiming to achieve? What are the benefits that others report from doing the same? The Key Benefits To Taking Cold Showers Everyday The majority of the benefits that we aim to get from cold showers are of course internally. An increase in the immunity of your body will allow for more colds to be fought off. Better skin, Shinier hair. All very cosmetic i guess, and I for one will do most things to look healthier than I was previously. Isn't that how the world operates generally? But what about inside. What can cold showers do for your general well being that other actions during the day can't touch? 1. Increases Alertness Take a cold shower first thing every morning and you will feel more alive and alert then ever before. Yeah, no shock there. In fact the biggest shock is the water to our heart. But i was surprised to discover that this alertness didn't just carry on through an hour or so, but actually will last for the whole day. This is due to the gasping for breath that you suddenly do, bringing in more oxygen to your body which as you can imagine is what we need to live. So if you can have more alertness, I guess this leads to better decision making, productivity and everything else that makes you shine against your competitors. Pay Rise anyone?? 2. Refines Hair and Skin We all want to look young and sexy, and unfortunately for most of us the delight of having a hot shower everyday can limit that desire massively. You see cold showers are wonderful for closing the pores of the skin and hair follicles to prevent natural oils and greases from being stripped away. We all know that after a lovely hot shower which can feel tight and stretched. Start taking cold showers and believe me you will see a rosy glow spreading throughout you. You are protecting what nature has given you and making the most of it. I am known for dark circles under my eyes, and even with plentiful sleep they can stay dark. I am hoping that after 30 days I am looking better than ever as the cold water replenishes my skin and makes me look like Zac Efron on a good day. 3. Improves Immunity and Circulation As you jump into your first of the cold showers your body needs to get used to, some of the biggest benefits wont be visible at all. In this regard you have to trust us and have, in the worlds of George Michael "A Little Faith". When the cold water hits your skin, your body will fight to increase your body temperature by increasing the amount of white blood cells in your body. This is a great thing as the winter arrives and the world is spluttering around you as the more white blood cells that you have the more your body will laugh at the viruses and germs that bring us to our knees. You will feel invincible and never have to have a duvet day watching Netflix again in your life (ok, that might not be such a good thing after all.) 4. Stimulates Weight Loss I'm not sure that this is something that will make you go "Whoo Hoo" hand me another bag of Doritos I am now a cold showers maniac. But there is recorded information that the increased coldness to your skin can attack the different types of fat our body stores. So the more you shiver the slimmer you get. This is particularly true around the belly and love handles areas that people struggle with. I'm naturally skinny, so I dont really want this to occur, and I am hoping that the cold showers recognises this and doesnt make me end up looking like a long distance endurance runner. That is not a good look at all. 5. Speeds Up Muscle Soreness and Recovery We have all seen athletes come off the track or pitch and jump into a bath with ice floating on the top. Have you however ever thought why they want to do this? The cold is amazing at stimulating what our body needs to recover energy and restore lightness in our joints and muscles. Had a hard day in the garden, then take a cold shower before going to bed and feel those aches and pains slip away. Even some of the worst sports injuries are prescribed cold treatment by the Doctors, so why would cold showers not act any differently? 6. Eases Stress I have been someone that struggles with stress throughout my life. I now say I am the worst kind of stress head. The one that doesn't look like he has a care in the world, but deep inside the body is going mad and producing a lot of nasty stuff. Back in 2018 I got hit with Gout, which is a buildup of uric acid in the joints. You can find this more often around the base of the big toe, and let me tell you...it is crippling. The worst pain that I have ever had. So upon my review of the benefits of taking cold showers I was pleased to see that perhaps this is the solution that i am looking for. Instead of taking tablets everyday, I can simply embrace this form of stress relief and little by little cure myself. So this is a big tick in the cold showers box for me, if it turns out to be true. 7.  Relieves Depression Cold showers have been shown to send an enormous amount of electrical charges through to the brain, stimulating endorphins which can help with depression. With more and more of the worlds population relying on happy pills prescribed by over eager Doctors, then this must be a good thing to try. You can see it occuring why this would be true really, even if you dont deal with depression. You plunge into cold water, and come out feeling alive and sparkly. You must feel more inspired and less depressed than just moving from warm room to warm room, eliminating any freshening of your skin and blood. Anyway, as I say I have never had depression thank god, so I don't think that I will be able to report back on this, but for others this could be the winning ticket in the cold showers lottery of life. A three minute burst of stimulation can literally change the rest of your day and life. That for me is something worth trying for sure. So there you have it the start of the 30 days cold showers experiment and I am going to see what happens to me and report back. If you want to join me ( not in the shower, unless you are 30 years old and blonde) then drop us a line using the contact form and tell us how you are getting on.

Welcome to the new version of Join Up Dots, which we are beginning to start building from today onwards. These are big changes that fingers crossed will make a big difference to so many more people across the world. People who listen to the show everyday, but for numerous reasons fail to take that motivation into the real world to get the life that they want. They are consuming books, podcasts, YouTube Videos, buying courses and still not getting anywhere near to the life they want, and I now believe that it's purely from doing things in the wrong way. They are joining up the right dots, but in the wrong way. You see most people feel that success comes to them once they get money, financial success or freedom into their lives. Which I for one would say that is a great benchmark for what everyone thinks is a successful life. In fact I think I would have said exactly the same thing a few years ago. However, now I would say that health is more important than wealth for a start. There is nothing more important in your life than being fit and healthy. As Steve Jobs once said "Who wants to be the richest man in the cemetery?".....i certainly don't for sure. So being healthy is a key element that leads to success, but what gets you to that point? Well let's start by listing them in the order that they should appear.... Mindset - Is the key to everything. If you dont have the right mindset to be able to push through the obstacles and grow the possibilities around you then you will struggle. How many times have you started something and then thought "This is never going to work!" and stopped? That is because you didn't have the right mindset. You didn't have the skills that allowed you to find the keys to the locked door. Time - It is clearly evident to me that the majority of people want to keep their current life and try to shoehorn the new one into the gaps. This is of course is prone to failure and just leads to a feeling of overwhelm. Surely the better way is to make the space to allow for the new changes to grow and take shape? You wouldn't just go into a garden and keep on planting seeds where everything else is already growing would you? So why do we think that this is the way to change in our own lives? Health - I was not the biggest supporter of my health in the early days of creating Join Up Dots. In fact I'm still not the most active person, but I am trying. I try to sleep more. I try to meditate through a series of breathing exercises and I try to eat the right things. Should I be doing more exercises like running and the like? Well yes, i should but I don't like doing it so I try to find the things that will make a difference in my own life. The same must go for you and to move forward to the life of success that you want you have to be focused on giving yourself the greatest chance of making a difference in your life. YOu need to make sure that your body is firing all cylinders and that my friends comes down to looking after yourself. Fun And Inspiration - How great is it to only be doing what you love doing? You wake up every morning with a Yay! instead of a Groan? Well i think it is mega important and I know that when I am doing something that inspires me and focuses my attention then the quality of work is better and the time goes quicker too. Why would you want to  be working on something that bores you? It just doesn't make sense, but I promise you the world seems to do this very thing. Madness. So lets look at the last of the five dots that lead to success.....which as I said at the beginning is normally the piece that people start on first. Finance and Business - This is of course where people consider success to lie, but as we have already spoken about it just doesn't occur that way. You need to be ready for the battle and that comes with winning your inner game. If you join up you dots and really make a go and getting yourself mentally and physically in top condition then you are on you way to the life that you want. I hope sincerely that you enjoy the new and improved version of Join Up Dots and lets us know what you want to hear from us in the next few years moving forward. All the best and thanks for listening David

Todays guest joining us on the show is a man who has created something, that as soon as I saw it I thought "Wow, I know many people who could do with this system" It's all down to giving you the ability to focus in on a task, when the world of distractions are flying around your head. You know what its like, you have an important piece of work to finish, but you just need to check Facebook for a second, and then of course the football results, and before you know it that piece of work takes longer and longer. Pressure and stress abounds Well as our guest says " After I left my corporate job, I spent several years struggling to build a life that allowed me the creative freedom to realize my potential, while still paying my bills. I worked as a freelance writer and tutor, started a business, and pursued numerous side hustles before eventually establishing myself as a professional coach for entrepreneurs, growth company executives, and Fortune 100 managers. Along the way, I tried everything I could find that promised to boost my productivity, and to stop myself from procrastinating and wasting time. I found productivity apps that helped me organize my to-do list, stay off social media, and manage my calendar. I also developed my own systems to set long-term goals, to plan my weeks more strategically, and to stick to a strong morning routine. After helping my coaching clients implement some of these tools, I realized that today’s digital workers need a solution for procrastination that didn’t exist: A community to connect with like-minded individuals committed to holding each other accountable, hour by hour, for actually doing the actions contained in those todo lists, productivity tools, and goal trackers. I created Focusmate to help independent workers break free of the shame and anxiety caused by chronic procrastination, and to enjoy the same benefits of accountability as clients paying thousands of dollars for coaching. Love this, truly love this. So when this idea popping into his head did he think like most people seem to do "That must be out there already, so what's the point?" And where does he find the biggest need for his services, from people who are just beginning or ones much further into the game who should know better. Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Taylor Jacobson Show Highlights We discussed so many deep subjects on the show such as: Why so many people fail to get an idea of the ground quite simply due to the fact that they have too many ideas. Taylor talks about "blundering" around in his career, which allowed him to experience many things that has led him to where he is today. We chat about finding the minimum viable product for any business as soon as possible, no matter how ugly it might be. And lastly……….. What would it be like if you didn't have to worry about business and only do what you love doing in life? Then perhaps its time to find a business partner who does.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we talk about an issue that effects every single one of us in our lives. The feeling of disappointment. You know what its like. You study really hard for your exams, and when you get the results back you haven't done as well as you thought you would. Disappointment. You pluck up the courage to ask that person that you fancy out on a date, and they look at you and say "No, im ok thank you" Mega Disappointment......and i'm sure that you can think of many different forms of disappointment that occurs in your life everyday. Now, through the process of building Join Up Dots into what it is today, on a day to basis I have had crushing failures where success was mine to have. I have invested time and money into something worthwhile and all I got was a whack in the mouth and that feeling if disappointment that can knock you off track. However, what are we really feeling at these times in our lives? Well, i have been thinking about this more and more and I dont think that we are disappointed by the result, more to the fact of how we thought our life would change moving forward. It's actually the future version of ourselves that we are upset at missing out on. Our lives wont be going into the sexy world that we had been pining our hopes on as we would have liked. But here is the kicker. This is the real lesson to be had during the times when we receive news differently to what we were expecting. Our lives have not changed at all. We are in exactly the same position as we were two seconds before hand. We have the same money. We have the same health. We have the same past and present. It's just our desired future that is different and that has never existed anyway. So what are we getting disappointed about? A fantasy? The luxury holidays, the new car, paying off loans...it doesn't matter what it is as it's never happened. Its all in our heads. Therefore all we have to do is accept it for what it was, and set about making it what it is, and i guess this is the main truth of all. When we get that life that we want then it will be all the more sweeter and we can truly savour the achievement.

Becoming A Coach An Travelling The World Could Be Your Dream Job, But How Can You Make It Happen?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is the type of guest that i love having on the show. She has gone through the journey of crap, anxiety and ultimately finding the thing that she was placed on this world to do and now is rocking it bigtime. She loves helping people change their lives, but not in a normal life coach type of way of “Lets get your head into the game and then life will be good” Instead as she says ” Im just a girl from the Midlands in the UK, an ordinary girl achieving extraordinary things. I believe every woman, regardless of background, experience or personality type can be financially free and in control of their life. I believe this because if I can, then anyone can! My mission is to help women all over the world to enhance their income, change their relationship with money and reach levels of success they never thought possible. I am committed to making YOU one of my many success stories! Now just three years ago, she wouldnt have been so positive as life was very different then As she says “Although I worked extremely hard in my career, I still got to the end of the month only to realise I had overspent and could nearly afford to pay my phone bill. I realised I was not equipped with the right mindset to stay motivated and make savvy financial choices, I also needed an education in how to make more money and invest my time and resources wisely. I have transitioned from a job into running my own business thinking that would solve my problems but I still didn’t know what steps I needed to take to create the life I really desired. I felt confused and anxious all of the time, the hard work and little results was killing my motivation. And then just over three years ago I had a major breakthrough. I discovered the world of self development and realised that for my whole life I had been studying the wrong thing. I had been working hard at trying to earn more instead trying to be more and think differently. I can now see that all of my financial struggle and mindset battles had a purpose – because now I know the difference between what works and what doesn’t when it comes to money, and I’m able to help you. And that is where we will bring her onto the show, by starting todays episode. So does she look back and think “I could have done this earlier” or did she need to go through the pain to be at the right point to make it happen? And where do people go wrong? Is it mindset or talent? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Michelle Stonhill Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Michelle Stonhill such as: Why life is very much about travel today, leading to Michelle revealing how all her decisions are taken to now place her in the position to travel with her business. Michelle shares the three P’s of business, and explains why the personal approach to business more often than not overlooked. Michelle shares how she struggles with what she calls “fog in her business”, and needs to separate herself from her work to gain the clarity that she needs. Michelle discusses how she creates two distinct avatars to base her whole business around. One that is the the person starting out and the second where they want to be. and lastly…. Why Michelle reflect on the two male influences in her life as in many ways holding back from the future that is now hers to savour.

Today's guest on the Join Up Dots podcast is truly a pioneer in content marketing, having developed a video creation software platform long before video was king online. He is the co-founder and Chief Video Officer of Animoto, an award-winning online video maker that makes it easy for anyone to create professional-quality marketing videos, even if they have no technical skills and have never created a video before. With the mission of empowering everyone to create powerful videos regardless of age or experience, he founded Animoto with his high school and Dartmouth College friends back in 2006. Animoto’s certified partnerships with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and the Small Business Administration give it unique insight into the changing social media and business landscape -- which may be why more than 1-million businesses around the world are already using Animoto to create marketing videos. Prior to founding Animoto, he was a producer for MTV Networks and Comedy Central. So why is video so powerful for any business today? And what is the key mistakes that he sees people making time and time again? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Jason Hsiao Show Highlights During the show we touched on such subjects with Jason such as: Most people have the shortest attention on video, so don't save the best for last, but get the good stuff out as quickly as possible. Why you have to nail your business's core values and strengthen as you get going. Without it you will be going around and around in circles. If you could be the best in the world at one thing then what would it be? Become a category of one and your money will grow exponentially. And lastly........... How the words of the late Steve Jobs might just be the worst business advice that he has ever heard (or actually the best for that matter)

Today's guest joining us on the show learned about small business from his family who were in the barbershop and auto salvage yard businesses. He climbed the corporate ladder outside of the family business, working in distribution, manufacturing and engineering consulting and professional services. He’s a 3 time INC 5000 honoree after becoming the CEO of a 17 year old cash strapped company and growing it at 50 percent per year for five straight years. He accomplished that by bootstrapping the business without outside money. He now helps small business owners run profitable and well respected companies through his consulting firm. As he says "My dad was a serial small business owner. I’ve known the challenges of building a small business all my life. I took what I learned at the family dinner table added in some education, and I’ve had success most people would love to have. Let me tell you building a business is hard, but it doesn’t have to be hard forever. So today I share my business tips to help as many small business owners as I can create the success they want in their companies." So when did business become easier for him, and he moved away from the hard times? And why do some people stay trapped in to the build forever, without gaining the true rewards. Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Philip Williams Show Highlights During the show we shared such deep conversations such as: We discuss the basis of setting up a sound financial accounting system from the very first day of entrepreneurship. Not sexy but so important. Why so many people struggle with the concept of trying to express their true value to their customer. Solve a problem people. and.......... Why you wont win every job that you pitch for, so dont worry about losing on the wrong client just focus on the right ones

In today's episode of Join UP Dots we share some hugely valuable advice that can quite simply be life changing for the world. You see the world is full of people who are looking for the perfect business idea, or the perfect this or that. They walk around with ideas coming to them all the time, and for whatever reason they fail to get going on them. It might be the case that they feel that someone has done it before. It might be the case that they feel that they haven't got the personal experience to deal with the technical aspects. It might even be the case that they are frightened of trying to do the thing that they want to do, so build an unreasonable idea of what is needed. They project into the future where everything is perfectly constructed and built and stop as they aren't near to where they have to be. The key thing is you will never be anywhere near to the vision that is in your head, so stop looking for perfection...it doesn't exist. I'll tell you a little story about a coaching client of mine called Chris. Chris is building a property investment business and has had one of his friends desperate to work with him for the last few weeks. This potential client, wants to work with Chris, has the money and is willing to start straight away, however Chris has been reluctant. The reason? Chris quite simply felt that his business wasn't at the point where everything was looking sexy and completed, so he dragged his feet. However, what does a customer really ask for? Sexiness or value? Or they looking for something that looks uber glossy and professional, or are they looking for and end goal and you are the person to supply it? Well the answer is obvious. They aren't looking for perfection from you, they are in fact looking for the services that you are able to provide. You do not need to offer them anything other than what they are actually looking for. So please dont get hung up on whatever is going through your head, just blast through it by taking consistent action everyday and little by little.......guess what? You end up with the perfection you are hoping for.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is a lady who I have had the delight to spend time with as she interviewed me on her own podcast Pure Mind Magic recently. She has been fascinated by magic since early childhood, when she got her first magic box at the tender age of seven.  At the age of 15, Europe's largest magic association, the Magic Circle, became aware of her and a few years later she had the honor to be included in this exclusive circle.  In a male-dominated genre, our guest is still one of the few internationally recognized professional wizards, and one of the most recognized and sought after magicians worldwide.  But that's not all.  The trained hypnotist and specialist in mental magic also deals with finding out how our mind is built.  How our thoughts take shape in reality, whether parts of the future can be predicted which is of course a mystery that remains as inexplicable as magic itself.  As she says " We only use a small percentage of our mind. Ever wondered why some people seem to get along very easy while others always struggle even with simple thing? The secrets to this mystery is in our mind. We do have kind of a superpower with the abilities we possess. There are ways to train them like muscle turning you into the mind magician of your own life and create the reality you always wanted.  So does these deep insights into the world work as well in the business world as the professional world of entertainment? And how does her business operate? How do clients come like magic into her life, instead of chasing month after month like most people in the world? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Victoria Mavis Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Victoria  such as: Why the power of achievement is as much due to consistency as it is any god given talent. Victoria shares how the business side of things becomes so much easier, once you learn to fascinate your audience more than sell to them. We discuss how Quantum Physics can be used to astonishing effect day in day out simply by powering up the brain.  and lastly…. We share how magic occurs everyday in life by being present and welcoming to the opportunities that come your way.

Through Join Up Dots i have had the opportunity to meet many people across the world, whether on skype, conferences or even in pubs.

Most of them approach me as they have been a listener to the show, and after the normal preambles will generally hit with the same question every time.

"So how do you earn from the show?"

If they are really brave, or have consumed more pinot grigio than they should. they will follow this up with the question "How much do you earn from the show?"

Good questions both of them, as a podcast in itself isn't a money maker, it's one hundred percent lead generation.

People listen, people decide that I am trustworthy and then they connect with me and buy my products.

Now I could hit them with the answer of £xyz, giving them the figure down to the finest details but more often than not I dont.

Instead I answer "As much as I Want to earn", which I can see in their eyes is not the kind of response that they are hoping for but it's true.

Once you start creating momentum online you can literally earn what you want as long you provide the value that people want.

Value equals income, and the more people who want that value then the better you will do.

Totally different to working in a corporate environment, when you are not the person responsible for deciding how much that value is worth?

We all remember going to the job interviews and being offered a position for £30,000 a year, and skipping back home like we had just won the lottery.

Roll forward a year, and we beomoan this miserly reward for our efforts as we have now decided how much value we are actually bringing to the company and it's a lot more than £30,000.

In 2019 my aim for the show is to earn £500,000 for the year which means that I have to earn £41,666 per month. Is this a big ask?

Well yes in one regard, which is why I have spent the last five years working on the show to build the momentum.

However in the other regard, its quite simple. I just need to find what people need more and more, and then find a way of providing that so they buy from me.

Value +Scale = Income.

So the next time you are working at your job, or walking around thinking "I really want that car, how can i get it?"

Dont just think of loans, or potential bonuses. Instead start considering how you can bring value to someone and then multiply this value.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you again soon

David

Happy New to everyone who listens to the show, so how has it been already? Are you focused on the amazing opportunities and income busting ideas flowing around your head? Or are you instead hugging your pillow whilst thinking of that last pint and half of tequila that you consumed the night before? Well wherever you are today you will never have a better time to start taking the bull by the horns and making a difference in your life. It's new year resolution time, when you decide that you are going to run a marathon, stop drinking and take control of your life. You know the kind of stuff that starts with a bang and ends up with a whimper. You start with the best of intentions, keep going for a few weeks and then stop as you don't have the desire to keep it going. I think the better way of doing things, is start doing small things in October when you aren't trying to do them because of the calendar and see if you can keep them going. If you don't keep them going then it doesn't seem as much as failure. It was just something that you tried and it didn't work very well. Seems sensible to me for sure. So in Join Up Dots land for 2019, my focus is three fold: Make more money, enjoy myself more, and get a bit healthier. Im not setting out to recreate the wheel, just focusing in on a few things here and there that can make a big difference to my life. Develop the coaching side of the business at Join Up Dots first and foremost which you can check out here  as this is now the big part of what we do at Join Up Dots. Bringing in over 15 years of experience in just 30 days we show you how to build a business that works online - BigTime. Thats it in a nutshell. Just three stages to the next phase of my life and of the Join Up Dots empire all being tackled in a measured and confident manner. Let us know what is happening in your life and we look forward to being with you hand in hand as you march your way to success. Happy New Year!!!!!!

Today's guest, joining us on the show is an international portrait photographer born in Russia and now based in Beijing, China. She is also a host of the popular podcast Marketing for Creatives where she brings the experts and other creatives to share their experience in business and marketing. But photography and podcasting are just a couple of the things that she delivers everyday, as through her profiling she also focuses on helping people across the world grow their authority and become influencers in their niche. As she says "You can be a master in what you do, but if nobody sees you then you can be unknown for years. Is there a secret to living our increasingly wired life, while not letting it consume you, so you can live your best life offline? Well today's guest feels that she has just written more than just another etiquette book, AINT "U" GOT NO MANNERS? but its the go-to guide with secrets and common sense for surviving and thriving in a world that increasingly blends your online life. Welcome to todays episode of Join UP Dots, where in the show we continue on with the Mini Course – How To Start Your Own Business – Part Four As you will have seen and heard in the previous episodes, to start your own online business you really need to understand yourself and your desires. No matter how much you think that the reason for starting a business is the money it never is. People want their own business for so many different reasons: Control, time freedom, health reasons the list goes on and on and on, and rarely is the real truth money. What also is the truth is most people fail in business as they choose a subject that they just aren't very good at. They dont have the skills to make it a success. Which is why on Part Three of the Join Up Dots Course, we dig even deeper and get everyone of our students to look at their skills, talents and personal beliefs by taking a series of online tests. So if you are now at this stage, then you should not only know what business you would like to work in, but also be aware what is the right business for you. You know your strengths. Now lets go back into the research stage and start looking at those business again, and this time start reviewing the monetization options. Lets see what other people are doing and start making a list of the things that make money that we can do too. You will be surprised at some of the things that people are making money from. Certainly even after 15 years of online success I still am blown away by the kind of things that people do every day. These could be ebooks, courses, coaching as I always say the list goes on and on. Be creative and make sure that you leave no stone unturned. For more information regarding drilling down deep to see where the money is then of course listen to the show above as we build on this subject and future episodes. Thanks for listening and we hope to see you again soon.

Todays episode is a very short episode where David Ralph shares his Xmas greetings for 2018. So where do you stand on this time of the year? Do you think "Man, i achieved so much in the last twelve months!" or perhaps "God, another year done. Wheres' it all gone?" That is the problem that we face every single day and especially in the entrepreneurial world that we live in. We rarely savour the moment, we always think about the highs and lows, the achievements and failures. However, if we are truly honest with ourselves and reflect on the present then these thing's dont make any difference at all. They only lead us to a higher level of anxiety or depression as we keep on trying to achieve more and more. Which is not good and can cause us not only financial issues but also health ones too. In todays episode of Join Up Dots we not only say happy Christmas to you all, but we also say today of all days is about the now. Savour the now, savour your family and savour the gift that the world is giving you and everything else can wait until tomorrow. Happy Christmas everybody.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is quite simply one of the most inspiring people I know. Through the Join Up Dots world i am surrounded by people who by and large say that they want to do something and then don't. This could be experienced business owners, newbies or quite simply dreamers who talk the talk but fail to walk the walk. Today's guest is anything but a dreamer, and throughout the last few years has shot to the top by taking bold action. For example, when starting his podcast twelveminuteconvos instead of going the normal two shows a week route, he didn't then raise the game to a daily show like the real movers and shakers. No, he went big and attempted the break the world record by recording 1001 shows in just 90 days. Then in 2017 he went even bigger and recorded 813 podcasts in just 12 weeks. When I last connected with him, he was on a mission across America and Canada driving through 48 states interviewing 1001 past podcast guests, exploring the power of a conversation as a Caribbean podcaster. As he says "I thought I had it figured out. It would be simple. In 12 days I would raise US$48,000.   Think about it here with me. I interviewed 1987 guests on my podcast. If each podcast guest donated US$24 we would raise US$47,688 which would cover the RV rental, gas, food, tolls, rv parks, recording equipment etc. This would have been most ideal for the crew. The planned crew for this mission would have been my wife, Amanda, our two sons respectively and one of our friends from Virginia, Ryan Dean. We raised US$3,947.50 in 12 days, 8% of the initial goal. Great time to GIVE UP !!!! !!!! !!!! However you will find in today's show that this is a guy who when it comes to a dream, just like Rick Astley Is "Never Gonna Give You Up" He digs in deep and finds a way through to the life he wants. So has he always been such a high goal setter, or does he do it now because once up on a time he was anything but. And what has been the biggest learning curve throughout the last three years? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Engel Jones Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Engel Jones such as: Why the inputs in your life really help you to to gain the great outputs. There is a ying and yang thing going on behind all actions. Engel shares why so many people have a life where the bare necessities is all that is required but struggle to go after more and more. We discuss how the difficulty of the tasks performed are always more mental than practical. Get you head in the game to achieve greatness. and lastly…. Why in life the true success comes your way by being you and 100% you, That is what the world is waiting for and is your job to deliver.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we are joined by the founder of OnlineDegree.com, a for-profit company that allows people to take courses and earn degrees from hundreds of participating universities, all for free.  After he graduated from college with an overwhelming amount of debt, and after hearing his wife lament that there were very few resources for mothers that were trying to go back to school he had an idea. He started OnlineDegree.com in order to change the way that the world went to school. As you might expect, he can now offer a deep look into the American student debt crisis and why it has become everybody's problem, as well as offer his perspective on running a business that keeps the lights on while adhering to his values. As he says "We’re Making Higher Education More Accessible & Affordable For Everyone. At OnlineDegree.com, anyone can take online courses at their own pace and within the confines of their existing busy schedule...completely, free. After completing courses, students can then receive college credits at participating universities across the country, saving both time and money. We want to help the millions of people seeking a college education who've been unable to take the first step. University and college education can still be too expensive and unapproachable for the majority of Americans. Normal distractions of work, bills, and home life, often prevent someone from getting started with education or being able to dedicate time and money to a traditional 4-year degree program. We're going to change that. By removing barriers and focusing on world-class education, we’re enabling everyone to take the first step with full-time education. So are there common issues that everyone stumbles into as the debt increases around them. And why with the ease of entry into online world, do so many people feel that they have no other option around Well lets find out as we start joining up dots with the one and only Mr.Grant Aldrich Show Highlights During the show we discussed such wide ranging subjects such as: Grant reveals why we should have the core of our inner morals and strategies in tact and remain so moving forward no matter what happens. We discuss the reasons why Grant's first steps into the entrepreneurial world were all about freedom, but actually he became a slave for the task. How Grant had the epiphany of finally doing something that he really loved everyday in his life, which was going to be bigger than himself. Why living a truly frugal lifestyle is often the fastest way to achieve the lifestyle you truly want. and Grant discusses the model that he has chosen to allow students from across the world to gain free education.

Your values should drive your passions not the other way around. Why the more gratitude we share with the world brings about greater and greater rewards into our lives. Welcome to todays episode of Join UP Dots, where in the show we continue on with the Mini Course - How To Start Your Own Business - Part Three This has been in response to the amount of people that have connected with the show with the same frustrations. "David I would love to start my own business, but I simply haven't got a clue what I want to do!" Which isn't a surprise, as when do we really ever stop to think about what we do really well and how to make a business from those things? We don't, we simply go through the education system and get used to being told what we are good at, and more often than not what we aren't very good at. We have to remember that this is just one persons opinion, and in history it has been proved wrong time and time again. From sportsmen, to dancers, to artists to musicians, people have been told that they shouldn't go into an environment when actually the world was waiting for them to do just that. So how do we do this? How do we start changing our lives and finding the thing that will light us up inside more than anything? Well, following on from Part One and Part Two, as you will hear in today's episode we have to do our research to delve deep into ourselves and ask the big questions. We refer you to an amazing resource called Strength Finders 2.0 which really helps you find the things that you are best at, and turn them into super strengths. The more you can do in your life what you are best at, then the greater the value you can provide, leading to huge income coming your way. Its a bit more than that, and does take work, but it will certainly head you in the right direction for sure. So  focus in on what you do well, and then return to episode four of our mini series which shows how to find the money in those talents Things are starting to get sexy!!!

Well you might be thinking what does it take to be an expert communicator? Well lets ask the big questions..... Do you sometimes wonder why people in positions of influence remark in less-than-influential ways? Perhaps you've been amazed at those without fancy titles and how they are able to inspire others to action? What does it take to be a person of influence and impact? Well as we said today's guest has been wondering those things time and time again and is on a mission to teach the world how to do things the right way. So is there a right way to communicate or does it change dependent on situation? And what would be the number one mistake that people make when opening their mouths in a group scenario?  Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Stacey Hanke Show Highlights Stacey shared the first steps of starting her company  We discuss how it is so important to set the scene of why communication training is important to a room of reluctant attendees Stacey reveals how the idea came to her, and the steps that she took to make it into a thriving business. Great stuff. Stacey remembers how the first five to seven years of growing the business were so difficult, but also so needed as she strengthened throughout. and lastly......... Why the route to gaining the first client is always the hardest one, which is as much due to the fact that you get into your own way.

In the last episode of this mini series helping people find the idea that can make their own business come alive, we went through a very simple exercise. If you haven't listen to the show, then let's go through it again. But really for maximum effect jump back on to episode one, so that you can hear what to do in full. Well, as we spoke about, one of the big problems that people have is that they get so wrapped up with their own lives that they are unable to see what is under their own noses. They wake with the alarm (because they have to), they go to the office (because they have to) and basically do what people expect them to do for the remaining hours. Not good. So how do we break free from that mindset and start reconnecting with the real us. The real us that could in the future wake up with excitement and passion, due to doing what they love to do the most. Go back in time and look for all the clues you can find about your life. These might be tucked away in your Mum and Dad's house. They might be in photo albums. They might be in a box of treasures that you aren't sure why you keep but can show so much. Look for the things you used to do, just because you used to do them. You loved doing them, and never considered them a waste of time. You just enjoyed every second and would do them for free. We give some more exercises that can really break those things down and now lead us into episode two. Now you have a list of the things that you love doing, what do you do with that information? How can you translate this into a great business, that not only you love but your customers love too? Well, we need to go and do some more research to see what other people are doing. You see that is one of the problems that we have in life. What we see around us becomes our reality. We see people working in offices, so it's really hard to break free from the thinking off this is what life is about. This is where YOU go to work everyday. But believe me, through Join Up Dots interviews I have spoken to people who work from home, up mountains, in forests, on beaches, in community work spaces everywhere you can think off. They have broken down what life wants them to think, and gone a different way. So imagine that you have created a list where there is an overriding theme of fitness activities. You love to be active and would love to build a business around this. You might also see a smaller theme whereby you like being outside in the fresh air, instead of being trapped in a cubicle with a suit and tie on...BOOM. Now this is the fun part when you can start taking those ideas and playing around on the worldwide web to see what other people are doing. Some things you will think “Nah, couldn't bear doing that everyday”.....whilst other things you will think “Yeah that looks really fun”. So get the list going and see what the world has to offer, and believe me the world has more to offer than you can possibly imagine.

In today's episode of Join Up Dots we talk about a similar problem that so many people have in the world. They think that they are not up to the level that they need to be to start taking control of their own lives. They think that they need to get their heads deeper into the world of podcasts, self development books or gurus. They are living a life with the hand brake on, which is such a problem to everyone. You see, its an issue that has been built up by years of training our minds to believe that we need to be certified by the world to prove our proficiency. We need to be accredited by some outside organization before we can step boldly into the world. This is quite simply rubbish. Yes there is of course some jobs that you need to be accredited to do. For example I wouldn't be keen on someone doing brain surgery on me, if they had taught themselves from watching YouTube videos. They is just a bad idea, but more often than not the process of doing is enough to start learning more than the people that you need to teach, sell to or inspire - Your customers. So why do people do this "holding themselves back" stuff? Is it fear, is it not wanting to fail, I dont know? It could quite simply be their upbringing, joining forces with the life they have created for themselves. What I do know is everyone who has become a master of their trade started as a novice. Everyone. Whether it was Paul McCartney, Van Gogh, Donald Trump, Steve Jobs the list would go on forever they all had to start and grow into the person that they wanted to be, So as you will hear in this episode of Join Up Dots, you have nothing to worry about. You can only fail if you fail to start. Be brave, be persistent and work towards your dream, as the dream you want is waiting for you.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots, David Ralph helps everyone with the age old problem that he hears time and time again. "David, I would love to start my own business but I haven't got a clue what I could build it on" You see most of us operate in a world where we do what is expected of us. We go through school because we are told to, and then attempt the exams that we think will make a difference to us moving forward. We attempt the right exams that will look good on our cvs, and not really because they are fun, play to our strengths or just challenging and testing. That is bad mistake and leads us all on to a path where we are giving our control over to other parties. So how can we change this and make a difference in not just our lives but also the lives of our families? Quite simply we start focusing in on the things that we enjoy the most and here is the kicker, the things that play to our strengths. You see the world actually need our strengths and will pay good money for the things that we can do really easily. That's not what you actually think is it? If you are reading this then you will be thinking that life has to be hard, work has to be difficult to get the great rewards but that is so wrong on so many levels. So get a piece of paper, close the curtains from outside distractions and start the exercise that David will be sharing with you in this episode. As he says, you must take it seriously and do your work over a period of time. Ten minutes here and there just wont cut it. You are changing your life after all. Look out for the next episode where we go deeper into the subject and find even more avenues to change your life forever.

Todays guest joining us on the show is a coach, speaker and author with an expertise in improving organizational performance, cohesion and accountability. He spent 15+ years working with the highest performing basketball players on the planet. He now travels the world teaching organizations how to utilize the same strategies in business that elite athletes use to perform at a world-class level. As he says "As a veteran basketball performance coach, I have worked with NBA superstars such as Kevin Durant and Victor Oladipo. I understand the principles of top performance, mental toughness and consistent achievement. Whether it is on or off the court... individual or collective development... the fundamentals of performance and achievement are identical. For an organization to thrive, every member of the team needs to make the conscious choice to be an influential leader and selfless teammate. I help businesses get clarity on their identity, standards and culture with a focus on leveling-up productivity, shifting mindsets and improving team cohesion. I help key decision makers, CEOs and managers develop authentic leadership skills that will enable them to radically drive performance metrics within their organizations. I now want to teach the individual how to live present in a distracted society so you will be a more connected, productive, and influential leader and teammate. Monumental change occurs only with the accumulation of the little things. Remember: it’s what all the big things are made from. Success isn’t something that happens to you. It’s something you attract, you choose, and you create. Successful people do the little things better than everyone else. This is what makes the best the best. World-class performers and the uber-successful. So with world full of twitter, FB and online pressures should you switch off from them all or just do the ones that are right for you? And when did he realise that he had it in himself to be able to make these changes occur with the people he works with? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Alan Stein Jr. Show Highlights We discussed so many deep subjects on the show such as: Why the elements of leadership don't change across the world, across whatever specialism. How do you make individual strengths into a winning team. Why its so easy to be distracted by the past and be anxious of the future with the focus of competition, comparison or other peoples highlights everywhere. Alan reveals the three stages of success that can make all the difference in the world, although this means "No overnight success for you" i'm afraid. And lastly……….. Alan shares how we can only control our attitude and effort. Forget about the things that are out of our hands and work on these two you will be good to go.

In today's episode of Join Up Dots David, talks about Motivation, and more importantly the lack of motivation. Over the last few weeks, David has been speaking many of the listeners of Join Up Dots who indicate their desire to change their lives. They all come through with a wish that they were earning more money, having more freetime and quite simply living the life that they see others living. However, most of them are never going to get this lifestyle, no matter how much they say they want it...due to lack of motivation. Motivation isn't something that simply appears like magic and covers you with the kind of superpower that can move mountains. It just doesn't work like that. You cant take a pill and get motivation. You cant ask a friend to keep you motivated. You simply need to find it deep within yourself and nurture that motivation to achieve that goal until you actually achieve it. Through running Join Up Dots, there will have been many times when the thought of recording another podcast episode would have been the last thing in the world that David wanted to do. Hey, there is Netflix and Amazon to watch after all. But that isn't important to the success of Join Up Dots. Those things will jeep you away from achieving your aim quicker than anything. So how do you find the motivation you want, when you aren't sure it is something that you truly want. How do you start the ball rolling when it seems too big even to move an inch forwards. Well, you do it in exactly the same way that you would going to work, bathing the kids, arranging date night with the wife. You place it as a thing to do in your daily routine. You add it to your favourite mobile app, to beep and make you turn off that TV and go and do it. You say to your friends "No I cant meet tonight as I have a 30 minute motivation session" Believe me, as you will hear on today's show it isn't too hard to get going, but its not going to happen on its own. You have to take responsibility to make that motivation happen. So go out and conquer and thrive in your own lives.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is a man i originally connected to as a listener of Join Up Dots and now is making his bow as a guest. Originally from Victoria Australia, he we won a bronze medal for Australia in men’s hockey in 2008, where he scored a goal in the 6-2 win over the Netherlands in the bronze medal final. His other successes with the Kookaburras include a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2005 Champions Trophy title. Now what makes this guy interesting to me is a couple of things for sure, not least is his desire to win and put himself into the firing line of competition. Firstly, unlike many players who enter the sport he was a late bloomer for sure, not making his international debut until the age of 25. Which asks the question, why so late? Was it just that he hadn’t found his natural swing in the sport, or was it something else that prevented the spotlight shining in his direction until later than most others. And secondly, with a natural talent in a very specific aspect of the game “the Online Drag Flick”, how did he take this and create a nice income for him and his family? Well as he says “I understand persistence is required in business as it was the same as a player, I was not a good player I just persisted longer and harder than most.” So is his strategy simply to hustle it out and bulldoze his way forward, or something else? And what has lead him now to come out of retirement and enter the game once more in the Masters category? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Luke Doerner Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Luke Doerner such as: Luke shares how he niche downed on a specific element of his sport to sell to the masses, but actually found that only the elite wanted his product. We chat about the period when Luke hadn’t quite committed to one particular sport, and then saw a dramatic change in his fortunes when he did. Luke confesses that missing out on Olympic Gold still bothers him, which shows the true competitive edge that he has to prove himself. and lastly…. Why sending a simple email, could sometimes be the thing that hold you back from a life of your dreams.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we talk about why it so important to build up your own personal belief which can deliver you to greatness. You see so many people look for outside influences for help in their lives and their businesses, when actually it's easier to grow the belief inside with your actions and successes. Add to that the belief that you can also have fun in your business then you are 100% cooking on gas. But most people in life struggle with this fact which is why Join Up Dots tries it's hardest to instill this belief into all of you. However todays  show focuses on the following three emails, and of course to get the answers you need to listen to the show Dear David, I have been listening to your amazing podcast for the last few weeks since I heard you on the Meaningful Money Podcast. I am surprised that I hadn't heard of you before, but now I am hooked. One thing I would like to know is, through the Steve Jobs speech he talks about believing in something to help you through the dark times. I believe in God, and gain great comfort from knowing that I am supported by my God. Can I ask you what do you believe in, as I would love to know, Kind Regards Ahmad Sharzir, Yorkshire. Now for the second question that came to us all the way from Canada. Hi David, loving the show. The vibe is so different from every other show I have listened to, but manages to deliver even more top class business advice. I haven't listened to every show so did you always mess around and make jokes, or has this developed over the years. Whatever the answer keep em coming - Brenda Mitchell, Quebec Canada. And finally, Hi David, thank you so much for answering this email if you have the time. I imagine that you get thousands of messages. I have been doing your free training course and one of the things that keeps on coming out of the content is my love of Xmas. Do you think that I could create a business around this time of year, who does this put all my eggs in one basket. Ie profit from November to December and nothing for the rest of the year - Gillian Articha, Bournemouth England. Thanks as always for listening to the show and for sharing with your mates, we couldn't do it all without it.

Today's guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is a lady who like most of us, hit a point in her career when she knew she wanted more in life. Then like most of us when she started building her business as a side hustle she looked for her ideal customer, and found out that her ideal customer was actually herself. As she says "I spent most of my 20’s hustling for the big life goals – getting ahead in my career, buying a house, getting married, saving money for retirement – checking all the boxes that are supposed to make you feel successful and accomplished. And although I was proud and grateful for the life I had created, I knew I wanted more. I was craving fulfillment in my work and the permission to be myself. Shortly after my 30th birthday, my awakening (or as I like to call it – third life crisis) began. Struggling with my weight, not feeling good enough, and hearing that deep inner calling that life was meant to be joyful, not full of pressure and anxiety. I was already seeing success building my “side hustle” on top of my full-time job, but that was also beginning to feel out of alignment. Showing up the way others were teaching me to build an online business was just creating more of that overwhelming pressure. I now clearly see that it was exactly what I needed to propel me into the work that I do today – helping other women get back in touch with themselves so they can create a business they love. Now the interesting part that of this was her realisation that the advice she was receiving was actually adding to more and more of overwhelming pressure. She believed that she was doing the right thing, by studying other people, but actually discovered that the truth was very very different. So when did she back out and start creating the path that was actually the right one for her and her family? And how does she know through her own coaching program that she isn't doing the same for her clients and presenting a world of overwhelm pressure. Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Robyn Chavarie Show Highlights During the show we touched on some deep rooted discussion points with RObyn such as: How and why it is so difficult for a lady to create her own future when she is trying to be something for everyone in their lives. Robyn shares her journey of experimentation, and the growth stage in her life when boredom lead her to assess everything.  Robyn realised that she was ok in asking for the cash right at the very beginning, which is a huge piece of the puzzle that people struggle with bigtime And lastly...... Why it is ok to say enough is enough in life, I am ready to be who I want to be and to hell with the consequences.

Todays guest joining us on the show is the founder of Freshbooks, the cloud accountancy company that you hear advertised on many podcasts across the globe. Now this isn't just a cloud accounting firm, but the world’s #1 cloud accounting software for self-employed professionals. Its a global hit, but his journey to creating this success was far from assured, even to the point of perhaps not even being part of the plan. You see most businesses are started from the position of an individual's pain with the service that they are getting, and deciding to go and do their own thing to solve this problem. And this was the case with today's guest. He was running a small design firm in 2003 when the frustration of billing his clients overwhelmed him — so he built his own solution. He moved into his parents’ basement for 3.5 years to save money and completely revamped how he ran his design firm (to the point where he worked 19 days in one year and generated over $200,000) to bootstrap FreshBooks to what it is today. Since launching in 2003, over 10 million people have used FreshBooks to save time billing and collect billions of dollars. As he says " I went through an incredibly scary time for 2.5 years while FreshBooks was rebuilding their entire platform, which is typically viewed in the software industry as the worst strategic mistake that a company can make. I even bounced back from a $1.5 million disaster — proving overcoming failure is possible, and often how to succeed in business to begin with." So its ok to say let's build this thing and solve this issue, but how do you start, where do you get the funding? And with more and more similar platforms being built, does this just increase his enjoyment everyday, or leave him in a whirl of panic? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Mike McDermott. Show Highlights During the discussion with the Mike McDermott from Freshbooks we hit such deep subjects such as:  Why you need to ask the question "Does the destination appeal to me" to truly work on the legacy of a passion project. We chat about the funding that you never thought you need when you start a business, but comes at you from every corner. Mike reveals why many of the metrics he chose to look at as success, are based around his employees happiness. Great way of operating in a business. And lastly......... Why life is a series of hard lefts no matter how much you try to make it a straight path. You just have to cling on and do your best.

On today's episode of Join Up Dots we share the story of an amazing listener in Israel, who after listening to the show, and reading many different types of self-development books has done what so few people do but started to create their success path the right way. It's amazing how many people that I speak to that either spend all the time researching and making lists with no action involved, or take all the action with no planning beforehand. Both strategies are full to the brim of failures and easy to hit obstacles. The best way is to create a detailed plan, do your market research, work hard and take huge action just like Neriya has done. So let's start off with the first email received at the show this week Just wanted to say thanks.. been listening to hundreds of your shows, I have the very worst job ever(pays off though, worst than garbage truck workers, not to be disrespectful) Helping me to build two businesses I’m extremely passionate about, working simultaneously on both my corporate job and my things about 15 hours a day all combined with ease.. thanks to your awesome podcast I realized what it takes to make a business and with that achieving my dreams and goals. Thanks you so much, Neriya. I of course went back, said thank you and asked for more information about the passion and tasks they have undertaken to which they responded with, quite simply a blueprint for success which is my delight to break down into its necessary chunks on todays show. My business is all around making fine leather items(wallets belts straps cases etc etc). The big idea is making everything completely by hand and with the finest materials the world has to offer, literally! It was quite the challenge figuring out the “hows” and “whys”. I started off about a year ago (naturally with relatively little passion), ordering pretty much the cheapest tools I could actually afford and best materials I thought are the best but really far from it. I went on YouTube and watched literally every leather related video(mostly tutorials) Quick enough realized all of those videos was consists of pretty much hobbyists, obviously no one would teach you how to hand-stitch and work leather like Louis Vuitton and Hermes for free. Some leather artisans do teach but it costs a lot and where I’m from there are “zero” leather artisans so flight out the country was huge investment I couldn’t afford (still can’t:) I did a TON of research and by that I mean like 5 to 7 dedicated hours a day, everyday, 6 months straight and by that time I managed to develop a very simple, systematic and effective way to learn from the very best without even bothering them and it applies to all kinds of crafts. I also discovered what materials and tools Hermes LV and other top leather companies use and where to get them. it was not easy and there are almost none online stores to supply what I needed, I had to personally contact these rare suppliers I found and custom order from them, like a merchant would but at the beginning, with a typical mindset of a casual online consumer I just didn’t( that was one of many blocks I had). Your genius podcast and some books like “Sam-Walton”, “rich dad poor dad” and more, helped me tremendously!especially your podcast for being very relevant and contemporary. Plus it removed all those fears and blocks I had. One of the things I love the most in your on your podcast (your hilarious jokes aside) is the Jim Carrey quote which I recognized with a lot. So even if you do fail on doing what you love you most likely won’t die you won’t starve and you’d probably live a decent life anyways, genius! I have something I was wondering about for quite some time, about 5 years ago I used to smoke cigarettes quite a lot and I wanted to stop, I tried again and again and just couldn’t stop. One day my brother came to me, surprised me with a book called “the easy way to stop smoking” by Allen Carr, so I read it and exactly as the title says I stopped with ease as if it was magic, so I RAN to my smoking relatives and friends trying to convince them in any way I can to just give it a shot, unfortunately unsuccessfully and It was the same with business coaching and your podcast. The funny thing is that they actually do believe me but just don’t go for it. Are they too addicted to their convenient life/smoking habits? In your experience, why do think it’s like that?

Todays guest joining us on the show is a 34 year old, husband, father of 3, engineer, sports fan and huge geek when it to comes to automating and outsourcing any activity. He is the co-founder of adbank network - a powerful online ad platform built on the blockchain, as well as co-founding a successful digital asset acquisition firm that controls over 6000 websites generating 6 figures a month. As he says "I am no genius, I HAVE NOT found a loop hole on the internet that lets anyone get rich quick, I have not quit my job but because of my online income I am able to live the way I want to and have a level of security for my family a job today cannot provide. Unfortunately, I can’t say that making money from websites is easy but through my ventures I hope to show you that without a doubt it is possible and with hard work most people that commit themselves can do it. For the last 5 years I have built up over 150 websites and use these to generate passive income, I am not an online guru I am just someone who has tried and tested many different methods. I am willing to test any system as long as it stays aligned with my online business cornerstone beliefs. My Internet Marketing Beliefs… Always add value Google wants to deliver the “best” result so be the “best” A website visitor is a renewable resource to be cultivated not something to be mined once,  enjoy what you do online. Many people may disagree with my beliefs and suggest there is a faster way to make money online. They may be right, but what our guest is doing is building businesses that operate the way that the search engines want. Building relationships, by nurturing those relationships. Not chasing some get rich quick scheme, that fades as soon as the big boys realise someone is gaming the system. So how did he develop his internet marketing beliefs, through building businesses that dropped like a stone, or simply by understanding what GOOGLE is aiming for? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Jon Gillham. Show Highlights We discussed so many deep subjects on the show such as: Jon talks about the shortcuts routes that he took for business that all led to failure before he realised that real work was needed to make the success he wanted. We discuss the blockchain strategy that is creating a completely new and exciting way for businesses to start operating across the world. And lastly........... Jon shares the discussion that he had with his parents, and friends who considered his route to success to be somewhat risky.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is a man who has been floating around my world it seems from the birth of Join Up Dots. Having been an entrepreneur for 30 years, to say I’ve seen a few things is an understatement. I’ve definitely had more fails than successes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I sold my fitness business which I owned for 9 years a year ago to start teaching other entrepreneurs how to use story to sell. It's storytelling that is the real power of growing an online business. Then I realized that most small business owners don’t follow up with their leads, so I started teaching them how to create follow up system so they could have a conversation to share their story and make more sales. Then of course I realized that some of those small business owners wanted to speak but didn’t know how to be more dramatic with their stories. With my degree in theatre I am able to help my clients create a performance out of their presentations so it’s not the same boring presentation audiences are unfortunately used to seeing. I believe all business owners deserve the right to be successful by doing the work necessary to achieve that success, which starts with being able to sell effectively. And storytelling is the best way to do it. As he says "There likely isn’t a business issue that I haven’t seen or experienced. I’ve seen it. I’ve been through it and I’ve come out on the other end all the better for it. But it hasn’t always been that way. Like most start-ups and small business owners, I struggled to make ends meet. On a personal note, he is also a private pilot and enjoys flying around the great state of Texas. Why? Because I can! So why does he want to do this entrepreneurial stuff as certainly more often than not its easier to work for someone else? And looking back through the dots, are there things that he would change or do they all lead him to where he is today? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Tom Jackobs Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting storytelling conversations with Tom Jackobs around subjects such as: Why the easiest part of creating business success is always right under your nose, even though it takes you awhile to actually see it. Tom shares the reasons why you should never start a presentation or joke by advising "This is soooo funny, you will love this!" Why he pushes himself to get out of his comfort zone at every opportunity, as he sees this to be where true growth starts. And lastly We discuss why the online and offline world really have to work hand in hand for a business to be truly successful.

It's a funny old world that we live in nowadays. A world of love, creativity, but also extreme bitterness and hostility. You see everywhere we go, everyone we speak to has an instant ability to critique and be mean from a distance. We see this all the time on social media, whereby some keyboard warrier, who is sitting behind their devices can throw spears of hatred. However, behind these comments there is always a deeper message for the sending as you will hear in today's show as a response to the following email received in this week for the show. "Ralph, wow what a show. Or should i say wow what a joke you are. I have listened to one of your episodes and believe me i wont be listening to anymore. It was called Free Time, when you wasted twenty minutes of my life telling me how wonderful yours is as you can take a month off when you want to. Its funny that you felt the need to tell us, as being a podcaster, or should I say someone who wants the world to love them so tells them what they want them to hear it's not a job. You can take time off from anything that isn't a job. Hey, im an astronaut today, let's chill instead. You make me want to vomit. Anyone can do what you do, but we don't as we have proper jobs to do, and have to go to work as we don't have a choice. We live by the clock without escape. So don't try to tell me that I can change my life just by making a few mindset changes, give me a million dollars so I can make those changes instead. That my friend is one thing your show will never ever deliver to any of us. You are full of shit. Your show is shit. And no matter how great your life seems to be, it will also be shit. That is what life is and you can't tell me otherwise. So what makes someone think such extreme thoughts? Is it simply they were having a bad day, or something far more deep routed....who knows? However in todays show, David Ralph discusses this email and sends out a positive response to the sender to connect with him directly. Thanks for listening to the episode and any comments drop us a line. Cheers David

Today's guest is an expert on Smart Investments, he is the creator and founder of the Smart Asset Opportunities  After 12 years serving in the military and over 20 years running a successful private practice, he realized if he didn’t alter his course he’d be trading hours for dollars forever. It was this belief that led him to launch Smart Asset Opportunities. In just four years, he has been involved in projects totaling over $100 million, and owns 40+ single family homes, 14 ATM’s, a coffee farm in Panama, apartment complexes, office parks, storage units, and ownership in a Belizean resort. As he says "After over 20 years of running a successful small business in rural Missouri, we seemingly “woke up” to the realization we were not on the path to a comfortable retirement, a course of not knowing when we would be able to transition out of the business. We truly did not have a plan to replace our transactional income – the exchanging of our hours for dollars. We needed some Smart Investments for sure. Truthfully, we felt stuck. Fast forward two years and our passive income from our investment endeavors has exceeded that of our practice income. The driving factor of this change was our mindset; we took control of our lives, our future and decided financial freedom doesn’t have just one path. We surrounded ourselves with like-minded individuals on the same journey and with the same aspirations. We sought out opportunities to learn more and partner with others in lucrative joint ventures. We understood our WHY and became intentional about taking action. These days we are dedicated to our new passion: helping others achieve their success. It is far more rewarding, interesting and exciting than lounging around on a beach, and we’re enjoying every second of it. Our WHY is to help others find their path to the financial freedom we found with their own Smart Investments. So it's ok to say, let's change direction and do something different but how do you upskill and make these changes occur? And is it still fun and exciting to be building what they have, or getting more and more like a job? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Ross Stryker. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ross Stryker such as: We share the dawning realisation when he realised that his retirement was not going to be as comfortable as he and his wife hoped and the actions he then took. Why it is so important to start surrounding yourself with the kind of people that you want to become in your life. Dont look for less but look higher up the ladder. Ross shares why he loves, what he is doing for the reasons because it was hard, more than anything else. It's the challenge that lights him up inside. and lastly…. Why we can learn from other peoples mistakes, much more cheaply and quickly than we can hope to do ourselves. So study other peoples route to success.

Today's guest is a lady who loves to "Start With Why" everyday, but that perhaps wasn't always the case. However as soon as I heard about her daily hustle and drive to achieve a dream not just for herself, but for eight complete strangers then I knew I had to have her on the show. And so I did, back on episode 233 of Join Up Dots where we discussed the creation of her My Million To One programme whereby she was on a mission to raise one million pounds to provide housing for eight disabled children that she first met when volunteering in Africa. She was asked to help whilst volunteering in the area and quickly approached a couple of local charities who agreed to help by adopting the children and providing them a home on the proviso that she found money every year to pay for the children’s home. Seems simple, part of the start with why strategy? Well throw into the mix money for all their needs, education and rehabilitation costs – and guarantee that the money would be provided for their lifetimes then it seems daunting to say the least.. So… she challenged herself to raise £1 million – enough to build the orphanage itself and then enough money to sit in a bank, so the centre can survive off the interest payments. Now she has added even more charitable hustle and adventure into her life by starting Plucky Us, born from the people that she met previously As she says " When I was setting up My Million To One programme I set out to network with other entrepreneurs.  I expected to find a lot of other people who were positive & ambitious & trying something different but I didn't: I just met a lot of people who weren't like me at all and who didn't really understand or want to help. The people that did help me to build & promote it in the end were actors, adventurers, athletes, musicians (to name a few) and only scattered amongst them were there other people establishing similar businesses. What EVERYONE had in common though was a positive, ambitious outlook, determination, drive and a desire to be the best that they could be.  They were all successful, outgoing people who helped others: people who both inspired and encouraged. They did understand the start why why concept and why it was so powerful. As MMTO grew, an organic community formed around it of these wonderful people.  MMTO members had become friends and they were telling me about exciting projects that they were working on and I found myself CREATING CONNECTIONS between members (introducing them to one another, forwarding each other their proposals) when I saw how they could help each other achieve their chosen goals. The members in question were often in different industries and sometimes different countries but - when presented with their hopes & dreams - it was clear how they could match & empower each other and MORE IMPORTANTLY I knew that they would also GET ON WELL because they were LIKE MINDED, OUTGOING PEOPLE. So how did this lady come to find herself in Africa volunteering in the first place? And why does she think that entrepreneurs in the business world, are unlikely to help in the same way as the creative folk are? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Alana Hurd. Show Highlights During the episode we discussed such weighty topics such as: How Alana walked into a world of business and health issues with all the naivety that she could muster, until realising that success comes by rest as much as hustle. Alana shares  the problems of building your mindset to look at No's as just one more step closer to gaining the big Yes's your business needs. Why Start With Your Why is such simple advice, but one that so many people ignore until it is truly too late. And lastly........ We talk about connecting with the super successful without care, as more often than not they will bend over backwards to help you in your pursuit for success.

In todays show, hosted by David Ralph, we talk about free time, and how to build more of it into our lives. With the biggest question, and the biggest surprise being...do we actually want to have free time in our lives? You see most of us are building our lives around routine and responsibilities. We get up when our alarm says we have to get up, we deal with the things that life says we have to deal with, and then look at free time as something that is never going to happen. We push past the belief that we can choose our own time, and can actually make the decisions in our business to be free from the hassles and inconveniences. But we can make every decision in our own life. We can take control of the free time that we have, and make it more and more and more, why still becoming more successful in our lives. So how do we do it, (and of course you will hear a lot more in today's episode of Join Up Dots), how do we protect the time that we have to grow the roots of freedom? Firstly, we need to look at the work that we need to do, against the work that we are just doing because we always have done it. We need to see where the true value of the task is for us. Is it actually rewarding us for its completion or just something to tick off our list? Secondly, we need to block out time in our schedule to make sure that things we want to do can occur. It's no good saying "I want more free time, if when you get it you haven't got a clue as to what you want it for!" Which actually was a situation that I found myself in, when I started rewarding myself for the work that I have done in my life, and then ended up bored with the free time. I blocked off a whole month, made sure that the work was all completed and then sat around thinking "I think I would have preferred to be working as this is boring" Things are so different nowadays, with fun, vacations, day outs and excitement to fill my time with and recharge the batteries. I knew what I wanted the free time for, and went out and made it occur. So do you find yourself looking for things in your life to escape the norm, but dont think you have the time and resources to make it happen? Then this show is for you. Enjoy.

You Need To See How Success Is Built (and Lost) To Be A Real Success Insider..Ben Fewtrell Is That Man

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at MaxMyProfit and author of the Business Exceleration Blueprint, is a sought-after advisor, keynote speaker and trainer. He has been featured in ‘Secrets of TopBusiness Builders Exposed’, Virgins in-flight magazine, Sky Business and many more. He started his first business at the age of 18, where he built it to be a multi-millions dollar business with 64 trucks on the road in just 4 years. As impressive as it sounds, he was working ridiculous long hours and not making any money! By the age of 28 he was over it, and just knew there had to be a better way. After selling his transport company, he decided to pursue his passion for business and spent many years and tens of thousands of dollars learning what it takes to build a successful business. This led him to personally mentoring and coaching hundreds of business owners in dozens of industries, building his own multi-million dollar business in the process. He likes to have fun in both life and business, so is perfect for a show like Join Up Dots So why was he making no money when he had a multi million pound business in his hands? And is this a similar failing of most new entrepreneurs that he encounters? They are doing all the work but not getting the rewards? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Ben Fewtrell  Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ben Fewtrell such as: How there are three types of businesses, you are either employed, self employed or you have a business. A business is where you can leave it alone and it will still make you money by operating. Ben shares how he almost when bust by trying to grow a business bigger than himself a this time. You need to work to your limits and then scale from that point. Through changing twelve jobs within twelve months he found out a very important lesson: He cant work for someone else and never has since. and lastly…. How some of his clients just cant be pushed into seeing a new way of operating. As he Ben says "They either breakthrough or they breakdown."

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is an expert in Instagram and a lady that if you opened her up would have entrepreneur written all the way through her. Actually she was back on the show on episode 259, where we talked about her early journey where she was creating an online identity and profile, alongside a brick and mortar business in the holistic world of Kinesiology, which is a holistic approach of simultaneously treating all the aspects of a person, emotional, nutritional, structural and energetic needs, whilst still working for the man.  This came about after spending a number of years suffering from a vast array of illness and discomfort, she discovered this form of treatment and founded the company Body Sync in 2010, to take her understanding and training out into the world to help others. But she needed to pivot as quite simply, although she was treating her patients to feel great,  the business was making her ill again, as the hours were grinding her into the ground. So she did what so many people do and took the learnings from all this action taking and positioned herself as the Digestion Detective  which was a franchised online show, found in ITunes and available on UK Health Radio each week, where she talked and discussed health issues. And now it seems that she has gone in a different direction, and has niched down to a tighter model, teaching health care professionals and others how to gain massive visibility online. She has seen that her colleagues are struggling to get their message out to the world, and with her Instagram coaching, podcasting school and other platforms she is showing them the way to get noticed. As she says "Having a thriving online business isn’t hard once you know a few things and who better to learn from than someone who has made every single mistake possible and still here doing her thing. " So does she look back and slap her head with a "If I only knew then what i know now how life would have been different" And is she surprised at how little people actually know today, when we are all attached to our online profiles and content like never before. Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Sam Bearfoot Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Sam Bearfoot such as: We discuss how and why people are continuing to make the same mistakes online that they have always done, even though they could find the easy way through to the gold. We share the first steps to creating Instagram success, by deciding who your customers are, and focusing the content on them, not necessarily all about yourself. Why Instragram coaching is just the starting point, and success from high numbers only comes by being consistent and posting at regular intervals and lastly…. We show the world has success online is created, by the open and frank discussion as to entrepreneurial life. Sam has created an Instagram success due to her 15 years of persistence.

Today's episode as is normal for a Fridays show, is a hybrid between keeping you advised as to what is happening in the world of Join Up Dots, and answering a few listener questions. Well, let's start with the show first and foremost. If you have been keeping up with the new routine that we now operate you will know that October has been a rest month for the host of Join Up Dots. Being aware that a business can not operate on a low battery, has pushed David into finding a way that he can bring the business under his control and not the other way around. He has done that by compressing his activities into a four week burst of activity, and then protecting the following week like his life depended on it. Making sure that he utilized batching methods, Parkinson's law and also the 80/20 principle which he is a huge believer in. If you want more free time in your life, and increase your earnings exponentially then as he says "You must think about what you are doing, and what your customer needs most. Cut out all the wasted time that you think is productive, and just do what they truly need." It really has been a game change for sure, and allows for true focus, money building, and great ideas to flow into your brain. Now for some questions from the listeners of Join Up Dots "Hi David, I am a 26 year old female originally from Jakarta in Malaysia, but now living in Holland. I love your show and all the interesting stories that you give us. I am in a job that i dont like and find very unfulfilling. My passion is to create a business around Yoga, and specifically Pranayama, which is the formal practice of controlling the breath, which is the source of our prana, or vital life force. This seems so specific that I wonder if I could manage to build a business around this. Any suggestions I would truly appreciate it."  Adelia, Amsterdam. The second question this week is from John from Cheshire who asks "David what is the first thing that you do each day in your business. I would love some guidance as I spend much of my time deciding to do something and not actually doing anything" And now the last question from the Join Up Dots listeners comes from M. Archer from Tupelo, Mississippi who wants more guidance in regards to finding money from her Toy Making business.  "Hello David, over the last few years I have been working on a toy making business. These are small knitted replicas of friends and family. They send me pictures and then I make small models of them. I love doing it, as its very therapeutic. But it is also time consuming so the money I can charge for the toys, is nowhere near what my hourly wage would be in a job. Any suggestions as to how I can develop this business that I love into one that I can do full time?"   Thank you as always for you your time and listening to the show.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is a man who has been at the very top of his career, and now is on a mission to go even higher. He is a former American football center and commercial actor. He played college football at Purdue, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft, earning a Super Bowl ring with the Steelers in Super Bowl XL (40) against the Seattle Seahawks. He has also been a member of the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans, and is now a Master Practitioner in Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). With his brand, Basic Instructions, he helps executives, athletes and others to access the resources within themselves to achieve the life experience they desire. As he says "In NLP, there’s a saying: the conscious mind is the goal setter, and the unconscious mind is the goal-getter. Your unconscious mind is not out to get you–rather, it’s out TO GET FOR YOU whatever you want in life. However, if you don’t know how to communicate what you want properly, it will keep bringing steaming bowls of liver stew out of the kitchen. Whatever it is, realize that your unconscious mind only does that because it thinks that’s what you want. (“Sir, here is your procrastination along with a side of anxiety. I’ve also told the valet to bring up your emotional baggage as per your request. Will you be needing anything else?”) You see there is a lot going on inside us which we just haven't got a clue that it's holding us back from ever getting ourselves into the end zone, for lifes touchdown. So as he worked tirelessly in his football career did he always have an eye on the next stage of his life? And where do people go wrong in life in his view...working hard for the wrong things, are not working hard enough for the right things? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Chukky Okobi Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Chukky Okobi such as: Chukky shares how the repetition of practicing time and time again can be so powerful, as it leads us to know how its going to feel at the right time Why it is so important to mentally set out your own steps, whilst not being prescribed by others and what they expect of us day to day. and lastly…. Chukky reveals how the biggest obstacle that people face in their lives is their own personal belief structure. What they believe they can achieve often gets stopped before it ever has a chance to come to life.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast is a man who has built a thriving business around SEO. Yeah, as we know Search and being found is a huge part of business success He has worked extensively in SEO since 2013, trying and testing all of the primary strategies to see what is most effective to boost rankings and organic traffic. Tom spearheaded the success of Life Coach Spotter to 20,000+ unique monthly visitors from organic traffic. As he says "I grew up in the suburbs of Long Island, New York, a 3rd-generation Italian. I went to public school and excelled in sports. I studied Philosophy at Providence College and spent a lot of time reading and learning from ancient philosophers. After graduating from college, I went off to work on Wall Street, day trading at a proprietary equities firm in Manhattan. In 2013 I started digital marketing for LifeCoachSpotter.com where I learned SEO from the ground up. I struggled with SEO for Life Coach Spotter for years, trying every tactic the so-called “experts” had recommended. When I finally “figured it out”, I knew I had to share my own expertise to drive results for other businesses who were struggling with their own SEO.  Most of what experts advise drives little to no impact. There are only 3 areas to focus on to drive impact for your site’s SEO:  links, optimization, and content. That’s it.  I spent years banging my head against the wall so that now you don’t have to.  It’s both fun and profitable to get monthly recurring traffic back to your business’s website. Today I serve a number of clients through my SEO agency Sure Oak.  We work with clients from around the world and I am lucky to have a passionate and dedicated team to work with who is well-versed in SEO, content-marketing, technical development, outreach, and more.  I am forever grateful to the amazing team at Sure Oak. So are the days of black hat, white hat techniques long gone, or just simmering below the surface for the next SEO fad to appear? And how does he market his own company, free traffic or paid? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Tom Casano Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Tom Casano such as: Why organic traffic is such a powerful and under used form of traffic generation, that pays you back time and time again. Tom shares how his first 50 blog posts led to crickets in his business, but it taught him so much as to what actually works in SEO.  and lastly…. We discuss why it is such a good idea to walk away from a business when it gets really hard, just to allow yourself space to find an easier way.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with many bold titles given to him from companies across the world. The Marketing Journal calls him one of “The Best Minds in Marketing,” Fast Company Magazine calls him a “Human Exclamation Point,” The Economist calls him “off -putting to some,” and Newsweek calls him, “The Howard Stern of Entrepreneurialism.” Which isnt easy to say all in one breath. But there is no doubt that he is a man who is rocking and rolling everyday and has found the thing that lights him up inside even if that wasnt the case at the beginning. He’s a dyslexic paperboy from Montreal with Scottish roots, and at 18 got thrown out of school, and with no other options he started a company. He served as chief marketing officer of software juggernaut Mercury Interactive which was acquired by acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2006 for $4.5 billion, co-founded marketing consulting firm LOCHHEAD, was the founding CMO of Internet consulting firm Scient, and served as head of marketing at Vantive, an CRM software firm. And then after 30 years in business he retired and it seems to me started having the real type of fun that makes a life what it is. And now he is the host of “The Podcast Silicon Valley Needs” — Legends & Losers, and the co-author of Harper Collins’ “instant classic,” Play Bigger: How Pirates, Dreamers and Innovators Create and Dominate Markets. Through his podcast he has 100% unscripted long form interviews with some fascinating folk, who haven’t appeared on every podcast under the sun and are fascinating with a capital F. So what made him retire at such a young age, and did he find it hard to fill the hole in his life? And where does he see his life going now….more and more into the media world, or simply exploring where the fun is in life? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Christopher Lochhead. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Christopher Lochhead such as: How he started low middle class, and has hustled his way to where he is today, but knows 100% that he couldn’t have done it without the business partner that he found. Christopher shares how the legendary people in life don’t get lucky, but that do position themselves to be in the place to receive the luck if it arrives. Doing, reading and finding a mentor are the three ways that we should operate in life, something that Christopher does religiously. and lastly…. Do your homework, learn the process and focus on the solution to a problem. That is how a business is made, which is why so many people screw up on this. They don’t do the basics.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is the host of Money For the Rest of Us, one of the most downloaded podcasts for Investing in the world with over 6 million downloads. As he says “I help investors have enough to retire. Managing your own investments can be isolating at times. No one to talk shop with. Cheer you on. Reaffirm you’re doing the right thing. Help you not to overreact to the latest financial headlines. While I’ve managed billions of dollars professionally for institutional clients and co-led a large investment research team, I don’t do that anymore. Now my biggest financial challenge is the same as yours: making sure I have enough money to retire and that those resources last. Here’s the thing. We are better investors when we have a sounding board— a community to share what we’re thinking, what we’re learning, the mistakes we make, and what we’re doing with our investments. Money For the Rest of Us is for people like you and me who aren’t relying on someone else to make sure we have enough to retire. We’ve taken control of our financial future. But just because you choose to manage your own investment portfolio doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. Let’s take this financial journey together.” Prior to launching his podcast, he was Chief Investment Strategist and Chief Portfolio Strategist at Fund Evaluation Group, LLC, a $33 billion investment advisory firm, where he co-headed the 21-person research group. He also co-founded the firm’s $2.2 billion asset management division where he developed its investment philosophy and process and was the lead portfolio manager. So is it a risky gaming investing, or one built on sure footing? And has a life of travel become the real wealth from creating his online business? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only David Stein Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with David Stein around subjects such as: David shares how it took him a few years to find his place in the online world after leaving his home job, and the steps he took to get there. Why David feels that batching his work is not the fit that suits him, although I think it is amazing and should be done at all costs. And lastly…….. We discuss how any coach that is worth their weight in gold should be more focused on teaching more and more to their clients, in effect teaching themselves in the progress.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is with on of the co founders of a content creation service called contentrefined.com Content Refined was born from a desire to simplify the process of content creation. As they say “With our clients, we want to have the personal touch and mutual respect of an in-house marketing team, but without the cost of in-house employees. To accomplish this, we pair each client up with a Project Manager. That PM works with the client on assessing their needs and competitive content strategy, then develops an individualized team of writers (native English speakers), editors, and publishers based on that strategy. We work through a systematized and data-driven process, combined with a dependency for very well-written and engaging articles, to produce quality content with every order. Our clients have widely diverse backgrounds and needs, from SaaS Businesses, to Portfolio Managers and Amazon Affiliates, to eCommerce Store Owners, and other unique sites, we produce content that is perfect for you and your specific needs. So was this a business that was easy to set up and get clients ready to buy their services? And now they have a team working hard on growing the business, does this make it easier or more difficult to allow the business to stay under their control? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Madeline Taylor Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Madeline Taylor around subjects such as: We discuss why negative comments are so hard to deal with when starting a business but actually should be the ones we aim to learn from most. Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is a man who has dived deep into the world of sharks. He is the owner of The Sharks & Stripes Conference & Expo which is for military entrepreneurs, veteran owned businesses and private sector entrepreneurs/small business owners. This is a conference that features the powerful entrepreneur panel presentation featuring some of the most successful Shark Tank entrepreneurs and focuses on helping those in our Armed Forces who have the entrepreneurial spirit.  He aims to help those leaving the military transition into a new world of entrepreneurial ventures. However behind the scenes our guest has been battling a very different kind of challenge. Back in 2005 our guest was very ill indeed, after being diagnosed with a disease which there is NO CURE!  As he says "I have a great story of how I did this on the brink of bankruptcy and through immense pain and sickness from the powerful drugs and therapy I was enduring when diagnosed. But thanks to the hustle I have self published my "Conversations With Shark Tank Winners multimedia book," partnered with some of the biggest organizations for entrepreneurs and small business owners, toured the US with these organizations, have partnered with some of the most successful shark tank entrepreneurs, all the while diagnosed with a major illness." So what was his life like before this rude awakening...floating through like most of us or as focused and determined as he is now? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Rey Ybarra Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Rey Ybarra around subjects such as: We discuss why it is such a powerful method to tap into a business that already has an audience interested in that subject. You can shave years of your progress. Why Americans love to show the success and in fact celebrate success in a far greater degree than the Europeans.  Rey talks about the dark times in his life, when his illness took hold of him and why this is so similar to the entrepreneurial journey. And lastly Rey shares why it is so important to delay gratification to truly be able to understand and accept the reward for what it is.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who is joining a merry bunch of former guests who have appeared on the show twice, back on episode 271 He is Inc. columnist, Professor of leadership, entrepreneurship, and hustling, and Entrepreneur, MBA, Astrophysics PhD, studied with Nobel Laureates and also swam across the Hudson river and almost drowned in the process. Yep, you thought he was really clever up to that point didn’t you! As he told us last time on the show “I do what I love in life and do my best to cut out what I don’t. Loving what you do means you will do more than if you don’t, so I’ve accomplished a few things to high levels while enjoying the process. I’ve also made my life easy and fun. I think anyone can. In fact I think making life easy and fun is easy and fun, so love what you do while accomplishing more than you thought you could too.” And it certainly seems that he is a man of his word. And now he is bringing his experience to the world in written form after converting a course that he has taught for years with the soon to be released book Leadership Step by Step This is a book that offers that rare breed of learning—genuine, authentic, effective, engaging, and, most of all, fun. It is based on the best leadership philosophy and practice. As it says on the book “The results of doing its exercises insure that you will become an authentic, great leader, able to serve and to live to the best of your ability. Anyone who aspires to lead, to lead more effectively, or to live life to its fullest would benefit from Joshua’s exercises. This is true for business, public service, the social sector, the arts, education, and any sphere where leaders serve.” So how has he managed to bring the word “fun” to the forefront of his business, when so many people think that this is for the weekend, or for kids? And is he a trailblazer for this, or is there more and more leadership experts looking at the “F” word as something that is how we should all be operating? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show once more to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Joshua Spodek

On today’s episode of Join Up Dots as normal for a Friday show, David Ralph answers a couple of questions from listeners across the world, and even brings back the words greatest competition – The Gargle Game. Lets start however with a rating and review on Itunes which then lead me to connect with the chap to say thank you, and gain some advice of my own. This is from an English guy called Steven Harper, who is a musician, teacher and opera singer in the UK. “Thanks David for all the work that you have put into the podcast. I really appreciate it, it has been a kick up the bum that was needed to get me out of a complacent slump. My job is teaching singing and piano and i never considered that my students would be taking my work one day and for less money. Now I am trying to become Steven Harper music teacher and and not just an anonymous teacher. I have listened to all 1000 plus podcast and looking forward to the next 100.” Now what Steven is doing there is talking 100% about gaining a personal brand. He is building celebrity into his work, so people see him as more than the normal and subsequently will seek him out to gain tuition and be accepting of higher prices. This takes a focused approach in regards to putting more of himself out into the world, through visuals, youtube channels, podcasts and live videos of his students transformations. People don’t want to play the piano, they actually want to see people who are playing sexy tunes and becoming like them. That is the real transformation that makes a business fly, as the world wants the outcomes as quickly as possible. Now the second question came from a listener in Belgium, by the name of Henry Madsen, who asked “David, I have heard you say on previous shows that 95% of businesses fail within the first five years. What do you think is the reason for this? And any suggestions as to what you would advise myself in trying to start my own business…..kind regards Henry Madsen” The answer to this is quite simple as you will hear on today’s show. A business fails due to not selling another of their products, and this comes down to two main reasons. Either they aren’t getting the traffic, or even worse they build a product that nobody wants it. Enjoy and I hope to hear from everyone who loves this episode and has ideas of starting their own business.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is a man who last appeared on the show back in 2017  when he connected with us after being a listener for awhile. Back then he was trying to find his way to becoming the master of his own future, creating his own business, and finding clients. He wanted his own business more than anything and had several ideas as to businesses he potentially had the skills for. Well since that conversation he has started his business Cassus Media back in August 2017, and officially left his last employer in January 2018 to strike out on his own as an entrepreneur. Cassus Media is a digital marketing solutions agency, originally launched with the idea of creating marketing videos which has now expanded into full-service organic social media and pay per click management services for small to mid-size businesses. He has worked with clients from around the United States and even the world in just the short time he's been in business, most notably from Norway, Sicily, and Ethiopia. Now the entrepreneurial journey is not easy for sure, and he has gone through some very difficult challenges with his career, not least being discharged from the military abruptly after making some mistakes caused by traumatic events in his teenage years, of which he's now overcome and is thriving, and becoming recently single. He also has ploughed into the life of not knowing if his efforts will come to anything, but being excited by where he is heading, in his words "The sky is the limit in the coming years" So what was the hardest part of taking the leap and becoming his own boss? And is the true battle one with the outside world of actually within his own head? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Paul Cassarly Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Paul Cassarly around subjects such as: Paul shares how he created his first business without clearly defining the needs of his customer and how to service them. We discuss why it is a bad thing to put all your eggs into one basket, and the reasons why you have to diversify your offerings. Why the coaching business is such an amazing way to create a quick business, due to the personal interaction that you can get. And lastly........ Why niche, niche, niche until you become the category of one is the easiest way for business success.

Today’s guest, joining us on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is a man who has been ready to join up his dots for quite awhile. Overcoming huge odds earlier in his life, he now loves to share that story to inspire others to do the same. He likes nothing more than connecting with entrepreneurs to motivate them to “do big things” in the world. Inspiring them by his own story as much as the actions that he takes everyday. His story begins in an average family where he had to work for everything he had. He started “at the bottom” and worked his way into the American Dream. In fact, dropping out of high school, until he went back to get his degree and even went to college... ending up on a popular reality TV show. As a guy who started his working life stocking shelves on the overnight shift at a giant retailer, he has seen the spectrum. Now he grows and scales companies, using real-world experience to make this happen. His most recent company is on track to do $25 million in gross revenues. He is a serial entrepreneur who develops systems to help other entrepreneurs run multiple companies without having to be there. In 2012 Mike appeared on the ABC television show Extreme Weight Loss, losing 255 pounds. He has overcome a stutter. He has gone from the bottom of the corporate ladder to the top of the mountain... and he loves helping others do the same. So why did he appear to lack consistency and desire when younger, but now has it in spades? And what is it about his life that he loves the most now he is rocking and rolling? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Michael Giannulis Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Michael Giannulis around subjects such as: Michael shares how at the age of five he was already five stone thanks to the eager feedings habits of his grandmother. We discuss how to create content that continues to pay you back forever. Evergreen is the key to a lovely relaxed life if you do it right. Dark sides exist in every business no matter what it is, but how do you get through them and into the light? And lastly Michael reveals why money is not important to him, and what he truly feels is the gold to be gained.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady from Melbourne Australia who has one belief in life. That all of us are capable of being a bigger, brighter version of ourselves than we give ourselves the opportunity to be. Her official bio states that she is "is a best-selling author, workplace well being teacher and playful change activator" which is of course true but is not something that occurs by magic. Back in 1994, she was working for PR Works as a general manager where she built a profitable IT portfolio, as well as creating a media training service for CEOS. Which I find fascinating, as someone who is now firmly entrenched in the people development world, this wasn't an area of her life that just burst into being after several decades. It was there right at the beginning, which grew larger in her next job as a PR Manager for Sausage Software. But it seems to me that things moved up a gear when performing the position at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, as their international leadership coach, where she worked across the world to implement the companies brand strategy using Positive Psychology theories across their culture. And then there comes the time where our guest could have continued to rise up the ranks in corporate land, gaining the salary and working tirelessly to build someone else dream. But our guest had other ideas, and left to create her own company and her own dream, after completing her Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) at the University of Pennsylvania And with a career history scattered with roles lasting a couple of years or so, it appears that she has truly found her thing, as she has stayed where she is ever since. Developing her company, bringing in bigger clients and well......loving it. As she says "I'm passionate about bringing out the best in people, particularly at work. Fusing Neuroscience and Positive Psychology into tested, practical actions, I create happier, more rewarding and more profitable workplaces for employees, their bosses and their organisations." And who wouldn't love to do something that you are passionate about everyday. That is the dream after all. So when did she get the inkling that building her business was awaiting for her? And was it scary time or "Hell yeah, lets get going?" And is there a similar theme that stops most companies, and the employees of those companies operate at the highest level? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Michelle McQuaid.

In today’s episode of Join Up Dots we look at what makes a successful business and why so many people nowadays truly go the hard way to success. But first of all lets start with answering a few questions from listeners across the world who have been following the show. The first one, is less of a question and more of a statement, but it comes from a guy in Perth Australia, who I have had the pleasure to connect with a chat to over the last few months. His name is Craig and he is an English guy living and working in Australia, who mention that he often lacks focus and will allow days to drift into weeks without achieving what he truly wants. He said “David, I need some of that focus you have! I love how you are able to visualise and attack! Has it always been a skill of yours or is it learned? Of course to hear the answer you will need to listen to the show….we cant have people just reading a podcast and not giving us our ears after all. The second question that comes from a lady also in Australia called Ebony Richards from Hobart Australia, is in regards to creating success and the mistakes that I have made in the past. She says “David Ralph, podcasting legend. Why did it take so long for you to come into my life. I am well and truly hooked and listen to multiple episodes a day. But for all of us, listening and hoping for the day that we can become our own boss. What have been the biggest mistakes (if any) you have made through your business? If you say that you have never made a mistake then I will quit my job today…..not! Thanks for a great show and look forward to being a guest on Join Up Dots one day. Ebony Richard, Hobart Australia. Lastly…. we have a question from Canada, which is nameless, but asks “I am thinking of starting my own podcast and I am a bit daunted by what to do first. Should I buy the equipment or start building the website and social media following?” Now we have got those out of the way, it’s time for us to look at what makes a successful business. I will butet point them into three main categories and you will see that they are not anything clever in any shape or form. Number One: Look for a need that is already out there already. What I mean by this, is dont try to be clever and create something unique. This is prone to failure, even though the upside if its a success is massive. I would much rather see something already working and then create something similar with a different spin on it. Number Two: Now that we have a need, we need to seriously think about who our customer is and where they are hanging out. You dont want to ne spending a ton of money on throwing mud at the wall and hoping that it sticks. Number Three: Own your own traffic. You really need to be able to communicate with your audience, whether that is through Facebook, Email marketing, or any form of collection. Without that your business is dead in the water.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is Alfie Best, a man who has made a huge success of finding the potential in areas he has knowledge in and then working really hard to make it all come together. He is a successful entrepreneur driven by tenacity. With humble origins, born and raised in a Romany Gypsy family, this self-made man studied at “University of Life” and started his professional path totally from scratch. However, coming from a poor background and a minority group only gave him even more desire to succeed. As a gypsy, he had to face many obstacles and prejudices but he has never allowed those to ruin his dreams and ambitions or to disrupt his investments into the businesses he operates. Instead, he has taken those negative prejudices and turned them into positives by surrounding himself with a diverse and multicultural team. As he says "My philosophy for good business is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration; my sole focus is to drive the businesses forward without losing sight of the goal. Park homes were my upbringing so it was a natural progression to purchase a mobile home park; from 1 park to more than 40, Wyldecrest Parks has now become the No.1 Park Home Operator in the UK for the retired and semi-retired wishing to enjoy the quiet life and community spirit.  And when it  comes to seeing the potential in an idea, Alfie Best has a very up and positive outlook for sure.  "In my view" he says "there is no such thing as a bad idea, just the ability to drive it forward with a realistic approach." So if there is no such thing as a bad idea, why do so many people fail when it comes to starting a business? And if he looks back at his life has he learnt more from the knocks he has endured or from the  Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Alfie Best Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Alfie Best around subjects such as: Alfie shares how the competition inspires him everyday to raise his own standards and that of his team. As we will see she parlayed this experience to the business world and now helps CEOs, executives and managers connect with and realize their own goals, with greater velocity and ease. She helps us get unstuck, loosen the handbrake, put on lives running shoes and grow a kick ass life of our owns. So its all very easy to say these things, but build them into a business that people want is a different ballgame altogether. And most importantly, how did she then allow as many people as possible to find it? Well let's find out as we bring onto the the show, to joining up dots, the one and only Karen Brown. Show Highlights Karen talks about how she has changed her life simply by uncovering the six mental barriers that was holding her back from the future that she deserves We discuss the naviety that allows us to discover our dream business and think that we have all the skills to make it occur without issues. Karen talks about having to make the decision to limit the amount of people that she was willing to work with. Go for the cream of the crop and it pays back bigtime. And lastly…….. Progress not perfection is the mantra that all entrepreneurs should be living. We struggle with the vision being bigger and more realised than the reality.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man that as soon as you hit his website and see “Love the Life you Live! Freedom is taken, not given. By living an Intentional Life, we ordinary people can live extraordinary lives.” you know he is perfect for Join Up Dots. He is a speaker, writer, educator and adventurer who has traveled to over 80 countries around the world and 49 of the 50 states in the USA, and he’s lived in France, Japan, Thailand, French Guiana, Washington State, Virginia, Alaska, and California. All the time learning from different people as well as having time to think. Allowing the brain to disconnect and focus on the present is the greatest way to get everything back in focus and on track. He has ridden a motorcycle on six continents and crossed the USA on one twice, and he’s summited of the highest mountain of eight countries and five states. He also has extensive experience teaching at the university level and working in business development, and he still pursues an adventurous lifestyle with his family. Now let’s reflect back on those first words. Freedom is taken, not given. And I’m sure there would have been many times when our guest would have thought “I would love to do this, but nah, I can’t…it’s not for people like me!” So when did he first start his first adventure, and was it as small journey into the unknown or a huge leap into the unknown? And where does he see so many people going wrong, who say “Erik, I would love to do what you are doing?” Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Erik Seversen. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Erik Seversen such as: How so many people fail to realise that there is a world of adventure on their own doorstep. Get in a car at the weekend and see what’s waiting for you nearby. Erik shares how he started his first business, and the steps that he took to ensure that a steady growth was occuring month by month. How the power of the work life triangle is the way forward. How many of us add a big dose of “Me Time” into the balancing act? and lastly…. We discuss how the skill of delegation, and allowing people to do things even if its not the way that you would do it, is a key part of business growth.

When it comes to living the dream, do you ever stop and consider whether the life you are living is actually the life that you really want to be living? Do you consider that you can get bigger and bigger achievements in your life (and actually beat yourself up because your not) Well that is what's today's episode of Join Up Dots is all about as you will hear. This all came about, after I got told by a businessman that when asked "How are you doing?" and getting the reply from myself of "Yeah great living the dream" he stated. "David if you think you are living the dream it's only because you aren't dreaming big enough!" So how do you start living the dream if you are already 100% believing that you already have the dream? Is being content and happy enough or are we letting ourselves down? Well, I think that being content and happy is one of the most amazing states that you can achieve in your life. It may not seem sexy and inspirational but it is amazing. Waking up without any stresses and pressures. Knowing that you can pay all your bills with no issue at all. Feeling healthy and fit. Is that not the best way of being, or is living the dream our right to work harder and harder to gain more and more. I really don't have the right answer to this, as I suppose living the dream is so personal to each and everyone of us, we should never be told by others whether it is right or wrong. We should look deep into our hearts and know if we are being true to ourselves or not. We should look at what we have around us, and think "Is this making me happy or is it just more stuff to maintain and nurture?" Let us know by dropping us  a line, so we can see how many of our listeners are living the dream and how many of them or simply helping others to live the dream as they struggle through on their own. Thanks for reading David Ralph

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is a man who has been floating around my world it seems from the birth of Join Up Dots. So why he has never been on the show before I dont know, but I do know that it is going to be a good interview for sure. As he says “I’m committed to helping people make their lives the most amazing adventure possible! After getting fired from numerous jobs, dropping out of my PhD program, recovering from failed marriage, I realized I had been living someone else’s dream. I set out to construct a career and lifestyle that would let me be the explorer and teacher that I was always meant to be. I asked “What does it look like to be the hero of your own life?” So in 2014, I started “The Art of Adventure Podcast”, and it has become one of the top podcasts in the world for Location Independent Business, Adventure Travel, and cutting edge topics. I’m thrilled to be offering coaching for location independent entrepreneurs! I work with people who want to get out of their cubicles and create a life of time, financial, and location freedom. My clients are adventurous, inspiring, creative, motivated, confident, and unique people who are ready to make a big impact on their world Well he is certainly making a big impact on the world for sure, and when passion comes together with a vision then things get very sexy down. So when he was in his dark times, looking for a new way of making a living that was fun and inspiring did he imagine that he would end up here? And its ok to have the vision but when did the mindset shift to one of fun and money? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Derek Loudermilk Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Derek Loudermilk around subjects such as: Derek shares those moments when his life becomes so playful that his work increased in quality exponentially. Why the most obvious thing in life is more often not the thing that you should be doing the most. Derek shares how customers are more likely to purchase from him if they personally get to know him. A good message for us all. And lastly Derek reveals the steps that he is going to take to get Bono and Richard Branson into a room to solve food issues across the world.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast business interview is a man who has previously appeared back on Join Up Dots episode 654, where he shared his amazing journey to a life of inspiration, travelling the world helping others, and flying drones. But if things hadn’t occurred in his life, like experiencing the horror of a neighbours discovery that her son had committed suicide then he may well have coasted through his life as a sales assistant in a retail store. From 2005 to 2010, he clocked up over 7,000 hours in sales, management and training roles in big box retail and apparently still holds the record in one of the stores for the most amount sold in a single day. In 2010 he started his first coaching business and ramped up studies in the field of personal, professional and business excellence. He invested all the time, money and energy he had and went through an intense period of rapid transformational growth. As he says ” I was now a man on a mission. I broke through patterns of behaviour that had been holding me back for years, gave up alcohol, coffee and energy drinks, and consciously chose a vegetarian lifestyle.” That was however all covered in the first show, so where is he now? Where has the last 8 years  gone? We he now speaks to audiences around the world on how to thrive in an ever changing world. He delivers multi-sensory experiences on stage, blending education with storytelling videos and live music on a grand piano. As he says "Our world is changing faster than ever. To deal with this, companies need a workforce that is fully engaged, high performing and adaptable to change. But 67% of employees in North America are still not engaged or actively disengaged at work, with actively disengaged employees cost $450 billion to $550 billion per year alone. I help solve this by helping companies develop high performance teams, increasing innovation, employee engagement, emotional intelligence and adaptability to change." But that is just a favour of what this man is all about. So it's with great delight that for the second time, i can bring onto the show, to joining up dots, the one and only Cameron Brown Show Highlights Cameron shares how he has managed to bring the greatest quality in to his work. He is unwilling to take half measures to the work he is bringing to the world. We discuss why it is so important to be your own best friend. As Cameron says "If you are spending the most time with yourself then you might as well try to like who you are" Through the show we reveal the steps to breaking through the ceiling of whats possible in ones life. And lastly…….. Cameron demonstrates perfectly that the "quality of work" will always beat out the competition who deliver just enough to get by.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who certainly seems to have found her thing in life, and is now taking that out in to the world to help others find theirs too. With a diverse background in retail, hospitality (resort and restaurants), event production/promotions, both for and not for profit, and executive management, she built the stepping stones to what leads to success. And you could see that it really started to go her way after joining a start up media company in 1993. Within this business she grew the profits from $60K a month in revenue to finishing the first year in business with $7mm, leading to the company having explosive growth each year thereafter. After selling the media company in 2007, shee was asked to stay on with the new organisation to be an integral part of their aggressive growth strategy, acquiring 5 media companies in under 2 years. And more success followed, before she stepped out on her own by creating her own Strategic Marketing and Operations Consultancy business. Now, if that isn’t interesting enough the bit that i like about her career history, and where we will spend time, is her understanding that at their core, all businesses thrive or die on 3 key areas. and this doesn’t matter what business they are operating in. She is an expert in The MESSAGE, the MARKET, and then the MEDIA, and within these three areas, she likes nothing better than creating successful marketing campaigns that will naturally generate more revenue to the bottom line as well as a broader reach in the market place. And that is what we all want after all. So was she always an entrepreneur at heart, or did she reluctantly go about building her own dream life, and career? And if business can be simplified to these three stages, why do so many people struggle, especially in the online environment? Well lets fin out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dost the one and only Carrie Hartunian Smith

In today's episode of Join Up Dots, we answer "How long to create a successful online business" and other listeners questions as ever posted on an email from across the world. We love receiving these so much, as it really shows that our words are having an effect and the world is starting to think in a different way. You see everyone has doubts, everyone has moments when they think that they can't get past that obstacle. Everyone runs into a closed door that they think is the killer of all there dreams, but it rarely is. So today's questions are part of the mindset shift more or less and we will start with one Mexico. Hi David, I am a shopkeeper in Mexico and listen to your show every day. I was interested when you revealed you had a business too, which I think was your parents? I don't enjoy running the shop anymore and don't think I ever did. How can I escape without hurting my parents who started the business 20 years ago?" Now for the second question for Angela in Bennington, Vermont USA who asks..... "David, really inspiring and different type of show. I would love to know if you could go back in time and give your younger version advice what would it be? Thanks for the show, that makes me laugh and then assess my own life in every episode" Angela And lastly, the third question comes once again from the United States of America and the town of Encinitas. "Hello, Mr Ralph and everyone connected with Join Up Dots. It seems to me when starting a business you have to expect to earn no money for a period of time, and then reap your rewards later? What timescales do you think would be realistic for someone who is inexperienced with business building"  Michael, Encinitas San Diego County, California Thanks as always for listening, and until next time if you have any questions then feel free to jump over to the Contact Page and send your own for later answering on the show.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast business interview is a man who knows the secret ingredient that most people online are searching for. How to make things go viral in an ever more shouty online world. He is one of the country’s most influential progressive communicators. He is Chief Science Advisor for “Years of Living Dangerously,” which won the 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Nonfiction Series and now generates viral vidoes online seen by tens of millions a month. He is the founding editor of ClimateProgress.org, which NY Times columnist Tom Friedman called, “the indispensable blog.” And if that isn't enough he is also the senior advisor for New Frontier Data, the leading “big data” firm providing actionable analysis in cannabis, whose content reaches hundreds of millions of people a year. Yeah that is a bit eclectic to say the least. Now with his new book out across the world  "How To Go Viral and Reach Millions: Top Persuasion Secrets from Social Media Superstars, Jesus, Shakespeare, Oprah, and Even Donald Trump" he has even more things to talk about and do everyday. So what of course is the key to going viral like Jesus? And where does he find his focus turning to everyday? A day off, or more and more work? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Joseph Romm Show Highlights Joseph shares the three A's that make viral content explode across the world....powerful stuff. Why the first rule of communicating is making the receiver know that we are one of them. Bridge the gap between sender and receiver and you will win the game.  And lastly…….. How and Why "The Hero's Story" has become the key to so many of the inspiring content that we see in film, and platforms everywhere.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast business interview is a lady who last appeared on the show back in April 2016, where we discussed claimed fame in a very unusual way. But most excitingly for a show like Join Up Dots she hasn’t set her stall out to allow that initial success to define her but has gone on for bigger and bolder things. As the creator of the Purse Process in 2013 her new adventures started in earnest when she started the process of being a bit nosy in ladies handbags. And digging around to share how the secrets of the stuff that a lady carries around with them in their bag actually defines them. Now though her dots have taken her in quite a different direction, and she is inspiring the world by posing a big question everyday........ “I wonder what would happen if…?” She explores this question for herself, her friends, fans, and followers by trying new things. All the new things! As many new things as she can pack into a day, a week, a year. This looks like exploring new places, trying new services, discovering new products and sharing it all through in-person appearances, her multi-platform social media presence, and her IGTV show, the Danielle Daily Show. The second way is by sharing not just her adventures, victories, and triumphs but also her perseverance, determination, and grit when battling adversities like anxiety, being a natural introvert, and the grief of a devastating divorce. Although each of these very human battles has proven difficult, all have subsequently helped her to rise towards becoming the fearless, beautiful, and powerful woman she has always aspired to be. Ultimately, she inspires people with her sense of courage and playfulness coupled with a willingness to take risks, admit her mistakes, and reveal her vulnerabilities. Fans know she is a reliable source of positivity and a strong advocate for people, products, experiences, ideas, and resources she thinks are awesome. This is a lady putting herself out there in a raw and honest way that is making a difference, and I love her So why did she pivot from digging around in the handbags of the world? And how does she come up with her ideas and new adventures? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Danielle Watson. Show Highlights How being confident in life is not something that we can carry around to every environment. It might be something that flourishes and dims throughout the day. Danielle shares how her new business grew simply from the process of digging around and trying things.  She shares why she feels so many people miss out on having the amazing life because of their unwillingness to match up with others outputs. Why it is better to ask for help and support from people in your local community and close to you before ever reaching out to strangers. And lastly…….. Danielle shares deeply personal insight as to how the phrase life changing income can mean so much to many people in the world (but sometimes we forget that we are doing so well)

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is nothing but decisive when she knows what she wants in life. Starting her career back in 1999 she performed the role of Finance Director for one of the top 15 Opera companies in the US for ten years, until in 2009 the company closed due to financial difficulties. And I guess we will find out on the show if she would have stayed in the position if this hadn’t occurred but the fact is it did As she says “After leaving the corporate world to stay home with my young children, I began writing and performing my own songs. I toured as a singer/songwriter for 9 years, releasd 3 CDs and won several songwriting awards. I even had the honour of singing “The National Anthem” at Dodger Stadium. I then began coupling the inspirational message of my songs with a testimony-based speaking topic called “You Are My Vision”, a program I have presented for churches and community groups for the last 8 years.” But how do you take these values and skills and turn them into an income production line, as this is the problem that most entrepreneurs encounter on their journey to success. Well todays guest has drawn on her extensive experience of the music industry to create online courses to help musicians learn how to make a living from their music. Her most popular offering is an online training and mentoring community exclusively for female musicians called the “Female Musician Academy“. And not only that she is the host of two top ranked podcasts bringing her passions to an even wider audience. So has she planned all these goings on or are they as much a suprise to her when she looks around her of what she has going on? And does she now have the belief that she could have done all this a lot quicker, or did it naturally have to fall into place? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Bree Noble

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we answer a few listeners questions, posed on email from across the world. We love receiving these so much, as it really shows that our words are having an effect and the world is starting to think in a different way. You see everyone has doubts, everyone has moments when they think that they can't get past that obstacle. Everyone runs into a closed door that they think is the killer of all there dreams, but it rarely is. So today's questions are part of the mindset shift more or less and we will start with one from Martin the lawyer. Hi David, Must say love the show and listen to a different one daily. Great insight and inspiration for a person like myself who is working hard on my online business with the goal of quitting my lawyer job (I am 27). I have a quick question for you. I do dropshipping with a good deal of success. I care not to call myself an expert on the topic but do have a few years experience doing this and running facebook ads etc to generate revenue. Having been involved in the internet marketing spectrum for a few years now I understand the importance of the personal brand and acquiring an audience to teach other people with the intention of utilising that audience to sell related products. I plan myself to start my YouTube channel. Do you think this is feasible considering I am not an expert per se? Nevertheless I do have useful content and techniques that I can pass on and teach those. And of course I want to get started on this to grow and learn on creating such content to create an that may indeed branch out to other related areas I have expertise on like mindset, daily habits etc. Do you have any related podcasts on Youtube specifically? Keen to know your thoughts on same. Many thanks, Martin Followed on by a question from the lovely Adrea, Stuttgart, Cameron McCarthy and Benjamin Louder. Hi David, I recently had the personal honour of speaking to you one to one, and found you to be insightful, deeply focused and very very very different from the person you are on the wonderful and inspiring Join Up Dots. So my question is, as I wasn't brave enough to ask you at the time, is why if you are focused on being authentic are you so different? And also, if you have time, I often hear you say "If an idiot like me can do this"....why?  Why do you say that you are an idiot as you are brilliant in many many ways? Thank you for you time, and the personal connection Adrea, Stuttgart. Dear David and the Join Up Dots Team, do you ever have doubts that what you are doing is any good? I start loads of projects with a huge amount of emtheisuams, and then I start thinking its not very good, or people will laugh so stop. I was wondering do you have those thoughts and how do you get past them? All the best and thank you for the best show in the world Cameron McCarthy, St Johns Canada. Hi David, love, love, love the show. I heard an episode recently when you said you were looking to work one month on and one month off. How have you managed to do this, as I would imagine that Join Up Dots is a highly busy enterprise? Thanks for your time Benjamin Louder, South Africa. If you have any questions then feel free to jump over to the Contact Page and send your own for later answering on the show.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast business interview is a man who is thriving in the online world by getting business's to ask the right questions. Originally from a small rural town in central California he started his first business installing lawns on people’s yards at the age of 16. He eventually started tinkering with and selling computers, and made his way down to Los Angeles to attend college at UCLA. It was then that he began taking on consulting gigs building websites for small local businesses with a few of his friends. After getting a request from one of these consulting clients to have a quiz built for his website, he had a bit of a lightbulb moment.  He is a co-founder of Interact Quiz Builder. Along with his friends he spent a few weeks building this first quiz, and after that started to talk to other business owners about whether or not they’d use quizzes in their marketing efforts. This year alone, it looks like the sacrifices required to build a business are paying off, as they have seen a 300% jump in growth and are anticipating 500% by the end of the year. Great stuff, so are there certain quizzes that convert like gangbusters or do all types do the magic? And why does he think that this works so well, in regards to lead captures unlike a normal tired old magnet? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Josh Haynam Show Highlights Josh shares how he has developed a belief system that means he walks his own path in life. Strong will and firm mindset all the way. Why the position of grand leaders in business are not sought out by the individuals themselves, but more often than not are placed there by the followers. Why so many business's struggle with the lack of income coming into the business. This is a phase that hinders growth for most and can often be the killer. And lastly…….. Why Josh believes his mindset changed forever by attending college. It wasn't the course material but the students he studied with that made a huge change.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots entrepreneur podcast interview is a lady who connected with the show through the contact form, and so eloquently did she pitch herself I just had to have her on the show. As she said "I believe I would be a great fit for your show, as I am a business owner who is open and honest about both the struggles and the excitement of this entrepreneurial journey. I’ve worked for Fortune 500 companies, and started several different types of online businesses. Here’s my story…. -I graduated in 2010 from The University of Michigan with a degree in business and after graduating from college, I rose through the ranks of PepsiCo, managing marketing campaigns for some of the largest brands in the world, working alongside celebrities, and working with partners such as The Golden Globes, The Grammy’s, and the NFL. During my time at PepsiCo, I tried to launch a side hustle selling branded sports bras to collegiate athletic teams...this failed - so I quit Pepsi to launch my first successful business: The Dessert Place. This was a revived family business, in which I turned my mother’s famous bakery (which had closed in 1996) into an e-commerce platform. - I realized I didn’t actually like baking and my heart wasn’t fully into this business. So I built an online course teaching parents how to navigate college admissions with their kids. I love getting to help families with this journey, and love chatting about colleges and visiting college campuses. Based on the podcasts I’d listened to and the courses I’d bought, I thought that creating a sales funnel for my online course would be a walk in the park and I’d be an overnight success. I was wrong! This business has been a challenge, but I’m slowly and steadily building it up and loving the challenges. In just a few weeks, I’ll be packing up my life and moving to Bali where I’ll be living/working/traveling around Southeast Asia for an indefinite amount of time (one way ticket booked!). The last 3 years of entrepreneurship have, without a doubt, been the most challenging years of my life. The hardest part of entrepreneurship has been the mindset, which I never expected. I have spent every spare moment of time reading more self development books than I can count, and binge listening to podcasts for countless hours. I love that Join Up Dots shares real stories, including the failures, the fears, and the mindset struggles that come along with the entrepreneurial life. Binge listening to this podcast (and the stories of others who have gone before me) is the reason that I’ve had the confidence to keep persevering, and I’d love to give back and help others who are on the same path.  Well if that doesn't excite my listeners as much as it did me then I dont know what will. So when the idea for the college business came to her did she think "Nah, that must have been done before...i'll find something else." And does she now consider herself and success or simply just getting going? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Marisa Meddin. Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Marisa Meddin around subjects such as: Why a lucrative business is not always a good business. No matter how much you think its about the money it never truly is.  Marisa shares the first steps she took to get to make her campus business get off the ground. Powerful simplicity at its best. We discuss how having a life where vacations can blend into real life brings about an amazing lifestyle which is available to all. And lastly Why building a business is 90% mental and 10% technical. You have to get out of your own head to be able to achieve what you want.

Todays guest on Join Up Dots is a man with a fascinating and somewhat intriguing branding of "The Suited Monk" Now if you are thinking "I can't remember the last time I saw a monk in a suit?" then let me explain more. How many times have you realised that you are living a life that is expected of you. The kind of life that was always on the cards due to your surroundings, parents, friends and a myriad of other outside influences. Well our guest today was considered to be successful in the corporate world at a young age by colleagues, friends and family. However, his personal life was anything but successful. He was deeply unhappy in his job, he was struggling to find a sense of purpose and meaning, and wanted more than anything to find happiness in his work and life environment. Modern society exerts a constant, subtle pressure to conform to the expectations of others, and to seek a version of success that is acceptable to the people around us but that does not necessarily meet our own most heartfelt needs and desires. Even if we manage to reach certain goals, the happiness they bring us rarely lasts long. Because they aren't truly what we want. How depressing is that...but so real to all of us too. So he did something about getting rid of this feeling, and got off the path that he was on and now spends most of his time speaking and teaching on the subject of authenticity in life. Finding the suited monk in all of us, where we can join our intuition, happiness, love, purpose, and life force (which is your inner Monk) with the external world of success and achievement (represented by the Suit you wear). Once you do that he believes that you will be able to close the gap and tap into the vast abundance that exists within you, both in your professional life and personal relationships. Wow, that sounds good doesn't it. So, how did he come up with the Monk aspect of this concept? And what did his family say when she said "Guys, I need to go out and do my own thing!" Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Raf Adams.

I'm passionate about helping others take charge of their lives and become physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger, and I strive to lead by this example every day. When we tap into our potential, there's nothing we can't achieve! Powerful stuff, but of course all success comes from a trial process of trips, falls and leaps of faith and a dawning realisation of where our guests should be heading. So when did it all start coming right for todays guest? And was the business an instant success, or like so many the idea was good but the marketing failed bigtime? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jay Kali Show Highlights During the entrepreneur podcast show we had deep hitting conversations with Jay Kali around subjects such as: How he has managed to develop a mindset that leads him to an "enough is enough" mentality. Business should be about supporting the lifestyle not the other way around. Why he once went seven months without a client and how he managed to keep going pushing through to where he wants to be. Why he doesn't feel like so many other veterans that he was hindered by the rules and regulations that working for Uncle Sam can sometimes bring. And lastly Jay shares how he spent many thousands of dollars looking for the right mentor until he found the right one. The improvement to his business was massive.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots podcast interview, was previously on the show back on episode 533 where we talked about learning to be unbreakable Now he is back with a new book, and to be honest most of the time people ask to come on the show I refuse, as its all "Yeah in chapter five I talk about......" Not what this show is about at all, but this new book by todays guest pricked my interest as it ties very much into the message behind Join Up Dots It's called Sequentiality, and it provides a simple, but highly prescription for personal development. By means of real life examples will find how to gain the right sequence of steps towards your dreamlife...or as we say "How to join up the dots" It has been proven through generations that have gone before us that it is better to let things naturally flow than to direct our focus with intention. So with chapters like Your steps should be logical, not random, Let organic growth determine your steps, and you can figure out what steps to take next lets he is a dotsmeister for sure. So why this subject in particular, and does he see patterns that occur time and time that have become more than obvious to him? Well lets find out as without further a do, lets start joining up those dots with the and only Mr. John Vespasian  Show Highlights John shares why it is important to build your assets through your life, network, financial, health. They dont have to be balanced to be highly effective. We discuss the life of Cassanova and discover how he spent years building up to the success he is now viewed as. True entrepreneurial spirit at its best. How we should not try to force things but let them flow naturally for maximum effect in our lives. And lastly…….. Why John writes his books upside down, and researches in a very different way to most authors in the world today.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots podcast interview, has a story of resilience, perseverance, psychology and some strategy (with very high risk). Back in 2007 he founded the Result Based Training gym at the age of 27. This was going to be a huge success as all new ventures are thought to be, but the truth was very different. He soon found himself sleeping on the floor in the upstairs office (with his dog) where the gym was located in South Melbourne because he could not afford to pay the rent. Things were not looking good, his venture was going under and he could either fight back or join the masses of entrepreneurs with a sob story to share with the world. He decided to fight and went on take one of the biggest risks of his business career. He needed an infrared sauna so started a Groupon campaign to sell vouchers to utilise the infrared sauna in his gym. The only problem with this was; he did not have the sauna, and didn’t have the money to buy the sauna or pay his next month of rent that was due on the building!   This risk was one of the most riskiest moves he will admit to, but it paid off!  Within 10 days, he sold 800 vouchers, generating the money he needed to buy the sauna and pay the month of rent that was almost due. Stating, “In that moment, I knew in order to survive, I had to commit to always think outside the square, to lead, not follow.” Fast forward to today, and Result Based Training is now a $10million dollar business, with over 90 staff members, and over 20 locations across Australia, with additional locations in the US. Put simply in his own words, “Find your passion, reverse engineer the shit out of it, and go get it!” Since then he has gone on to become the Founder of multiple successful business ventures and a foundation and quite simply looks like he is loving life. So with Gary Vee stating recently that entrepreneurship is found in the DNA, would he consider himself born to this life or just good at finding the doors when trapped? And with bigger and bolder actions and entrepreneurial ventures filling his days, does he ever look back on the floor with the dog and think "Actually life was so much simpler then?" Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Travis Jones Show Highlights During the show we had deep hitting conversations around subjects such as: Travis reveals why it is so important to know your "Why" right at the beginning, because more often than not its not what you are going after for sure. Costing staff that can push you forward is one of the most valuable things you can do for your business Why even though you may feel that you want a life that is free and loose maybe the wrong thing and will hold you back from ever getting it. And lastly…….. Travis reveals the steps of reversing engineering, and why he doesn't set goals without a clearly defined route back to its source.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is an a man who connected with me to request to be on the show. And this request was very different from most pitches that come through to me that says "David, I should come on to your show as I created a business in my downstairs toilet, and within 30 minutes was making six figures per month!" No, No, No, that is not how it works, or at least not for the majority of the world, who decide that it is time to create their own income. Our guest nailed it when he told me "David, the first time I tried starting a business, I thought one juju priest from Africa placed a ‘curse’ on me. I failed at almost everything. I tried all the stuff the ‘gurus’ said I should. I blogged 7 times a day, promoted my blog post like crazy, I started a podcast, I created multiple infographics, I spent hours on social media,I wrote a book, I did cold email , I did influencer marketing, I did LinkedIn marketing, in fact, I did 1000’s of things. I did everything NOT to fail but I failed WOEFULLY! I learned something from my experience. Most of this self-acclaimed ‘gurus’ are ‘talkers’, they are not ‘doers’. What I did immediately was to stop taking advice from the ‘wrong’ people. Most so called ‘gurus’ don’t even take their own advice. So, I asked myself this question. ‘What makes the most important ‘thing’ in a business?’ I had to ask the right questions to get the solution to my ‘problem’. And that friends is how it works. You look for the 80/20 in your business, and then start solving others problems, and you are up and running. And that is what happened to our guest, and now he has a flourishing business called Clients Attraction where he shows the world 1: How To Package & launch High Ticket Program That Attracts Your Ideal clients 2: How To Consistently Attract & Close High Ticket Offers By Offering To Help People For Free, and..... 3: How To Build A Dynamic Marketing & Sales Funnel That Converts High Ticket Clients Consistently While Building Goodwill in your marketplace And it seems that the juju priest from Africa, is a vague and distant memory, and things are only going to get better. So did he ever think of stopping working on his business, and go back and get a job behind a desk somewhere? And if he could go back in time, would he create the same business, or do something different now he knows what he knows? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots. with the one and only Johnson Emmanuel

Today's guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots podcast interview, is a chap from the UK, founder of the ‘Hero Forge' project and is the author of a book by the same name. He delivers talks, workshops and training for how we can develop the virtues and attributes needed to become everyday heroes, and he does his best to walk his talk! But that is just the starting point and the dots have joined up in a very eclectic manner for sure. As he says "I ran away from a decent career in advertising in my 20s to join a circus in Malaysia. Performed as a trapeze artist, dancer and clown. Almost drowned during a failed underwater escape attempt! Survived a minor plane crash on my return to the UK. I have lectured to the magic circle and once got into a heated argument with Uri Geller - we made our peace and he bent a teaspoon as a gift which I still have in my kitchen! I have taught in UK schools (as an English teacher and pastoral leader) for almost 25 years while also working as a nightclub doorman in the evenings (quit the doors once I became a dad 6 years ago). I raised £3k last year to support provision of safe water in the 3rd world, by performing as many burpees as possible in 6 hours and then leading almost 100 11-18 year olds barefoot across hot coals! (Managed 1240 burpees - hampered somewhat by a dislocated finger - no kids were burned!). Lots of dots for sure, all linked to his desire to take action and make things happen. So can he spot an everyday hero before they ever do anything heroic? Are there traits that establish that a hero is being made in front of you? And with all these different things occurring does he get exhausted by the effort, or stimulated by the variety? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Andy Fisher. Show Highlights Andy discusses the reasons why so many people are rooted to the spot when seeing an issue or situation unable to jump in and help. We talk about why the world has given us so much opportunity to change our lives, but so many are unwilling to give it ago. Why Andy loves getting feedback from listeners and gains a lot from the understanding he gains from their insights. And lastly........ Andy shares a deeply personal reason he considers himself a hero, and ill be honest i agree with him wholeheartedly he is!

Todays guest joining on the show is a lady who i be honest I am a huge fan of her work. She is a singer, musician, songwriter, actress and has one the bubbliest characters it has been delight to come into contact with, whilst her album "Something I Couldn't Say" has been a constant in the Join Up dots headquarters for the last month or so. Now if you think that this is a story of a lady with talent and the world supporting her to achieve her aims then think again. This is  story of a talent shining brighter due to the knocks and obstacles she has been required to overcome. Whilst pursuing her recording and acting career, she lost most of her vision at age 23, through type 1 Diabetes, as a result of a common diabetic eating disorder (EDMT1) from her late teens. After going through laser treatment and many operations and rehabilitating herself after having lost everything (job, driving licence, independence), unstoppable and unperturbed by obstacles and negative attitudes, she continued pursuing her career. The experience simply made her more determined to follow her own path and become a success, and i have no doubt that her future is a very bright one indeed. So does she look back at her teenage decisions with a "What the hell was I doing" or "c'est la vie" it wont stop me getting what i want? And the big question....where is Waverley Bridge, and why does it sound so exotic to this humbler podcaster? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Sarah Caltieri Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Sarah Caltieri such as: Sarah reveals how due to her eye issues the world has become in many ways more beautiful than before. A lovely way of thinking. Why she feels telling people that she had a rough time or a bad day is a cathartic thing to do, even though it surprises so many people that she does it. Why she feels strongly that her music and platform has to be accessible to all forms of life, no matter what their disabilities and lastly…. How it was so difficult to find the true authenticity in her voice due to her previous stage training....get more northern they cried and fortunately she listened.

My guest today, on the confidence boosting Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who only recently appeared on the show, back on episode 675 And why is he back so quickly I hear you cry, when there are so many guests desperate to get on the show to start joining up dots. Well, during the recording it was obvious to me that there were so many stories needing to be told, which we just didn't get near to discovering and will be so useful for all of us, as we learn to trust ourselves and go for the gold in our lives. Well, after an unfulfilling first semester of college that resulted in major stress, anxiety and unhappiness, he knew that he needed to make a change. Although doing well academically, he had no passion for what he was doing. He realized that going to school and getting a degree might not be the right path for him - at least at that point in my life. So he decided to take a chance, leaving school behind to follow his heart and explore other ways of life. With just a backpack and on a shoe-string budget, he spent 4 months traveling through Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica without a phone, yearning to disconnect from the widespread dominance of social media. From living in the jungle and teaching English to poverty stricken kids, to meeting inspirational people from around the world, his quest took him to remote and exotic destinations throughout Central America. And now with an amazing book Off The Beaten Trail doing well, and his speaking career taking off it quite simply seems to me that this is a man that we need to keep our eye on. Which is why, we have him back on the show already. So when he decided to go down to South America, what was he hoping to achieve? Disconnection or actual connection with his real self. And was there anytime when he felt that he had bitten off more than he could hope to chew, but still managed to overcome? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jake Heilbrunn Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jake Heilbrunn such as: Why Jake knew that he needed to maintain a lifestyle that would protect his balance of $4,000 travel funds, so found a way of volunteering to gain food and board Why the power of story telling was so important to Jake through his travels, and why he feels that people should embrace this age old tradition more than they do today. and lastly…. Why the world is full of amazing people, who come into your life just when you need them most and will help you out when times are tough. So dont be worried about what could happen. You have support everywhere.

Deepak Shukla Started An Digital Agency Team On Almost No Money. He Shows You How In Todays Entrepreneur Podcast

Todays guest joining us on Join Up Dots is a man who i suppose its fair to say has had three lives leading him to this point. Starting his life in a rough school, where nobody expected him to do well and gain entry to University (although it was quite obvious that he was gifted) he achieved his aim. And this to me really places huge credit to a man, who when someone says he cant do something seems to want to prove to the world that they are wrong (not least to those inner demons that hold us all in our place). Stints followed travelling the world, ironman competitions, Tedx talks, making documentaries about the homeless and the list goes on But of course a career needs focus and and as he says " After Uni, I went on to work at MEC – 1 of the world’s leading marketing agencies. I was fortunate enough to be 1 of only 6 hires out of 500+ graduates! I then went on to work at Deloitte as a tax consultant, but decided to leave during the height of the recession to pursue my own business ventures, and dedicate more time to producing music. 150 rap songs later, having left my 2 studios and ‘movement’ that was known as ‘Deep Impakt Recordings’ behind. I launched my first funded startup ‘Meet My Tutor’ in (an online marketplace connecting students to tutors) in 2010 with £75k, followed by ‘The CV Guy’ in October 2014 and ultimately Pearl Lemon in 2016.  And that is where he today running Pearl Lemon from home, local coffee shops and pretty much anywhere in the world (providing there’s an internet connection). Pearl Lemon is made up of an amazing team of SEO experts, social people and writers – together, they GROW their client’s businesses and have fun whilst doing so.  And as he says "When I’m not working, I’m typically training or watching an action or horror movie lol." Sounds like a pretty good life to have for sure. So is Pearl Lemon the thing that he has been looking for, or just another step towards where he wants to be? And can you do these things on your own, or does it really need a team to start cooking on gas? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Deepak Shukla

Today's guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots podcast interview, is from the Wisconsin Area of the United States and is a man who loves the written word. He is the founder of the Ghost writers for blogs company, called Ghost Blog Writers funnily enough As he says "In 2010, I founded Ghost Blog Writers. We provide blogging services for businesses. We focus strictly on blogging. Rather than spreading ourselves thin by focusing on all content we focus on being the best blog writing service provider. It's our passion. It's out expertise. We also believe in long-term blogging strategies. The best results, in our experience, come from two things. First, a consistent schedule. You're not going to find success with blogging with a post once in awhile. There needs to be regular blogging over the long-term. Second, answering questions the target customer is asking. It's really that simple. When you help your target customer by answering questions they have in relation to your industry you earn their trust and people like doing business with people they trust. So starting this business as a side hustle whilst still working as a manager for Mason Companies, in Chippewa Falls did he know that it would turn out as a full time gig, with an ever increasing team of employees? And if he could go back in time are there things that he looks back at with a "what the hell was i thinking?" type slap of the head? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Dayne Shuda. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty subjects with Dayne such as How your best work comes along rarely but that shouldn't make a difference. Still press "Publish" and get it out there. Dayne recalls the process of setting his first price point, and wondered if her should have gone more when the client said "Yep" straight away.  And lastly........ We discussed whether it is truly possible to hit rock bottom of whether it is all in our minds?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who quite simply is astonishing. Why do I feel that? Well at the age of twenty years old he is already on his way to defining his life, whilst the rest of the world are scrabbling around screaming "I don't know what I want to do...show me someone, show me!!" He is a youth speaker, author of the book "Off The Beaten Trail" and driven to show the world how everything can start if you are willing to ask a simple question. As he says "My extraordinary adventure began with one simple question: What if the biggest risk is not taking any risk at all? After an fulfilling first semester of college that resulted in major stress, anxiety and unhappiness, I knew that I needed to make a change. Although doing well academically, I had no passion for what I was doing. I realized that going to school and getting a degree might not be the right path for me - at least at this point in my life. I decided to take a chance, leaving school behind to follow my heart and explore other ways of life. With just a backpack and on a shoe-string budget, I spent 4 months travelling through Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica without a phone, yearning to disconnect from the widespread dominance of social media. From living in the jungle and teaching English to poverty stricken kids, to meeting inspirational people from around the world, my quest took me to remote and exotic destinations throughout Central America." And now he is joining up his dots on today's show. So why did he feel so unfulfilled at an age, when I certainly didn't have the awareness of knowing whether i was unfilled or not? And looking back on his journey through South America, does he see it know as riskier than was needed, or actually a stroll through the countryside? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jake Heilbrunn Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jake Heilbrunn such as: Jake tells a story of how he was breaking out in hives every morning, until finally realising that stress and anxiety was the cause of the issue and what he had to do to deal with it. How going for your big dreams is never an easy option as you have to untangle yourself from so many factors that surround you everyday of your life. People, parents and finances all try to keep you in one place. Why social media is such a double edged sword, hugely entertaining but also deeply depressing due to the constant comparison we are allowed by glimpsing in other peoples lives. and lastly…. Why he loves getting up in front of youngsters across America, inspiring them to take risks and challenging the personal status quo. You don't have to live the lives that others have planned for you.

In todays episode David Ralph, discusses if freedom is worth more than money after he received a message from a listener in Columbia. "Hi David, big love to Join Up Dots. Do you think, I need time to build my business or money. Ok, to lose money if it comes back to me. Thank you Mateo Hernandez Columbia" You see when you start out on business its really hard to get things done. You are expected to be at work at a fixed time You want to be home as soon as you can to either, lay on the sofa relaxing or spending time with your partner and children. It's difficult for sure. So how can you get the freetime to do things that need to be done to grow your fledgling business? Well one of the things that you can do for sure, is look at how much money you are frittering away each month, as you may not have to work as much as you do. It is amazing how much money can be clawed back by making some decisions as to your lifestyle, and spending habits. Imagine you lived on an island, where the food was plentiful, you could build your own shelter and living accommodation? How much money do you think that you would need on a daily basis? I would suggest hardly anything at all......so why do we spend so much on needless subscriptions, cups of starbuck coffee each day, and gym memberships that we never use. It is astonishing how much we allow to slip through our fingers without knowing it. Which leads you to be able to make bold decisions as to your future. Could you ask your boss to go down to four days per week, instead of five? Could you ask to work from home one day per week? Could you leave your job and instead find a lower paid job, that allows you the free time to build your side hustle? Because one thing for sure, you need to make decisions that alter your current situation if you want to make a new one. You can not expect to live the same life until your new life comes along that is for sure. So let us know, if you are in the process of making bold decisions how are you doing it? Have you decreased expenditure, or perhaps you have simply accepted a decrease in income until things turn around for you. Thanks for listening and hope to hear from you personally on the voice mail messenger.

Today’s guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots podcast interview, is a chap who knows how to scale a business.

He is a Business Scaling Strategist and accomplished leader with SME, mid-sized and FTSE 250 company experience. Up For A Conversation On Lust, Pride, Drug Use & Weird Weekends?

Today's guest, joining us today on the Join Up Dots podcast interview, is a chap from the UK who last appeared on the show back on episode 128 He is a man who has built his life around the use of stories, and weaving them into amazing effective ways that can help us all unlock the doors and remove the obstacles that we find in front of us time and time again. Doors to a life that is as much play as work, and as much work as play. Being in the music and film industry for over 18 years ,he has developed an approach that works well for creative types across the globe who flock to his warehouse in Seven Kings London. Its an unusual approach which for many might seem a bit strange….in fact after reading his personal website, he seems to thrive by being, well, slightly out of the mainstream shall we say! As it says "…to what is possibly the only website in the world actually designed to put people off.  A dubious claim to fame, but my point being if you read through it and go – hmmm… this is a bit unusual, weird even – then I’m probably not the person for you.  If you read through it and go – cool… this is a bit unusual, weird even – then we should talk." He goes onto say “People ask me what I do and I always hesitate – I was a psychotherapist for 13 years, then I tried calling myself a coach, I’ve been to India and trained in Tantra but that doesn’t quite qualify me to call myself a Guru and I’ve been buried alive and fasted in the wilderness for days on end but that doesn’t quite make me a Shaman… and Psycho-therapeutic Shamanic Coaching Guru is a real mouthful” So lets find out what he calls himself today, and how has he changed since the last time he was on join up dots? As we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jerry Hyde Show Highlights Jerry shares his belief that for every book he writes, it is always the book that he needs to We talk about the consequence of shame in business and life today, and why this has become such an issue. Jerry talks about some seriously out there weekends that he experienced, and why he felt they were at the edge of his level of exploration. The Seven Deadly Sins we discover are not in the Bible at all, so why do we obey them, and where did they appear from? And lastly........ Jerry shares what he has been up to for the last few years since last appearing on Join Up Dots which was a real eye opener.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lifestyle portrait photographer and image content creator who works with high-level entrepreneurs and thought leaders of various industries to produce high-quality, highly-captionable images that present informational, entertaining and inspiring aspects of their brand to their followers. More than just a photographer, our guest sets his clients up for success beyond the portrait session by coaching them on how to best leverage their image content for their websites, social channels, blogs, publications, advertisements and various other needs. But you can certainly see a path that has joined the dots amazingly well, as after leaving New York-Hunter College with a BA in Media Studies, he freelanced as a Production assistant for HBO, whilst continuing his studies to gain an MFA in Television Production And then for over 17 years worked as a television producer, and as a portrait photographer expert on several NBC Universal daytime talk and reality shows. So the dots lined up for him to go out alone and create his own production company, which he did in 2014, as he says “While my business began as a full-service photo/video studio, drawing upon my 16 years of video production experience, I now focus solely on serving thought leaders and entrepreneurs by providing them versatile, high-volume, high-production value image content that can be used for all of their content needs. There’s a lot more to my sessions that simply taking pictures; before, during and after each session, I help direct my clients so that they can maximise value from our session. I help them identify their content needs, determine the types of images we must capture to fill those needs, and then execute the game plan.. Its nice to live the dream daily” So was this a passion he persused through education and career, or like so many of us, just started to doing something until the passion was found? And what is teh hardest part of building his business, the sales and lead generation, or acually the content production? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only John DeMato. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John DeMato such as: How John recalls how he got to the point in his life where he found that his internal compass was pointing in the wrong direction, and the steps he took to getting it where he wanted to point. How John manages to draw out the real character and personality in a photo, and why he feels it so important to do that thing. Why John can now see that through his business clarity comes confidence, and with confidence comes value. Its a real circle of development that you have to go through. and lastly…. We find out why John talks about his life as being within the matrix and outside the matrix and why he would never go back to where he was.

In today’s episode David Ralph, answers a question received from a listener of the show in Houston Texas who is concerned about his health care issues. He wants to become an entrepreneur and create his own business, but is also concerned about what might happen if either him or his children become ill. But let’s start with following up to a review that we received from a listener in Ireland who inspired by an episode of Join Up Dots let us know what they were planning to do after hearing one of our guest experts. CLC July 13, 2018 by CillianLally from Ireland Found this podcast a few weeks ago. Since started the ball rolling for my wife and I to start a drop shipping business. Clear, informative and light hearted. No long business monologues. Sent it to several friends since? So we read this out on the show and then received a follow up message show below “Hi David, I was blown away by the shout out on yesterday’s podcast. I would love to be a guest eventually, it would be great to give back to something I have taken so much from. So an update as to where we are with the drop shipping business. I listened to the podcast a few weeks ago and I came home and said to my wife that this is what we are doing. So we are studying an online digital marketing course to ensure we can sell the product, I have taken a second job to give us the extra starter money and we have been taking webinars and researching all about Shopify. Our goal is to be up and running by late September/October time. If you like I can give you another update then and maybe if it works after a few weeks or whatever suits then I’d be delighted to talk my way through it? Oh and Cillian is pronounced with a K 😂 Thanks again for everything, let me know your thoughts if you have a better plan. Yours sincerely, Cillian” So as you will hear on the show, we have now added Cillian to the Join Up Dots guest list and look forward to sharing his story with the world when he becomes a huge success. So in answer to Chris’s comment, yes there are options as to health insurance and health care for those starting their own business but you need to listen to the show to find out. We dont want to make things too easy for you do we 🙂 Thank you so much for listening to the show David

Today's guest joining us on the show, is a man with his finger on the pulse. There is a truth in business, especially online businesses that it's all about community. Build a community around you and you build flag-bearers, supporters and a captive audience of loyal customers ready to buy and help your business grow. But how do you get to the point of knowing how this all works, and most importantly being able to teach others? Well, he started off his career in the travel industry, at a young age, he worked his way into management and gained experience in leadership and understanding what motivated a team. Within the role, he developed an understanding of the importance of transcultural leadership and the impact this has on a business through innovation and motivation. Which lead him to where he is today. As our guest says "Throughout my career, I have understood that a community culture is needed to help power increased innovation and productivity in a workplace. From my practical research to working with different companies, I developed my consultancy in this field and have presented practical workshops that give leaders the inside knowledge on making this community-based culture work within a business. The development of my understanding led me to write a book on the subject. Titled “How to Build a Community in your Business,” So for our listeners building their own businesses, what is the quickest, but strongest way of gaining that community. And are there common mistakes that he sees being made time and time again, even by people and companies that should know better? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with Robert Mitton. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Robert Mitton such as: Why the United Kingdom are so poor at creating a community spirit in their towns and cities unlike other countries who seem to do it naturally Robert explains how there are four key elements of building a community that makes a game changing community. Why it is so important to encourage ownership within a community and get people to do their own thing to really make a community grow. and lastly............. Robert shares the steps that he took to get his business off the ground, and the number one bug bear of his.....that can stop all companies from ever reaching their true potential.
