Join Up Dots Podcast (Entrepreneurs)

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who first connected with the show as a listener. However once she told me about her dreams for the future, the hustle she is showing daily, and how she wants to change the lives of millions of children across the world then she wasn't going to be only a listener anymore. This is a lady who is moving forward  to where she wants to be by hook or by crook. As she says "I was very dyslexic as a child, and rather failed at school, until the last year when I worked out a system to remember things. After lots of hard work I finally made it to a Producer Director and ended up winning a film documentary award at ceremony where the BBCs classic programmes Blue Planet and Office also won. Then I went on and created, produced & directed the longest running show on MTV uk which is still loved by teenagers and all skate boarders around the world. My children must never know I was involved in it! However at this point i felt it was time to take some time out, so I slowed down to raise my 3 children as TV work and children aren't a good combination. Which lead med to my passion project. " The work that will be her legacy is called Table Fables, which has been created to help children everywhere learn their times tables in a fun and enjoyable way, against the classic repeat in a drone until you fall into a coma method TABLE FABLES are fun memorable short stories that teach children the times tables by giving them a hook to remember the answers. Children remember the numbers by recalling the funny story, with their mantra being LEARN FUNNY. The technique is based on the peg memory system, which gives children the ability to remember the numerical position of items on a list, in or out of sequence. The peg system has been proven to be one of the most effective memory aids used to date. Each number, from 1 to 12, is represented by a character. Two characters (e.g. 8 Snowman & 3 mouse) interact to create a funny, short story, which reveals the answer. This has already helped hundreds of children already and hopefully millions more in the future. So what gave her the idea to start helping children across the world, her own childhood struggles or simply a business opportunity? And where have the been the key areas of growth that our listeners can duplicate in their own online ventures? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Rebecca Ginger  Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Rebecca Ginger such as: Rebecca shares how the idea for Tables Fables first came to due to the difficulties her own children were having with learning. We discuss why the validation of others was such an important part of the growth process of her business. Belief fosters belief all the way. Rebecca reveals how powerful Upwork was for her business by finding affordable talent that helped grow her business quickly. and lastly…. We both reveal why our own childhoods education was less than inspiring, and why the world is changing for the better in our kids lives.

How Do You Take Fun And Improvisation Into The Biz World

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man after 20 years of performing hundreds of improv comedy shows across the country has learned that the same principles that apply to improv comedy also apply to business, mental, and leadership skills .As an author, speaker, coach, improv comedian, and the Founder of Live Yes And!,  he as been helping businesses and athletes apply the cornerstone improv mindset-“YES, And! To succeed in life and business for the last 10 years. In the world of improvisation, “YES, And” means accepting whatever is being given to you, and then responding and building on that reality. Most of us live life in denial – saying “no” to reality. This leads to a life unfulfilled and lived in fear. Living “YES,And” is about accepting and embracing everything that is happening–even the bad stuff! Why? Because good or bad, the only way to move forward is by facing it and moving through it. As a professional public speaker and coach, he has trained thousands of people and dozens of organizations like the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, University of Georgia Football, US Soccer, Gatorade, PepsiCo, and Under Armour on the principles of improvisation and how developing a “YES,And” mindset will help create an engaged, creative, collaborative, and healthier life and work place. So was this a dawning realisation that his skills could be transferred into more and more lucrative areas, or a "God i need some more cash what can I do quickly?" route? And why are so many people frightened of "Yes" when it always brings some potential for growth in their lives? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Travis Thomas Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Travis Thomas such as: Why the concept of "Yes, And" was born from a desire to prove support and mindset to the corporate world which can lead to the kind of success that are required everywhere. Travis shares how throughout his journey there have been times when quite frankly he didn't have a clue...but that's ok. You can always figure things out. We discuss how the best comedy isn't about finding the joke, but is instead finding the truth. The connection with reality is where real humour is formed. and lastly…. Why sometimes, no matter how positive you are as an individual you have to  wallow in your despair. You have to sit in the goo ready for the big transformation to occur.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the Founder + Designer of a brilliant company called Craft Street Design She 100% turned her life around to create a 6 figure business in 6 months designing quotes to hang in your house. And now she is on a mission to help us all achieve our goals, be happy, and pass on the inspiration to everyone around the world through her designs. And I think it is the truth to say that she needed this inspiration before everyone else, and the message needed to be learnt before she could ever start to give back to the world. As she says "A few years back I was making six-figure income, was working for my dream company (Apple) and had a flexible work schedule. In spite of all this, I was miserable. To make things worse one day, my 10 yr old daughter said, “ Mommy you are just not nice when you come back from your job”. That was a wake up call. I wanted to make a change. I wanted to be happy. I wanted to be a good mom. But I didn’t know how." So how do you do this? How do you find the light to move through a bad arranged marriage, a life that wasn't making you happy to the point of suicidal thoughts, and no clue as to the future. Well today's guest found that route through five words on her kitchen wall, and that is the perfect point to start today's episode of Join Up Dots. So is Craft Street Design the business she has always wanted to have, or just another dot towards the big deam that is waiting for her? And why is it that we all allow ourselves to feel such despair when the world is literally screaming "Here is the future....do you want it or not??" all around us? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Pratima Aravabhoomi Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Pratima Aravabhoomi such as: Why Donald trump might just be the kind of leader that the country was waiting for, although he might just well be the worst too. How she created her first business, and the dramatic fail of of not making one single sale of the product. Pratima shared openly how she would balance her time with her daughter, and the measures she takes to ensure she enjoys her life away from her business and lastly…. The hustle, and persistence it takes to start any business off, which frightens so many people away from creating their dream-lives.

Free Marketing Can Be Amazing For Any Business And Best Of All Its Easy To Do Too

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who comes to the show with quite eclectic history. If you take British entrepreneur, piano player, international racing driver and business coach who grew his own business to 8-figures, then exited and founded Jonnyhatesmarketing.com, helping coaches, trainers and therapists find more of their ideal clients, more easily, mix them all together you will have our guest. Which is unusual and similar at the sametime. As you will no doubt know coaching is huge business across the online and offline world and literally it seems million of people are chasing clients to build their own business. Our guest though thinks that you dont need to chase anyone. Our guest actually hates marketing, and is more than reluctant to pay for any type of Facebook marketing As he says “I have helped hundreds of coaches to build their thriving practice, using the Three Principles of Effortless Marketing. Yes, you can get your ideal clients chasing you, build a thriving coaching or therapy business that doesn’t need you there all the time, and join the 1% of £100k+ earners in the transformation profession…all that WITHOUT spending a penny on advertising, working like a dog, or losing your mind… So is this simply jedi mind tricks or simple honest business principles that the world has long forgotten? And when did he realise that he had to find a new way of operating for his own sanity not least his clients? Why it is vitally important to define your avatar right from the start of your business. Know these characters as well as you know yourself to grow success. Johnny shares how he used to be commuting everywhere to drive his business where he wanted it to go, whilst now he lets the business come to him. and lastly…. Why Johnny now feels it is so important to not to try to please everyone….find your ideal person or client and ignore the rest.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who isn’t just a guest, but I would like to say he is now a friend. A long distant friend, who is presently living a life that so many of my listeners crave, but feel its unattainable. So let’s show you all in this episode that is most certainly not unattainable, and with the right mindset, money strategy and vision you can all be doing the very same. Today’s guest along with his wife Lucy is travelling the world, blogging, podcasting, and working on monetization channels into their fledgling business Life Design Diaries. As he says “Whilst disrupting the work and travel norms, my wife Lucy and I have created a series of adventures. We are travelling the world whilst building a portfolio of enterprises and we’re documenting the whole experience on our Podcast, LIFE DESIGN DIARIES.” Life Design is the practice of thinking and actively pursuing the lifestyle you want. Life is short, we all know that, so why compromise? We’re married, entrepreneurs, and travelling the world… all at the same time. There was a moment in our lives when we decided to take action rather than imagine. A decision that has lead to more freedom and fulfilment than we ever would have achieved in our 9-5’s. Yes they have had struggles, but they have faced them head on and now share this massive lesson with the world. They want us all to realise how much control we have in our lives, and to inspire us all to design and pursue the life you want. So when he was store manager in Sainsburys just a few years ago, did he wander the aisles looking at exotic vegetables thinking “One day I will be picking you from where you grow my friend”? And what was the first stage they had to prepare for…the leap and trust the process, or working on the nest egg of savings to ease the way to where they are today? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Ross Menghini. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ross Menghini such as: Why Ross is so clear that his and his wife are documenting the climb and not the view from the type Why it is so important to not try to be someone else when you start, even if you look unprofessional. An unprofessional you is better than a professional someone your not. Ross recalls how his childhood was surrounded by an entrepreneurial spirit from his father, so it was with a surprise that it took him years to start his own path. and lastly…. Ross shares his feelings of travelling the world with your partner 24/7 and how to gain the need for space in your life.

Dan Lok is the master at high ticket sales training..but was it an easy route to the top of the sales training mountain?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazing story of persistence, failure, hardship and finding the thing that made all the difference. Coming to North America as a teenager with almost no English and no contacts, to ease the way to the success he is experiencing today, life was hard. As he says "“My parents and I immigrated to Vancouver, Canada when I was 14 years old. I came to Canada as a teenager with no money, no contacts, and without knowing a word of English. Then when I turned 16, my parents got a divorce. As the only child, my mom needed help financially, so I had to put school aside and put her well-being first. I learned to support my mom by practicing the basic principles of life and business. I failed at 13 businesses before having my first success. Through the process, I perfected the art of never giving up and learned from my mistakes. Life back then was never easy, but today I can say that I’m blessed to have attained a lot of my life goals. Today, I spend most of my time helping consultants, coaches, speakers, and thought leaders grow their businesses and scale it past five and six figures per month. While amplifying their impact in the world and helping them achieve their business and life goals, I know if I can impact 1,000,000 leaders, they can go out and impact billions.” And that is where he is today, known as the the King of High-Ticket SalesTM, a two time TEDx opening speaker and international best-selling author of 12 books. Not just that but he is the highest-paid and most in-demand consultant in the luxury and high-ticket space, and has been featured on the cover of Jetset Magazine. He is now a founder or partner in more than fifteen companies in various industries, ranging from luxury goods, digital marketing, education, and e-commerce. He is passionate about helping coaches, consultants and other entrepreneurs make more money selling to fewer people. A true immigrant success story, that shows that the American Dream, at least the Canadian one is still alive and kicking if you only want it hard enough. So when did the true confidence that he is showing today first come through, and the shy hesitant teeneager get left behind forever? And does he look back and think "Man i'm actually glad that those thirteen business failed or I wouldnt be where I am today?" Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Dan Lok

Opportunities are all around our businesses, so how do we remain focused on the end goal?

In today's solo show David Ralph answers a question sent through to him this week from a gentleman and also shares a post from his coaching group Dream Starters Academy. Lets start with the question........ Hi David Firstly can i say thank you so much for all you are doing in the world today through your show. I know it can't be easy for you to maintain such an output. I used to listen to Join Up Dots when you first started, and Ill be honest due to life commitments, children, work and everything else I stopped. Not just listening to you, i hasten to add but to podcasts on a whole. I found them an interruption to my business life, but now after a hiatus I have rediscovered them and was amazed to see that you weren't just still going, but in fact seemed to be flourishing. So good on you pal. Would you mind answering a question as it seems that you have got total focus as to your life, and arent pulled in directions that aren't right for you or your business. How do you decide on what opportunities are right for you, and are your chasing squirrels like so many people that are online today. Ok that was two questions but if you get the chance to read and respond I would truly appreciate it All the best and thanks again Todd Doors Maple Grove Minnesotta And now for the post taken from the coaching group Today we had a farewell party for a colleague who is leaving his super well paid job to start his own company. When he said he‘s going to bake French bread in Mumbai, I thought at first: What??? How do you go from a business development and strategy position in a pharmaceutical company to baking bread? But in his farewell speech he explained that he saw this job as a kind of startup (it was a new project) where he gained additional skills for his own business because his first real startup failed. So I guess it can be really useful to go back into corporate to upskill yourself before jumping into a new adventure. Bettina Dream Starters Academy Of course as always you need to listen to the show to hear the answers....it is a podcast after all. Thanks for listening David

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who ill be honest I stumbled across on the web, but as soon as I saw him, i thought “Right lets have him on the show” He has a story to success that goes 100% in a different direction to what the world is telling you you must do. He is a keynote speaker and author, books including Social Media Is Bullshit and Privacy: And How We Can Get It Back. He first received attention in the late 2000s for turning his financial struggles during The Great Recession into media coverage with appearances in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Los Angeles Times, and others. After building an unsuccessful national breast cancer outreach tour around the advice given by prominent social media marketers — and subsequent success in doing the same tour again the following year by doing the exact opposite of their advice — he went on to write a book called Social Media Is Bullshit based on his experience. He later earned additional media attention for frequently taking on prominent social media experts and companies. Since 2012, he has has made presentations at the National Automotive Dealers Association Conference, South By Southwest, Social Media Week: Chicago, The Do Lectures in the U.K., R.O.A.D. in Moscow, the Word of Mouth Marketing Association Summit, Social Media Explore, and various other events to talk about the many myths peddled by social media marketers and what really works online and off. As one of the reviews of his book state ““I’ve been telling everyone for years that social media is just the same bullshit we’ve always done sped up 1000 times. Finally someone’s laid it all out in book form” Love this. So is the fundamental flaw regarding social media, simply that its not social at all? And is just a blast everywhere, scream loudest competition? Or are there even more subtle ways to create success in our business without the need for FB, Twitter, Insta and all the rest? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr B.J Mendelson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with B.J. Mendelson such as: Why BJ feels the moment that people tell you to use some element of social media is the moment that its use has gone. BJ shares why 5,000 is a great figure for multiplicity of brand, by word of mouth. Get to hat figure and you are really up and running. Why the quickest way of success is to become an expert in just one thing and become the best at that until the world takes notice. and lastly…. BJ reveals the time that he died and how he dragged himself from a field in Wales all the way back to the states to pay health bills.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who from 18 years old until 22 worked as a systems analyst for a medical device company. Putting systems into play, he increased efficiency and decreased cost, helping to make the company 50% more profitable. For the next he ran a successful design and advertising company, serving over 250 clients, where he delivered workshops and masterclasses to over 1,000 business owners on subjects including marketing, product architecture, pricing, websites and more. With fearless goal setting and accountability,  his program is turning dreams into reality for clients around the world. Well that sounds pretty standard to what most people who want to come onto Join Up Dots offer to me, but there was one sentence on his website that made me sit up and take notice. What does a business coach look like to you? Slick, sharp suited, maybe a little flash? That’s not my style. I believe that what you say is more important than how you dress – and I’m more interested in delivering real results than impressing you with my image. And so i looked again, and realised that this was man standing in front of his audience in t-shirt and jeans. This was a man doing things his way, and in a way that would bring more and more results into his business. He was being authentic and the person that he wanted to be. So was there once a slick, sharp suited version of todays guest, trying to find his way to his authentic self? And if it's a truth that the quickest way to success is niching down tighter and tighter, where is his target customer sitting waiting for him? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Robin Waite. It wasn't something that he was born with, but closely developed over time. We discuss why some customers wont understand that they shouldn't buy your products, but its so important to stand your ground and give them what they really need. Robin discusses his five key sectors of business focus, and how this has given him a great platform to create business success. and lastly…. Self Help Experts Sometimes Struggle With Developing Themselves To Help Their Own Clients.

When we last met our guest on today’s episode of the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, she was in the middle of experiencing some massive growth, Yes, in both her business life and her personal life she was smashing through the barriers. Kicking over her self limiting doubts And creating an amazing future for herself. She has done this by asking great questions to her clients that flock to her like moths to a flame. She asks “Are you someone who is burned out from working hard for many years yet afraid to step back out of fear of losing all you’ve gained? Are your work obligations keeping you from having deeply meaningful relationships with your family and friends? Do you feel stuck in a situation that takes everything you’ve got yet know there has to be more to life…an ultimate state of joy, satisfaction, and fulfilment.” Now the interesting thing about her and what I want to discuss in this show, is whether she truly believed it when she first said it? Did she fully embrace the power that an individual possesses in their day to day lives to create one that is remarkable. Was it by doing the work, and seeing the results in her clients that she fully embraced the possibilities that she could create? You see she has had three stages of success from working 22+ years n the world of finance, pouring herself into earning a high salary, collecting great bonuses and moving up the ladder. Then after facing a major life crisis followed by several tragedies, she moved towards answering the question of could She ever have both inner fulfilment and outer wealth.” And now after creating a successful coaching business, she has sold her long time home, moved to Hawaii, and now come back to Arizona and starting something new. So with all this movement and action taking, how does she know that she is travelling the right course in her life? And does she get excited by the road she is travelling all the time, or are there still “Wow, I am so unsure of this” moments, lets just sit on the sofa and do nothing today times? Todays Join Up Dots free podcast interview is inspired by a guy who personally connected with via email with a huge statement of intent in the last couple of days. He advised me of a goal that he is setting in his life and that goal is to have a beer with me in a bar. As he said on his email "I have a long back story, but I won’t bore you with it, however due to your podcast, your unbelievable personality and wonderful smile (I know I can’t see your smile! Lol)  I am putting a goal out there for myself and that is to have a pint with you at a bar within 2 years. I know many people would have a goal of being on your show or something like that, but I know being a successful entrepreneur takes time and while I have fluttered in business/side businesses, well they were hobbies really, for a while this is the first time I’m making an investment in myself (I joined Flipped Lifestyle because of your podcast and when I’m ready to start a podcast I will certainly join your program)." And believe me it may seem like such a simple thing to want to do. It may seem to many of you as something that isn't really a goal. But it is 100% a goal, as a goal is a target with intention behind it. A goal is something to work towards due to an internal desire to make it happen That is where goal setting becomes difficult to achieve, when you haven't got the desire to truly make it happen.  You set a goal because you think it is something that you should be doing and not because you want to with everything ounce of passion you possess. So in this episode of Join Up Dots we look at finding the passion that that can make every goal a breeze to set and even more beeezy to achieve

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has been through a journey of discovery to get him to where he is today. Happy, relaxed and rocking and rolling After two decades of running a successful pharmacy practice and then losing it all, he entered a period of deep personal struggle. Each night he would walk along a country road hoping to find a few minutes of peace, but he ultimately discovered something far more valuable. What could you do if you had a simple plan to increase energy, get in better shape, and improve your mental and emotional health? You have more pressure on you than ever. With competing demand from work, family, friends, and our communities, it’s no wonder so many people are stressed, overweight, unhealthy, and exhausted. He felt the pressure, too. He sacrificed his mental, physical, and emotional health to the demand of his pharmacy practice until he discovered the medications he was paid to dispense often offered only temporary symptom relief and left people still suffering. He discovered that true health and happiness comes from finding balance in seven key areas, so he developed a simple plan anyone can use. In his new book, How to Live Until You Die, he makes it simpler than ever to unlock a healthier, happier, and more whole you, so today can mark a new beginning for your total health! So does everyone need to go through a dark night of the soul to become truly focused on what life is all about? And where does he see that people go wrong in their life, trying to do too much, or not actually trying to do anything? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Dr. Phil Carson. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is an man who has quite a journey to where he is today. Many moons ago, he purchased a website that sold various popcorn goods. During this venture, he found a need to automate parts of his business and that need inspired him to create Spark Shipping, a business that helps eCommerce retailers self-operate their connections with their vendors Currently he automates millions of orders for eCommerce and retail entrepreneurs every month, which is enough orders to fill every seat in Fenway Park hundreds of times. Or, as as our guest would say, Fenway “Pahhk.” Or as me and most people from the UK would say....nope, never heard of Fenway Park Anyway what Spark Shipping does is to automate the communications between e-Commerce sites and vendors (warehouses, distributors, manufacturers, etc). The communications that are automated are: getting inventory quantities from vendors, sending orders to vendors and getting tracking/shipment data back from vendors. Spark Shipping sits between the shopping cart and vendors to get the data back and forth between them. So its alright having these ideas of "Wouldn't it be good if we could do xyz" but how do you get this off the ground? And was it plain sailing or a rollercoaster that gradually hit its stride? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Charles Palleschi Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Charles Palleschi such as: Why he feels its so important to understand all aspects of a business when you are the leader, to ensure consistency and productivity throughout. How he manages to balance home life and work life, especially now he has young children who want to see their Dad before bedtime each day. What he does to manage the difficult times in his business, when decisions need to be made that will lead into unchartered territories. and lastly…. The first steps he took to became the entrepreneur he is today, and what he would advise anyone of our listeners wanting to do the same.

owners of the subsidiaries. As they say "Unity Group exists to enable entrepreneurs to scale and solve bigger and more meaningful problems. Their mission "To work with great entrepreneurs and change makers to scale their businesses, solve bigger problems and connect investor capital with those who can deliver the best results." Right this is serious stuff, so let's start digging around to find out more not just about this venture but also the man himself. How has he found himself creating more and more opportunities for himself without getting a serious case of burnout? And would he have seen himself doing this the last time he was on Join Up Dots, or does he just go with the flow and see what happens? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Callum Laing Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Callum Laing such as: How Callum overcomes the dip in the business process, that everyone has to go through when growing a business. Callum explains why he never invests in his own ideas....so he always tries to pre-sell the idea before putting too much time into it. Why it is so important to surround yourself with the level of knowledge that you need, but just can't gain yourself. Don't think that you are a master of everything. and lastly…. Why the value proposition is so important in every regard of growing a business. You have to work out how you can over deliver before you ever hope to start taking back.

In todays show David Ralph discusses the lack of personal development that he sees in the listeners to the show that he speaks to. David, talks to listeners across the world and when he asks them "So how many books have you read this month?" more often than not gets told "Nah, I dont like reading books to be honest" So where is the desire to find out more knowledge and become better at the thing that you can do better than most? Where are you getting the information from that can make you a category of one in your life, and be saught out by clients from across the world. 5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Personal Development Personal development is more than just working on talents you already have: it’s about growing, becoming more aware, and gaining valuable abilities that you can use to make an impact in this world. I always put it like this: If you’re not growing, you’re dying. Sounds extreme, doesn’t it? But it’s so true. If you’re not learning new skills and working on yourself as a person, life can get boring! Personally, I’m committed to take at least one course/ training program each year – whether an in person event or online program/ webinar. This has helped me make quantum leaps in my life, relationships and business. For example, this year, I took Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within (highly recommend going!), Marie Forleo’s B-School, Laura Roeder’s Creating Fame, The Art of Sales & Marketing training etc. Today I want all of you to do one thing for yourself. For your growth and development. For your future. Disclaimer: this may mean going outside. But that’s okay, because you’re ready to do this! You deserve to be your best self, always. It’s time to make an investment in yourself that will take you to the next level. Here are my top reasons why you should invest in your personal development: 1.You’ll make important new connections. Follow my ABC rule for networking and you’ll find yourself happier, more approachable, and with more opportunities faster than you can blink an eye: Always Be Connecting. Because growing your network means more than finding new people who can help you get where you want to go. Your network is your lifeline. It’s your relationships, your opportunities, and a support system that you can fall back on when times are tough. 2. You’ll gain confidence. The more skills you have, the more confident you’ll become. You’ll have more to talk about when you meet others, and you’ll become more certain of your own abilities and strengths. Own your greatness and live the exciting life that you deserve! 3. You’ll learn new things and grow as a person. Personal development should be something you take on for yourself. It’s more than just an investment in your career, it’s an investment in your growth, awareness, and identity. Every time I attend a training, I always get new ideas and inspiration. 4. You’ll gain marketable skills. Some great skills for you to learn regardless of your industry: photoshop, HTML, WordPress, Adwords, and advanced Excel. Other soft skills you gain by investing in personal development include communication, presentation, and decision making skills. They stand out to employers and could separate you from the hundreds of other candidates. 5. You’ll be seen as someone who takes initiative and curious to make things better. Though it shouldn’t be the primary reason why you engage in personal development, a lot of the courses, classes, and conferences you attend can be translated into experience on your resume. A well-rounded candidate has more than experience in their industry – they excel because they can draw on perspectives and learning that they have gained while developing themselves. My top tip for finding relevant and interesting events: visit www.eventbrite.com. Look for conferences, courses, workshops, and seminars that fit your interests, then take a leap and sign up! Or ask your friends and colleagues for recommendations. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. What courses/ programs/ training have you taken that transformed your life? What do you recommend and why? What is one new training you are committed to taking?

Navy Seals Are A Tough Bunch, But How Tough Is Life After Leaving The Navy Seals?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who has been on one of the most difficult journeys anyone can take. How to transition from a successful career in the US military to living a successful life as a civilian and top businessman. He served 23 years with distinguished Valor as a Navy SEAL, and during his military career he served in three wars, ultimately leading a team of Navy SEALs into Afghanistan in 2009 where he earned a Silver Star, Bronze Star with Valor, Army Commendation with Valor and his second Combat Action Medal. He was hand-selected to serve as Officer In Charge of the famed SEAL Sniper course from 2009 – 2011, and during his two year tenure, he transformed the sniper curriculum while successfully increasing both graduation numbers and shooting performance test scores. Now of course on Join Up Dots, we are all about the transition to business success. How do you find your thing when for many years you were doing what was expected and not what was truly inside of you. Well he is now the founder and CEO of Adamantine Alliance, a unique leadership and human performance coaching organization. He conducts training throughout the nation developing transformational performance results for various individuals, teams and organizations, using the skills that he had fine tuned over the past 23 years. Taking the seemingly disconnected dots of his previous life, to walk forward with confidence and passion into a new future? So when he was in the military did he start planning for what he was going to do in civilian life?  And when did he realise that his past was actually holding all the answers to his future? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Thom Shea. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Thom Shea such as: What he considers to be the five key areas of life and how he manages to balance time between them all. Why he loves nothing more than moving into areas that are unwinnable, due to the lack of competition and the excitement he feels.  Why social media is the only place that leaves him into a position of despair....so tries to keep out of it as much as possible. and lastly…. He hits with the perfect advice of "Dont ever find a way out, find a way through the problem."....how powerful is that?

Sailing Around The World With Your Family WIth Caspar Craven

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who really believes in going where the heart leads. At the age of 14 he launched his first business catching crabs and lobsters, and wow what a success. By the age of 16 he was exporting 1/2 tonne of crabs a week to Spain. Realising that catching crabs wasn't going to make an impact on the world, he then went to University and for the next 8 years worked in the corporate world - first as a Chartered Accountant and then as an Investment Banker at KPMG. In 2001 he returned to entrepreneurial life as an e-commerce entrepreneur, and over the following 15 years, raised money for, built, grown and sold businesses primarily in the technology sector. As he says "I've made mistakes. I've fallen over. I've got up again and carried on. I've had some great successes and some failures." which is of course what life is all about. But how do you take that feeling of...ok, things could go a bit wrong, but hey we can deal with it and have fun in the process too? Well he has done just that and in 2009, along with his wife he hatched a plan to sail around the world with his young children and spent the next 5 years planning how to make things happen. Now in 2016, he successfully completed his circumnavigation having experienced amazing highs, having to make heart-wrenching decisions and agonising lows on his 7-year voyage from idea to completion. He has been on a journey of discovery, not least to find the strength within himself to take forward and inspire others to take action and go for it. Now he is on a mission to be a truly inspiring leadership and team building speaker, giving actionable advice on how to achieve amazing results both professionally and personally, changing lives for the better. So how do you take your own passions and convince the family that its also a great idea for them to get involved in? And when it goes wrong, is there always an answer or sometimes just a different direction to the end goal? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Caspar Craven   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Caspar Craven such as: Caspar shares how he was advised by his father to become a chartered accountant as it was a safe job, which he can now see was never the right place for himself to end up. We talk with passion as to the delight he has found since he got back to land, taking people on a journey of discovery, through his talks, presentations and leadership lessons. Caspar reveals the moment when he sat with his wife and asked her "Is there more to life than this....and if there is, lets go out and get it" and lastly…. Why he now teaches his children to focus in on what they are most interested in and go deeper and deeper into the subject to find the path.

Work And Travel Dont Mix...Or Do They? R Michael Anderson Has Made A Success Doing The Work And Travel Thing.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who has had a fascinating and arduous journey to where he is today. He is the founder of The Executive JOY Institute, and specializes in teaching organizations, leaders, and individuals how to become even more successful through psychology, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness. Which if you have listened to episodes of Join Up Dots you will have heard similiar guests speak of such work. Where today’s guest differs is by the age of thirty-five, he had founded three international software companies, played semi-professional basketball (yes, he’s really six-foot nine!), and partied at the Playboy Mansion which sounds pretty amazing life affirming stuff. But our guest didn’t agree and knew that he wasn’t happy. Hard drugs, alcohol, a divorce, and a nasty lawsuit brought him to a low point where he needed to ask himself the big questions in life. A quest for change included earning a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the prestigious University of Santa Monica. And now he has taught leaders around the world, from Panama to the Philippines to Australia and Mexico, and has worked with a broad range of clients, including Microsoft and SAP So is he what he would consider to be happy now or still searching for something unattainable to him……simple contentment in life? And why does he think that we all set out on a path that appears to be wrong at the beginning even thouh the clues are all around us? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr R Michael Anderson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Michael Anderson such as: Why he now believes that coming to grips with our feelings is one of the quickest ways to achieve massive success in our lives……let the gut lead the way and its rarely wrong.. Why he had to make a decision to change his life for one of travel and freedom of location as he knew it would be the right one for him in the long term. We discuss why we fail so much through the education systems lack of inspiation and focus on failures…surely it should be strengths all the way? Michael shares the “Should or Fear” process of decision making in his life which he applies everyday. and lastly…. Why the Buddist prinicples of “It is” is such a powerful way to operating in a business. By accepting everything for what it is, we dont waste time trying to change things into what it should never be.

On today’s show, which is a solo show David Ralph talk about inspiration. The lack of it, having it in abundance, and those occasions when it appears at the strangest moments but gives you the boost to keep going. He is also targeting himself to read 52 books this year on personal development, success and life changing stories of achievement. What is even more amazing is not only is he trying his hardest to make a difference to himself and the world, he is also raising two lovely happy boys who know have inspiration in front of them every single day. He is leaving alegacy on his own kids by showing them a different way of operating. How to keep ones personal good vibrations at a high level to ensure life opportunities come your way. So in this episode David talk about inspiration, and what to do when it has disappeared from you. Building A Network Is Tough, But As Travis Chappell Reveals Its The Key To Fast Success

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who believes that your network is your true net worth. Yeah, we have heard this phrase many times on Join Up Dots, but what does it truly mean, and how can you build a business around it? Well his belief that it's not what you know its who you know started for him back in high school. He started to figure out that if he could land larger landscaping jobs, it would actually pay a much higher hourly wage, while being able to afford to pay a lower hourly wage to workers to help him get the job done faster. As he says "I remember sitting in class one day while managing two landscaping jobs that I had done nothing but sell and manage, but I was still going to make the same or more than the college students I was paying to do the labor on the jobs. That is when I realized the value of selling and creating customer relationships." And so as you can see the germ of an idea which had been there niggling away for quite a few years was already there, it just needed to wait until his dots began lining up. And now those dots are well and truly lining a path across the world. As the founder of the Build Your Network podcast he is bringing tips, to interviews and weekly advice to anyone looking to blast a path to the top. As he says "If you have ever wondered how to meet the influential people in your industry, if you have ever been frustrated because you just aren't moving forward in your career as quickly as you thought you would, if you don't lack ambition or a thirst for learning, but just can't seem to get ahead, then look no further than Build Your Network." So what is it about building networks that people struggle with the most? And does he see the same mistakes being made time and time again? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Travis Chappell Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Travis Chappell such as: We discuss how everybody is just six degrees of separation, which is why it is so important to start your network to give you the greatest chance of success. Travis shares his reasons for not going for the big love in your life, but  instead trying to find the love within a job that you may not like doing. Self development has been a big part of Travis' success, with masterminds, courses and conferences a huge but worth expense at the start. Are you ready to invest in yourself? and lastly…. Travis answer the big question that needed to be asked: Would he say he was a "Stalker or groomer"...you need to listen to the episode to find out the answer.

Today's episode of Join Up Dots is another one of the special ones that make me really proud to bring to the world. This is one of those shows whereby a listener of Join Up Dots, has taken so much action in their life, that they deserve to be blasted across the world. And today's guest is going to do just that, as he is a musician, teacher, singer, songwriter, father, husband and a man flexing the hustle muscle everyday. Starting his love for music when he was just nine years old when he started strumming the guitar, and by the age of 12 he had formed his first band “Splat” and was performing original music at school talent shows, ice-cream socials and private parties. And it's all these activities at such a tender age which have the opportunity to become more than something just to do. Actually becoming the first steps on the path to adulthood, and a life of their dreams. But what happens when life has different plans? What should you do when the future that you want is harder to come by than you expected? Where you find different ways of doing it, and today's guest has done just that. After recording his own album "Iowa Weather" he found himself in a slump. He was working all the hours god gave him, he was supporting his family like every father should, and his recorded album was not getting out to the world. And that is where we will begin today's show, as although I have never met him but I am proud to call him my guitar twanging buddy. So has he ever been a normal employee, sitting in a cubicle waiting until 17:00pm to arrive so he can scamper home....free from the days hassles? Or has he set out on on his path joining up his dots, with no plan B of any shape or form? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Dan Trilk.

Welcome to the Join UP Dots podcast, it's a delight to have you here. In todays episode we have based it around the following review that we received from a listener in the UK (and believe us we LOVE getting nice ratings and reviews). Now this one was quite profound, as it touched on something that causes us all issues at times in our life. How we should deal with negativity in our day to day life, and especially the type that surrounds us because of the work and the like. You know the people who aren't really bad, and miserable, just a bit lost and make it known to others. So anyway, here is the review Join up dots     May 9, 2018 by Seacroft18 from United Kingdom Just discovered these podcasts and listen to them everyday on the way to work. Inspirational people and an excellent host! Highly recommend. I am an enthusiastic person surrounded by fairly negative people and was finding myself dragged down. This podcast is excellent for focus and new ideas amongst many other things and most of all it gives me a lift! As David mentioned on the show, the best way to overcome this is to start replacing them in your life. Yes, its not easy, but it can be done and if you want to find an easy way start with looking at other influences and not just at the people. Start by reading more positive content, or listening to more positive podcasts. Surround your workspace with motivational quotes and images. Get your mind to start looking for the good in things (and people) more and more, and little by little you will realise that the negativity is something that you wont tolerate anymore. You will need to get rid of them in your life and will take active steps to achieve that no matter how difficult it is.

How To Start An Event Planning Business With Carolien Mertens

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is helping the world of online ventures jump out of the screen and into live events. To date, she has planned over 100 events in a variety of industries, and served more than 10,000 participants. As she says "I started my career in events curating art auctions in a top European Gallery. Here, I learned the ins and outs of planning seamlessly orchestrated high-end events, and the art of “white glove” service for the upper class. Think event attendees like multi-millionaires with Swiss chalets and art-loving Middle East Sheikhs. After helping Fortune 500 companies like the World Bank and the World Health Organization, I brought my work online so that I can serve driven entrepreneurs changing the world." So all the experience that she gained in corporate land gave her the skills to create her own flourishing business. She was working everyday for someone else, but actually when the time came she had actually been working on her own self development (and getting paid for it) Now since two years ago, she has left her corporate job, got her first freelancing clients, closed the long distance gap with her partner,  moved to Italy to be with him then moved to Spain. It has been as she says "Quite a ride so far, learning new languages, making new friends, and building a business that’s 75% working from my local coffee shop La Gallofa on my computer, 25% traveling around the world to meet clients and run events. Today I’m in Amsterdam, next month I’ll cover Belgium, Spain and Sedona, Arizona." So how did she come up with the idea of event planning for herself, and now that she could make it work across the world? And where do people go wrong the most when starting their own online venture? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Carolien Mertens   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Carolien Mertens such as: How she didn't have clue to what her life during University was going to be, but didn't care. She had total belief that her life would work out in a way that she would love. We discuss how Carolien has used her talents for observing to be a successful in her business, and why tapping into your natural talents is the best way to find success. Carolien gives great advice to everyone looking at entering the event planning world...and it is a lot more simpler than you might imagine. Carolien talks openly as to the process she took to define her ideal customer, and why it is vitally important to keep fine tuning this character as your business grows. and lastly…. Carolien reveals how she had an event that went badly wrong, and why she fought strongly to host the same event the next year. Brave or mad?

Should We Build Success Or Go Again By Resucceeding?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who came to the show, and I must admit I thought “Seen this type of guy before” And then I dug deeper and my interest was grabbed. So here is the official bio, he is a Franchise Consultant and Sales Trainer at John L. Scott, one of the most successful real estate companies in the nation. After becoming his company’s top performer in sales, breaking records and selling tens of millions of dollars in real estate, he experienced his “moment of disgust” and came to realize the dark side of a successful life. With that in mind, he wrote Resucceed to help others master their mindset and find fulfillment in success rather than becoming trapped by it. No here is the bit that hooked me, as it is 100% different to what I talk about on Join Up Dots most shows. He says “Here’s the deal: Just because you excel at some skill or possess a certain ability doesn’t mean that is why you are here on Earth or what you should give your life to. That’s the lie of success, the trap and enticement of achievement. We reach a point of failure when we mistakenly become better versions of our achievement instead of better versions of ourselves. Interesting stuff, which to be honest I didn’t quite understand, so of course I had to ask him on the show to explain more. So what was the moment of disgust in his life where he realises that success wasn’t quite what he expected? And where do most people go wrong in his view? Not knowing what they really want, or focusing on the small things instead of the big audacious goals? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr James Colburn. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with James Colburn such as: Why most people in life get kicked off a treadmill and why it takes so much time to climb back on. James speaks openly about that feeling of wanting more, even though he had everything in his life at that time in his life. Why it is so important to build a level of celebration into your business plan going forward. Dont just focus on the next goal. and lastly…. Why he knows that he is on the right track in his life, and why it is good news for himself and his family.

Building Confidence In Your Self Can Have A Huge Boost To Your Business

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who first appeared on Join Up Dots back on episode 103. When the show was just a baby compared to what it is today. Back then we discussed the unusual concept that sales is in fact a honorable profession. Wait I hear you say…surely I didn’t hear the words Sales and honourable in the same sentence? But our guest waxed lyrical about why he felt that it was in fact true, and why since 2000 he had focused his time, passions and energy’s in the world of Insurance Brokerage, coming out the other end hardened by the work that he was performing. As he said he was bloodied, bruised, kicked in the teeth, chewed-up, and spit-out. But instead of becoming cynical to this work, he instead developed a passion for helping others learn from his successes, mistakes and backstory. Focusing on four main areas, Sales training, Attitude, Connections and Loyalty he worked tirelessly to create success in his life. And now he has managed to take these concepts and turn them into a personal branding encompassing coaching, training, and keynote presentations across America. He is a man on fire, and certainly from my perspective seems to be in control of what he is doing, where perhaps the last time he was on the show wasn't quite the case. So how has he done this and still juggled the issues that comes with being a family man. And is he where he wants to be in his life, or now is he aiming for bigger and bigger things that he just couldn't have dreamt possible back in the early days. Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brent Kelly. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brent Kelly such as: Why there is a comfort level across the world, which has led to so many people to simply follow what everyone else is doing, which is a huge mistake. Follow the crowd and see your prospects diminish massively. Go your own way and get the rewards. Why Brent realises that their was a confidence issue in his life, which lead him to not fully grasp the value he could bring to the world. When this came together for him then everything became so much easier. Why the world is more and more looking for the "how long it is going to take" answer, whilst they should actually be looking at "How can I become good?" and lastly…. Why you shouldn't be worried about the comparisons that you see online today even though there are so many. Just get your head down and do the work.

Hello there good morning and welcome to Join Up Dots. This is the podcast which is the number one motivational podcast on Earth. So how are we doing. How are we doing out there. Are we rocking and rolling because it's Friday today, and some of you are going to be having an amazing weekend. Some of you are going to be working, but let us know what you're up to because at the moment as you're listening to this I'm actually on vacation. Yes. That doesn't mean that you can come to burgle my house, but I am actually on vacation. At the moment I am in the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom, a place I've never ever been before and I am exploring. So how are you doing. Are you rocking rolling. In the United Kingdom at the moment., we've had two Weird Weekends. Last weekend it was atrocious. It was terrible weather. The weekedn before it was lovely. It was shorts and sandals and I was walking about with my firm buttocks my by granite like Abts shown to the world now actually me buttocks I kept them. I don't know why I say these things but my mouth kind of runs away but my brain catches up. But by that time it's recorded and it's out there. I dont go back and change things so a couple of weeks ago was a couple of weeks ago. Was it last week it was last week wasn't it. We had Wales biggest podcast prize ever. Yep I was giving away a podcast prize of nearly four thousand dollars and I was going to bring it to an end this week but we're still getting people that are stumbling across the show and dropping in responses. So we're going to keep that going for another week or so. So if you know anybody out there who has got a business and I want to learn how to podcast and really have a successful podcast bringing customers and profile and exposure into their life then get them to order got to do is basically get the tune. I was gargling which I want to again I've got to go back and listen to the episode and tunes review send a screenshot through to us and we will put you in the draw and we've got quite a few we have got quite a few up. It's funny you kind of think yeah if you give such a big prize away then loads of people are going to do it but not generally you can sort of put some really nice stuff together and people dont release or get involved in it. This one seems to take in the imagination captured the imagination or take the imagination to read captured it. And now they are coming through you know five or six seven or eight days so there are quite a few people in the draw. But you've still got another week so we're going to draw that to an end and share it with who ever and I will teach them one on one me lie reaching out with my hands to actually teach you how to podcast. But today's show is about some very very quick questions and I sent out to our email list on one of the groups that I maintain and I just said you know one line questions just one line questions and I will bash them out like like rap and dowl you throw them at me and I will whack em back with my forehand straight to you. And we didn't get that many actually. We got five of them but are quite good questions. They're quite good questions. So this is going to be a very short episode which is all right because you got nearly a thousand other episodes join up dots to go back after all. And so we get to start with Eric Eric said. What to do when you dont know what to do. So I assume that he's doing something in his life and he's a bit confused and he answers to that. Eric I think is dont do anything. I now think that if you force it. Its not going to work you just get a kind of rubbish version of what you wanted in the first place and now Ive learnt from experience when I just cant think of what to do and I've just got too much around me and it's just kind of yeah your flicking from the screen to that screen or whatever you're doing it could be jobs externally when you look at your garden and you think he's a Parkerson much to do show like true that Bush or shall I go with the lawman's. Just walk away from it just walk away from it and you will gain clarity. It's that moment when your god you get that. You need to do again. You went a little bit like Jimmy Saville where we dont want to get involved in that kind of thing. I can do a good Jimmy Saville impression but my kids wont let me anymore. Did that only mean something to the people in the United Kingdom and not worldwide and its not a good thing. But you know when you can do something really really good and you cant do it anymore because that person has turned into a bad person. It was one of my best impressions. It was I'd been doing it for years but I won't do it. So you got quality control at the moment I've got quality control my chip has kicked in and has stopped me taking it too far. It's a burning desire. it's a burning desire. Okay so what to do when you don't know what to do is just don't do anything. Just walk away leave it. It will be there when you get back and then you can make a decision and while you are away down the Powerball. Walking through life Build's or or making love on the beach you can just think about things and you can think that's what I need to do. I will just do about one being and so I do a lot. Join up dots as we're building new products and building new email marketing lists and the new website and everything. There's times that I think oh my god i just dont know what to do. And so I dont do anything. I just walk away. Okay Eric. Hopefully that answers your question okay. How do you deal with disappointment. Right well its from Teresa now Teresa has asked her how do you deal with disappointment. I think with disappointment you have to be chemically designed to not suffer with disappointment. I hate I'm a very level playing field kinda guy went when I had something really exciting in my life on kind of a yeah that's good. If I achieve something amazing I dont really feel anything amazing. I just kind of plough on to the next spring so Im not a peaks and troughs kind of guys. So my disappointments arent too low and my achievements arent too high Im just kind of where I am which is kind of disappointing because sometimes you achieve something really good and people go. What you going to do. What are you going to do to celebrate and nothing noticed. Just do something else. Just do something else. So I do think chemically there must be some kind of imbalance that makes people feel more to disappointments and failures when other people. But certainly when I have had disappointments when I have had failures all I do Teresa is just being okay. I can learn from that now I've said this a few times on the show but there was a book that I read and is called The Secrets of a millionaire's mind and it was one line in it and this guy was desperate to be successful and no matter what he did he wasn't successful and he said to this millionaire you know can you help me. The guy said Yeah no problem at all. You dont know enough about the system you dont know enough about what youre doing and he was annoyed because he thought he was going to get that a key to the door bar upping with disappointment. You just have to look at it and go Okay I need to learn more. I thought I knew enough. I thought it was good enough but its not and I go back over joined up darts and I can see why products did work. I can see why sales funnels didnt work. Theres always more learning involved. So if you can take that disappointment and just think to yourself I didnt work but I need to learn I need to work harder at it then that's how I'd do it. That's how I do it. Okay. Oh let's clear my throat it isn't going to be the Garg or but I need to take some water. Right okay. What's your fave bit of the show. Right OK I dont know about the five bit of the show or the fave bit or doing the whole show so I am going to say the whole show was a bit of doing the whole show. I think it's connecting with you listeners beyond anything. When I get MSEE true unfortunately I get quite a lot of messages through Facebook or email and somebody has taken the time to reach out and told me a little bit about their life and their struggles and why the show has helped them or changed their life or just you know it's when somebody reaches out. I think that's my favorite thing because you realize somebody's listening your words are going into their ears and they're making a difference. And we we do a lot in your online environment doesn't come back to us is just like blast it out. Blast it out blast it out and you dont know really Avalon's sort of downloads and stuff that anyone listening and it is a truth that you get more horrible things said to you. Brenda nice beings people dont often say nice things but when you do. Thats my favorite bit when somebody has made the effort to send us an email or sent us a message on Facebook and we always we always try to respond. I love that bit. What do you hate about the show. Right I think thats the same person asking two questions but I will let you off on that. What do you hate about the show. Or to worry about the show. Right. The ad men and yeah two things I hate the admin theres a lot of admin and I could outsource it to somebody I should do really but its that kind of stuff that Im so good at doing it now I can do it really really quickly so I just spend a couple of hours and I sort of get it done. But you know when you think he's got to do that. That's a bit flat. And I do hate yes. Oh yes. Yes. Dont turn up if I am being prepared. Ready to rock and roll and record an episode and I get a message that just says something like I had one the other day running behind and then I had another one the next day running behind. And thats a bit rubbish you prioritize you get being sorted if youre going to do something youre going to do something and I hate letting anyone down. I did let down a guy the other day called Robert Randall. I do apologize again but I really do. He put some time with me it didnt sync up on my calendar so I didnt see it until he sent a message through to me saying Do you glued your pig. You said you want to be here and I will do. It doesn't all like that. Hes a lovely guy as well so thats how I fell. I fell in there because I wasnt ready for him I should have been there. So yeah I think thats a bit I hate most of all guests who are desperate to come on the show even at very last minute they cancel and I have done older research Ive done all the preparation by that time so thats a little bit rubbish. Okay and last question is from Jonathan where are you heading right. That is interesting because join up DOCSIS just turn four. And so it is more than a toddler now and the first year was very much about me. Recording shows and getting better at it. The second year was just trying to find better ways of doing it. The third year is more about me becoming the personal brand. So we are building join up dots TB because I was very aware there was a time that you would come across to the show. There was very little about me on it at all. More often than not that's what you listen to you listen to the person and the content and hopefully it connects somehow and inspires you through. So we are getting more me into it. We're going to be all joined up dots TV where you can send messages in and we will deal with them live on the show. We're also building a team of business experts that will fast track people so we will have web designers we have linked in marketing guys were competence coaches all these kind of people that are trusted and reputable and if you need help in your business you'll know that they're the right people to go for because I have actually tested a. I know them to be good. So I a kind of like a Google were building. So there's a lot to be had in the fourth year but of course you just have to do it as you do it and bring it on when you can bring it on. So that's where I'm heading. I'm heading more about myself becoming a personal brand more back to the person I was before I turned on the microphone where I used to stand up in front of people. So we're going to have as I say the TV when he and I have a YouTube channel we're gonna have all the kind of things that makes it more personable and hopefully allows you guys to connect with us and know that we're we're a team of people that want to help you were a team that is inspired to turn 1 million people across the world into a success story that will you know send ripples across the world. That's what we're aiming for and it's Augusta from a certain point so very short episode today very short episode because hey I'm not here until the next time we will of course be telling you who is the winner of the world's biggest podcast prize ever. I won't once again be doing my Jimmy Saville impression or it's a good one. It's a really good one. But I will see you again later. So thank you so much for being here and oh on the 14th of May 2000 an 18. At eight o'clock in the evening Greenwich Mean Time London time I will be doing a live podcasting masterclass. So if you want to find out more about how I'm doing it behind the scenes you can jump over to podcasters mastery dot com and just book a place and I will be there live in front of you showing you how it's all done and how you can create huge success as well so that's a 14th of May 2008. But until that time we will see you again look after ourselves. Cheers and well thank you.

How to Save Money & Build A Business Teaching Others How To Save Money Too

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with a real story of seeing his life change for the better, by implementing a series of financial life hacks. What is a life hack i hear you cry, and if you’re not crying then you should be? Well our guest is a master at finding ways to save money whilst exploding the enjoyment in his life. As he says “I’m an optimizer and an entrepreneur. I started my latest business to share some of the crazy ways I optimize my money and life to save more, amass countless miles and points and travel the world for free. Last year, I took my passion for optimizing my money + life and started Grove. Our mission is to make financial planning accessible and affordable for everyone. Previously I co-founded Milk, which was acquired by Google in 2012. I spent most of my time at Google as a Partner at GV where I spent my time investing in early-stage startups. I am also founder of LaidOffCamp, an organization I started in 2008 after getting laid off myself. In an effort to help those affected by the financial crisis we hosted dozens of events around the country to help the unemployed learn new skills for the evolving job market. So is this simply another step into the world on minimalism, or something far more practical for the world that like stuff! My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has since a child been working towards where he finds himself today. Today he is a business owner, author, executive coach and podcaster. Over the the last 16 years he has developed his skills as an entrepreneur. The first company he created was a global risk management consulting firm that served the private equity community. His top 15 clients had a combined revenue of $12.7 billion USD and operated in over 100 countries worldwide. Since that time he has bought and sold several multi-million dollar businesses making him a sought after, cross-industrial resource for entrepreneurs and executives in all stages of business. But how did he get here, well this is where the dots have well and truly joined up As he says" As a child I was obsessed with knowing how things worked. I could always be found tearing apart some toy, electronic device or engine to see how it worked. This eventually lead me to studying humans to figure out what makes us tick." First dot ticked off the time line. Then he continues "My Entrepreneurial addiction started at age 13 when I became a caddie. I did not know it then but the countless hours of working as a caddie on the golf course, walking, talking and asking non stop questions of the business elite, would have a profound influence on my career and life long fascination of studying and modeling Peak Performers." So that's the second dot then.... Which leads to where he is today "Trying to find ways to add value to others. Through speaking, teaching, podcasting, and sharing what he has learned with other entrepreneurs and business leaders, to help executives with limited time achieve more. He appears to be a man who has earned his stripes, by taking consistent action in environments that perhaps at the beginning were not in his natural zone of comfort. So is he now where he loves being everyday, or is he still in the "I am working towards where I want to truly be"? And what are the first steps that everyone can take to really start taking control of their own destiny? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Thor Conklin.

How To Get Red Hot Leads To Your Business With Linkedin Marketing

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who from the very beginning seems to scream "I am an entrepreneur....let's have fun" As he says "I'm 26, from the UK and 5 years ago I quit my job to become a digital nomad. Since then, I have travelled across 15 countries whilst simultaneously building 2 success businesses. I built and sold a traditional bricks and mortar business and I have recently started a growth hacking agency which is on track to go from zero to $500,000 ARR within it's first 12 months, with zero investment and I only work 15-20 hours per week. The business is something almost anyone with a laptop can start from home, and I'm happy to share how I have done it. Which is the kind of guest we love on Join Up Dots, so got your pen and paper ready my faithful listeners? Of course this kind of success isn't something that happens overnight, and will of course have many dots that lead to this point. His dots begin when he left the Coventry University with a BA in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, and quickly started his business building by inventing Freshers Survival Kit, a novelty, fun and and unique kit with all the essentials you need to get through freshers week! He then proceeded through several more startups and businesses, leading to where he is today, the owner of Linked Hacker. His company uses LinkedIn to identify people in a businesses target market. They can target almost anyone, from local small business owners to CEOs of billion dollar corporations on the other side of the world, which lead to 10-20 leads per week All on automatic pilot, which is of course the life blood of any business. So where does he see this business going? As one more dots on his road to global domination or as he finally found the thing that will be "The Business"? And what has made the difference to this business, in regards to growth compared to his other ventures? Hit lucky, or simply he knew what his market wanted? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr. Lee Betts Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Lee Betts such as: He shares the reasons why he started his first business with a reason as simple as he wanted to spend more times with his mates. Shane & Joscelyn Are The Experts In How To Make Money Online

My guests today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a couple who quite simply, stopped looked at their life and then made it what they want. And with the greatest respect to both of them, and we will discuss this in the interview they are what you would call normal. A normal couple, with a normal lifestyle, normal kids but an extraordinary way of making decisions and enough of them to make things work the way they want. They are the owners of the Flipped Lifestyle business, where through their own mistakes, successes and consistency they now teach people the route to success in their own business. They teach how to create businesses that work around a family instead of the other way. As they say "In 2012, on a rare day off work, Shane stumbled across a podcast about regular people changing their lives through online business. We started brainstorming about how we could do this too, and started a couple of websites just to see what happened. No one could have prepared us for what happened next. In just a few short months, we were able to make thousands of extra dollars each month through online business. Just one year later, we surpassed the five figure mark in online sales for a single month. When our August 2013 sales surpassed $36,000, we decided it was time to stop working for someone else and start living for our family." And now with sales in excess of one million dollars all earned online, they travel the globe, in their shorts and sneakers, smiling broadly from ear to ear, as there community of wannabe entrepreneurs grows their smiles with them. So looking back on their lives as hard working teachers, do they think that the ability to change a life so dramatically is more down to mindset or talent? And was it really a rocket ship to success they launched, with a doubt that it would fail? Or did they go through the same issues as the rest of us? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Shane & Jocelyn Sams Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Shane & Jocelyn Sams  such as: Why freedom means so much to both Shane and Jocelyn certainly more than money can ever do, which is a surprise to so many people that they meet. Jocelyn shares why both her and Shane decided to become teachers, and how they were actually quite content in their lives, but now see that they had given control of their lives away. Why you don't have to be an expert to sell online products, instead you actually only have to present it to the people on the road behind you. and lastly…. Shane talks about the first 11 cents that he earnt online and how he was so excited he literally jumped out of bed and jumped up and down knowing his life had changed forever.

How To Gain Confidence If We lack Confidence Big Time

Todays episode of Join Up Dots is a solo show, where David Ralph answers a series of questions posed by the lovely listeners of Join Up Dots. Most of the questions in their own way are linked to the issue of confidence: Lack of it, or too much of it, and how it can affect our lives in a positive and negative manner. So lets start with the first question that 100% is based around lack of confidence. Dear David, I have been listening to your show since the early episodes and you seemed so confident from the start, i would love to ask you a question. I am someone who lacks confidence in myself, and so subsequently I hold myself back from opportunities that could really make a difference in my life. Even if they are ones that I would dearly love. Do you think that people are naturally confident, or do you think that its just a case of working on it. If you would allow me a second personal question, what would be the times in your life that you lack confidence, as you sound like you could never feel like I do. And now for the second question........ Hi David, thank you for Join Up Dots and everything you do. I listen to almost all your shows and love the way that you are so engaging. I live in Western Australia and have several times been close to starting a business. The first one was a laundry business for busy folk. I would pick up their laundry and then return it washed, ironed and ready to hangup. The second business, was to be a groundworking business, landscaping gardens, planting, and generally maintenance. My issue is, as soon as I get anything close to a negative comment  from anyone my interest in that business disappears. I'm not sure why I am so bothered by what people think, but I guess I am. Do you have negative comments thrown your way through your show, and how do you deal with them? Thank you so much Brian Siennet, Port Hedland, Western Australia. The last question....... Hello David and the Join Up Dots team. I have since listening to yourself started my own business WHOO HOO and im loving every moment of it. I agree with what you say, a business is finding your customers, discovering what they want and then offering it to them. However, I am using all the social media platforms and I am struggling to get any of those customers you talk about. I would love any advice that you can offer to help me to build profits into your life Nicola, Albany, New York. Of course if you are interested in the answers that we give you have to listen to the show.....

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who is often referred to as the man of many visions. And when you see in bold type on his website "The best way to predict how a man will operate in the future, is see what he did in the past" you know that he is perfect for a show like Join Up Dots His colorful career spans over six decades and includes an array of expertise including designer, marriage and family therapist, hypnotherapist, inventor, marketing executive, mechanical engineer and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, he migrated to California to attend California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) in Pasadena in 1948, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. With his studies completed he set to work, changing the way that life was supposed to be, not least allowing humans to leave Earth and land on over planets. His background includes supervising the mechanical design of the rocket engine for Lunar Excursion Module that landed the first astronauts on the moon. He also designed a hermetically-sealed explosive release mechanism for satellites. If that is not good enough, he turned his attention on the toy market and designed the talking mechanism for the Chatty Cathy Doll, the first ever talking doll, a favorite for children from 1959 – 1965.  And now after leaving his diverse and highly successful career, he shifted his focus to what is now known as True Fortunes. As he says "TrueFortunes is my very first venture with no purpose, no redeeming value and no prospect of remuneration. I’m old enough to have given up saving for my old age, old enough to have more sense but not old enough to stop caring – so let’s have some fun!” So what is his current passion, and why does he now after many many years of high achievement see fun as so important? My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with a personal motto that if you don't understand it as a business owner...then you should. Measure, Motivate, and Manage. He has extensive working knowledge regarding all aspects of operating a successful in-home service business, including (but not limited to) sales and marketing, recruitment, systematising, and human resources. He has helped numerous business owners revitalize their companies and become true business owners, not just operators. And this is the key element to it all....why is it that so many people create a business that actually runs them instead of the other way around? You don't set off on a path that you hope will lead to longer hours, more stress and headache after headache. It's all about walking on beaches, relaxing with friends and living the dream. And today's guest is most certainly living the dream now, but that wasn't always the case. He has been where you are. Working long hours, with his life supporting his business. Unable to step away from the day to day operation for fear of it disappearing in front of him. So how has he managed to switch off the life support system and see the business breath and flourish without him? And are their common issues that people almost have to go through to achieve the success that they want? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Justin Deese. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Justin Deese such as: Why so many people feel that in the early days of their business they can outwork their issues, but this is never the case and ultimately can bring even greater issues. How Justin felt when the business was growing too big for him. Did he have the skills to manage it? Could he handle the extra workload? All 100% imposter syndrome. How he has managed to create a business that is transportable, and is demonstrating that as he drives around America with his family in an RV. Why he wont do anything in his life that he doesn't love. no matter how lucrative it can be for him and his family. and lastly…. Why it is so important to have a vision of what you want in your life, not necessarily just in your business, as soon as you start working on building the dream.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who certainly has had his ups and downs since entering into the startup world to where he is today. And so my friends, that of course makes him a perfect guest for another inspiring, motivational and educational episode of Join Up Dots After graduating with a degree in music, he of course was like so many people who follow an education based career, convinced that an employment in the music industry was beckoning. But little by little he realised that this wasn't going to happen for him, so ended up waiting tables in LA to earn some cash. At the same time one of his flat mates, was doing very well writing code for a company. In fact based on the fact that his mate could roll into work when he wanted and basically in the words of our guest "Never be fired from the company as he had written much of their programming" inspired our guest to start working on his computer skills. He went from waiting tables in LA while pursuing a career in music, to building a development agency, to building several other products and companies, and to ultimately now becoming the CEO of Crew. How he is approaching the opportunities and challenges of taking over the leadership role as CEO of Crew, which is 3 years old, has raised $11 million in funding, has a valuation of $30 million, and is at the forefront of the freelance economy (which is shaping the future of work). So everything looks rosy in the garden for our guest. He looks relaxed, is loving his work, and on his way up. So how did he get himself back on his feet after the disappointment of realising a life in music was unlikely to be happening for him? And when he realised that his development agency was going under, due to choosing the wrong business partners to work with did he think he didn't have it in him to create his own success? What Does It Take To Be A Successful Female Entrepreneur?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who was previously on the show back on episode 251, where we had a very deep conversation around self sabotaging ones careers, even when things are going just as you hoped they would. Back then she told us “I was a freelance writer, for a small Sydney magazine, before I realised a dream to help others create the lifestyle that they truly deserved. I use the word ‘deserved’ with intention. It was one of my first, big spiritual realisations: We are not all living our highest potential, we deserve so much more than we’ve been taught to expect.” That’s a fascinating insight not just to this ladies outlook, but also life itself. Why are we taught from such a small age to be realistic, be practical and leave the dreaming to, well the dreamers. Shouldn’t we be encouraging people to go for the mad stuff, the big stuff, the stuff that real dreams are made off? Challenging them to grow to the highest potential possible? Well since 2006 our guests life has been one intertwined with the all of this and more, and with such personal values such as laugh regularly, think differently, be persistent, be abundant (and give generously) and live what you love, she has clients flocking to her business looking for a similar mind-set to propel them to success. So where did her positive outlook really kick in and allow her to speed forward to success? And why has she rebranded her work from self names to beautifully wild? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, with the one and only Monique Williams. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Monique Williams such as: How Monique now realises that she can now charge premium prices in her business and bring better quality clients into her business. Less customers, less hassle and more money....perfect! Why she now sees that she is more condensed and precise as to what she is offering. She knows her stuff, and knows how to deliver what her clients truly need. Monique recalls how her marketing messages were not congruent with how she truly was, and why it took a client to point out the error of her ways. and lastly…. Why we both believe that ladies should only share one part of themselves when they go out clubbing and what that part should be! Truly deep stuff!

Bucket Lists Are All The Rage, And Danny Dover Is The King

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who was one of the first people ever to join up dots with me on the show. Back on episode 11, we discussed his journey from a position where he was diagnosed as clinically depressed, overweight, with limited motivation, but knowing that he had to do something and do something fast. And at those points in ones life when big changes are needed, so the big questions were needed to be asked. Our guest did that by asking "Why Am I Here? and then started taking action. His professional life began flourishing, his personal life improved, and after creating his own company, publishing his first bestseller “SEO Secrets”, presenting to crowds of interested folk who flocked to hear his message, he knew it was time to reevaluate once more. He increased his focus on self development and happiness, and created his first “Life List” which quite simply he states “Was the best decision he ever made!” Setting himself a target to achieve 150 things by May 25th 2017, he set off on an adventure which is nothing short of inspiring. He lost 60 pounds, ran a marathon, sold/donated all his possessions until only owning less than 100 things, paid off all of his debts, became much more spiritual, visited all 7 continents, reconnected with friends and family and became happier than he had ever been before. And with items such as flying a plan, being on a chat show, seeing Mt Everest, getting a six pack, and living in the wilderness for a month, being just a few items on the list you can see it is a stretch of belief, as much as perseverance. But that is just one side of his story as his professional experience is also a wow too. His expertise as a SEO expert, has been cited in Time Magazine, NPR, NBC, PC World and has been translated into over 10 languages. He has spoken at Yale, the University of Washington and numerous conferences around the world. According to analytics data, his written work has been accessed in almost every country in the world. So where do we start...with the culmination of the bucket list adventure, or how he has gone from a demotivated guy, overweight and lost to a man who seems like he hits a home run every-time he swings. Well let’s just start by bringing onto the show to start joining up dots the one and only Danny Dover. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Danny Dover such as: Danny tells us how he has managed to find the time and money to achieve his life list, and you will discover it is more to do with subtraction and prioritising than anything else. Danny reveals the big wins from completing his Life List (and they certainly what I was expecting) but so valuable to all of us. We discover the big fact of how long it takes to get a six pack, and whether he has managed to cling onto it after achieving that aim. and lastly…. Why we should all consider the power of attempting monthly life-lists of small achievable things occurring locally. Breaking lifes routine can be the quickest way to a life that is a wow!

Property Investing Long Distance Style Is What Makes Our Guest Today Come Alive

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who is working hard at the side hustle, and changing lives across the world. Every entrepreneur experiences that moment when he knows beyond a doubt that he wants something different… something more. For our guest today that moment came one morning as he was getting ready for yet another day at work. He knew what was coming… and he didn’t look forward to the process. Just like the day before, he looked at the clock. It blinked 5 a.m. He’d have to get ready for work only to rush to the airport to board a plane that would take him from one long, grueling meeting after another.  As he raced from one end of the city to the other, fueled only by coffee he’d grabbed on the go, he dared to think… What if I didn’t have to do this 9-to-5 thing any longer? What could my life be then? How would it be to spend more time with my wife and kids? Certainly there was supposed to be more… And so what did he do? Did he simply set the alarm for another 5 a.m start? Well that would be a very short episode if he did, and instead KeePon Cashflow was born. Instead, using the principles he learned first from reading Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad series, he has carved a niche for himself as a real estate entrepreneur. Using systems and strategies unique in the investing world, he now shares what he knows online in videos, podcast interviews and written content that is archived on his website. So when he realised that he wanted more in life, what were the immediate steps he took to achieve his aim? And when did he believe that he truly had something that other people wanted and BOOM the business was truly born? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Billy Keels. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Billy Keels such as: Billy shares how his wife wasn't fully behind him at the beginning, but from viewing his passion first hand is now his biggest allie he could want. Why so many people ask Billy how he has managed to live in Spain and invest in properties in America. Wondering if this is a logical step to take? We discuss the skills and techniques that Billy uses to get a mass of work done in a very short period of time. Skills that all of us can use to huge effect. and lastly…. Why so many businesses struggle to grow a business as they look at every customer as "must have income".....nurture those relationships and you will never go hungry again.

Wanna Have A Travel Business That You Can Take With You Everywhere?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with the founder of Dream Life Deluxe. She's on a mission to help entrepreneurs create lives of freedom and embrace travel as she goes around the world on her second tour. Now we hear the Digital nomad title more and more nowadays, where people create a totally transportable business and live a life of adventure and value everyday. Well todays guest has moved over fifty times in the last year and in the process has created a six figure business while doing it. She's been featured in Thrive Global, As Told by Nomads, Transform via Travel, 12 minute convos and more. Now how did this all start? When did she realise that it was time to pack a suitcase, ensure she had enough clean knickers for more than two weeks travel and set out to see the world? Well it could be described that she had a Eat, Pray, Love moment (which being a man means nothing to me, but I'm sure will do to the listeners across the world). when she ended her relationship, put in her resignation at work, and booked a $300 ticket to Africa with no plan and nothing more than a desire for travel. You see as she says "For ten years I was spending long hours as a media planner working for someone else’s dream. I earned good money, but I didn’t have any time to enjoy it. My desk was filled with brochures on how to work overseas and travel, and I secretly looked at them whenever I could find a break at work. I wanted to leave my job and travel the world, but when everyone tells you your dreams are “impossible” or “unreasonable” or “stupid,” you start to believe them. Then one day a coworker quit to travel to Nicaragua for 6 months! And I thought, “Hang on, that’s MY dream! I’ve been thinking about this for 10 years. How can others simply DO this??” After lots of sleepless nights, she decided to quit her day job in Germany and create an unconventional life for herself. Living off her savings at first, she traveled around and worked in animal refuges and shelters and landed in Sydney where she worked for the Sydney zoo for a year, during which time she started her business and met her partner, who now travels with her! So was it just that one conversation that kicked started her activity, or actually it didn't matter what happened it was just time and she knew it? And how do others do the same? Is it harder than she expected or simply like a walk in the park? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Susi Kaeufer. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Susi Kaeufer such as: Why Susi feels the need to move every two weeks, even though she had stayed in one spot for a decade. Susi recalls how she listened to the words of others who didn't believe it was possible and bought into this "wrong advice" before seeing a different way. Why it is so powerful to build a business around what your clients are telling you that they want from you, not simply guessing. and lastly…. How she learnt to relax and allow the content to flow from her, instead of sitting at her pc and thinking "I must write valuable content,...what is valuable content"???

Leadership Expert Shares How Sometimes You Need To Fail To Learn How To lead

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an interesting tale of how he got to where he is today, By the age of 35, he had been both director at a start-up and president of a multi-million dollar sales organization. Despite his reading, the teaching, and different roles he wasn’t a good leader. None of his teams came close to reaching their potential. In frustration he gave up on management and became a consultant. Then things changed for him, and he realised that actually leadership was the key to his future, he had just gone about it the wrong way. Real leadership began when a client asked him to build a team of analysts. He started by hiring good people. And keeping an unrelenting focus on learning and improvement within 2 years the team was the envy of the organization. Eventually, he realized he hadn’t taught people how to be a good team. The team had taught him how to lead. He took his hard-won knowledge and went back into consulting, rescuing high-impact projects. In every instance there were at least two problems — and one of them was always teamwork. Have you noticed the world is more connected, complex, chaotic, and faster than ever before? It feels like these forces are trying to rip your business and your life apart. He now speaks to organizations about the need for responsive leaders and adaptive teams. More, he lays out the steps it takes for leaders to get teams from Meh to High-Performance! So when did the penny start to drop and he realised that he was going about it the wrong way? And what stopped him thinking “I can’t go backwards, what will people think of me”? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jeffrey Davidson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jeffrey Davidson such as: Why every business says that they are unique and in fact they are all basically the same, with the same issues. Why every employee can find an area of improvement in their business that can show the world that they can consult elsewhere. How meetings and building connections are the corner stone of Jeffreys work, and should be yours too. and lastly…. Jeffrey shares the steps that it takes to become the better version of yourself, whether within the company or outside on your own.

And now trains entrepreneurs who don’t realize they’re the VP of Sales and also individual sales people how to 10 X their revenues in a step-by-step sales formula . He did four four months only, before then joining Uncle Sam in the US Marine Corp where he provided visual information support, by way of photos, videos, and graphics, to enhance the combat readiness and training support needs of the Marines. How Do You Spin Farming Today Into A Multi-Million Dollar Business?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who has created something very different to every other guest we have had on the show before. From a farm in Canada, she has created a multi million dollar brand stopping men and boy from stinking. Yep, I kid you not…80% of her marketing plan is based around the hygiene habits of the male population…which we will get into on the show. But most impressively for me is how before we even talk she has joined up her dots to where she is today. So ready to have a quick run through of the dots? Well here we go. At 10, my father crushed my dreams of one day becoming a writer and pilot. At 12, we fled from Canada to Florida when my father was arrested for organized crime. At 16, my brother was killed by a drunk driver. At 17, I joined the US Coast Guard to chase druggies. (Like my father.) At 18, my father went to maximum security prison. (He got off the first time.) At 21, I was kicked out of the Coast Guard because I was Canadian. At 22, I married a Special Forces Green Beret (trained killer). At 35, I left my husband (who was abusive), penniless with no resume, 2 daughters and a dog. At 35, I took a job selling cars. At 37, I began to study the art of screenwriting to save me from the mind-numbing boredom of selling cars. At 37, I won an international film festival, and went on to write another award-winning script. Earned no money, however. At 43, I quit my $130,000 yr job working for a tyrant and took nine months off to sit in the woods by a river and think about life. At 45, I met the love of my life. (The Brit, of course.) At 46, I earned my pilot’s license and fly a float plane in the Canadian bush. At 49, I started a bath and beauty gift company which has become a multi-million dollar brand. And that is the perfect place to start todays story. How do you live a life like that and end up creating a company from a rural farm, that ends up being pitched on Dragons Dens? And when did she realise that this was what she had been building up to throughout her life? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Leslie Bradford-Scott Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Leslie Bradford-Scott such as: How you can find a gap in a saturated market and position yourself where people will see you. How the offline way of marketing can be equally as powerful as doing things online. Get out from behind the PC and make real connections. The reasons why she made an appearance on Dragons Den, and what it did for her business. and lastly…. How she uses near to the mark humour on her products, which works so well with her perfect avatar.

Wellness Coaching Starts From Within As Ed Pike Shares In Todays Episode

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazing story of finding his thing, starting from a point that would have seemed the end just a decade or so before. Starting his professional journey after leaving the University of Bath, with a degree in International Management and Spanish, he first steps seem almost usual. He gained his qualification and then started working for a huge organisation, in this case The Hilton, where he worked on their online presence, increasing sales by over 100% Then, it seems to me the first dot appeared and he started focusing in on other peoples development, this time in the health industry as a Personal Trainer for LA Fitness. Did this spark the fires of his later entrepreneurial ventures, who knows. but one thing for sure the mind and body vibe started to become more and more evident. Leading to him in 2013 starting his own Life & Health Mentor Programme, run from his home base in Crete, and performed over skype and in person across the world. As he says "I’ve experienced loneliness, pain and destructiveness - in fact I still do at times. I'm far from perfect: I’ve tried to deny my negativity, shame, fear and anger, but have learnt that true strength and power lie in deep vulnerability.  After my diagnosis with HIV in 2009, I even felt life closing in on me. But, through all of the pain, I stayed true to my inner voice. And so I pulled through, faced my demons and aligned with the authentic and creative spirit within - and rediscovered the magical adventure that is life! And that is what he brings to the world, the ability to understand that its the dark times, that make the light seem brighter than ever. Its the hardships that give us the coping skills to build a future better than we could ever hope for? So when he was diagnosed with HIV, did he think it was a life sentence that he had been given, or just something else to add to his story? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Ed Pike Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ed Pike such as: Ed shares how feelings are such a powerful way of directing your future to where it was born to be. Be quiet and get directed by whats inside of you. How we all have a calling to adventure, and why sometimes we need a jolt from the blue to really make us take notice. Ed shares how he landed his first clients, and the work he took to get his business off the ground, through word of mouth referrals. and lastly…. Why the barter system of the exchange of services is such an amazing way to begin a business. Its not always about the money.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazingly unusual road to where he is today. Not least, as I discovered that his first job was a gravedigger at a Pet Cemetery, digging graves for Fido and Felix, and many other beloved pets who had used up their extended lifelines. But certainly his career might have seen dead and buried, but in fact it was just one of the big dots that has lead him to where he is today. Digging around the internet, spying on the competition and bringing the five steps of lead generation to life for his clients As the founder of Digital Agency School and the CEO of the marketing agency GoBeyond SEO, he believes that there are five stages that all businesses need if they want to floruish in their markets 1. Identify your ideal client 2. Research what works in your market (i.e. “spy” on your competition) 3. Craft a converting message and foot in the door offer 4. Build a funnel you can leverage 5. Analyze the data and optimize And this systems appears to be working wonders, as even though he started his agency with no experience, no marketing education or any connections in the industry he is certainly rocking and rolling. Now he wants to help other marketers launch their own agencies so they can build their ideal career & lifestyle and I suppose legacy. And isn't that what life is all about, helping as many people as you can to get their dream, and in the process getting your own one as a result. So how did he start something if he had no experience in it, and still make it a success? And does he look back at the time when he used to read the newspaper over the radio to blind people as useful in anyway to where he is now? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brian Saemann Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brian Saemann such as: Why the skill of anti-selling is such a powerful concept in business...and what is that? Quite simply the more that we tell someone that they can't have it the more they will want it. Brian tells how he had to work two jobs for a year and a half until he had the money and structure to start his new business (even after being pushed by his wife) Why Brian feels that all businesses, especially in the beginning should thrive on old school marketing techniques as these are so much easier to understand and will make money quicker. and lastly…. Brian shares the mistakes he has made both financially and timewise, which although disappointing, have led him to where he is today.

I have been thinking a lot recently about what makes something truly motivational and inspires us to do amazing things in our life. When other things just leave us flat, and feeling i guess....anything close to motivational. It's a strange thing to think about as you don't do you, you just to let yourself get carried a long by the motivation without ever considering why. Well it's my view that true motivation comes from within, and the feeling of seeing something motivational and exclaiming "That is amazingly motivational" means one thing. The images, or stimuli actually come to us, due to it tapping into something that makes us who we are. Our core strengths. Recently, the movie The Greatest Showman, has been going gangbusters across the world. Which is where the story of PT Barnum the American Showman is brought to life by Australian actor Hugh Jackman. In the film the struggling entrepreneur is unable to find his thing in life before deciding and going after the thing that lit him up inside. He was excited by his vision. He was inspired by the opportunities that he could see would come his way.  He had found something that would play to his key strengths and so was motivational to him. So do you know what your key strengths are in life? Do you know where you are heading? Do you know why something's knocks you off your feet and makes you feel amazing, whilst other quite simply leave you feeling flat? If you haven't, then you are holding yourself back to a future that is stimulating and exciting everyday of the week. And that is pure motivation.....the kind of power that is already in you.

And every now and again you see something on a website or about page that you think "Yeah that is spot on in every-way" Well today's guest had a line about how she operated in her business at the beginning which said "I pretended to have my shit together in a life-coach imposter kind of way" Wow, let's think about this. How To Become A Success Coach And Change Peoples Lives

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who believes that the work life balance is something we should go after. After over 40 years of owning and operating his own businesses, he is keenly aware of the challenges facing small business owners. In his 40 years of diverse experience in business, he founded a commodity trading company, a real estate brokerage and assembled investment groups that raised millions of dollars to buy minor league baseball and basketball franchises. Much like other entrepreneurs and business owners, he has lost sleep over meeting/missing payroll, struggled to repair a (self-inflicted) damaged culture, and experienced the extreme highs and lows that come with the territory. And through the hardship and the ups and downs he found a better way of operating, and things are very different today. Now he is a business coach and expert in corporate culture and strategy and through his coaching practice, The Accountability Factor, he helps businesses increase revenue and productivity, and manage relationships and collaborations while living harmonious lives. He also leads MasterCoach Forum, a mastermind for elite coaches committed to accountability, collaboration, community, and business growth. So how did he find his place after such a diverse career? And are there commonalities that he has developed throughout that has led him to the right place? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Tom Rubens. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Tom Rubens such as: Tom shares how he feels that the middle classes in America are being lost, and instead being replaced by the have’s and have’s not. Tom reveals how he took steps to self-sabotage his business, even though it was the greatest thing ins his life at that time. We reveal how the true path to someones future is always with us. We dont have to go far, we just have to start within our heart. and lastly…. We discuss how the world of business can operate in a state of harmony, as long as you go actively looking for that harmony.

Remote Working Is All The Rage...But Does It Really Work?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the Co founder and CEO of SimpleTiger, a boutique digital marketing agency that specializes in SEO for entrepreneurs. For 11 years, he has helped companies like Segment.com, Shopify, NBC, MTV, E*Trade, LG, and Sports Illustrated see significant gains in their search results, organic traffic, and revenue. During his time growing SimpleTiger, he has seen firsthand how clients have been unnecessarily burned by other agencies in the past or confused by misleading SEO strategies. He believes that The SEO industry is plagued with a lot of smoke and mirrors, black hat techniques, and a lack of transparency. Jeremiah’s mission is to open up about what many other SEO marketers and agencies won’t share-the practices and frameworks that actually work. Why share this? Because transparency is much needed in an industry where sharing is typically frowned upon. But at his core, he is a maverick.  As he says "I'm an entrepreneur attracted to rogue thinkers who go against the status quo. I like businesses that run lean, effective operations and drive high results and low hype. I like 37Signals, The 4 Hour Work Week, PR 20/20 and folks like them who go against the grain of their respective industries and wind up making something awesome. I never fit in during school and the corporate rat race wasn't a good fit for me either. I've found my place among other rogues as an entrepreneur and I couldn't feel more blessed to be where I am now." So what is it about pltting his own course that excites him most? And is SEO still something alive and kicking or are we in the world of video and audio now? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jeremiah Smith Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jeremiah Smith  such as: Why SEO at its core is a revers engineer of a search engine. What do the engines want? Lets go and give it to them. Jeremiah shares how he increased the profits of a business by two million dollars, and was blown away that this was purely down to his SEO strategies. We discuss the power of allowing staff to follow the remote working practice and  and lastly…. Jeremiah shares how we always wanted the freedom and controls to manage his own life...which meant the entrepreneurial life was

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who you might mistake for Superwoman and if you do, you won’t be alone. She is regularly featured on television news segments, inside major blogs and publications, and on podcasts from all over the globe. She’s an accomplished Success Coach, Speaker, host of the Maximize Your Strengths podcast, as well as published Author of the hot new book; From Frustrated to Frickin’ Awesome: 4 Steps to Achieve the Success You’re Wired For. But more than anything else she’s an exceedingly proud wife and mother of two, who loves helping others discover how to make their businesses and relationships thrive in harmony. But this was as far from her starting point as you can possibly imagine. Graduating from St Catherine University with a post baccalaureate certificate in Nursing, she entered into the medical profession as a Clinical Dietitian and Registered Nurse before a four year stint as a beauty consultant for Mary Kay So from my viewpoint, she has always had a nurturing side to her character, wanting people to look and feel as good as they can right from the outset. And so you can see that where she is now, is as far away as she could be, but also very similar in concept, she has found a way to maximise her strengths, provide more value to the world and enjoy herself in the process. As she says “While I’ve always been interested in self-development, in the last 9 years, I dove into investment in my training, self-improvement, and coaching. In addition to classroom style learning, I’ve gained valuable knowledge from seminars, home-coaching programs, group-coaching programs, one-on-one coaching relationships, books, self-study, and real-life successes and failures. My clients benefit from all of that education and experience wrapped into one business coach!” So people you find what you want to do naturally, your unique strength, up-skill yourself and then solve the problems of others in that area. Seems simple doesn’t it? So if this is the blueprint for success, why do so many people struggle with finding their way through the pain and scarcity to make a success of their lives? And when was the moment when she sat bolt upright in bed and screamed “Erueeerka I know what I should be doing in my life!!” Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Alissa Daire Nelson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Alissa Daire Nelson such as: Why getting to know yourself is so vitally important if you ever want to be the greatest version of yourself that you can possibly be. Why Alissa feels that there is always another devil in another level and it doesnt matter where you are on the jounrey there are scary times ahead. Why masterminds are so uber powerful and an extremely cost effective way to keep you on track and focused on the right results. and lastly…. Why stability in ones life is so familiar and comfortable, and why all entrepreneurs have moments of thinking “Wouldn’t it be easier just to get a job?”

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is Startup Expert Warren Hogarth, who shares his tips for startup mastery

He is passionate about the way we think and manage our money. In 2016 he launched Empower Finance based on the belief that all people deserve access to expert financial advice (and it should be available for free). Instead of going to some dusty old office, with an old guy in a grey suit telling you to stick everything in bonds or shares, you deal directly with your own financial advisor working for you 24 hours a day. As he says “We were fed up with banks and traditional “advisors” so we built Empower to be your independent, trusted financial advocate. Empower helps you stay on top of your finances, get objective, personalized recommendations to make your money go further, and discover and save hundreds of dollars per year. Check account balances & track your spending, Automatically save to build wealth or pay down credit debt, Find a high-interest savings account, Manage bills and renegotiate to save (utilities, mobile, security), Review subscriptions you’re paying for and many more things too! Now you maybe saying “Why is it free?” and isn’t that the quickest way for a company to go bust with all our financial information? Well for most people that might be the case, but today’s guest has helped 3 companies go from $0 to $1 billion, and he’s seen other companies go to $0 (after looking promising initially). Growing up in rural Australia, he studied engineering, and ended up as 1 of 8 Venture Partners at Sequoia. They’ve invested in companies like Square, Uber, WhatsApp, and AirBnB, and he stood shoulder to shoulder with founders to build large, enduring businesses (3 went from zero to over $1 billion). As he says “There’s no guarantees in startups, but I have a lot of lessons learned on how to approach starting and growing a company” which I am bringing into Empower Finance everyday. So when did the idea to go it alone come to him? Was it overnight or bubbling under the surface for many years? And what is the biggest failing that people make when undertaking a startup? Lack of capital of lack of commitment? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Warren Hogarth Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Warren Hogarth such as: Warren shares the number one reason for a startup to fail, and you might be interested that it is rarely down to capital. Why a company is generally always going to go through a pivot to find it’s true life calling. Not many companies get it right the first time. Warren shares that moment where he knew that he was on the wrong path, and the steps he took to get onto the right one. and lastly…. Why it is so important to start a business in a market where there are great tailwinds now and the next ten years. Baseball Genius Jesse Cole, Shows How He Is Changing Baseball Forever

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is bold, crazy, inspired, committed and having the time of his life. He is the owner of two baseball teams that are quite frankly doing things a bit differently, and the world is taking note – Big Time He is the founder of Fans First Entertainment, which operates the Gastonia Grizzlies and the Savannah Bananas, and also a keynote speaker, and host of the Business Done Differently Podcast. Which is a boring way of telling you what he does, to be honest. He has taken a countries passion for baseball and turned it on its head, by creating an experience not just about what is happening (or is not happening on the pitch) but what is happening everywhere. He joined the industry in 2008 as General Manager of the Gastonia Grizzlies. It was here that he started providing a circus-like atmosphere at his ballparks. From dancing players, Grandma Beauty Pageants, and Flatulence Fun Nights to porta-john giveaways and garbage can nachos, he has tried it all The “show” worked and the Grizzlies began breaking attendance records annually. In 2014, he bought the Grizzlies and started Fans First Entertainment with his then-fiancé and Grizzlies Director of Fun, Emily. In 2015, the two of them then started a new Coastal Plain League team in Savannah, GA. It was announced on February 25, 2016 that the team would be named the Savannah Bananas. From there, the team quickly became a hit all over the country, in part thanks to coverage from national media outlets, including ESPN, CNN, and Good Morning America. Merchandise sold to all 50 states and 6 countries. In the first year, the team sold out 18 of 25 games and broke the attendance record for both Grayson Stadium and the Coastal Plain League. To top it off, the Bananas won the Coastal Plain League Championship. As he says he “I am just getting started”. His teams are continually reinventing as they look to change the baseball industry and the entertainment experience for fans. So how has he managed to stand firm against a world of conformity and create something new and exciting? And did he ever have the huge doubts that a new way should not be his way in future? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jesse Cole Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jesse Cole such as: How he managed to break down not only the barriers around him but also the barriers in his own mind, which allowed him to do the unthinkable What he did to grow his team, and find the right people that bought in his vision of where he wanted to head. Why Jesse can see clearly that although the timing wasnt perfect when he joined the Grizzlies, in fact it was in fact the perfect time. The truth that anyone who starts something can see. and lastly…. Why he connected with Barack Obama and offered an internship at the Baseball ground, much to the amusement of himself and his team.

Video Is Such A Power Way To Convert Viewers Into Customers - We Discuss How To Become One The Worlds Best Video Creators

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who is fascinated with video and the power of adding this to your marketing strategies As he says "There’s a ton of noise on the internet. Love it or hate it, the worst thing you can do is never be a part of it. I don’t know about you, but I love cartoons. I’ve always been an animation nerd. When I started RK we never knew online video would get SO big - but it’s exceeded even our expectations. I help businesses connect with their prospects and grow conversions with the help of strategic animation video marketing so that the prospects convert into raving fans and buy from you even if they haven't heard of you before. A magnetic video hits all the pain points of our target audience while visually engaging them, which helps our clients increase their conversions beyond 20% (industry average). They do this they implement Behavioural Lead Journey, which means they create and place animation videos along the entire marketing funnels. Converting cold prospects into raving fans while solidifying the bond with existing customers. But of course this is just part of his journey as before he took the lead and started creating his own future, our guest worked for Daimler, the car manufacturer in their finance division. So how did he go from working for Daimler o creating his own business that is rocking and rolling? And where did he find the problems waiting for him, as he grew his empire. On every corner, or simply never appearing? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start Joining Up Dots with the one and only Rohan Kale. Hustle and the early startup are reviewed in todays show

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has worked so hard to where he is today, he has more lessons learned before the age of 30 than most people aged…well 30. He is proof that hard-work and determination pay off’s as he climbed the ladder of the restaurant industry as many do: with a great deal of empathy, a little bit of luck, and a massive amount of overconfidence. After graduating from Harvard in 2009, he worked his way up from being a busboy in Boston to being a beverage director for Momofuku in New York City, where he managed the buying, pricing, and selling of wine, beer, and spirits for the restaurant. Through living through this experience, he decided that he wanted to have more ownership of the guest experiences he was creating, so he took to Chicago to see how Booth could help him open his own restaurant. While attending Booth, our guest met his business partner, Hunter Swartz, and the two quickly realized that their shared background in endurance sports mixed with complementary work experiences could build something remarkable. He then joined the Eastman Egg team in January 2014 and served as COO for three years where in his time there, the company grew to four operating units and grew its revenues and team each by a factor of 10. And now he is also the author of the latest book to fly off the shelves with “What I Learned Before 30 – a biographical look that captures some of the best, and worst, moments of his life. As it says in the intro “I feel like i’ve finally learned that growing up to have different perspective than my parents was not a failure; it was the whole point. I cant wait to use the next 30 years to celebrate what makes us different, rather than resent it, and enjoy what a diverse, unique and wonderful family we are” So, said in another way, he has found the path in life that is the right one for him, and although others may not understand it makes no difference. And that is where we should all be, walking boldly into our own future and not one that has been constructed by the idealism of anyone else. So will there be a what I learned before sixty book coming up, and does he feel that mistakes are the true gift in life? And what does he enjoy doing most in his life, as he certainly has many things per day that could take up his time? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Drew Davis.

Welcome to today's episode of the Join Up Dots, where we look at the real secrets to success as demonstrated  by real life listeners of Join Up Dots coaching programme. Through the show we are going to bring you the big learnings that our listeners revealed they have learnt through the last four years. And why did we ask that question? Well on the 19th February 2018 it was four years since the first stages of Join Up Dots occured. That was the day when I sat and bought the URL for Join Up Dots and the show started. Mike Buckerfield Obsession with all the wrong things. Generally negative attitude. Combining those two in order to procrastinate and slow progress. Still haven’t mastered these issues yet but I am improving. Big week for us ahead and I expect to make real strides in next few weeks. Happy Birthday Join Up Dots. I was exposed to severe trauma that lasted several months where there was little to nothing I could do about the source of trauma and this resulted in PTSD symptoms and a lot of weight gain. I'm thankful that I survived the harm inflicted and am working at resolving the weight issue. Eugene Sarigumba Spending too much time learning to build a website. Should have hired someone sooner. Allowing myself to get too comfortable and forgetting my dream. Thanks for all the great podcasts David!! Steve Reza Looking back the past 4 years, I would have focused more on who I am rather than who I thought I should be. I’m realizing that I am an entrepreneur and that’s why I see things differently than most people I come into contact with. But most people in my world just want the typical things —climb the corporate ladder, then settle down into a comfortable retirement —-BORING! I want to “fly.” Anett Gobolos Happpyyy Bday, JUD!!! Actually it is indeed life changing for me as well.. I always new I wanted stg different from the regular full-time corporate jobs but I didn’t see clearly the other path. It was so unknown and scary. I’m not this lonely warrior and I have been looking for such a community for a while. Beth Dickens Happy birthday Join up dots!! I think for me David, I find it hard to know what I’d of done differently. I feel like it’s all happened for a reason which is why I’m where I am today! I somewhat wish I hadn’t took my teacher training and wasted a year of my life becoming a teacher when that is not what I wanted to do (my parents are both teachers) and I fell into the easy copy your parents trap. But I wouldn’t have travelled to Kuwait and lived there or met my boyfriend who I now live in Boston with. It all happens for a reason! I regret nothing Karen Dimmick Happy birthday JUD! It's a tough question because if I hadn't done what I'd done in the past, I wouldn't have learned what I did.... given that though, I wish I'd narrowed my target market and started writing books for them earlier than I did. Benjamin Lively Happy birthday, Join Up Dots! During the past four years, I’ve spent my mental state trying to accomplish greater positions and pay in the corporate world, believing that I as the way to climb to the top but have been miserable just about everyday. Looking back, I should have (and now do) realized that I have a lot more to offer the world than I’m providing to the individual companies I’m working for. I have been boxing myself in thinking, this is as good as it gets. In all actually, it doesn’t get any worse! Once I realized that the reason these companies pay me a great salary was because they could use me to 20x their revenue and allow me to continue working for THEIR dream. Now, I realize there is no glass ceiling and that what I can do for them, I can certainly do for many, many others. I’ll be much happier and free and a lot more financially independent than ever before. I’ve realized that I have only been using ~40% of my total potential. Time to kick life in the balls and go after all my dreams. Fran Johnson McKay Happy birthday JUD. Thank you David for daring to start! What would I change? I’d trust the dots are leading me where I need to go. It’s not a straight line and it doesn’t always make sense but there is purpose for each one. I also wish I’d focused more on living in the present and on my family. It’s hard to get the balance right. I have a high achievement drive and it’s important that I keep it in check. Big Dreams and Big Family (I have a husband, 5 kids - only 1 still at home, 1 foster daughter, and 2 grand babies) so it’s not easy for me to balance. I’m getting better though and working less hours. Thanks again David! Gemma Louise Coleman Happy bday JUD!  For me, I would have used my maternity leave more effectively and spent the time getting to know my real passions and what motivates me so i could create a business instead of going back to the daily grind & into another corporate role. I’ve been back at work for 12 months now and although my plan is to leave this year it’s much harder to get out of the ‘a regular job is safe & secure’ mindset whilst I’m there. I’m working hard on that though and plan to be out of there by July! Erica Mandy Showing The World How To Be Truly News Worthy

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who started on a career path that the world would say was sexy, and then deciding it wasn't for her and going a totally different direction. Leaving the Indiana University Bloomington, and the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in Journalism, our guest spent the last decade -- on TV, radio and online -- reporting news and sharing stories around the country. First working for Newsy, an over-the-top news network that provides "news with the why," built to inform and engage by delivering today's top stories across platforms. Its content is available in on-demand and to Los Angeles CBS News, where she would report national and local news for the second largest news market in the country.  As a TV news reporter, she was live on the scene during terrorist attacks, wildfires and federal court rulings, to name a few. She's interviewed politicians, CEOs, experts, and everyday people doing extraordinary things and it seemed that she was loving every second. So what was going on internally to make her quit her job as a Los Angeles TV news reporter to launch theNewsWorthy: a daily roundup of politics, tech, business and entertainment Which she says "Makes it faster, easier and way more fun to get all the news you need to know. Listen on-the-go in less than 10 minutes, Monday through Friday." Is this an inspired move into a world that consumes information when and where they want it? Or has she taken on a world that is already dealing with tsunami of information and now zoning out? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Erica Mandy Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Erica Mandy such as: Erica shares how all her hard work and experience over the last decade has left her with the skills to progress to where she wants to be. No experience is ever wasted no matter what you may think at the time. We discuss that moment in your life when you realise that your business is actually a nuisance and there are things you just have to do away from work. Erica reveals that she has given herself a year to see what she can make of her new venture, safe in the knowledge that she can always get a job if needed. We dont have to end in despair, but we do need something to give us the courage to move forward with. and lastly…. Why Donald Trump's fake news is such big news at the moment, and how the world feels about such reporting.

Can Business Success Occur Without Niching Down?

Does Being In A Niche Really Matter, Do?

Well todays guest on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is a former legal professional, who left the legal world 6 years ago to pursue her dream of starting her own business. And it seems to me that the services she provides are as varied as they could possible be, so who is she targeting?

As she says “If you would have dared to tell me 10 years ago that after attending Law School, I was not going to practice law, I would have laughed you out of the room! However, in my late 20s I had experienced a reawakening that opened my eyes to the startling reality that people all around me (myself included) were yearning for something more. This was a truth that resonated with me so deeply that I could not turn away from it. I took a deep breath and turned the light of truth on myself. I realized that I wanted more money, freedom, direction. I wanted to know that I was making an impact in peoples lives. Ultimately, I wanted to be SUCCESSFUL, and I wanted to help others be successful too.” And now with retreats, coaching sessions, and more and more people finding financial and emotional success, it certainly seems that she has found the business that is right for her. So why did she go to law school, when it seems evident that the right business is now, and not what she was focused on as a young lady? And is there a major mistake that she sees the world making, as they leave education and step into a world that is under their control? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Awilda Rivera. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Awilda Rivera such as: Why happiness will always be fleeting if we attach happiness to external influences. Happiness always comes from within and nowhere else. Awilda talks openly about the hardship that it takes to grow a business, but why the struggle is so important. Awilda shares how she has diversified into several different areas, and the reason why she has done that. and lastly…. Todd Herman left an impression on Awilda that really stuck home “Busy doesn’t mean productive”. If you can get things off your plate by hiring someone, then do it.

How Do create A Business By Selling On Amazon?

Well The Amazon Selling King Shows How

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who without a doubt can call himself a serial entrepreneur. He has built several multi-million dollar companies in both Australia and the United States, and really doesn’t look like he is slowing down in the regard to creating his own destiny. In 2005 he co-founded one of the first crowdfunding platforms in the world which went on to raise in excess of $100M dollars for start-ups and early stage businesses. He currently owns a cloud software business, an Amazon review company (based in Florida), a home-wares company that sells its products exclusively through Amazon into 8 countries, and Reliable Education. None of his companies have outside investors and all are profitable. But what is super interesting to me is how he has created businesses in environments that we all hang around in, and almost take for granted. Such as in 2012, he learned about the opportunity to sell on Amazon through a friend. Now like all of us, he was used to seeing Amazon boxes all over town and he was a big user of Amazon himself. But it wasn’t until he took a course that he learned that anybody could sell on Amazon, and that Amazon would handle all of the warehousing and shipping for him. Once he understood that, he soon launched his own brand which now sells in 8 Amazon marketplaces around the world. So how does he see these things, when so many people will just walk past them time and time again and never think “Wow what an opportunity!”? And does he feel that anyone can do these kind of things, or to become a serial entrepreneur, do you require special talents and skills that are god given at birth? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Adam Hudson.

In todays episode we answer a few questions from listeners of the show. These are the shows that we simply adore doing, as it shows us that people are starting to take notice and realise that they can create their own lives. And that is of course the theme behind everyone of our shows. Well in todays we show, we discuss affiliate marketing and how to get into a state of flow. You know that state of being when you lose track of time, and find that whatever you do comes out brilliantly? The state that is just amazing and makes us feel like we are no longer attached to this world? Well, Bruce Fortenberry from Georgia Atlanta asked us our views about how we manage to get into that mental condition so we decided we would answer live on the show. But before that lets start with a question from a lovely lady called Bree Nicole who asked us: Hello! I just listened to your podcast on extra money and your Florida keys website and got super inspired! I’ll be living on the road in the US and want to design a site. Can you give me a little more information on affiliate marketing? How does it work with restaurants, attractions, museums and all that? Do I contact them directly? What should I start with when getting these things and places on my site to make money? Thank you! Any tips would be great! So that is what we talk about on the show. How to make money by directing traffic across to affiliate links to make some cash whilst we sleep and then we answer another question or at least give our point our view on. This was from Bruce who we mentioned earlier Hello there, I wanted to thank you for your podcast. I recently discovered your podcast and it’s extremely motivating. Your very perceptive and it’s eye opening at times. Makes me want to discuss my ideas with you. I’m starting a service Plumbing business in Atlanta, Ga. Calling it “Plumb Ready.” Right now it’s a side hustle. I’ll do residential plumbing repairs / Plumbing Inspections with strong emphasis on educating customer about how to protect their home. I have a great idea for you. If I were you I’d do podcast about the “Flow State” Just a thought. Your show isn’t arrogant or fake. It’s connecting people in an amazing way. Thanks again !! During the show we mentioned the affiliate programme that we offer through the Join Up Dots podcast. If you are interested in this amazing resource or to start podcasting yourself:

Brain Training Starts And Stops With Dana Wilde The Brain Train Expert

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who came into my life like a shot of drug laced expresso and is the kind of person we all need everyday. She is hugely positive, 100% focused on her audience and quite simply carrying around the biggest smile you will ever see in your life. She is a brain trainer, speaker, host, and the bestselling author of Train Your Brain, and with nearly 100,000 followers in 68 countries, she is the go to expert at training brains and changing lives. Now you might be wondering, how do you train a brain? Well when our guest began her direct-sales business, she realized that education for entrepreneurs typically consisted of endless “how-to” explanations: how to market, how to pick up the phone, how to manage your time, how to increase bookings or sales. There always seemed to be a new system to learn, a new surefire method or cutting-edge technique for entrepreneurs to master. In an effort to teach her team members a better and easier way, she instead went a different route and created Train Your Brain, a tested and proven system combining elements of both mindset and action . . . or as she likes to call it, Intentional Action. Using the skills of Train Your Brain you will find that mindset can be “taught” and that learning simple mindset strategies not only allows you to understand how the brain works but also shows you how easy it is to change your thinking and, as a result, change your outcomes. Train Your Brain, with its twenty easy-to-implement “Mindware Experiments,” gives you all the necessary tools needed to get off . . . and stay off . . . the Cycle of Perpetual Sameness, so you can transform your life and grow your business in record time! And believe me I know her quite well, and it is amazing how much she does, how much she achieves and how she remains smiling even when things go a bit off track. When she’s not unraveling the mysteries of the brain, Dana is passionate about helping animals, playing baritone ukulele, practicing Kundalini yoga, and creating raw food dishes. And is a raw food wannabe who can’t shake nachos. So is it as simple as saying, “If we always do what we have always done, then we will always get what we have always got”? And with so much “take Action” advice in the world today, are there any bits that she would grasp to her chest and say “Actually this one is a keeper?” Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Dana Wilde. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Dana Wilde such as: Why she believes that we shouldn’t follow the advice of others who state “Go after the fear” We discuss how the technicalities of building an online business should not stop anyone from getting going. There are tools for everything. Dana reveals why mindset is so powerful and how we can all train ourselves to use this astonishing gift. Dana shares the four step process to retraining your brain starting today. Hugely powerful stuff.

Marketing Tips - How Do You Build A Successful Marketing Campaign

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a guy who first appeared on Join Up Dots way back on episode 107 Back then we spoke about his fascinating journey to where he is today known as The Millionaire Marketing Mentor®, the go-to guy for coaches, consultants, and other successful service professionals who want to attract more clients, convert more high-value sales, build an authority brand, and grow a lifestyle business that makes a bigger impact while generating more income. But life could have been very different, as starting his life in Poland, it was fair to say that he has come a long way since then, both Geographically and financially. Arriving in the United States of America with just $194.00 dollars in his pocket and a sprinkling of English, he set to work with a passion. The entrepreneurial bug has always been a keen element which makes him who he is, so it was with little surprise, but a lot of hard work that he transformed his finances by creating a series of business opportunities around California. First of all he co-owned a collection of bagel shops, and then moved onto running a multi-million dollar business that includes consulting, coaching, training, and information publishing. But there was of course so many stumbles, falls and triumphs between them. Isn’t that what makes a story interesting after all, and of course gives him the knowledge to help his clients and students often double, triple, and even 10x their business - some in as little as 90 days, by teaching them how to transform their limiting, time-intensive businesses into automated money making machines that Attract Clients Like Crazy®. So with his life now rocking and rolling, could he only have got here by going through the roller-coaster that is the entrepreneurial life? And how did he manage to keep going, when things weren't going the way that he wanted? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Adam Urbanski. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Adam Urbanski such as: The best marketing is to find a way of tapping into your natural talents and bringing that to the world. It's not selling, but its making people want to work with you. Adam shares how he has developed his ability to connect with people across the world, and feels that its the empathy which is a key aspect to what he has become. Why the upskilling and grind phase of building is so important, as it shows you how much you truly want to make this business your life. and lastly…. Adam reveals how his mindset has changed over the last few years and the time aspect that comes with freedom is so attractive to him, where money used to be king.

Dream Big With Mitch Matthews And Change Your Life Forever

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who from an early age made big decisions as to how to get what he wanted in life. So many people live a life of reaction. They wait for something to pass them by and then reach out hoping that their fingers might just grab a bit of what they have seen. This is certainly not the case with todays guest, as demonstrated at just age twelve, he set his sights on attaining his first “dream job.” (Working at a local bike shop) So he spent 2 to 4 hours a every day that summer just hanging out, cleaning, and watching. By the end of the summer the bike shop owner (one of our guests heroes) offered him a job. (It was either that or have him arrested for loitering!) And that says so much about where our guest is today, inspiring people to take the actions that will make their dreams big and real. Now this is where it all comes together, as he says in his own words  In 2006, he and his wife were working on one of their own big dreams (launching a product) and they experienced some significant set backs in a very short time. He was tempted to give up and go back to something “safe.” But since this was one of his big dreams, he got the idea that maybe some friends could help. Then he started to think that maybe… just maybe… he could help some of his friends with some of their big dreams too. And bang the 1st BIG Dream Gathering was formed, as on a whim, he invited some friends and family to participate in something he called a “BIG Dream Gathering.”   It was only supposed to last for a few hours but it wound up continuing on for a FULL WEEK! So living a life where you whole aim is to inspire people to take action and dream big, can be so exhausting as every waking second your mind whirrs with the possibilities that abound. So how has he managed to create the life he wants, business he wants, become a top podcaster and still look like he has just left high-school? And what is the number one peice of advice that he gives the world, when asked "How do I start my dream too?" Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mitch Matthews Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Mitch Matthews such as: Mitch shares how he now realizes that he is a recovering perfectionist, and the steps that he takes to get past these mental blocks. We talk about how all of us must learn ways of starting small in a business even if you only have fifteen minutes a day. They all add up to something worthwhile. Why Mitch is such an advocate of resting, and allowing himself to shut down the brain. Ke know what is right for his own body and ensures its part of his calendar. and lastly…. You might find it a surprise that "Being a freak" is classed as a badge of honour by both Mitch and David and the reasons why.

Sports Winners Do The Unusual, And Todays Guest Is Fascinated By Sports And What Makes People Great

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the author of "Where Others Wont" which looks at the recruitment, leadership, culture and performance strategies used in pro sports and how they are relevant to big business. Now this isn't a book based purely on theory, instead our guest has been doing the rounds and spent the last year interviewing people like Denver Broncos GM Ted Sundquist, Southampton president (and former Oilers coach) Ralph Krueger, 2 x World Series winner Ryan Theriot and Utah Jazz coach Igor Kokoskov (among others) to validate some of the ideas he had. Would they agree with his theories or say, probably in an American voice "Get the hell out of here kid!"  Well I guess we will find out during the show. But what I like most about todays guest is, getting himself into a position where he is involved in the disection of sports leadership across the world was never a given. Leaving University with degrees in business and Human Resources, he first entered the world of recruitment in Melbourne Australia, before moving to Canada to enter another world altogether. And through the next decade he worked in seemingly unconnected businesses, that held dots, never to join up to where he is today. We know though that is never the case. And now as the managing Partner for NTSQ Sports Group, he is surrounded by a team specializing in experience creation and marketing in the endurance sports industry. So did he plan to get himself into the position where he is today, or does he look around with a smile and think "Wow, how did this happen?" And what is the biggest learning he has from the crossover from sports to business? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Cody Royle  Books By Cody Royle   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Cody Royle such as: Cody shares how there was no plan towards the future he created, he simply looked at what doors that were opening in front of him and decided which one he wanted to go through. Cody discusses how the top teams across the world are always looking for new ways of gaining a competitive advantage, and more often than not that means looking in areas not connected with sport.  Why all business success is based around building a team which complements your own strengths. It is so important to realise that you cant do it on your own. and lastly…. How he now realises that strengths and talents he had as a young man, were exactly the right ones he needed to be able to step into his future positively. Dont think you have to keep on leaving everything behind you. Take the gold and leave the stuff you dont need.

Being Happy Is So Important, And Todays Guest Is An Expert In Happiness And How To Achieve it

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is someone that should be on the show every single day. If i could pull her away from the sunshine of her home in Spain, and the endless supply of Sangria that is, as she is the Join Up Dots pinup. A lady who believes 100% percent, that if you are living your purpose, doing a job that you love, then many if not all of your problems, health, mental and financial will be a thing of the past. Which as you will see everyday on Join Up Dots is a message that I support wholeheartedly on every episode. She is a positive psychologist, coach and writer, who helps individuals connect with the unique passion and purpose that drives their personal and professional success. As she says "I am fascinated by what propels a person to pursue their vocation, entwining their innate strengths, values and interests to serve both themselves and the rest of the world. I fuse the art of Coaching with the science of Positive Psychology to help individuals gain the clarity, confidence and courage to become all they aspire to be. I also undertake a variety a written projects on the subjects of positive psychology, personal development and coaching. Creative writing has always been a passion of mine, so producing written content on the above mentioned topics is the surest way I evoke a sense of 'flow'." So coming out of the University of East London, with a Master's degree in applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology it would seem that this passion for helping others find their swing was always going to be on the cards. But as we see on Join Up Dots, this is more often than not never the case. So did she know that she would end up living in Barcelona, whilst casting a network across the world to help the world smile and love their lives? And where do people go wrong? Not stopping to ask "Why do i feel like a it rubbish?" or simply not stopping at all. Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Lisa Avery   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Lisa Avery such as: Lisa shares how we should be able to accept our moods and emotional states when they happen without ever suppressing them. Let the energies run free. We discuss how  the majority of companies wont allow their workers to be creative with their strengths and intricacies. Why can't we be unique and bring talents never seen before?       How we should all experiment with trying to strip away the layers that we wrap ourselves in, to find the diamond that is at our core. That gem holds the clues to the rest of our lives. and lastly…. Why people have to realise that happiness cant last forever. We need to find ways of making the first stage of happiness truly deep and fulfilling, and that normally relates to helping others.

Beating Stress Can Become Big Business As Shown In Todays Show

My guest today, on the confidence boosting Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who a few years back was disappointed with the current mental health care solutions he was offered after suffering from stress in the workplace. So like so many guests, he didn't accept what he saw and decided to take action, turning to alternative therapies which got him through and beyond this temporary stress. These solutions began forming into a business idea which led him to creating Stressbox in Jan 2014, and he took these learnings into the corporate environment to help with de-stressing in companies everywhere. As they say "We are an up and coming mental wellness fitness brand with a social purpose to support the epidemic of work related stress. We succeed in this by creating innovative holistic fitness workshops, in-house talks on preventing stress and performing our epic yet different fitness class….StressBox. Our powerful class combines Boxing fitness with Mindfulness all to wonderful music to inspire and enlighten you within our 1 hour experience. We create magic moments in our bespoke classes to suit your busy schedule, at StressBox we understand that time in this hectic world is valuable so we combined Holistic health with musical fitness to have greater impact on your mindset not just your body." To succeed in this new business, he researched stress in society for 2 years via practical innovative coaching and academically using Neuroscience, the science of meditation and positive psychology. And rapidly this knowledge became a cult hit at a popular gym in Birmingham, England with teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and teenagers becoming fanatics with his alternative style. So why if he had an issue with stress did he then decide to build a business around it, and not run to live stress free on a hot tropical island somewhere full of bikini wearing beauties? And is this as a real life issue, or do so many people just use the word as a badge of honour nowadays? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only, Mr Liam Joe Blackwood. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Liam Joe Blackwood such as: Why so many people find themselves in situations in their lives which doesn't naturally match their skills and talents - which can obviously lead to the kind of stress which can be avoided. Why the power of visualisation is such a powerful process in building success in a persons life, and the steps that we should take everyday to bring these visions to life. Liam Joe recalls the battles he overcome in the early days to get his vision out to the world, and the steps he took to get there. Why we should never overthink anything in our lives, but simply look to do the best we can in the most relaxed method possible. That is always the best way. and lastly…. Why Liam Joe allowed himself to feel creative and playful in his life which was a complete gamechanger and turned his life around forever.

Business Marketing Expert Ken Tucker Reveals Why Going Local Can Be A Goldmine

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is a master at taking a clients business and growing it beyond anything they could do on their own. He is the founder of Changescape Web, which focuses on integrated small business marketing solutions in the St. Louis and St. Charles metro area. Now what is interesting is how they do this of course, but also how they support the growth of both their clients and their own personal growth through several extremely strong values that they stick to. 1) Helping our clients become wildly successful. 2) Building strong, lasting relationships with our clients. 3) Ongoing commitment to both professional and personal growth and development. 4) Supporting our communities and causes that we care about, both locally and globally. and 5) Having fun! As they say It’s become something of a cliche to say that people should love what they do, but at Changescape, we really do! Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to meet them. It’s a lot of fun (and very rewarding) to discuss a problem one of our clients is facing, and then developing and implementing a campaign to solve it. Our passion for our work motivates us every day. So what is it about the local community that inspires him greatly, instead of hitting every corner of the world like so many of the entrepreneurs that appear on Join Up Dots? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Ken Tucker. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ken Tucker such as: Why becoming unemployable in your own business is more often than not the correct stance to take for huge success. Can You Make Life Changing Decisions When You Are Married With Kids?

Well, my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazing story of taking life by the scruff of the neck and turning full circle to where he wanted to be. As he says "After failing to get much of an education I set up an online business, selling books. This fuelled my passion for all things literary but the business failed. In order to pay the mortgage I started work stacking supermarket shelves at night. During the day I made a career plan to turn things around. In late 2004 I joined the still relatively young online gambling industry, working in a call centre. 5 years later I co-founded a company (which I subsequently sold) and went on to manage operations in the UK, Central and Eastern Europe. From 2013 to 2016 I was CEO of SKS365 Group. I am now a full time consultant, investor & advisor in one or two startups and, more importantly, I am embarking on a career as a writer, writing about mountains and the outdoors. In other words I am following my passion." And this is what makes him the perfect guest for a show like Join Up Dots, as in late 2016 he quit the rat race to redesign his life in a way that was more satisfying, interesting and adventurous both in his personal and professional life. He didn't know how to accomplish the large and vague objective of "living better", although he knew it meant being more entrepreneurial and spending more time outdoors! So he embarked on a career writing about mountains, adventure and his journey of redesigning his life and through his website the Armchair mountaineer he is showing all of us how to take control of our lives. So is it as simple as making a firm decision to do something, even if you haven't got all the dots lined up and doing it? Or did he plan everything out so he could make this the life that he has always wanted, and is so inspiring to the rest of us? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Thomas Smallwood. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Thomas Smallwood such as: How he managed to get the plan in place to be able to transition his life to where he wanted it to be, even if it meant doing stuff that wast part of the plan. Why it is so important to overcome the fear of reaching out to people who are ahead of you in their dream building (ensuring always that you provide value first) Why Thomas believes that you should rarely start anything that you want to make money as a first goal, instead work on the passion and see where it takes you. and lastly…. How no matter where you are in your journey of transition you will be hit by periods of doubt and lack of self confidence. Surround yourself with positive people to hep you through the bad times.

Should I Invest In My Own Business, Or Look For Investors?

Today's episode of Join Up Dots is inspired by a listener who asks a huge question, that plagues so many of us as we begin to create our dream businesses. Do we use our money on a business, or find someone to invest in our business....even if means us losing some equity Should we keep control of what we want in our life, if that means taking it slower (perhaps never getting to where we want to be) Well we were asked this:   My name is Alistair, a Brit who lives in India, and I’m just about to embark on the startup journey for the first time.    For my day job I do a lot of traveling. Today I happened across your podcast, and it made my 6 hour drive across northern India feel like time well spent! First, I’d like to say thank you for doing what you do. The reassurance that there’s so many out there in the same boat, and a friendly voice offering guidance, is invaluable.   I’m from a fairly modest background, never struggling, but comfortable enough. I’m also relatively uneducated, having dropped out of college before completing my A levels. Since then, I’ve been working my way around as an outdoor instructor, which is what led me to India.    I have been developing an app idea for around 8 months, and I’m about to take the plunge and spend the most amount of money I’ve ever had access to. It’s a small amount in the great scheme of things - £15,000 to develop and get the MVP off the ground - but for me, it’s everything.   I often hear the phrase “never invest your own money”, but at the stage I’m at, no-one is going to be queuing up with their cheque book. Neither would I be interested, as they’d want, quite rightly, a great big chunk of equity. So, my question is, which of the following scenarios sounds most sensible?   1 - I head out now, with nothing more than a well developed idea, a bunch of projections and revenue forecast assumptions, and go in search of angel investors to drum up enough money to get the app developed, knowing that I’ll have to give away large amounts of equity   2 - I go as far as I can with the money available - money my mother would rather I spend on bricks and mortar - develop the MVP, and, hopefully, get some real data and a little traction, with which I could back up my proposal to investors further down the line   The second subject that you may have talked about before; I hate asking for money… Perhaps it’s my background, but I dread the thought of asking for tens of thousands and negotiating equity for my little app idea. My boss, a very well educated, well off, Cambridge alumnus, seems to have no qualms about raising half a million, even though I know for a fact he knows as much about his new venture as I do mine. Is asking for money a common concern of your listeners?   Thank you for your time.  Warm Regards, Alistair   And now for the second question of the day, where our listener is doing quite well in his life, but has got to a point where he feels lost.   Should he go back to Mexico, or should he start a business where he is.   Hi. David I will use “Sailor aimlessly” as subject of the message.   Not sure if you read and reply to all messages you get, and I do not want to waste your time, therefore I will go straight to my point:   Until a few months ago I was clear about what I was doing with my professional life, set goals and met them all.   Today I sail aimlessly, have many ideas but I have not been able to land them and define what my next step should be, it is a terrible feeling and the reason why I am looking for help. In case you are interested in my case, find below a summary of my most recent story:   Long story short, I am Mexican living in Ireland for the last 2 years, almost 36 years old, 12 years married and we have 3 beautiful daughters (Valentina, Mikaela & Emma).   Since young age with different ideas, active, impatient; I finished high school and left Mexico to pursue my dream, I wanted to be a professional soccer player; tried it in the USA but it did not work, but I decided to stay as illegal working to raise some money and buy my other dream (a motorcycle – it was later robbed in Mexico).   Soccer helped me finish my studies, got a scholarship in one of the most prestigious private universities in Mexico to play for the institution.   During College, I set the goal of studying abroad and had the opportunity to live in Austria for 6 months doing a Global Business Program at FH Joanneum University.   I come from an entrepreneur family, during my childhood sold cheeses, washed cars, worked in stationers and I was a soccer coach for kids; I started working full time for Mexican government age 22; at the same time I was doing College studies, I was a husband and father of my first kid.   After a while, I decided to quit that job and move into private sector, it was a family business owned by a friend of mine, I knew the salary and benefits were lower but I did not want to make a career in politics; Once I finished my Major in Business Administration (2006), defined that I wanted to work for a global company, maybe it would give me the opportunity to live / work abroad, I wanted to compare how things work outside of my country.   This also became a reality in 2007, since then I have been working for a Global Food company (the last 10 years), I have had the opportunity to live in 3 different countries (Mexico, Brazil and Ireland), I have done different roles within the organization (Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Cost/Pricing, Finance), sometimes company needs, in other occasions it was me looking for new challenges. Couple of years ago (while working) opened a bar with some friends, it did not work and we had to close it; besides the lost money these experience left me many learnings (maybe for a different conversation) … I also invested in the family business, we produce tomatoes in greenhouses,   I have not seen any income from it as we agreed to reinvest and expand/growth the business. A month ago to distract my head and use my time, I download an app and invested few euros, started trading commodities via CFD, I have to admit it is good fun.   I have thought about changing residence again looking for growth within the company, finding a new job, opening a business in Ireland, return to Mexico and diversify the family business. I feel like I'm in a comfort zone, the company I work for gives me stability and a secure income, the questions I've been asking myself are: what do I want, what is next, where should I be, what should I do and when is the right time?   And I have not been able to answer them and set up my plan. I am clear, more money is definitely an important piece but also I want to help others – must likely in Mexico – but I need to find my internal peace first.   Any ideas or advice is welcome. Thank Rodrigo

Travel the world on $12 dollars a day? Dream or reality? Travel expert Will Hatton shows the way

Today’s guest joining us on Join Up Dots, is one of those guys that I love speaking to as when you first research them you think “They are a little bit mad” And then when you see them describe themselves as “An amateur adventurer, digital nomad and travel addict. I like to get muddy, naked and painted.” you think yeah wasn’t far wrong. But what makes this guy fascinating to me, is how very easily he could have been living the normal, humdrum lifestyle of so many of us if he had listened to the words of others. As he says in his own words “I first started backpacking when I was eighteen and was instantly hooked by all the inspiring people I met whilst hitching, camping and couch-surfing around Europe. Since then, I have lived in India for a year, worked on bars in Vietnam, herded goats in the Holy Land and conquered the highest navigable pass in the world armed with a poorly drawn map and a packet of ritz crackers. I have survived knife-point robberies in Nepal, guerrilla encounters in Myanmar, motorbike crashes in Vietnam and numerous other mis-adventures. In 2011, I came back to the UK and settled into a job (much to my parents delight!) working for a travel company; I hoped I had found my true calling! Sadly, I spent almost all of my time behind a desk and so I decided to throw it all in, start this blog, and hit the road. And now with thousands of followers actively consuming the tales of adventure and madness everyday, it seems to me that he has now found his true calling. So what was it about ritz crackers and the life on the open road that so appealed in the early days? And by surviving on just $12 dollars a day for over two years, has this been the key to totally immersing yourself into this thing called Planet Earth, that so many of us rarely truly see? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Will Hatton

How Do You Make An Unsupportive Spouse An Ideal Business Partner?

In today's episode of Join Up Dots we look at what makes an unsupportive spouse one of your biggest flagbearers in your life. You see everyday we talk about starting your own business, but we never really talk about how it will effect the lives of those closest to you. And more often than not it will either financially or emotionally. So what can you do about it to ensure that things go the way that you want? Let's start with our first question, which was posed by email from a gentleman I love your show. I only recently got into podcasts. The interviews and information you provide are really helpful. I do have a suggestion for a show though. Unsupportive spouses. I come from a lower middle income family that has always done side gigs as a way to supplement their income. So entrepreneurship has pretty much always been in our blood. I've been freelancing software development services since 2007. In 2009, I immigrated to Australia without any family or friends and had to close down my business in my home country. I had a permanent position for about a year, when In 2010, I started my own business doing contracting and consulting again. It was a one man show and I did really well but I never made the leap to employ people as I just didn't have the experience or mentor-ship to take me to the next level and I didn't know where to get that support. Especially on how to get more clients. I also started an online store in a niche market and it was really doing well. Then in 2016, I hit a really rough patch. My wife were on paternity leave for about 6 months when my contract ended with a big bank. Unfortunately I didn’t have another client to go to as I was the one doing the contracting as a software engineer. For the next 6 months from June to December, my online store's sales had dried up and no matter how much money I threw at advertising or marketing, I wasn't able to get significant sales. I was unable to land any contracts and going over Christmas with no income was especially stressful. As you can imagine, this caused a lot of stress, fights and money flow problems and almost caused our relationship to fall apart. To add to this, my dad passed away in my home country and we had to fly over for the funeral. My credit cards were maxed out and I fell into depression. It was a really dark time. Then in January 2017, I got a short 6 month contract, but by then, my credibility as an entrepreneur had been crushed in my wife’s eyes and she pleaded with me to get a permanent position. So in June 2017, I landed a permanent position with a company. It's a very good company and I like what I do. It pays the bills, and more importantly, I'm able to pay back my spouse the money she lent me when I was in trouble, but it's not where my heart is. I have all these ideas, all these plans to be an entrepreneur. I want to start more online stores, learning from my mistakes and doing better. I want to create software products and services. I want to do so much more. The problem, however, is that every time I try to bring up the subject to start new online stores on the side, or to finally create that software service that I thought about, again, on the side, my wife just shoots it down and it becomes a shouting match about how I've not accomplished anything for the last 8 years, and that I had no work and no income for 6 months while she was on paternity leave. She also brings up that I'm in my 40's and starting a new business is better left for 20 year olds, how I still owe her money. I'm busy shutting down the online store as it's not bringing in enough sales. To be honest, I know I can't just quit my job at the moment and continue my business, however, I can do it on the side and build up a client base or at least start some online stores to bring in some money. I really need some advice on what to do. I really love my wife and child, and I don't want to disappoint them again. I also believe that working for someone will never make you rich or wealthy. I've tried including her into my plans, asking her for advice and all other advice they suggest on the net, but she still has no confidence in me. Joining with that question we also answered, one from a gentleman called Eugene in America who asked: Hi David. Saying hello from Seattle Washington. First off I just want you say I listen and enjoy your show practically everyday. Lots of great info and motivation. I have to ask though, in your case, if you didn't have that big 'motivational push' - your new manager- do you think you would have still left your job? Another point I'd like to mention is that I noticed a lot of people have a significant other to lean on once they decide to take the leap and quit there jobs. Was your wife working when you made that transition? A little about myself, I'm on the 'fence' right now. Working a 9 to 5 but also doing my passion, discovering the stories behind the people that make up the Pacific Northwest. www.whatsupnorthwest.net So if you have a question or need some support from Join Up Dots, then let us know and we will be happy to respond on a future episode of Join Up Dots.

Tapping Your Way To A Successful Business Is An Unusual Story For Sure

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who has built a very unusual business, after travelling a very unusual path. He is the author of the best-selling children’s book “The Wizard’s Wish,” the co-author of the best-seller “Freedom at Your Fingertips,” a featured expert in the film “The Tapping Solution” (along with Jack Canfield, Bob Proctor, Dr. Norman Shealy and Dr. Bruce Lipton), and has been heard internationally on a number of internet radio talk shows. He is an expert in tapping, which is something that I had never heard off until recently, but has many many followers and prctaioners around the world. Tapping, also known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), is a powerful holistic healing technique that has been proven to effectively resolve a range of issues, including stress, anxiety, phobias, emotional disorders, chronic pain, addiction, weight control, and limiting beliefs, just to name a few. Tapping therapy is based on the combined principles of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Tapping with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensations, helps to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body’s balance of energy. But this guy isn’t just about a history based around medical practices as intriguingly he is also a graduate of Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Clown College, where he was selected to be the emcee and a featured performer in the final show under the “Big Top.” :•) So how did a man go from this point to where he is today, helping people around the world overcome financial issues, heath issues and a wide range of symptoms? And is this something that was obvious to him, or did he fall into it like so many of our other guests who has appeared on the show? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brad Yates. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brad Yates such as: Brad shares how 95% of the things that bother us in life will lead to stress, which can be alleviated by practising the tapping technique he teaches. We discuss how he has created a global YouTube following simply by recording a video and then another until there are amazingly 700 plus to view. You have to start somewhere. He recalls how people saw the moment that he left his acting career as a step in the wrong direction. Not many supported him as he began work on his new venture and lastly…. We discuss the abundance that is found in the world today, which allows us all to create similar businesses whilst still creating amazing livings for ourselves. Nothing should stop us starting.

How To Make Real Estate The True Smart Passive Income

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has created huge success for himself almost from the first chance that he could. As he says "I knew from an early age that punching time clocks and working for someone else wasn’t enough for me, which is what drove me into building businesses myself and being my own boss. Living a healthy and active lifestyle has always been important to me, that’s why at the ripe ol’ age of 21, I built my first company that coached clients on effective nutrition and fitness strategies. I began to grow my team and recruited and hired an epic sales team to keep things running smoothly. I ran a successful multi-million dollar company before I was old enough to rent a car. As soon as I realized how profitable real estate investments could be, I bought my first home as an investment. One home quickly became five, and when those five were doing really well, I just couldn’t help but add more. I became obsessed with learning everything that I could about the business. Before I knew it, I had over 50 investment properties that were all performing well and the steady flow of passive income was proof of that. I was passionate and incredibly excited to tell everyone I knew about everything I learned. Today, I dedicate my time to mentoring other entrepreneurs, building my real estate investment portfolio, and helping other investors to build a brighter future through the power of passive real estate income." And now with his colleague Jeff Schechter, he is running the High Return Real Estate programme where they teach their students how to gain high return real estate opportunities that are unavailable elsewhere.   The processes of acquisition, rehabbing, placement of tenants, and management are fully systemized to deliver properties that are well below market pricing, and perform at much higher returns than you could secure through traditional sources. Sounds good doesnt it....but is it? Is it something that falls into the category of passive income, or one where you are battling with terrible tenants and hassles you wouldnt want for anyone? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jack Gibson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jack Gibson such as: Jack shares the reasons why he loves passive income strategies and why he develops these in every way that he can throughout his business. Why it is so important to find the skills sets in others that complement each other. You just cannot build a business on your own. Why Jack admits to struggling with "never being enough" in his business a why he keeps hi vacations to a week at a time. and lastly…. Why McDonald's became the biggest land owners in the world because they knew where the value of their business was...and it wasn't hamburgers.

Health Is Big Business And Todays Guest Has Taken His Ill Health And Created Massive Success

Today’s guest entrepreneur joining us on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots podcast interview is a man who has been through so much that you would think that a smile wouldn’t be permanently attached to his face. But attached it is, and it seems to be getting bigger everyday too. You see this is a guy who found his path to success, fulfilment and enjoyment in such a dark place that it is testament to the truth “The real gift is waiting within” As he says “For nearly two decades of my early life, there was always something wrong with me. I was dead tired and suffered from an avalanche of health problems. I endured all of this even though I was an athletic and supposedly fit young man. I tried to ignore it, tucking it all under a rug, but eventually there came a day when I decided enough was enough. And it was all because of this one fateful event… It was late one Wednesday night in the middle of March, a few days before my 17th birthday. I had just returned home from soccer practice, but I was even more of a mess than usual…” You see he had finally come to the acceptance that there was something wrong within, that not only would change his outward appearance dramatically, but also threaten his life dream of becoming professional footballer forever. He had found his biggest challenge, one that would take him to the brink, before he managed to step onto the first part of the path, that would lead him to where he is today. A New York Times best selling author and one of the most trusted health experts in the world, appearing on TV and radio across the world. So how did he beat the physical issues, when he also had to tackle the mental issues that made his teenage years so difficult too? And does he feel that this is 100% what he should be doing with his life, or is he simply waking towards the bigger path, waiting patiently for him? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Yuri Elkaim.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we spend time talking about why and if you should build a content based website. Over the last few years, people have become more and more fascinated with having the ability to create extra income for themselves on auto pilot. You go to sleep and wake up richer than you were before. And now with the internet ruling the world, even the smallest individual can dominate major corporations by building small laser targeted niche websites based around a single subject. Now this episode was inspired by a guy called Paul Gray, who dropped us a line into our Facebook Page asking the following question "Hi David, I've been listening to the podcast for the last few months and think it's great. Both inspirational and motivational. Just wanted to ask for any advice on starting a holiday website similar to yours. (Although not for Florida keys). Love the idea of the side income potential that, for the most part, would run itself once the initial work has been done. Keep up the great work with the podcast. Thank you, Paul." So we responded to him, and advised that we would record an episode detailing our thoughts on creating extra income in this way. Now as we say, it is reasonably easy to do something like this but it does take some planning. You dont want to start off on the wrong foot and spend your time creating a site, that although of interest to many people is a struggle to monetize. So start by thinking about, what people would pay for, and how easy is it to create a site around that thing? This is what I considered right at the very beginning of creating "Whats At Florida Keys" Would people pay to find out more information regarding this part of America? Well, no they want it for free, but they will pay to book a hotel room, or hire care, go scuba diving or a romantic meal or two. So can you find people that will be willing to pay you some kind of profit by passing leads through to their business? If you can then this is a great start to your desire to earn extra income for yourself - now you just have to go out and start building the site

So many people want to become an entrepreneur but where do you start?

Well my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a uk guy who knows more than most what it takes to get something off the ground, and become a success. He author of the book series, The Law Of Business, a book series highlighting the skills needed to make a business successful, whilst also running a podcast of the same name. But why I wanted to have him on the show was to highlight the guys at all levels of building their dream businesses. As he says "My entrepreneur story started when I went to an event in oxford circus hosted by an American singer called Napoleon, an affiliate of Tupac Shakur." And that start is more than good enough to think....these are dots that need to be joined up. Anyway, he was was telling us his story and all the things he did etc, at the end of the event I started thinking, this man is not much older than me and he has done so much with his life. It was wake up time, and that's when I said I need to achieve something big in life, to free myself from the supermarket life i was living at the time.  I went home and while on my bed I was thinking of the things I could do, I said to myself, I can't be a doctor, I can't be a football player, then Bill Gates came on my mind, and that's when I wanted to be an entrepreneur or inventor.   And that's when my journey begun. That free event completely changed my mindset and I haven't gone back to the employee and average living mindset ever since, I always think big now.   In 2011 I had a language learning website called "Foreigntalk" but i took that down in 2012 because i knew nothing about marketing and sales, I was getting members but didn't know how to monetize from it.    I got into internet marketing by first doing network marketing than I worked on some advertising websites, then I started my own ad website and now I am working on the law of business, my book series and making online courses about business and personal development as well.    So this is going to be such an interesting story, as it touches on so many areas that trip others up as they work on the life they want.   So why is it that people manage to create a traffic source, but then fail to monetize it?   Is it that they create a business that doesn't solve others problems, or actually creates more problems for themselves?   Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jamil Jama. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jamil Jama such as: How Jamil is never happy re the amount of work that he gets done, and often gets told by his friends to calm down and look after is health Jamil shares how he has developed his time management system, to ensure he gets masses done every single day. This is something we can all use. We talk about Meetup.com and how useful it is to surround yourself with like minded individuals who understand what you are going through in life. and lastly…. Jamil talks openly about his belief in self development, and why its the stories he hears that make such a huge difference to his life.

Funnels In Business Are Boomtime, And Todays Guest Is A Click Funnels Expert

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who rise to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. He went from a full-time insurance agent 4 years ago to building an e-commerce business that sold $20 million of physical products in 2016. What is astonishing is he did this WITHOUT using Amazon, eBay, or Shopify, and with nothing more than simple two-page ClickFunnels websites that use carefully optimized sales funnels. If you think that entrepreneurs are born more than made you could well be right. Our guest got his start in entrepreneurship with a pool cleaning business at 16, and has done everything from selling tea, to selling hundreds of thousands of dollars of t-shirts on Teespring, and to now selling 10,000 units per month across 20 different physical product lines. Today, he has built up an email list of 1.1 million subscribers and 300,000 buyers, and is selling the largest volume out of 50,000 ClickFunnels users. In addition to his eight-figure business selling physical products, his passion is helping and mentoring others to have the same success in e-commerce that he has had. But of course you need to have a direction right at the beginning, and then overcome the heartaches, stumbles and falls that knock so many people away from success like this. So was he just extremely lucky and didn't have any of these? Or is he a guy that believes that persistence overcomes luck and talent everyday of the week? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Trey Lewellen Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Trey Lewellen such as: Try shares a story of his early struggles, and reveals how he would have loved to be able to have reached out and found a mentor way before he found the man for him. Trey shares a powerful story of how the value of money has never changed for him, even when he earnt £117,000 he still appreciated what it took for the normal man to earn similar. Why flying across the world is so inspiring to Trey, as it brings into focus the complete abundance that we all have on offer to us everyday. and lastly…. Why people feel secure in the job that they do, even though they could lose it the next day. This is madness, and a side hustle should be on everyones schedule for protection.

Mistakes Lead To Business Success, If You Are Only Willing To Make Those Mistakes

In todays episode David Ralph the host of Join Up Dots will answer some questions sent in from listeners across the world. Some are quite deep whilst others are light and fun, but all of them in one way or another are tackling the subject of mistakes and being willing to tackle them head on.

David, thank you so much for the show. I love it. Do you ever wish that you had started a different business, as I think at my core I am frightened of starting something in case I make a mistake and end up hating it. - Michaela Matthews, Toulouse, France Hello to all at Join Up Dots, i recently heard an episode where you answered listeners questions so I thought I would try to get one answered myself. I hate my life and for the longest time have felt in total despair that nothing good is ever going to happen to me. But after listening to many of your shows I am starting to change the way I think about the darkness. Both you and your guests have spoken about the bad times being the good times in the end. I think I can see that is true. So how can I make this small change in the way I think bigger and bigger, as its the key I feel - Peter Druboivs, Pula, Croatia Hello David, my question is about that clip that you play when Oprah speaks about "Doing The Right Next Thing". If I am getting this right, she says be quiet, listen to your thoughts and then go and conquer. Surely if it is that easy then everyone would be a success. Thoughts? - Damion Dansey, Ontario Canada, And now if you have been following along with the show, you will have head me mention numerous times about a lovely lady who is connecting with the show called Derek. We call her Derek. so that her bosses, if they happen to listen to the show, wont know its her. Yeah, i know we do too much. However Derek is in the process of reading self development, listening to podcasts, and planning how she can create a business that rocks, whilst at the same time supporting her partner and her lifestyle and she is a bit lost as to how to proceed. Now there isn't anyway that she can just go crazy and do the leap of faith, so a strategic plan is needed to allow her to side hustle her way to earning additional income and growing that confidence. Business is nothing more than, finding something you can do amazingly well, and that others need and will pay for....and then getting them to know about it after all. Well this week, Derek posted in the FB group a statement of success that made me sit and up and take notice. She advised us "What’s crazy is less than a year ago I started a band - I had zero idea what I was doing. None whatsoever. I just know that I can sing and I started networking and contacting people I had no business contacting being a brand new band and we started making decent headway. I’m floored by the success we’ve seen with the minimal effort I’ve put into it. Why I doubt myself in other arenas is beyond me" Isn't that amazing...she has already created success, by doing all the right things already. Now its time for her to replicate that format to gain more success again.

I am also very passionate about creative expression – especially spoken word poetry, painting (finger painting counts, right?) and salsa and tango dance. In my other time, I have coached individuals; worked designing personal development focused curriculum and leading weekend summits for groups of entrepreneurs and change-makers; served as a camp counselor for an adult summer camp revolving around authentic connections sans technology; created and offered workshops on cultivating passion and purpose; and co-facilitated transformative women’s circles and NYC-based programs for career shifts and meaningful work." So can you spend so much time helping other people that you fail to truly look after yourself, or supporting other lead onto an increased personal energy that drives you forward bigtime. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is widely known as the Morning Coach, with a daily podcast that has been downloaded over 22 million times. He is a sought-after motivational speaker and coach with an international following, he holds advanced degrees in business and metaphysics but credits his street education—from black eyes to near bankruptcy—with providing the life-changing lessons that inspired the keys to personal transformation he shares with audiences, coaching clients, and readers worldwide. Now that is the official blurb but what about the man himself. What lead him to be the go to morning person that the world is reaching out for? Well, he thought he had found what he was looking for once he achieved a golden level of corporate success and financial freedom. He had money. He had status. But it wasn't enough, as he realised having conquered the corporate ladder, he felt a strong pull to seek something more, leading him to actualize his personal dream. But what was his personal dream, as he it certainly turned out to be not what he was doing? Well, by aligning his mission, values, and goals, he was able to form an action plan and achieve his vision of a fulfilling career of guiding others toward realizing their inner purpose balanced with his passions of family, golf, and writing—all with a three-hour workday. And this journey prompted him to write the popular book The Sacred Six: The Simple Step-by-Step Process for Focusing Your Attention and Recovering Your Dreams. This 5-star-rated book, the podcast and his overall outlook inspire others to be their best and change the world. So looking back was he actually on the wrong path, or did he need this false start to truly find the right one? And where do people go wrong, listening to others, or not listening to themselves? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only JB Glossinger. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with  such as: How he managed to turn himself from a night owl into the morning morning person, and the difference that has made to his outlook and fortune. Why JB feels that making people taking action and being hugely motivated is not his job to see through. He gives them the tools and then its up to them. JB shares the fact that almost everyday he screws up, and how he has learnt to not beat himself up by the fact of opportunities missed.  and lastly…. JB reveals why he feels that he was so lucky to have a Columbian mountaineer on his side as he wife knows how you never get to the top of the highest peak that you aim for.

Are you excited by what the world has to offer you on New Years eve? Well i guess you should be as its a time for new beginnings.

However in this episode of Join Up Dots, I share why I feel setting a goal because of the date, is not as valid an idea as starting a goal because you truly want to.

The motivation to achieve anything has to start within you, and if you are being forced into it you are prone to fail bigtime. So from myself the host of Join Up Dots, I just want to say a big "Happy New Year", thank you for listening to the show in ever increasing numbers and I look forward to sharing more stories, more insight, and a lot more motivation and laughs in the new year.

Have a good one and we will see each other again very soon - David

Starting a Business, Starting To Make Money, Starting The Dream - Its All Here Today

Today's show is almost the last one for 2017 and has a few varied and excellent questions from listeners across the world. This is the kind of stuff that really makes hosting a show like Join Up Dots a total delight to host. But the first question, is more of a review of the show, and an amazing insight to the vision that is the show and what we hope it all to become in the future. A great year is almost finished. 2017 has become a changing point for me. Here is my short story. I grew up in Ukraine but I’ve been dreaming to go abroad all my life. I thought about UK. I hadn’t gone to UK, but last year I came to Dubai. It was great event for me. I had worked for one year in the hotel and changed my job then. I worked in sales in Ukraine and I found same job here in Dubai. Now I am working in sales department of a big Real Estate Developer company. The interesting fact. My manager is an amazing British woman. And some brokers whom I work with, are British too. Some of them live in Dubai and work here, some of them live in UK but we are cooperating. It’s a quite interesting, isn’t it? I feel like all the dots started connecting and only now I can understand what Steve Jobs said in his speech in 2005 in Harvard. It’s true, we can’t connect the dots looking forward, we can only connect them looking backwards. But I want to say thanks to one more British person that I’ve met. This person is David Ralph. I’ve found his podcast recently and I listen to it every day, 2-3 episodes a day. He is doing a great job. He is really connecting the dots, all those dots between the people from different countries all over the world. And these amazing people are sharing their life experience in David’s program. I’d like to say thank you, David. I love your program! Merry Christmas to you and whole your family! Question Two Hello David and Join Up Dots, I have recently seen your page when it shares how you monetize Join Up Dots, which is great. This has led me to want to ask two questions if you would be so kind. Firstly, I see that you have a automobile business listed. Is this your business, or are you are partner? And secondly, I see a lot of people share their income statements on their websites. Why do you think they do this, and have you ever considered this to be something that you would like to do too?  - Adler Ling, Shanghai, China Question Three Join Up Dots Rocks - I listen everyday and tell all my colleagues to listen too. Your show is not like any other that I have heard. What is your favourite episode you have recorded - Osil Harket, Norwary Question Four Thanks for creating such a wonderful podcast. I came across it 2-3 weeks ago and love listening to many of your past episodes. I have been wanting to create an online business since around 2005. I think I first got the bug after listening to Tim Ferriss's audiobook of the 4 Hour work week. I also was listening to Internet business mastery, which then lead me to Pat Flynns podcast. My challenges are: How to really get started, which idea of my many I should go with, over coming my fear of failing. Maybe it's low self confidence, but I feel that I have failed at a lot of things in life and so I am or was afraid to really try to build an online business. I don't want to fail on my "dream". One thing that I dislike about other podcasts is that the  host eventually begins to self promote their products and courses and start sharing less and less of how or what to do. I feel that you don't  do this. So thank you. Other than wanting to ask you for help on being a mentor and getting me on the right path, I'd like to know how long was it from the time you thought about leaving your job to actually sending out your first podcast? What exactly were you doing? How did you know what you needed to do to set up your podcast? Did you set up a website before or after? If I were to do the same as you, what kind of costs would I be looking at to get started? You talk about all the hours and hard work that went into getting things going. What did those times look like, what were you doing? Last question, what's your favourite thing for breakfast? Thanks again for creating Join Up Dots, it's really inspired me to start taking action. PS. some of the buttons on your site are broken or not set up, fyi. Ryan.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, is a man with a fascinating tale joining up many dots to where he is today. Spending the first nine years of his career like Maverick in Top Gun, he felt the need the need for speed, as an Air Force Pilot, before entering the corporate world to work for Abbott Laboratories and then Valassis. And he was on top form working for both companies, and was recognised as a top performer. Which is of course great, but underneath lurking in his passions and dreams, was a desire to go out on his own to start his own business. The old leap of faith was beckoning, but like so many people across the world, he had the desire but not the direction. He wanted to do his own thing, but was unsure what that thing was supposed to be. And as we see time and time again on Join Up Dots, that path can reveal itself at anytime, and this was certainly the case with todays guest. As fate would have it, a random conversation with a friend about the gum ball machines his family owned started it all off. That one conversation sparked an intrigue and planted the seeds for what would eventually become his business School Spirit Vending. But not before disappointment, frustration and the downturn in the economy in 2008 knocked his confidence for six. And then a knock on the door happened at his home, and the path got clearer. So what was it about that knock on the door, and the conversation that happened upon opening it,that really got the juices going? And does he now look back and think, “Man, the clues were floating around me all the time, I just couldn’t see them?” Well let’s bring onto the show to start joining up dots, as we discuss the words of Steve Jobs in todays Free podcast, with the one and only Matt Miller Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Matt such as: How he feels the speed of the group is determined by the speed of the leader, and he is aware that everyday he has to be on top form to inspire that momentum. How he often advises entrepreneurs that when you start a product be aware that you will end up in a 180 direction change down the line. How he remembers the time, that it first dawned him that he had achieved the tipping point in his life and he had now achieved the time freedom he craves. And lastly…. How he now knows exactly what his key skills are, and actively seeks for people who are excited to do the things that he can’t. Which powers his business forward massively.
