Join Up Dots Podcast

Today's guest, joining us on Join Up Dots, is Fab Giovanetti, a lady who has quite simply trod a path that so many of us tread at first when going after the dream. Setting to work building her dream, she slowly began instead to build a nightmare in its place. Unreasonably long hours, hunched over her laptop, she worked 3 jobs, saying goodbye to her friends and weekends and quite simply wondered "What was the point in doing this? But at the point of darkness, when things cant get any darker you have two choices Number one sit down and stay in the dark, or number two push on until the dark is replaced by light and you come blazing out into your sun filled future. Well that is what out guests did, and instead of remaining in the dark she realised that it was time to learn from the best. So she studied the best entrepreneurs, thought leaders and guys and ladies who looked like they were having a blast. And little by little she turned her life around and now this former PR and marketing strategist and Music editor inspires people across the world to consume passion like its going out of fashion. Become a passion junkie she literally shouts across the world, and live a life so great that others will wonder how you did it. Leave them wondering she says and in her own words "When life gives you lemons, make orange juice and leave the world wondering how you did it." So how did this lady from Italy, find herself inspiring the world? And do you need to be inspire yourself first and foremost, or is it others that light your own personal spark? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Fab Giovanetti.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a New Zealander who has lived in London for 10 years, She is an expert in business growth and entrepreneurship, and has overcome extreme personal trauma to become a leading expert in her field. Having become a mother in New Zealand 15 years ago, whilst supporting a client during their multi-billion dollar merger – she later experienced the trauma of multiple pregnancies (12 babies in total including conceiving triplets), sadly without giving birth to another child. Through a period of personal discovery, she successfully overcame the huge emotional trauma that this period in her life involved. She is now keen to use this experience to help others identify how they can use the vulnerability they have experienced, which could be fear, failure, grief, sadness or shame, and turn it into power - regaining control of their lives and becoming successful in business and in life as they define it. Heartbreaking and life changing information I'm sure you will agree. But her life now only seems to be going one way. Into a world leaping out of bed, excited by the possibilities that are coming her way. As she says "I passionately believe that entrepreneurs should not be a slave to their businesses, rather they need to control them, enabling the entrepreneur to enjoy a full personal and family life too. I hope that I lead by example, enjoying an entrepreneurial career while also participating in many other of my life's passions and personal interests." So what made her take on the bold decisions in life instead of crawling into a tight ball and letting the world pass her by? And has she ever been the classic entrepreneur checking her emails, and twitter feed five times a minute, or has she always seen the right way to do stuff? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Adele McLay

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who has had a fascinating and arduous journey to where he is today. He is the founder of The Executive JOY Institute, and specializes in teaching organizations, leaders, and individuals how to become even more successful through psychology, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness. Which if you have listened to episodes of Join Up Dots you will have heard similiar guests speak of such work. Where today's guest differs is by the age of thirty-five, he had founded three international software companies, played semi-professional basketball (yes, he’s really six-foot nine!), and partied at the Playboy Mansion which sounds pretty amazing life affirming stuff. But our guest didn't agree and knew that he wasn't happy. Hard drugs, alcohol, a divorce, and a nasty lawsuit brought him to a low point where he needed to ask himself the big questions in life. A quest for change included earning a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the prestigious University of Santa Monica. And now he has taught leaders around the world, from Panama to the Philippines to Australia and Mexico, and has worked with a broad range of clients, including Microsoft and SAP So is he what he would consider to be happy now or still searching for something unattainable to him......simple contentment in life? And why does he think that we all set out on a path that appears to be wrong at the beginning even thouh the clues are all around us? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr R Michael Anderson

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady with a kind of bio that you don’t often see. As it says “What do you do when Alzheimers runs in your family and you fear you see early symptoms in yourself, too? She didn’t waste a single moment: She quit her job as a national award-winning teacher to pursue her lifelong dream to be a road comic. And her life has become one amazing adventure! She has entertained U.S. troops in Iraq & Kuwait; performed in comedy clubs in 40 states; and has been to Africa 4 times to perform for Ugandan audiences in two of their tribal languages, as well as going on an epic trek in search of wild mountain gorillas. What makes this so show so different is unlike so many of our guests who are escaping from a job they dont like, or guest loved her job she was trying to escape from something that went so much deeper than that. She realised due to the illnesses in her family that we are all living on borrowed time, and leaving something until tomorrow may well mean that it will never actually occur. Our buckets lists start overflowing with lost dreams, wishes and amazing experiences. And now with her book “A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO DEMENTIA: A Stand Up Comedian’s Race Against Time”, being published by Motivational Press does she look back and think “I should have done this earlier?” Or is life simply a series of dots that have to be crossed before you can truly find the thing that you want to do in life? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Sharon Lacey

Todays guest on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a fellow podcaster who has a great mission in life. He is a man who is an expert in helping couples find the spark in their once vibrant relationships. He helps build bridges where there are chasms to cross. He inspires conversation where there is simply silence. And he encourages bedroom passions, where there are just snores and sleeping. But if this sounds like a man who has lived a life of perfect relationships and harmonious connections then think again. As he says “Early in life, I learned about the heartache that comes when love doesn’t work. Coming into this world, I was fatherless, and the youngest of three. Life in Medellin, Colombia wasn’t easy. My Mother was 25 years old, addicted to cocaine, and didn’t have any interest in taking care of her three kids. When I was five years old my Mother was murdered. I was homeless for three years until I was finally adopted. My life was transformed! I had a Mother, Father, and was surrounded by a loving family in America. Soon after though, my adopted parents divorced. I was left confused and feeling like I couldn’t rely on love. I made up my mind that love doesn’t last and turned to spirituality for the connection I was seeking. For nearly a decade, I devoted my life to becoming a monk. My path into spirituality taught me a great deal—But no matter how much I learned there was something missing. That all changed when I met my first love. With her I found what I was searching for. I found someone I could be completely authentic and open with and someone who could see all of me. Falling in love was one of the most amazing experiences. It was much more than any meditation or spiritual experience could offer. Then she broke my heart and left.” So he has had some serious moments in his life, which could have left him saying “Why me?….What’s the point in loving?” But instead he has been left with “How can I help you?” Well let’s bring onto the show to start joining up dots, as we discuss the words of Steve Jobs in todays Free podcast, with the one and only Luis Congdon. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics as: How he now feels that there is no such thing that can fall into the camp of impossible, and its simply up to him to find the way to achieve his dreams. How he loves that he can now surround himself with the movers and shakers of the world and is surprised by the skill he has for networking. How he had one really bad night with his peer group, which affected him to such a degree that his life was never going to be the same again. How he is very aware of trying to learn from the people who have developed their zone of genius by researching the work ethic that got them to where they want to be. And lastly…….. How Richard Branson has mastered the ability of separating himself from the processes that most entrepreneurs get caught up with, and brings his true value to the table everyday.
