Mindset expert Andy Murphy is my guest today on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who can call himself a global mindset coach, with clients across the world who seek him out to help them go to the next level. From entrepreneurs, world champions, professional sports athletes, multi-millionaire business owners, TV and film producers, TV and stage actors, trauma survivors and even Royal Family have all benefited from his mindset skills. But what fascinates me, is coming from Liverpool he would have found himself surrounded with friends and families who are just looking to get by. He would have been on a path like so many of us that is almost expected. Study hard, leave school, get a job, start a family….you get the drift. But our guest didn’t do that, instead he left everything behind and traveled to Sydney Australia, where he discovered the mindset Neuro Linguistic Programming in a sales and marketing environment. Breaking multiple sales records whilst helping clients successfully structure and invest in real-estate and at the top of the business in Australia, he was head-hunted to New Zealand. There he began to share his skills with CEO’s and again being in high demand was prospected to many companies, helping them develop their sales teams and set up internal departments. At the age of only 26 he opened a company developing a project to build a 100 Million dollar resort in the Fiji Islands. After marketing the company over in Dubai along side multi billion dollar developments the global real-estate industry began to slow down and he had a decision to make. After so much success would he batten down the hatches and go into survival mode? Or would he do the unexpected and get bigger, opening his arms wide and screaming “Come on world its me, just watch what I can do!” Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Andy Murphy Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Andy Murphy such as: How he overcome his difficulties and fought back from depression and bankruptcy as a young man in Dubai. How he recalls that school taught him nothing but martial arts taught him everything. How his Father taught him from an early age to focus on the worse case scenario then you are prepared. Why it is that so many successful people spend time on their own to allow themselves to focus on the future. and lastly…. How everyday he knows that he is going to have to deal with being scared due to pushing forward into the unknown,

Marketing can be a huge problem for so many businesses, but not anymore with this guy around. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a guy who first appeared on Join Up Dots way back on episode 107 Back then we spoke about his fascinating journey to where he is today known as The Millionaire Marketing Mentor®, the go-to guy for coaches, consultants, and other successful service professionals who want to attract more clients, convert more high-value sales, build an authority brand, and grow a lifestyle business that makes a bigger impact while generating more income. But life could have been very different, as starting his life in Poland, it was fair to say that he has come a long way since then, both Geographically and financially. Arriving in the United States of America with just $194.00 dollars in his pocket and a sprinkling of English, he set to work with a passion. The entrepreneurial bug has always been a keen element which makes him who he is, so it was with little surprise, but a lot of hard work that he transformed his finances by creating a series of business opportunities around California. First of all he co-owned a collection of bagel shops, and then moved onto running a multi-million dollar business that includes consulting, coaching, training, and information publishing. But there was of course so many stumbles, falls and triumphs between them. Isn’t that what makes a story interesting after all, and of course gives him the knowledge to help his clients and students often double, triple, and even 10x their business - some in as little as 90 days, by teaching them how to transform their limiting, time-intensive businesses into automated money making machines that Attract Clients Like Crazy®. So with his life now rocking and rolling, could he only have got here by going through the roller-coaster that is the entrepreneurial life? And how did he manage to keep going, when things weren't going the way that he wanted? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Adam Urbanski. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Adam Urbanski such as: The best marketing is to find a way of tapping into your natural talents and bringing that to the world. It's not selling, but its making people want to work with you. Adam shares how he has developed his ability to connect with people across the world, and feels that its the empathy which is a key aspect to what he has become. Why the upskilling and grind phase of building is so important, as it shows you how much you truly want to make this business your life. and lastly…. Adam reveals how his mindset has changed over the last few years and the time aspect that comes with freedom is so attractive to him, where money used to be king.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is lady with many different plates spinning at one time. She is an internet business lawyer whose mission is to show business owners like us how to cover our "assets" online without having to spend a lot of money on legal fees. As the founder of Cover Your Assets Online.Com she has created a Do It yourself Legal Toolkit so that entrepreneurs could protect not only their business assets but their homes, cars and investments Which is all interesting stuff, but what has lead her to this point Well her first career was as a TV news reporter and anchor in Toronto, where she won a couple of CanPro awards as well as a New York Film Festival award for news documentary, which delved into the topic of adoption. When her husband’s career took them to the U.S, she decided to switch careers and follow her long time dream of going to law school. She applied to the Roger Williams School of Law, which was 20 minutes from her house in Providence, RI. and practised for several years and then decided she wanted to be a coach. So internet laywer, business coach how do these things join up together. Well, i suppose at her heart she is a fixer. She loves to see an issue and bring a solution to the table As she says "I became a coach at the age of six, when I saw my parents fighting for the first time. I remember thinking, ‘I can fix this, if they would just listen to me.’ As an attorney, I always wanted to help people fix their lives so they wouldn’t need to hire me again. As a TV news reporter, I was always drawn to the personal interest stories. I’m a big sap, but I’ve come to believe that I have a duty to get my ass to Happy and have learned how to do that. I was born to help others do the same, to get up off their asses to live lives that are on fire (instead of being burnt out). So where shall we start today, talking about how to get happy, confident, or internet law......well in a normal fashion I think we will tackle all of them! So why is internet law so obviously a hot topic but so few people are offering this service? And is she living the life of her dreams, or with so much going on is she running around screaming "People, I can't do it all on my own!?" Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Lin Eleoff Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Lin Eleoff such as: She reveals how she has had to have times of darkness in her life, to allow her to savour the light more than she could ever hope to. Why she always has had the urge to create her own rules, and do things her own way even though she doesn't understand why she does it.. How she managed to create her first business, by searching the world of virtual law firms to find what excites her. And then taking huge consistent action. and lastly…. Why so many people lose their confidence during their life journey, and more often than not its down to them playing by others rules, and not their owns.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is an guy who has a title that I have never used before on any show But it is one that I wish that I had come up with, as he has been called the Gay White Oprah which is a fantastic name. But how has he come to receive such an accolade you maybe asking? Well my listeners it can be put down to one thing, or maybe two things. The ability to be himself, and the ability to know how to connect with others. You see all business success is based on these two characteristics, and it seems that our guest has them in abundance. As he says “I am the type of guy that can meet you and within two minutes have you spilling your heart out” So it’s with little surprise, that after receiving his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 2009, he has been taking this ability to open the hearts of whoever he talks to by helping people everywhere with his weekly advice podcast “The Dear Mattie Show” where he discusses relationships, sex, fear, friends, job, and even makeup in an inspiring and entertaining format. But if you are thinking that this is just another normal type of life-coach guest that you see all over the shop, then think again. He is also a singer; received a undergrad in Opera Performance from the University of North Texas, has been active in the project Get Empathy, a campaign to build a national movement to stop bullying in schools. Communication Director for Brave Trails, supporting Gay, Lesbian and Trans-Gender folk to become thought leaders in their fields, and a stand-up comic and producer. So with all these different experiences and knowledge, is there a chance that he could get lost with himself and dilute whatever he considers his god given super power? And when he get someone to start talking does he every think…”Ok, Ok, I think this was a bad idea? This person just wont shut up?” Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Matt Marr.

It's a truth that so many people will speak, or at least they convince themselves that it is a truth. "That if it was that easy then everyone would be doing it" They say those words when they dont want to put themselves into the position to fail, and so cling onto this truth as a comfort blanket against failure. So is it easy to become an entrepreneur? Is it easy to create a business from scratch so that you can sit on the beach with a cocktail or two and simply watch your bank account increase exponentially? No not at all, and there is certainly a good deal of pain in making something amazing happen There’s a lot of lip service paid to the value of going the extra mile, doing a little more, over-delivering and a host of other tired old expressions. There isn’t a whole lot of discussion on the value of suffering, which trumps all the other aforementioned areas combined. If you want to achieve something outstanding and get results you never got before, you’re going to have to suffer. You will have to go against your inner voice that tells you to hold back, stay in the routine you’re comfortable with and play it safe. Do you have to suffer every single moment? Absolutely not. But make no mistake about it, to get from where you are to where you want to be you’re going to have to suffer. To get what you’ve never gotten before you must do what you’ve never done before. And doing what you’ve never done before often is somewhere between uncomfortable and downright painful. So if you ever hear someone say the words to you "If it is that easy then everybody would be doing it" just smile at them and know that they will be saying those very same words for the rest of their lives. That comfort blanket is very hard to throw off once you have started wrapping it around you.

Life design is all the rage nowadays, and my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazing story of taking life by the scruff of the neck and turning full circle to where he wanted to be. As he says "After failing to get much of an education I set up an online business, selling books. This fuelled my passion for all things literary but the business failed. In order to pay the mortgage I started work stacking supermarket shelves at night. During the day I made a career plan to turn things around. In late 2004 I joined the still relatively young online gambling industry, working in a call centre. 5 years later I co-founded a company (which I subsequently sold) and went on to manage operations in the UK, Central and Eastern Europe. From 2013 to 2016 I was CEO of SKS365 Group. I am now a full time consultant, investor & advisor in one or two startups and, more importantly, I am embarking on a career as a writer, writing about mountains and the outdoors. In other words I am following my passion." And this is what makes him the perfect guest for a show like Join Up Dots, as in late 2016 he quit the rat race to redesign his life in a way that was more satisfying, interesting and adventurous both in his personal and professional life. He didn't know how to accomplish the large and vague objective of "living better", although he knew it meant being more entrepreneurial and spending more time outdoors! So he embarked on a career writing about mountains, adventure and his journey of redesigning his life and through his website the Armchair mountaineer he is showing all of us how to take control of our lives. So is it as simple as making a firm decision to do something, even if you haven't got all the dots lined up and doing it? Or did he plan everything out so he could make this the life that he has always wanted, and is so inspiring to the rest of us? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Thomas Smallwood. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Thomas Smallwood such as: How he managed to get the plan in place to be able to transition his life to where he wanted it to be, even if it meant doing stuff that wast part of the plan. Why it is so important to overcome the fear of reaching out to people who are ahead of you in their dream building (ensuring always that you provide value first) Why Thomas believes that you should rarely start anything that you want to make money as a first goal, instead work on the passion and see where it takes you. and lastly…. How no matter where you are in your journey of transition you will be hit by periods of doubt and lack of self confidence. Surround yourself with positive people to hep you through the bad times.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who I am delighted to have on the show. The reason why should be quite clear as we speak to her. Join Up Dots has always been about letting you the listener grow the confidence to tackle all obstacles head on. Smash doors in walls where there was no chance of escaping and living the life that you deserve. Well today’s guest is doing all that and more. She was a student at The College of New Jersey, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies, before starting in 2016––a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from The College of New Jersey. Which of course is impressive but not remarkable. However added to the fact that she was born with an eye disorder called, Cone Dystrophy, which has now progressed to the state where she is blinded by all lights, you can see that she has a powerful mindset to achieve. My mission in life is to continue to help spread awareness about mental and physical disabilities and with her book Now I See: How I Battled Blindness, Mental Illness, an Espresso Habit and Lived to Tell the Tale flying off the shelves it looks like things are going the right way after all. So when she was first diagnosed with her condition did she understand instantly how it would change her life? And how has she overcome the depression and mental issues that could have had her hiding away in the dark, instead blazing brightly across the world? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mariagrazia Buttitta . Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Mariagrazia Buttitta such as: How she can now see that her eye condition has become a true blessing in her life, and has literally taken her life in a new direction. Why life can be so difficult due to the comments and opinions of others. They base their comments on what “They Think” is possible and can often limit us in our own adventures. and lastly….

Fancy a bit of housesitting to earn some money? Well it’s an absolute delight to have on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, two ladies who literally bound around the world like some excited Labradors. And believe me that might not sound like a compliment, but it certainly is. As the two of them have had some huge setbacks in life, but haven’t allowed them to lose their spirit for life, and their desire to create adventure in their relationship. After originally meeting in 2010 at a course in Sydney, called ‘The Quest for Truth’ it became evident that the quest for truth, was going to be linked with their love of travel. A few years back, after leaving Australia, they entered into a business opportunity in Dubai, which of course they thought would be a good move, but turned out to be anything but. Or so hey would have thought at the time, but as we see literally everyday on Join Up Dots, the darkest times in our lives become the moments where we find our true paths. Left with literally nothing, they had to reassess what they wanted to do, and how they wanted to do it….with the caveat of making it as cheap as possible. With a mere $300 in their pockets they decided to start travelling through house-sitting as a way to save money on the rent they could no longer afford. They figured if they could save themselves rent and utility bills for six months or so, they could get back on our feet… and then go and do something they really wanted to do, which of course would involve travel. But actually they had found it already, and now are the creators of the international housesitting community, where they share their knowledge and experience with anyone who has that desire for the nomadic lifestyle….which I think most of us have at one time or another. So do they look back at Dubai, and go “Do you know that was truly the making of us…we wouldn’t change a thing!” And do they believe that within all of us is a business that can be built purely on our passions, leading to a life that we love? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start Joining Up Dots with the one and only, Nat & Jodie Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Nat & Jodie such as: How they have no dreams to settle down and love the thrill of what the future holds for them every time they open their eyes. How they compliment each other strengths perfectly with one being thoughtful and the other being gung-ho. How they both feel that nowadays a job is nowhere near as secure as getting out there and building a business based on passion. And lastly…. How they had no plans at all when they started the housesitting community, but have built it all by trial and error…which we all can do.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a startup expert who has worked so hard to where he is today, he has more lessons learned before the age of 30 than most people aged…well 30. He is proof that hard-work and determination pay off’s as he climbed the ladder of the restaurant industry as many do: with a great deal of empathy, a little bit of luck, and a massive amount of overconfidence. After graduating from Harvard in 2009, he worked his way up from being a busboy in Boston to being a beverage director for Momofuku in New York City, where he managed the buying, pricing, and selling of wine, beer, and spirits for the restaurant. Through living through this experience, he decided that he wanted to have more ownership of the guest experiences he was creating, so he took to Chicago to see how Booth could help him open his own restaurant. While attending Booth, our guest met his business partner, Hunter Swartz, and the two quickly realized that their shared background in endurance sports mixed with complementary work experiences could build something remarkable. He then joined the Eastman Egg team in January 2014 and served as COO for three years where in his time there, the company grew to four operating units and grew its revenues and team each by a factor of 10. And now he is also the author of the latest book to fly off the shelves with “What I Learned Before 30 – a biographical look that captures some of the best, and worst, moments of his life. As it says in the intro “I feel like i’ve finally learned that growing up to have different perspective than my parents was not a failure; it was the whole point. I cant wait to use the next 30 years to celebrate what makes us different, rather than resent it, and enjoy what a diverse, unique and wonderful family we are” So, said in another way, he has found the path in life that is the right one for him...creating startup guides for people to follow, and although others may not understand it makes no difference. And that is where we should all be, walking boldly into our own future and not one that has been constructed by the idealism of anyone else. So will there be a what I learned before sixty book coming up, and does he feel that mistakes are the true gift in life? And what does he enjoy doing most in his life, as he certainly has many things per day that could take up his time? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only startup man, Mr Drew Davis.
