Welcome To The #1 Global Hit Podcast Join Up Dots

Dec 29, 2017

Starting a Business, Starting To Make Money, Starting The Dream - Its All Here Today

Today's show is almost the last one for 2017 and has a few varied and excellent questions from listeners across the world. This is the kind of stuff that really makes hosting a show like Join Up Dots a total delight to host. But the first question, is more of a review of the show, and an amazing insight to the vision that is the show and what we hope it all to become in the future. A great year is almost finished. 2017 has become a changing point for me. Here is my short story. I grew up in Ukraine but I’ve been dreaming to go abroad all my life. I thought about UK. I hadn’t gone to UK, but last year I came to Dubai. It was great event for me. I had worked for one year in the hotel and changed my job then. I worked in sales in Ukraine and I found same job here in Dubai. Now I am working in sales department of a big Real Estate Developer company. The interesting fact. My manager is an amazing British woman. And some brokers whom I work with, are British too. Some of them live in Dubai and work here, some of them live in UK but we are cooperating. It’s a quite interesting, isn’t it? I feel like all the dots started connecting and only now I can understand what Steve Jobs said in his speech in 2005 in Harvard. It’s true, we can’t connect the dots looking forward, we can only connect them looking backwards. But I want to say thanks to one more British person that I’ve met. This person is David Ralph. I’ve found his podcast recently and I listen to it every day, 2-3 episodes a day. He is doing a great job. He is really connecting the dots, all those dots between the people from different countries all over the world. And these amazing people are sharing their life experience in David’s program. I’d like to say thank you, David. I love your program! Merry Christmas to you and whole your family! Question Two Hello David and Join Up Dots, I have recently seen your page when it shares how you monetize Join Up Dots, which is great. This has led me to want to ask two questions if you would be so kind. Firstly, I see that you have a automobile business listed. Is this your business, or are you are partner? And secondly, I see a lot of people share their income statements on their websites. Why do you think they do this, and have you ever considered this to be something that you would like to do too?  - Adler Ling, Shanghai, China Question Three Join Up Dots Rocks - I listen everyday and tell all my colleagues to listen too. Your show is not like any other that I have heard. What is your favourite episode you have recorded - Osil Harket, Norwary Question Four Thanks for creating such a wonderful podcast. I came across it 2-3 weeks ago and love listening to many of your past episodes. I have been wanting to create an online business since around 2005. I think I first got the bug after listening to Tim Ferriss's audiobook of the 4 Hour work week. I also was listening to Internet business mastery, which then lead me to Pat Flynns podcast. My challenges are: How to really get started, which idea of my many I should go with, over coming my fear of failing. Maybe it's low self confidence, but I feel that I have failed at a lot of things in life and so I am or was afraid to really try to build an online business. I don't want to fail on my "dream". One thing that I dislike about other podcasts is that the  host eventually begins to self promote their products and courses and start sharing less and less of how or what to do. I feel that you don't  do this. So thank you. Other than wanting to ask you for help on being a mentor and getting me on the right path, I'd like to know how long was it from the time you thought about leaving your job to actually sending out your first podcast? What exactly were you doing? How did you know what you needed to do to set up your podcast? Did you set up a website before or after? If I were to do the same as you, what kind of costs would I be looking at to get started? You talk about all the hours and hard work that went into getting things going. What did those times look like, what were you doing? Last question, what's your favourite thing for breakfast? Thanks again for creating Join Up Dots, it's really inspired me to start taking action. PS. some of the buttons on your site are broken or not set up, fyi. Ryan.
