On today’s episode of Join Up Dots we answer a series of listeners questions in the only way that we know how…..mad for business fun. So lets start with question one….. Question One: Hi David, I am struggling to define what being successful means to me? Im sure most people would say money, but I think I would be ok with hardly any money. So where should I channel my energies into if I dont want a lot to be happy? Elaine Mortimer, Glasgow Question Two: Hi David, I have been listening to Join Up Dots since the beginning and this is the first time I have connected with you. I would love to know how you started the podcast, as I am seeing more and more people are starting and was wondering how easy (and I bet you will say hard) it was and is….thanks for the a simply brilliant show Daryl Minard, Arkansas. Question Three: You, Mr Ralph, love what you are doing my man. I found your show recently after listening to your hilarious performance on Greg Barths podcast. Great job man. I had a smile on my face for the whole day. I am thinking of getting involved in a network marketing scheme and I wonder if you had any advice for me how to start. Thanks buddy and the beers are on me. Indigo Canata, Brazil. Question Four: Good morning David Ralph and the Join Up Dots team. Looking back over the hundreds of shows that you have recorded, do you see similar learnings that the guests have gained. I have listened to over 20 shows in the last two weeks, and it seems to be persistence is the key to everything. But surely, it cant just be keepin on going until you succeed or everyone would do that? Thank you for the amazing content, you make my very boring job a pleasure to go to, as I can listen to your show secretly Gemma Lyons, Toronto. Question Five: Hello David, quick question. If you could go back in time and do something differently in Join Up Dots what would it be? Archie Twinner, Brisbane, Australia.

How Do You Spin Farming Today Into A Multi-Million Dollar Business?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who has created something very different to every other guest we have had on the show before. From a farm in Canada, she has created a multi million dollar brand stopping men and boy from stinking. Yep, I kid you not…80% of her marketing plan is based around the hygiene habits of the male population…which we will get into on the show. But most impressively for me is how before we even talk she has joined up her dots to where she is today. So ready to have a quick run through of the dots? Well here we go. At 10, my father crushed my dreams of one day becoming a writer and pilot. At 12, we fled from Canada to Florida when my father was arrested for organized crime. At 16, my brother was killed by a drunk driver. At 17, I joined the US Coast Guard to chase druggies. (Like my father.) At 18, my father went to maximum security prison. (He got off the first time.) At 21, I was kicked out of the Coast Guard because I was Canadian. At 22, I married a Special Forces Green Beret (trained killer). At 35, I left my husband (who was abusive), penniless with no resume, 2 daughters and a dog. At 35, I took a job selling cars. At 37, I began to study the art of screenwriting to save me from the mind-numbing boredom of selling cars. At 37, I won an international film festival, and went on to write another award-winning script. Earned no money, however. At 43, I quit my $130,000 yr job working for a tyrant and took nine months off to sit in the woods by a river and think about life. At 45, I met the love of my life. (The Brit, of course.) At 46, I earned my pilot’s license and fly a float plane in the Canadian bush. At 49, I started a bath and beauty gift company which has become a multi-million dollar brand. And that is the perfect place to start todays story. How do you live a life like that and end up creating a company from a rural farm, that ends up being pitched on Dragons Dens? And when did she realise that this was what she had been building up to throughout her life? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Leslie Bradford-Scott Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Leslie Bradford-Scott such as: How you can find a gap in a saturated market and position yourself where people will see you. How the offline way of marketing can be equally as powerful as doing things online. Get out from behind the PC and make real connections. The reasons why she made an appearance on Dragons Den, and what it did for her business. and lastly…. How she uses near to the mark humour on her products, which works so well with her perfect avatar.

Wellness Coaching Starts From Within As Ed Pike Shares In Todays Episode

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazing story of finding his thing, starting from a point that would have seemed the end just a decade or so before. Starting his professional journey after leaving the University of Bath, with a degree in International Management and Spanish, he first steps seem almost usual. He gained his qualification and then started working for a huge organisation, in this case The Hilton, where he worked on their online presence, increasing sales by over 100% Then, it seems to me the first dot appeared and he started focusing in on other peoples development, this time in the health industry as a Personal Trainer for LA Fitness. Did this spark the fires of his later entrepreneurial ventures, who knows. but one thing for sure the mind and body vibe started to become more and more evident. Leading to him in 2013 starting his own Life & Health Mentor Programme, run from his home base in Crete, and performed over skype and in person across the world. As he says "I’ve experienced loneliness, pain and destructiveness - in fact I still do at times. I'm far from perfect: I’ve tried to deny my negativity, shame, fear and anger, but have learnt that true strength and power lie in deep vulnerability.  After my diagnosis with HIV in 2009, I even felt life closing in on me. But, through all of the pain, I stayed true to my inner voice. And so I pulled through, faced my demons and aligned with the authentic and creative spirit within - and rediscovered the magical adventure that is life! And that is what he brings to the world, the ability to understand that its the dark times, that make the light seem brighter than ever. Its the hardships that give us the coping skills to build a future better than we could ever hope for? So when he was diagnosed with HIV, did he think it was a life sentence that he had been given, or just something else to add to his story? And where do people go wrong, living in the past, the future, or simply not truly living at all? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Ed Pike Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ed Pike such as: Ed shares how feelings are such a powerful way of directing your future to where it was born to be. Be quiet and get directed by whats inside of you. How we all have a calling to adventure, and why sometimes we need a jolt from the blue to really make us take notice. Ed shares how he landed his first clients, and the work he took to get his business off the ground, through word of mouth referrals. and lastly…. Why the barter system of the exchange of services is such an amazing way to begin a business. Its not always about the money.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazingly unusual road to where he is today. Not least, as I discovered that his first job was a gravedigger at a Pet Cemetery, digging graves for Fido and Felix, and many other beloved pets who had used up their extended lifelines. But certainly his career might have seen dead and buried, but in fact it was just one of the big dots that has lead him to where he is today. Digging around the internet, spying on the competition and bringing the five steps of lead generation to life for his clients As the founder of Digital Agency School and the CEO of the marketing agency GoBeyond SEO, he believes that there are five stages that all businesses need if they want to floruish in their markets 1. Identify your ideal client 2. Research what works in your market (i.e. “spy” on your competition) 3. Craft a converting message and foot in the door offer 4. Build a funnel you can leverage 5. Analyze the data and optimize And this systems appears to be working wonders, as even though he started his agency with no experience, no marketing education or any connections in the industry he is certainly rocking and rolling. Now he wants to help other marketers launch their own agencies so they can build their ideal career & lifestyle and I suppose legacy. And isn't that what life is all about, helping as many people as you can to get their dream, and in the process getting your own one as a result. So how did he start something if he had no experience in it, and still make it a success? And does he look back at the time when he used to read the newspaper over the radio to blind people as useful in anyway to where he is now? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brian Saemann Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brian Saemann such as: Why the skill of anti-selling is such a powerful concept in business...and what is that? Quite simply the more that we tell someone that they can't have it the more they will want it. Brian tells how he had to work two jobs for a year and a half until he had the money and structure to start his new business (even after being pushed by his wife) Why Brian feels that all businesses, especially in the beginning should thrive on old school marketing techniques as these are so much easier to understand and will make money quicker. and lastly…. Brian shares the mistakes he has made both financially and timewise, which although disappointing, have led him to where he is today.

I have been thinking a lot recently about what makes something truly motivational and inspires us to do amazing things in our life. When other things just leave us flat, and feeling i guess....anything close to motivational. It's a strange thing to think about as you don't do you, you just to let yourself get carried a long by the motivation without ever considering why. Well it's my view that true motivation comes from within, and the feeling of seeing something motivational and exclaiming "That is amazingly motivational" means one thing. The images, or stimuli actually come to us, due to it tapping into something that makes us who we are. Our core strengths. Recently, the movie The Greatest Showman, has been going gangbusters across the world. Which is where the story of PT Barnum the American Showman is brought to life by Australian actor Hugh Jackman. In the film the struggling entrepreneur is unable to find his thing in life before deciding and going after the thing that lit him up inside. He was excited by his vision. He was inspired by the opportunities that he could see would come his way.  He had found something that would play to his key strengths and so was motivational to him. So do you know what your key strengths are in life? Do you know where you are heading? Do you know why something's knocks you off your feet and makes you feel amazing, whilst other quite simply leave you feeling flat? If you haven't, then you are holding yourself back to a future that is stimulating and exciting everyday of the week. And that is pure motivation.....the kind of power that is already in you.

How To Become A Success Coach And Change Peoples Lives

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who believes that the work life balance is something we should go after. After over 40 years of owning and operating his own businesses, he is keenly aware of the challenges facing small business owners. In his 40 years of diverse experience in business, he founded a commodity trading company, a real estate brokerage and assembled investment groups that raised millions of dollars to buy minor league baseball and basketball franchises. Much like other entrepreneurs and business owners, he has lost sleep over meeting/missing payroll, struggled to repair a (self-inflicted) damaged culture, and experienced the extreme highs and lows that come with the territory. And through the hardship and the ups and downs he found a better way of operating, and things are very different today. Now he is a business coach and expert in corporate culture and strategy and through his coaching practice, The Accountability Factor, he helps businesses increase revenue and productivity, and manage relationships and collaborations while living harmonious lives. He also leads MasterCoach Forum, a mastermind for elite coaches committed to accountability, collaboration, community, and business growth. So how did he find his place after such a diverse career? And are there commonalities that he has developed throughout that has led him to the right place? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Tom Rubens. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Tom Rubens such as: Tom shares how he feels that the middle classes in America are being lost, and instead being replaced by the have’s and have’s not. Tom reveals how he took steps to self-sabotage his business, even though it was the greatest thing ins his life at that time. We reveal how the true path to someones future is always with us. We dont have to go far, we just have to start within our heart. and lastly…. We discuss how the world of business can operate in a state of harmony, as long as you go actively looking for that harmony.

Remote Working Is All The Rage...But Does It Really Work?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the Co founder and CEO of SimpleTiger, a boutique digital marketing agency that specializes in SEO for entrepreneurs. For 11 years, he has helped companies like Segment.com, Shopify, NBC, MTV, E*Trade, LG, and Sports Illustrated see significant gains in their search results, organic traffic, and revenue. During his time growing SimpleTiger, he has seen firsthand how clients have been unnecessarily burned by other agencies in the past or confused by misleading SEO strategies. He believes that The SEO industry is plagued with a lot of smoke and mirrors, black hat techniques, and a lack of transparency. Jeremiah’s mission is to open up about what many other SEO marketers and agencies won’t share-the practices and frameworks that actually work. Why share this? Because transparency is much needed in an industry where sharing is typically frowned upon. But at his core, he is a maverick.  As he says "I'm an entrepreneur attracted to rogue thinkers who go against the status quo. I like businesses that run lean, effective operations and drive high results and low hype. I like 37Signals, The 4 Hour Work Week, PR 20/20 and folks like them who go against the grain of their respective industries and wind up making something awesome. I never fit in during school and the corporate rat race wasn't a good fit for me either. I've found my place among other rogues as an entrepreneur and I couldn't feel more blessed to be where I am now." So what is it about pltting his own course that excites him most? And is SEO still something alive and kicking or are we in the world of video and audio now? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jeremiah Smith Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jeremiah Smith  such as: Why SEO at its core is a revers engineer of a search engine. What do the engines want? Lets go and give it to them. Jeremiah shares how he increased the profits of a business by two million dollars, and was blown away that this was purely down to his SEO strategies. We discuss the power of allowing staff to follow the remote working practice and  and lastly…. Jeremiah shares how we always wanted the freedom and controls to manage his own life...which meant the entrepreneurial life was

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who you might mistake for Superwoman and if you do, you won’t be alone. She is regularly featured on television news segments, inside major blogs and publications, and on podcasts from all over the globe. She’s an accomplished Success Coach, Speaker, host of the Maximize Your Strengths podcast, as well as published Author of the hot new book; From Frustrated to Frickin’ Awesome: 4 Steps to Achieve the Success You’re Wired For. But more than anything else she’s an exceedingly proud wife and mother of two, who loves helping others discover how to make their businesses and relationships thrive in harmony. But this was as far from her starting point as you can possibly imagine. Graduating from St Catherine University with a post baccalaureate certificate in Nursing, she entered into the medical profession as a Clinical Dietitian and Registered Nurse before a four year stint as a beauty consultant for Mary Kay So from my viewpoint, she has always had a nurturing side to her character, wanting people to look and feel as good as they can right from the outset. And so you can see that where she is now, is as far away as she could be, but also very similar in concept, she has found a way to maximise her strengths, provide more value to the world and enjoy herself in the process. As she says “While I’ve always been interested in self-development, in the last 9 years, I dove into investment in my training, self-improvement, and coaching. In addition to classroom style learning, I’ve gained valuable knowledge from seminars, home-coaching programs, group-coaching programs, one-on-one coaching relationships, books, self-study, and real-life successes and failures. My clients benefit from all of that education and experience wrapped into one business coach!” So people you find what you want to do naturally, your unique strength, up-skill yourself and then solve the problems of others in that area. Seems simple doesn’t it? So if this is the blueprint for success, why do so many people struggle with finding their way through the pain and scarcity to make a success of their lives? And when was the moment when she sat bolt upright in bed and screamed “Erueeerka I know what I should be doing in my life!!” Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Alissa Daire Nelson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Alissa Daire Nelson such as: Why getting to know yourself is so vitally important if you ever want to be the greatest version of yourself that you can possibly be. Why Alissa feels that there is always another devil in another level and it doesnt matter where you are on the jounrey there are scary times ahead. Why masterminds are so uber powerful and an extremely cost effective way to keep you on track and focused on the right results. and lastly…. Why stability in ones life is so familiar and comfortable, and why all entrepreneurs have moments of thinking “Wouldn’t it be easier just to get a job?”

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is Startup Expert Warren Hogarth, who shares his tips for startup mastery

He is passionate about the way we think and manage our money. In 2016 he launched Empower Finance based on the belief that all people deserve access to expert financial advice (and it should be available for free). Instead of going to some dusty old office, with an old guy in a grey suit telling you to stick everything in bonds or shares, you deal directly with your own financial advisor working for you 24 hours a day. As he says “We were fed up with banks and traditional “advisors” so we built Empower to be your independent, trusted financial advocate. Empower helps you stay on top of your finances, get objective, personalized recommendations to make your money go further, and discover and save hundreds of dollars per year. Check account balances & track your spending, Automatically save to build wealth or pay down credit debt, Find a high-interest savings account, Manage bills and renegotiate to save (utilities, mobile, security), Review subscriptions you’re paying for and many more things too! Now you maybe saying “Why is it free?” and isn’t that the quickest way for a company to go bust with all our financial information? Well for most people that might be the case, but today’s guest has helped 3 companies go from $0 to $1 billion, and he’s seen other companies go to $0 (after looking promising initially). Growing up in rural Australia, he studied engineering, and ended up as 1 of 8 Venture Partners at Sequoia. They’ve invested in companies like Square, Uber, WhatsApp, and AirBnB, and he stood shoulder to shoulder with founders to build large, enduring businesses (3 went from zero to over $1 billion). As he says “There’s no guarantees in startups, but I have a lot of lessons learned on how to approach starting and growing a company” which I am bringing into Empower Finance everyday. So when did the idea to go it alone come to him? Was it overnight or bubbling under the surface for many years? And what is the biggest failing that people make when undertaking a startup? Lack of capital of lack of commitment? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Warren Hogarth Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Warren Hogarth such as: Warren shares the number one reason for a startup to fail, and you might be interested that it is rarely down to capital. Why a company is generally always going to go through a pivot to find it’s true life calling. Not many companies get it right the first time. Warren shares that moment where he knew that he was on the wrong path, and the steps he took to get onto the right one. and lastly…. Why it is so important to start a business in a market where there are great tailwinds now and the next ten years. Baseball Genius Jesse Cole, Shows How He Is Changing Baseball Forever

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is bold, crazy, inspired, committed and having the time of his life. He is the owner of two baseball teams that are quite frankly doing things a bit differently, and the world is taking note – Big Time He is the founder of Fans First Entertainment, which operates the Gastonia Grizzlies and the Savannah Bananas, and also a keynote speaker, and host of the Business Done Differently Podcast. Which is a boring way of telling you what he does, to be honest. He has taken a countries passion for baseball and turned it on its head, by creating an experience not just about what is happening (or is not happening on the pitch) but what is happening everywhere. He joined the industry in 2008 as General Manager of the Gastonia Grizzlies. It was here that he started providing a circus-like atmosphere at his ballparks. From dancing players, Grandma Beauty Pageants, and Flatulence Fun Nights to porta-john giveaways and garbage can nachos, he has tried it all The “show” worked and the Grizzlies began breaking attendance records annually. In 2014, he bought the Grizzlies and started Fans First Entertainment with his then-fiancé and Grizzlies Director of Fun, Emily. In 2015, the two of them then started a new Coastal Plain League team in Savannah, GA. It was announced on February 25, 2016 that the team would be named the Savannah Bananas. From there, the team quickly became a hit all over the country, in part thanks to coverage from national media outlets, including ESPN, CNN, and Good Morning America. Merchandise sold to all 50 states and 6 countries. In the first year, the team sold out 18 of 25 games and broke the attendance record for both Grayson Stadium and the Coastal Plain League. To top it off, the Bananas won the Coastal Plain League Championship. As he says he “I am just getting started”. His teams are continually reinventing as they look to change the baseball industry and the entertainment experience for fans. So how has he managed to stand firm against a world of conformity and create something new and exciting? And did he ever have the huge doubts that a new way should not be his way in future? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jesse Cole Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jesse Cole such as: How he managed to break down not only the barriers around him but also the barriers in his own mind, which allowed him to do the unthinkable What he did to grow his team, and find the right people that bought in his vision of where he wanted to head. Why Jesse can see clearly that although the timing wasnt perfect when he joined the Grizzlies, in fact it was in fact the perfect time. The truth that anyone who starts something can see. and lastly…. Why he connected with Barack Obama and offered an internship at the Baseball ground, much to the amusement of himself and his team.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who is fascinated with video and the power of adding this to your marketing strategies As he says "There’s a ton of noise on the internet. Love it or hate it, the worst thing you can do is never be a part of it. I don’t know about you, but I love cartoons. I’ve always been an animation nerd. When I started RK we never knew online video would get SO big - but it’s exceeded even our expectations. I help businesses connect with their prospects and grow conversions with the help of strategic animation video marketing so that the prospects convert into raving fans and buy from you even if they haven't heard of you before. A magnetic video hits all the pain points of our target audience while visually engaging them, which helps our clients increase their conversions beyond 20% (industry average). They do this they implement Behavioural Lead Journey, which means they create and place animation videos along the entire marketing funnels. Converting cold prospects into raving fans while solidifying the bond with existing customers. But of course this is just part of his journey as before he took the lead and started creating his own future, our guest worked for Daimler, the car manufacturer in their finance division. So how did he go from working for Daimler o creating his own business that is rocking and rolling? And where did he find the problems waiting for him, as he grew his empire. On every corner, or simply never appearing? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start Joining Up Dots with the one and only Rohan Kale. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Rohan Kale such as: Rohan shares how people make mistakes time and time again in their video marketing, and how easy it is to ensure that these never happen.  We discuss a brilliant way of starting a business, by hiring a freelancer to teach us the knowledge that we need, whilst bringing in clients quickly Rohan openly reveals how he used to hate the wasted time that he experienced in his cooperate life as an employee. Something that most of us can relate to. and lastly…. Why Rohan has changed his branding from a business to personal one and the difference it has made to his business.

Hustle and the early startup are reviewed in todays show

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has worked so hard to where he is today, he has more lessons learned before the age of 30 than most people aged…well 30. He is proof that hard-work and determination pay off’s as he climbed the ladder of the restaurant industry as many do: with a great deal of empathy, a little bit of luck, and a massive amount of overconfidence. After graduating from Harvard in 2009, he worked his way up from being a busboy in Boston to being a beverage director for Momofuku in New York City, where he managed the buying, pricing, and selling of wine, beer, and spirits for the restaurant. Through living through this experience, he decided that he wanted to have more ownership of the guest experiences he was creating, so he took to Chicago to see how Booth could help him open his own restaurant. While attending Booth, our guest met his business partner, Hunter Swartz, and the two quickly realized that their shared background in endurance sports mixed with complementary work experiences could build something remarkable. He then joined the Eastman Egg team in January 2014 and served as COO for three years where in his time there, the company grew to four operating units and grew its revenues and team each by a factor of 10. And now he is also the author of the latest book to fly off the shelves with “What I Learned Before 30 – a biographical look that captures some of the best, and worst, moments of his life. As it says in the intro “I feel like i’ve finally learned that growing up to have different perspective than my parents was not a failure; it was the whole point. I cant wait to use the next 30 years to celebrate what makes us different, rather than resent it, and enjoy what a diverse, unique and wonderful family we are” So, said in another way, he has found the path in life that is the right one for him, and although others may not understand it makes no difference. And that is where we should all be, walking boldly into our own future and not one that has been constructed by the idealism of anyone else. So will there be a what I learned before sixty book coming up, and does he feel that mistakes are the true gift in life? And what does he enjoy doing most in his life, as he certainly has many things per day that could take up his time? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Drew Davis.

Welcome to today's episode of the Join Up Dots, where we look at the real secrets to success as demonstrated  by real life listeners of Join Up Dots coaching programme. Through the show we are going to bring you the big learnings that our listeners revealed they have learnt through the last four years. And why did we ask that question? Well on the 19th February 2018 it was four years since the first stages of Join Up Dots occured. That was the day when I sat and bought the URL for Join Up Dots and the show started. Mike Buckerfield Obsession with all the wrong things. Generally negative attitude. Combining those two in order to procrastinate and slow progress. Still haven’t mastered these issues yet but I am improving. Big week for us ahead and I expect to make real strides in next few weeks. Happy Birthday Join Up Dots. I was exposed to severe trauma that lasted several months where there was little to nothing I could do about the source of trauma and this resulted in PTSD symptoms and a lot of weight gain. I'm thankful that I survived the harm inflicted and am working at resolving the weight issue. Eugene Sarigumba Spending too much time learning to build a website. Should have hired someone sooner. Allowing myself to get too comfortable and forgetting my dream. Thanks for all the great podcasts David!! Steve Reza Looking back the past 4 years, I would have focused more on who I am rather than who I thought I should be. I’m realizing that I am an entrepreneur and that’s why I see things differently than most people I come into contact with. But most people in my world just want the typical things —climb the corporate ladder, then settle down into a comfortable retirement —-BORING! I want to “fly.” Anett Gobolos Happpyyy Bday, JUD!!! Actually it is indeed life changing for me as well.. I always new I wanted stg different from the regular full-time corporate jobs but I didn’t see clearly the other path. It was so unknown and scary. I’m not this lonely warrior and I have been looking for such a community for a while. Beth Dickens Happy birthday Join up dots!! I think for me David, I find it hard to know what I’d of done differently. I feel like it’s all happened for a reason which is why I’m where I am today! I somewhat wish I hadn’t took my teacher training and wasted a year of my life becoming a teacher when that is not what I wanted to do (my parents are both teachers) and I fell into the easy copy your parents trap. But I wouldn’t have travelled to Kuwait and lived there or met my boyfriend who I now live in Boston with. It all happens for a reason! I regret nothing Karen Dimmick Happy birthday JUD! It's a tough question because if I hadn't done what I'd done in the past, I wouldn't have learned what I did.... given that though, I wish I'd narrowed my target market and started writing books for them earlier than I did. Benjamin Lively Happy birthday, Join Up Dots! During the past four years, I’ve spent my mental state trying to accomplish greater positions and pay in the corporate world, believing that I as the way to climb to the top but have been miserable just about everyday. Looking back, I should have (and now do) realized that I have a lot more to offer the world than I’m providing to the individual companies I’m working for. I have been boxing myself in thinking, this is as good as it gets. In all actually, it doesn’t get any worse! Once I realized that the reason these companies pay me a great salary was because they could use me to 20x their revenue and allow me to continue working for THEIR dream. Now, I realize there is no glass ceiling and that what I can do for them, I can certainly do for many, many others. I’ll be much happier and free and a lot more financially independent than ever before. I’ve realized that I have only been using ~40% of my total potential. Time to kick life in the balls and go after all my dreams. Fran Johnson McKay Happy birthday JUD. Thank you David for daring to start! What would I change? I’d trust the dots are leading me where I need to go. It’s not a straight line and it doesn’t always make sense but there is purpose for each one. I also wish I’d focused more on living in the present and on my family. It’s hard to get the balance right. I have a high achievement drive and it’s important that I keep it in check. Big Dreams and Big Family (I have a husband, 5 kids - only 1 still at home, 1 foster daughter, and 2 grand babies) so it’s not easy for me to balance. I’m getting better though and working less hours. Thanks again David! Gemma Louise Coleman Happy bday JUD!  For me, I would have used my maternity leave more effectively and spent the time getting to know my real passions and what motivates me so i could create a business instead of going back to the daily grind & into another corporate role. I’ve been back at work for 12 months now and although my plan is to leave this year it’s much harder to get out of the ‘a regular job is safe & secure’ mindset whilst I’m there. I’m working hard on that though and plan to be out of there by July! Show Highlights So let's summarise you the Real Secrets To Success as mentioned on the show Make Sure You Have A Positive Mindset Focus In On Your Physical Wellbeing Delegate The Things That You Can't Do To Someone Else. Erica Mandy Showing The World How To Be Truly News Worthy

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who started on a career path that the world would say was sexy, and then deciding it wasn't for her and going a totally different direction. Leaving the Indiana University Bloomington, and the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in Journalism, our guest spent the last decade -- on TV, radio and online -- reporting news and sharing stories around the country. First working for Newsy, an over-the-top news network that provides "news with the why," built to inform and engage by delivering today's top stories across platforms. Its content is available in on-demand and to Los Angeles CBS News, where she would report national and local news for the second largest news market in the country.  As a TV news reporter, she was live on the scene during terrorist attacks, wildfires and federal court rulings, to name a few. She's interviewed politicians, CEOs, experts, and everyday people doing extraordinary things and it seemed that she was loving every second. So what was going on internally to make her quit her job as a Los Angeles TV news reporter to launch theNewsWorthy: a daily roundup of politics, tech, business and entertainment Which she says "Makes it faster, easier and way more fun to get all the news you need to know. Listen on-the-go in less than 10 minutes, Monday through Friday." Is this an inspired move into a world that consumes information when and where they want it? Or has she taken on a world that is already dealing with tsunami of information and now zoning out? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Erica Mandy Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Erica Mandy such as: Erica shares how all her hard work and experience over the last decade has left her with the skills to progress to where she wants to be. No experience is ever wasted no matter what you may think at the time. We discuss that moment in your life when you realise that your business is actually a nuisance and there are things you just have to do away from work. Erica reveals that she has given herself a year to see what she can make of her new venture, safe in the knowledge that she can always get a job if needed. We dont have to end in despair, but we do need something to give us the courage to move forward with. and lastly…. Why Donald Trump's fake news is such big news at the moment, and how the world feels about such reporting.

Can Business Success Occur Without Niching Down?

Does Being In A Niche Really Matter, Do?

Well todays guest on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is a former legal professional, who left the legal world 6 years ago to pursue her dream of starting her own business. And it seems to me that the services she provides are as varied as they could possible be, so who is she targeting?

As she says “If you would have dared to tell me 10 years ago that after attending Law School, I was not going to practice law, I would have laughed you out of the room! However, in my late 20s I had experienced a reawakening that opened my eyes to the startling reality that people all around me (myself included) were yearning for something more. This was a truth that resonated with me so deeply that I could not turn away from it. I took a deep breath and turned the light of truth on myself. I realized that I wanted more money, freedom, direction. I wanted to know that I was making an impact in peoples lives. Ultimately, I wanted to be SUCCESSFUL, and I wanted to help others be successful too.” And now with retreats, coaching sessions, and more and more people finding financial and emotional success, it certainly seems that she has found the business that is right for her. So why did she go to law school, when it seems evident that the right business is now, and not what she was focused on as a young lady? And is there a major mistake that she sees the world making, as they leave education and step into a world that is under their control? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Awilda Rivera. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Awilda Rivera such as: Why happiness will always be fleeting if we attach happiness to external influences. Happiness always comes from within and nowhere else. Awilda talks openly about the hardship that it takes to grow a business, but why the struggle is so important. Awilda shares how she has diversified into several different areas, and the reason why she has done that. and lastly…. Todd Herman left an impression on Awilda that really stuck home “Busy doesn’t mean productive”. If you can get things off your plate by hiring someone, then do it.

How Do create A Business By Selling On Amazon?

Well The Amazon Selling King Shows How

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who without a doubt can call himself a serial entrepreneur. He has built several multi-million dollar companies in both Australia and the United States, and really doesn’t look like he is slowing down in the regard to creating his own destiny. In 2005 he co-founded one of the first crowdfunding platforms in the world which went on to raise in excess of $100M dollars for start-ups and early stage businesses. He currently owns a cloud software business, an Amazon review company (based in Florida), a home-wares company that sells its products exclusively through Amazon into 8 countries, and Reliable Education. None of his companies have outside investors and all are profitable. But what is super interesting to me is how he has created businesses in environments that we all hang around in, and almost take for granted. Such as in 2012, he learned about the opportunity to sell on Amazon through a friend. Now like all of us, he was used to seeing Amazon boxes all over town and he was a big user of Amazon himself. But it wasn’t until he took a course that he learned that anybody could sell on Amazon, and that Amazon would handle all of the warehousing and shipping for him. Once he understood that, he soon launched his own brand which now sells in 8 Amazon marketplaces around the world. So how does he see these things, when so many people will just walk past them time and time again and never think “Wow what an opportunity!”? And does he feel that anyone can do these kind of things, or to become a serial entrepreneur, do you require special talents and skills that are god given at birth? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Adam Hudson.

In todays episode we answer a few questions from listeners of the show. These are the shows that we simply adore doing, as it shows us that people are starting to take notice and realise that they can create their own lives. And that is of course the theme behind everyone of our shows. Well in todays we show, we discuss affiliate marketing and how to get into a state of flow. You know that state of being when you lose track of time, and find that whatever you do comes out brilliantly? The state that is just amazing and makes us feel like we are no longer attached to this world? Well, Bruce Fortenberry from Georgia Atlanta asked us our views about how we manage to get into that mental condition so we decided we would answer live on the show. But before that lets start with a question from a lovely lady called Bree Nicole who asked us: Hello! I just listened to your podcast on extra money and your Florida keys website and got super inspired! I’ll be living on the road in the US and want to design a site. Can you give me a little more information on affiliate marketing? How does it work with restaurants, attractions, museums and all that? Do I contact them directly? What should I start with when getting these things and places on my site to make money? Thank you! Any tips would be great! So that is what we talk about on the show. How to make money by directing traffic across to affiliate links to make some cash whilst we sleep and then we answer another question or at least give our point our view on. This was from Bruce who we mentioned earlier Hello there, I wanted to thank you for your podcast. I recently discovered your podcast and it’s extremely motivating. Your very perceptive and it’s eye opening at times. Makes me want to discuss my ideas with you. I’m starting a service Plumbing business in Atlanta, Ga. Calling it “Plumb Ready.” Right now it’s a side hustle. I’ll do residential plumbing repairs / Plumbing Inspections with strong emphasis on educating customer about how to protect their home. I have a great idea for you. If I were you I’d do podcast about the “Flow State” Just a thought. Your show isn’t arrogant or fake. It’s connecting people in an amazing way. Thanks again !! During the show we mentioned the affiliate programme that we offer through the Join Up Dots podcast. If you are interested in this amazing resource or to start podcasting yourself:

Brain Training Starts And Stops With Dana Wilde The Brain Train Expert

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who came into my life like a shot of drug laced expresso and is the kind of person we all need everyday. She is hugely positive, 100% focused on her audience and quite simply carrying around the biggest smile you will ever see in your life. She is a brain trainer, speaker, host, and the bestselling author of Train Your Brain, and with nearly 100,000 followers in 68 countries, she is the go to expert at training brains and changing lives. Now you might be wondering, how do you train a brain? Well when our guest began her direct-sales business, she realized that education for entrepreneurs typically consisted of endless “how-to” explanations: how to market, how to pick up the phone, how to manage your time, how to increase bookings or sales. There always seemed to be a new system to learn, a new surefire method or cutting-edge technique for entrepreneurs to master. In an effort to teach her team members a better and easier way, she instead went a different route and created Train Your Brain, a tested and proven system combining elements of both mindset and action . . . or as she likes to call it, Intentional Action. Using the skills of Train Your Brain you will find that mindset can be “taught” and that learning simple mindset strategies not only allows you to understand how the brain works but also shows you how easy it is to change your thinking and, as a result, change your outcomes. Train Your Brain, with its twenty easy-to-implement “Mindware Experiments,” gives you all the necessary tools needed to get off . . . and stay off . . . the Cycle of Perpetual Sameness, so you can transform your life and grow your business in record time! And believe me I know her quite well, and it is amazing how much she does, how much she achieves and how she remains smiling even when things go a bit off track. When she’s not unraveling the mysteries of the brain, Dana is passionate about helping animals, playing baritone ukulele, practicing Kundalini yoga, and creating raw food dishes. And is a raw food wannabe who can’t shake nachos. So is it as simple as saying, “If we always do what we have always done, then we will always get what we have always got”? And with so much “take Action” advice in the world today, are there any bits that she would grasp to her chest and say “Actually this one is a keeper?” Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Dana Wilde. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Dana Wilde such as: Why she believes that we shouldn’t follow the advice of others who state “Go after the fear” We discuss how the technicalities of building an online business should not stop anyone from getting going. There are tools for everything. Dana reveals why mindset is so powerful and how we can all train ourselves to use this astonishing gift. Dana shares the four step process to retraining your brain starting today. Hugely powerful stuff.

Marketing Tips - How Do You Build A Successful Marketing Campaign

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a guy who first appeared on Join Up Dots way back on episode 107 Back then we spoke about his fascinating journey to where he is today known as The Millionaire Marketing Mentor®, the go-to guy for coaches, consultants, and other successful service professionals who want to attract more clients, convert more high-value sales, build an authority brand, and grow a lifestyle business that makes a bigger impact while generating more income. But life could have been very different, as starting his life in Poland, it was fair to say that he has come a long way since then, both Geographically and financially. Arriving in the United States of America with just $194.00 dollars in his pocket and a sprinkling of English, he set to work with a passion. The entrepreneurial bug has always been a keen element which makes him who he is, so it was with little surprise, but a lot of hard work that he transformed his finances by creating a series of business opportunities around California. First of all he co-owned a collection of bagel shops, and then moved onto running a multi-million dollar business that includes consulting, coaching, training, and information publishing. But there was of course so many stumbles, falls and triumphs between them. Isn’t that what makes a story interesting after all, and of course gives him the knowledge to help his clients and students often double, triple, and even 10x their business - some in as little as 90 days, by teaching them how to transform their limiting, time-intensive businesses into automated money making machines that Attract Clients Like Crazy®. So with his life now rocking and rolling, could he only have got here by going through the roller-coaster that is the entrepreneurial life? And how did he manage to keep going, when things weren't going the way that he wanted? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Adam Urbanski. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Adam Urbanski such as: The best marketing is to find a way of tapping into your natural talents and bringing that to the world. It's not selling, but its making people want to work with you. Adam shares how he has developed his ability to connect with people across the world, and feels that its the empathy which is a key aspect to what he has become. Why the upskilling and grind phase of building is so important, as it shows you how much you truly want to make this business your life. and lastly…. Adam reveals how his mindset has changed over the last few years and the time aspect that comes with freedom is so attractive to him, where money used to be king.

Dream Big With Mitch Matthews And Change Your Life Forever

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who from an early age made big decisions as to how to get what he wanted in life. So many people live a life of reaction. They wait for something to pass them by and then reach out hoping that their fingers might just grab a bit of what they have seen. This is certainly not the case with todays guest, as demonstrated at just age twelve, he set his sights on attaining his first “dream job.” (Working at a local bike shop) So he spent 2 to 4 hours a every day that summer just hanging out, cleaning, and watching. By the end of the summer the bike shop owner (one of our guests heroes) offered him a job. (It was either that or have him arrested for loitering!) And that says so much about where our guest is today, inspiring people to take the actions that will make their dreams big and real. Now this is where it all comes together, as he says in his own words  In 2006, he and his wife were working on one of their own big dreams (launching a product) and they experienced some significant set backs in a very short time. He was tempted to give up and go back to something “safe.” But since this was one of his big dreams, he got the idea that maybe some friends could help. Then he started to think that maybe… just maybe… he could help some of his friends with some of their big dreams too. And bang the 1st BIG Dream Gathering was formed, as on a whim, he invited some friends and family to participate in something he called a “BIG Dream Gathering.”   It was only supposed to last for a few hours but it wound up continuing on for a FULL WEEK! So living a life where you whole aim is to inspire people to take action and dream big, can be so exhausting as every waking second your mind whirrs with the possibilities that abound. So how has he managed to create the life he wants, business he wants, become a top podcaster and still look like he has just left high-school? And what is the number one peice of advice that he gives the world, when asked "How do I start my dream too?" Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mitch Matthews Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Mitch Matthews such as: Mitch shares how he now realizes that he is a recovering perfectionist, and the steps that he takes to get past these mental blocks. We talk about how all of us must learn ways of starting small in a business even if you only have fifteen minutes a day. They all add up to something worthwhile. Why Mitch is such an advocate of resting, and allowing himself to shut down the brain. Ke know what is right for his own body and ensures its part of his calendar. and lastly…. You might find it a surprise that "Being a freak" is classed as a badge of honour by both Mitch and David and the reasons why.

Sports Winners Do The Unusual, And Todays Guest Is Fascinated By Sports And What Makes People Great

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the author of "Where Others Wont" which looks at the recruitment, leadership, culture and performance strategies used in pro sports and how they are relevant to big business. Now this isn't a book based purely on theory, instead our guest has been doing the rounds and spent the last year interviewing people like Denver Broncos GM Ted Sundquist, Southampton president (and former Oilers coach) Ralph Krueger, 2 x World Series winner Ryan Theriot and Utah Jazz coach Igor Kokoskov (among others) to validate some of the ideas he had. Would they agree with his theories or say, probably in an American voice "Get the hell out of here kid!"  Well I guess we will find out during the show. But what I like most about todays guest is, getting himself into a position where he is involved in the disection of sports leadership across the world was never a given. Leaving University with degrees in business and Human Resources, he first entered the world of recruitment in Melbourne Australia, before moving to Canada to enter another world altogether. And through the next decade he worked in seemingly unconnected businesses, that held dots, never to join up to where he is today. We know though that is never the case. And now as the managing Partner for NTSQ Sports Group, he is surrounded by a team specializing in experience creation and marketing in the endurance sports industry. So did he plan to get himself into the position where he is today, or does he look around with a smile and think "Wow, how did this happen?" And what is the biggest learning he has from the crossover from sports to business? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Cody Royle  Books By Cody Royle   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Cody Royle such as: Cody shares how there was no plan towards the future he created, he simply looked at what doors that were opening in front of him and decided which one he wanted to go through. Cody discusses how the top teams across the world are always looking for new ways of gaining a competitive advantage, and more often than not that means looking in areas not connected with sport.  Why all business success is based around building a team which complements your own strengths. It is so important to realise that you cant do it on your own. and lastly…. How he now realises that strengths and talents he had as a young man, were exactly the right ones he needed to be able to step into his future positively. Dont think you have to keep on leaving everything behind you. Take the gold and leave the stuff you dont need.

Being Happy Is So Important, And Todays Guest Is An Expert In Happiness And How To Achieve it

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is someone that should be on the show every single day. If i could pull her away from the sunshine of her home in Spain, and the endless supply of Sangria that is, as she is the Join Up Dots pinup. A lady who believes 100% percent, that if you are living your purpose, doing a job that you love, then many if not all of your problems, health, mental and financial will be a thing of the past. Which as you will see everyday on Join Up Dots is a message that I support wholeheartedly on every episode. She is a positive psychologist, coach and writer, who helps individuals connect with the unique passion and purpose that drives their personal and professional success. As she says "I am fascinated by what propels a person to pursue their vocation, entwining their innate strengths, values and interests to serve both themselves and the rest of the world. I fuse the art of Coaching with the science of Positive Psychology to help individuals gain the clarity, confidence and courage to become all they aspire to be. I also undertake a variety a written projects on the subjects of positive psychology, personal development and coaching. Creative writing has always been a passion of mine, so producing written content on the above mentioned topics is the surest way I evoke a sense of 'flow'." So coming out of the University of East London, with a Master's degree in applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology it would seem that this passion for helping others find their swing was always going to be on the cards. But as we see on Join Up Dots, this is more often than not never the case. So did she know that she would end up living in Barcelona, whilst casting a network across the world to help the world smile and love their lives? And where do people go wrong? Not stopping to ask "Why do i feel like a it rubbish?" or simply not stopping at all. Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Lisa Avery   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Lisa Avery such as: Lisa shares how we should be able to accept our moods and emotional states when they happen without ever suppressing them. Let the energies run free. We discuss how  the majority of companies wont allow their workers to be creative with their strengths and intricacies. Why can't we be unique and bring talents never seen before?       How we should all experiment with trying to strip away the layers that we wrap ourselves in, to find the diamond that is at our core. That gem holds the clues to the rest of our lives. and lastly…. Why people have to realise that happiness cant last forever. We need to find ways of making the first stage of happiness truly deep and fulfilling, and that normally relates to helping others.

Beating Stress Can Become Big Business As Shown In Todays Show

My guest today, on the confidence boosting Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who a few years back was disappointed with the current mental health care solutions he was offered after suffering from stress in the workplace. So like so many guests, he didn't accept what he saw and decided to take action, turning to alternative therapies which got him through and beyond this temporary stress. These solutions began forming into a business idea which led him to creating Stressbox in Jan 2014, and he took these learnings into the corporate environment to help with de-stressing in companies everywhere. As they say "We are an up and coming mental wellness fitness brand with a social purpose to support the epidemic of work related stress. We succeed in this by creating innovative holistic fitness workshops, in-house talks on preventing stress and performing our epic yet different fitness class….StressBox. Our powerful class combines Boxing fitness with Mindfulness all to wonderful music to inspire and enlighten you within our 1 hour experience. We create magic moments in our bespoke classes to suit your busy schedule, at StressBox we understand that time in this hectic world is valuable so we combined Holistic health with musical fitness to have greater impact on your mindset not just your body." To succeed in this new business, he researched stress in society for 2 years via practical innovative coaching and academically using Neuroscience, the science of meditation and positive psychology. And rapidly this knowledge became a cult hit at a popular gym in Birmingham, England with teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and teenagers becoming fanatics with his alternative style. So why if he had an issue with stress did he then decide to build a business around it, and not run to live stress free on a hot tropical island somewhere full of bikini wearing beauties? And is this as a real life issue, or do so many people just use the word as a badge of honour nowadays? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only, Mr Liam Joe Blackwood. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Liam Joe Blackwood such as: Why so many people find themselves in situations in their lives which doesn't naturally match their skills and talents - which can obviously lead to the kind of stress which can be avoided. Why the power of visualisation is such a powerful process in building success in a persons life, and the steps that we should take everyday to bring these visions to life. Liam Joe recalls the battles he overcome in the early days to get his vision out to the world, and the steps he took to get there. Why we should never overthink anything in our lives, but simply look to do the best we can in the most relaxed method possible. That is always the best way. and lastly…. Why Liam Joe allowed himself to feel creative and playful in his life which was a complete gamechanger and turned his life around forever.

Business Marketing Expert Ken Tucker Reveals Why Going Local Can Be A Goldmine

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is a master at taking a clients business and growing it beyond anything they could do on their own. He is the founder of Changescape Web, which focuses on integrated small business marketing solutions in the St. Louis and St. Charles metro area. As they say It’s become something of a cliche to say that people should love what they do, but at Changescape, we really do! Every day presents new challenges and opportunities to meet them. It’s a lot of fun (and very rewarding) to discuss a problem one of our clients is facing, and then developing and implementing a campaign to solve it. Our passion for our work motivates us every day. So what is it about the local community that inspires him greatly, instead of hitting every corner of the world like so many of the entrepreneurs that appear on Join Up Dots? Can You Make Life Changing Decisions When You Are Married With Kids?

Well, my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazing story of taking life by the scruff of the neck and turning full circle to where he wanted to be. As he says "After failing to get much of an education I set up an online business, selling books. This fuelled my passion for all things literary but the business failed. In order to pay the mortgage I started work stacking supermarket shelves at night. During the day I made a career plan to turn things around. In late 2004 I joined the still relatively young online gambling industry, working in a call centre. 5 years later I co-founded a company (which I subsequently sold) and went on to manage operations in the UK, Central and Eastern Europe. From 2013 to 2016 I was CEO of SKS365 Group. I am now a full time consultant, investor & advisor in one or two startups and, more importantly, I am embarking on a career as a writer, writing about mountains and the outdoors. In other words I am following my passion." And this is what makes him the perfect guest for a show like Join Up Dots, as in late 2016 he quit the rat race to redesign his life in a way that was more satisfying, interesting and adventurous both in his personal and professional life. He didn't know how to accomplish the large and vague objective of "living better", although he knew it meant being more entrepreneurial and spending more time outdoors! So he embarked on a career writing about mountains, adventure and his journey of redesigning his life and through his website the Armchair mountaineer he is showing all of us how to take control of our lives. So is it as simple as making a firm decision to do something, even if you haven't got all the dots lined up and doing it? Or did he plan everything out so he could make this the life that he has always wanted, and is so inspiring to the rest of us? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Thomas Smallwood. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Thomas Smallwood such as: How he managed to get the plan in place to be able to transition his life to where he wanted it to be, even if it meant doing stuff that wast part of the plan. Why it is so important to overcome the fear of reaching out to people who are ahead of you in their dream building (ensuring always that you provide value first) Why Thomas believes that you should rarely start anything that you want to make money as a first goal, instead work on the passion and see where it takes you. and lastly…. How no matter where you are in your journey of transition you will be hit by periods of doubt and lack of self confidence. Surround yourself with positive people to hep you through the bad times.

Should I Invest In My Own Business, Or Look For Investors?

Today's episode of Join Up Dots is inspired by a listener who asks a huge question, that plagues so many of us as we begin to create our dream businesses. Do we use our money on a business, or find someone to invest in our business....even if means us losing some equity Should we keep control of what we want in our life, if that means taking it slower (perhaps never getting to where we want to be) Well we were asked this:   My name is Alistair, a Brit who lives in India, and I’m just about to embark on the startup journey for the first time.    For my day job I do a lot of traveling. Today I happened across your podcast, and it made my 6 hour drive across northern India feel like time well spent! First, I’d like to say thank you for doing what you do. The reassurance that there’s so many out there in the same boat, and a friendly voice offering guidance, is invaluable.   I’m from a fairly modest background, never struggling, but comfortable enough. I’m also relatively uneducated, having dropped out of college before completing my A levels. Since then, I’ve been working my way around as an outdoor instructor, which is what led me to India.    I have been developing an app idea for around 8 months, and I’m about to take the plunge and spend the most amount of money I’ve ever had access to. It’s a small amount in the great scheme of things - £15,000 to develop and get the MVP off the ground - but for me, it’s everything.   I often hear the phrase “never invest your own money”, but at the stage I’m at, no-one is going to be queuing up with their cheque book. Neither would I be interested, as they’d want, quite rightly, a great big chunk of equity. So, my question is, which of the following scenarios sounds most sensible?   1 - I head out now, with nothing more than a well developed idea, a bunch of projections and revenue forecast assumptions, and go in search of angel investors to drum up enough money to get the app developed, knowing that I’ll have to give away large amounts of equity   2 - I go as far as I can with the money available - money my mother would rather I spend on bricks and mortar - develop the MVP, and, hopefully, get some real data and a little traction, with which I could back up my proposal to investors further down the line   The second subject that you may have talked about before; I hate asking for money… Perhaps it’s my background, but I dread the thought of asking for tens of thousands and negotiating equity for my little app idea. My boss, a very well educated, well off, Cambridge alumnus, seems to have no qualms about raising half a million, even though I know for a fact he knows as much about his new venture as I do mine. Is asking for money a common concern of your listeners?   Thank you for your time.  Warm Regards, Alistair   And now for the second question of the day, where our listener is doing quite well in his life, but has got to a point where he feels lost.   Should he go back to Mexico, or should he start a business where he is.   Hi. David I will use “Sailor aimlessly” as subject of the message.   Not sure if you read and reply to all messages you get, and I do not want to waste your time, therefore I will go straight to my point:   Until a few months ago I was clear about what I was doing with my professional life, set goals and met them all.   Today I sail aimlessly, have many ideas but I have not been able to land them and define what my next step should be, it is a terrible feeling and the reason why I am looking for help. In case you are interested in my case, find below a summary of my most recent story:   Long story short, I am Mexican living in Ireland for the last 2 years, almost 36 years old, 12 years married and we have 3 beautiful daughters (Valentina, Mikaela & Emma).   Since young age with different ideas, active, impatient; I finished high school and left Mexico to pursue my dream, I wanted to be a professional soccer player; tried it in the USA but it did not work, but I decided to stay as illegal working to raise some money and buy my other dream (a motorcycle – it was later robbed in Mexico).   Soccer helped me finish my studies, got a scholarship in one of the most prestigious private universities in Mexico to play for the institution.   During College, I set the goal of studying abroad and had the opportunity to live in Austria for 6 months doing a Global Business Program at FH Joanneum University.   I come from an entrepreneur family, during my childhood sold cheeses, washed cars, worked in stationers and I was a soccer coach for kids; I started working full time for Mexican government age 22; at the same time I was doing College studies, I was a husband and father of my first kid.   After a while, I decided to quit that job and move into private sector, it was a family business owned by a friend of mine, I knew the salary and benefits were lower but I did not want to make a career in politics; Once I finished my Major in Business Administration (2006), defined that I wanted to work for a global company, maybe it would give me the opportunity to live / work abroad, I wanted to compare how things work outside of my country.   This also became a reality in 2007, since then I have been working for a Global Food company (the last 10 years), I have had the opportunity to live in 3 different countries (Mexico, Brazil and Ireland), I have done different roles within the organization (Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Cost/Pricing, Finance), sometimes company needs, in other occasions it was me looking for new challenges. Couple of years ago (while working) opened a bar with some friends, it did not work and we had to close it; besides the lost money these experience left me many learnings (maybe for a different conversation) … I also invested in the family business, we produce tomatoes in greenhouses,   I have not seen any income from it as we agreed to reinvest and expand/growth the business. A month ago to distract my head and use my time, I download an app and invested few euros, started trading commodities via CFD, I have to admit it is good fun.   I have thought about changing residence again looking for growth within the company, finding a new job, opening a business in Ireland, return to Mexico and diversify the family business. I feel like I'm in a comfort zone, the company I work for gives me stability and a secure income, the questions I've been asking myself are: what do I want, what is next, where should I be, what should I do and when is the right time?   And I have not been able to answer them and set up my plan. I am clear, more money is definitely an important piece but also I want to help others – must likely in Mexico – but I need to find my internal peace first.   Any ideas or advice is welcome. Thank Rodrigo

Travel the world on $12 dollars a day? Dream or reality? Travel expert Will Hatton shows the way

Today’s guest joining us on Join Up Dots, is one of those guys that I love speaking to as when you first research them you think “They are a little bit mad” And then when you see them describe themselves as “An amateur adventurer, digital nomad and travel addict. I like to get muddy, naked and painted.” you think yeah wasn’t far wrong. But what makes this guy fascinating to me, is how very easily he could have been living the normal, humdrum lifestyle of so many of us if he had listened to the words of others. As he says in his own words “I first started backpacking when I was eighteen and was instantly hooked by all the inspiring people I met whilst hitching, camping and couch-surfing around Europe. Since then, I have lived in India for a year, worked on bars in Vietnam, herded goats in the Holy Land and conquered the highest navigable pass in the world armed with a poorly drawn map and a packet of ritz crackers. I have survived knife-point robberies in Nepal, guerrilla encounters in Myanmar, motorbike crashes in Vietnam and numerous other mis-adventures. In 2011, I came back to the UK and settled into a job (much to my parents delight!) working for a travel company; I hoped I had found my true calling! Sadly, I spent almost all of my time behind a desk and so I decided to throw it all in, start this blog, and hit the road. And now with thousands of followers actively consuming the tales of adventure and madness everyday, it seems to me that he has now found his true calling. So what was it about ritz crackers and the life on the open road that so appealed in the early days? And by surviving on just $12 dollars a day for over two years, has this been the key to totally immersing yourself into this thing called Planet Earth, that so many of us rarely truly see? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Will Hatton

How Do You Make An Unsupportive Spouse An Ideal Business Partner?

In today's episode of Join Up Dots we look at what makes an unsupportive spouse one of your biggest flagbearers in your life. You see everyday we talk about starting your own business, but we never really talk about how it will effect the lives of those closest to you. And more often than not it will either financially or emotionally. So what can you do about it to ensure that things go the way that you want? Let's start with our first question, which was posed by email from a gentleman I love your show. I only recently got into podcasts. The interviews and information you provide are really helpful. I do have a suggestion for a show though. Unsupportive spouses. I come from a lower middle income family that has always done side gigs as a way to supplement their income. So entrepreneurship has pretty much always been in our blood. I've been freelancing software development services since 2007. In 2009, I immigrated to Australia without any family or friends and had to close down my business in my home country. I had a permanent position for about a year, when In 2010, I started my own business doing contracting and consulting again. It was a one man show and I did really well but I never made the leap to employ people as I just didn't have the experience or mentor-ship to take me to the next level and I didn't know where to get that support. Especially on how to get more clients. I also started an online store in a niche market and it was really doing well. Then in 2016, I hit a really rough patch. My wife were on paternity leave for about 6 months when my contract ended with a big bank. Unfortunately I didn’t have another client to go to as I was the one doing the contracting as a software engineer. For the next 6 months from June to December, my online store's sales had dried up and no matter how much money I threw at advertising or marketing, I wasn't able to get significant sales. I was unable to land any contracts and going over Christmas with no income was especially stressful. As you can imagine, this caused a lot of stress, fights and money flow problems and almost caused our relationship to fall apart. To add to this, my dad passed away in my home country and we had to fly over for the funeral. My credit cards were maxed out and I fell into depression. It was a really dark time. Then in January 2017, I got a short 6 month contract, but by then, my credibility as an entrepreneur had been crushed in my wife’s eyes and she pleaded with me to get a permanent position. So in June 2017, I landed a permanent position with a company. It's a very good company and I like what I do. It pays the bills, and more importantly, I'm able to pay back my spouse the money she lent me when I was in trouble, but it's not where my heart is. I have all these ideas, all these plans to be an entrepreneur. I want to start more online stores, learning from my mistakes and doing better. I want to create software products and services. I want to do so much more. The problem, however, is that every time I try to bring up the subject to start new online stores on the side, or to finally create that software service that I thought about, again, on the side, my wife just shoots it down and it becomes a shouting match about how I've not accomplished anything for the last 8 years, and that I had no work and no income for 6 months while she was on paternity leave. She also brings up that I'm in my 40's and starting a new business is better left for 20 year olds, how I still owe her money. I'm busy shutting down the online store as it's not bringing in enough sales. To be honest, I know I can't just quit my job at the moment and continue my business, however, I can do it on the side and build up a client base or at least start some online stores to bring in some money. I really need some advice on what to do. I really love my wife and child, and I don't want to disappoint them again. I also believe that working for someone will never make you rich or wealthy. I've tried including her into my plans, asking her for advice and all other advice they suggest on the net, but she still has no confidence in me. Joining with that question we also answered, one from a gentleman called Eugene in America who asked: Hi David. Saying hello from Seattle Washington. First off I just want you say I listen and enjoy your show practically everyday. Lots of great info and motivation. I have to ask though, in your case, if you didn't have that big 'motivational push' - your new manager- do you think you would have still left your job? Another point I'd like to mention is that I noticed a lot of people have a significant other to lean on once they decide to take the leap and quit there jobs. Was your wife working when you made that transition? A little about myself, I'm on the 'fence' right now. Working a 9 to 5 but also doing my passion, discovering the stories behind the people that make up the Pacific Northwest. www.whatsupnorthwest.net So if you have a question or need some support from Join Up Dots, then let us know and we will be happy to respond on a future episode of Join Up Dots.

Tapping with the fingertips on specific meridian endpoints of the body, while focusing on negative emotions or physical sensations, helps to calm the nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body’s balance of energy. But this guy isn’t just about a history based around medical practices as intriguingly he is also a graduate of Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Clown College, where he was selected to be the emcee and a featured performer in the final show under the “Big Top.” :•) So how did a man go from this point to where he is today, helping people around the world overcome financial issues, heath issues and a wide range of symptoms? And is this something that was obvious to him, or did he fall into it like so many of our other guests who has appeared on the show? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brad Yates. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brad Yates such as: Brad shares how 95% of the things that bother us in life will lead to stress, which can be alleviated by practising the tapping technique he teaches. We discuss how he has created a global YouTube following simply by recording a video and then another until there are amazingly 700 plus to view. You have to start somewhere. He recalls how people saw the moment that he left his acting career as a step in the wrong direction. Not many supported him as he began work on his new venture and lastly…. We discuss the abundance that is found in the world today, which allows us all to create similar businesses whilst still creating amazing livings for ourselves. Nothing should stop us starting.

How To Make Real Estate The True Smart Passive Income

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has created huge success for himself almost from the first chance that he could. As he says "I knew from an early age that punching time clocks and working for someone else wasn’t enough for me, which is what drove me into building businesses myself and being my own boss. Living a healthy and active lifestyle has always been important to me, that’s why at the ripe ol’ age of 21, I built my first company that coached clients on effective nutrition and fitness strategies. I began to grow my team and recruited and hired an epic sales team to keep things running smoothly. I ran a successful multi-million dollar company before I was old enough to rent a car. As soon as I realized how profitable real estate investments could be, I bought my first home as an investment. One home quickly became five, and when those five were doing really well, I just couldn’t help but add more. I became obsessed with learning everything that I could about the business. Before I knew it, I had over 50 investment properties that were all performing well and the steady flow of passive income was proof of that. I was passionate and incredibly excited to tell everyone I knew about everything I learned. Today, I dedicate my time to mentoring other entrepreneurs, building my real estate investment portfolio, and helping other investors to build a brighter future through the power of passive real estate income." And now with his colleague Jeff Schechter, he is running the High Return Real Estate programme where they teach their students how to gain high return real estate opportunities that are unavailable elsewhere.   The processes of acquisition, rehabbing, placement of tenants, and management are fully systemized to deliver properties that are well below market pricing, and perform at much higher returns than you could secure through traditional sources. Sounds good doesnt it....but is it? Is it something that falls into the category of passive income, or one where you are battling with terrible tenants and hassles you wouldnt want for anyone? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jack Gibson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jack Gibson such as: Jack shares the reasons why he loves passive income strategies and why he develops these in every way that he can throughout his business. Why it is so important to find the skills sets in others that complement each other. You just cannot build a business on your own. Why Jack admits to struggling with "never being enough" in his business a why he keeps hi vacations to a week at a time. and lastly…. Why McDonald's became the biggest land owners in the world because they knew where the value of their business was...and it wasn't hamburgers.

Health Is Big Business And Todays Guest Has Taken His Ill Health And Created Massive Success

Today’s guest entrepreneur joining us on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots podcast interview is a man who has been through so much that you would think that a smile wouldn’t be permanently attached to his face. But attached it is, and it seems to be getting bigger everyday too. You see this is a guy who found his path to success, fulfilment and enjoyment in such a dark place that it is testament to the truth “The real gift is waiting within” As he says “For nearly two decades of my early life, there was always something wrong with me. I was dead tired and suffered from an avalanche of health problems. I endured all of this even though I was an athletic and supposedly fit young man. I tried to ignore it, tucking it all under a rug, but eventually there came a day when I decided enough was enough. And it was all because of this one fateful event… It was late one Wednesday night in the middle of March, a few days before my 17th birthday. I had just returned home from soccer practice, but I was even more of a mess than usual…” You see he had finally come to the acceptance that there was something wrong within, that not only would change his outward appearance dramatically, but also threaten his life dream of becoming professional footballer forever. He had found his biggest challenge, one that would take him to the brink, before he managed to step onto the first part of the path, that would lead him to where he is today. A New York Times best selling author and one of the most trusted health experts in the world, appearing on TV and radio across the world. So how did he beat the physical issues, when he also had to tackle the mental issues that made his teenage years so difficult too? And does he feel that this is 100% what he should be doing with his life, or is he simply waking towards the bigger path, waiting patiently for him? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Yuri Elkaim.

Extra Money Coming To You Whilst You Sleep Is A Real Dream. In Todays Episode We Show How Anyone Can Achieve Passive Income

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we spend time talking about why and if you should build a content based website. Over the last few years, people have become more and more fascinated with having the ability to create extra income for themselves on auto pilot. You go to sleep and wake up richer than you were before. And now with the internet ruling the world, even the smallest individual can dominate major corporations by building small laser targeted niche websites based around a single subject. Now this episode was inspired by a guy called Paul Gray, who dropped us a line into our Facebook Page asking the following question "Hi David, I've been listening to the podcast for the last few months and think it's great. Both inspirational and motivational. Just wanted to ask for any advice on starting a holiday website similar to yours. (Although not for Florida keys). Love the idea of the side income potential that, for the most part, would run itself once the initial work has been done. Keep up the great work with the podcast. Thank you, Paul." So we responded to him, and advised that we would record an episode detailing our thoughts on creating extra income in this way. Now as we say, it is reasonably easy to do something like this but it does take some planning. You dont want to start off on the wrong foot and spend your time creating a site, that although of interest to many people is a struggle to monetize. So start by thinking about, what people would pay for, and how easy is it to create a site around that thing? This is what I considered right at the very beginning of creating "Whats At Florida Keys" Would people pay to find out more information regarding this part of America? Well, no they want it for free, but they will pay to book a hotel room, or hire care, go scuba diving or a romantic meal or two. So can you find people that will be willing to pay you some kind of profit by passing leads through to their business? If you can then this is a great start to your desire to earn extra income for yourself - now you just have to go out and start building the site

So many people want to become an entrepreneur but where do you start?

Well my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a uk guy who knows more than most what it takes to get something off the ground, and become a success. He author of the book series, The Law Of Business, a book series highlighting the skills needed to make a business successful, whilst also running a podcast of the same name. But why I wanted to have him on the show was to highlight the guys at all levels of building their dream businesses. As he says "My entrepreneur story started when I went to an event in oxford circus hosted by an American singer called Napoleon, an affiliate of Tupac Shakur." And that start is more than good enough to think....these are dots that need to be joined up. Anyway, he was was telling us his story and all the things he did etc, at the end of the event I started thinking, this man is not much older than me and he has done so much with his life. It was wake up time, and that's when I said I need to achieve something big in life, to free myself from the supermarket life i was living at the time.  I went home and while on my bed I was thinking of the things I could do, I said to myself, I can't be a doctor, I can't be a football player, then Bill Gates came on my mind, and that's when I wanted to be an entrepreneur or inventor.   And that's when my journey begun. That free event completely changed my mindset and I haven't gone back to the employee and average living mindset ever since, I always think big now.   In 2011 I had a language learning website called "Foreigntalk" but i took that down in 2012 because i knew nothing about marketing and sales, I was getting members but didn't know how to monetize from it.    I got into internet marketing by first doing network marketing than I worked on some advertising websites, then I started my own ad website and now I am working on the law of business, my book series and making online courses about business and personal development as well.    So this is going to be such an interesting story, as it touches on so many areas that trip others up as they work on the life they want.   So why is it that people manage to create a traffic source, but then fail to monetize it?   Is it that they create a business that doesn't solve others problems, or actually creates more problems for themselves?   Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Jamil Jama. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jamil Jama such as: How Jamil is never happy re the amount of work that he gets done, and often gets told by his friends to calm down and look after is health Jamil shares how he has developed his time management system, to ensure he gets masses done every single day. This is something we can all use. We talk about Meetup.com and how useful it is to surround yourself with like minded individuals who understand what you are going through in life. and lastly…. Jamil talks openly about his belief in self development, and why its the stories he hears that make such a huge difference to his life.

Funnels In Business Are Boomtime, And Todays Guest Is A Click Funnels Expert

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who rise to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. He went from a full-time insurance agent 4 years ago to building an e-commerce business that sold $20 million of physical products in 2016. What is astonishing is he did this WITHOUT using Amazon, eBay, or Shopify, and with nothing more than simple two-page ClickFunnels websites that use carefully optimized sales funnels. If you think that entrepreneurs are born more than made you could well be right. Our guest got his start in entrepreneurship with a pool cleaning business at 16, and has done everything from selling tea, to selling hundreds of thousands of dollars of t-shirts on Teespring, and to now selling 10,000 units per month across 20 different physical product lines. Today, he has built up an email list of 1.1 million subscribers and 300,000 buyers, and is selling the largest volume out of 50,000 ClickFunnels users. In addition to his eight-figure business selling physical products, his passion is helping and mentoring others to have the same success in e-commerce that he has had. But of course you need to have a direction right at the beginning, and then overcome the heartaches, stumbles and falls that knock so many people away from success like this. So was he just extremely lucky and didn't have any of these? Or is he a guy that believes that persistence overcomes luck and talent everyday of the week? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Trey Lewellen Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Trey Lewellen such as: Try shares a story of his early struggles, and reveals how he would have loved to be able to have reached out and found a mentor way before he found the man for him. Trey shares a powerful story of how the value of money has never changed for him, even when he earnt £117,000 he still appreciated what it took for the normal man to earn similar. Why flying across the world is so inspiring to Trey, as it brings into focus the complete abundance that we all have on offer to us everyday. and lastly…. Why people feel secure in the job that they do, even though they could lose it the next day. This is madness, and a side hustle should be on everyones schedule for protection.

Mistakes Lead To Business Success, If You Are Only Willing To Make Those Mistakes

In todays episode David Ralph the host of Join Up Dots will answer some questions sent in from listeners across the world. Some are quite deep whilst others are light and fun, but all of them in one way or another are tackling the subject of mistakes and being willing to tackle them head on.

David, thank you so much for the show. I love it. Do you ever wish that you had started a different business, as I think at my core I am frightened of starting something in case I make a mistake and end up hating it. - Michaela Matthews, Toulouse, France Hello to all at Join Up Dots, i recently heard an episode where you answered listeners questions so I thought I would try to get one answered myself. I hate my life and for the longest time have felt in total despair that nothing good is ever going to happen to me. But after listening to many of your shows I am starting to change the way I think about the darkness. Both you and your guests have spoken about the bad times being the good times in the end. I think I can see that is true. So how can I make this small change in the way I think bigger and bigger, as its the key I feel - Peter Druboivs, Pula, Croatia Hello David, my question is about that clip that you play when Oprah speaks about "Doing The Right Next Thing". If I am getting this right, she says be quiet, listen to your thoughts and then go and conquer. Surely if it is that easy then everyone would be a success. Thoughts? - Damion Dansey, Ontario Canada, And now if you have been following along with the show, you will have head me mention numerous times about a lovely lady who is connecting with the show called Derek. We call her Derek. so that her bosses, if they happen to listen to the show, wont know its her. Yeah, i know we do too much. However Derek is in the process of reading self development, listening to podcasts, and planning how she can create a business that rocks, whilst at the same time supporting her partner and her lifestyle and she is a bit lost as to how to proceed. Now there isn't anyway that she can just go crazy and do the leap of faith, so a strategic plan is needed to allow her to side hustle her way to earning additional income and growing that confidence. Business is nothing more than, finding something you can do amazingly well, and that others need and will pay for....and then getting them to know about it after all. Well this week, Derek posted in the FB group a statement of success that made me sit and up and take notice. She advised us "What’s crazy is less than a year ago I started a band - I had zero idea what I was doing. None whatsoever. I just know that I can sing and I started networking and contacting people I had no business contacting being a brand new band and we started making decent headway. I’m floored by the success we’ve seen with the minimal effort I’ve put into it. Why I doubt myself in other arenas is beyond me" Isn't that amazing...she has already created success, by doing all the right things already. Now its time for her to replicate that format to gain more success again.

My guest today, last appeared on the show back on episode 78 of the show, and at the point was one of the founding members of the Higher Purpose Project, which we also discussed with our previous guests Ginger Kern and Dan Adams. A powerful collection of individuals that have taken it on themselves to create a platform for dreamers, high achievers and goal setters, to channel their passions and overcome their fears. With a tagline of “Be Your Own Hero” the project is going from strength to strength as the world wakes up to what can be achieved if we only take action. I am also very passionate about creative expression – especially spoken word poetry, painting (finger painting counts, right?) and salsa and tango dance. In my other time, I have coached individuals; worked designing personal development focused curriculum and leading weekend summits for groups of entrepreneurs and change-makers; served as a camp counselor for an adult summer camp revolving around authentic connections sans technology; created and offered workshops on cultivating passion and purpose; and co-facilitated transformative women’s circles and NYC-based programs for career shifts and meaningful work." My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is widely known as the Morning Coach, with a daily podcast that has been downloaded over 22 million times. He is a sought-after motivational speaker and coach with an international following, he holds advanced degrees in business and metaphysics but credits his street education—from black eyes to near bankruptcy—with providing the life-changing lessons that inspired the keys to personal transformation he shares with audiences, coaching clients, and readers worldwide. Now that is the official blurb but what about the man himself. What lead him to be the go to morning person that the world is reaching out for? Well, he thought he had found what he was looking for once he achieved a golden level of corporate success and financial freedom. He had money. He had status. But it wasn't enough, as he realised having conquered the corporate ladder, he felt a strong pull to seek something more, leading him to actualize his personal dream. But what was his personal dream, as he it certainly turned out to be not what he was doing? Well, by aligning his mission, values, and goals, he was able to form an action plan and achieve his vision of a fulfilling career of guiding others toward realizing their inner purpose balanced with his passions of family, golf, and writing—all with a three-hour workday. And this journey prompted him to write the popular book The Sacred Six: The Simple Step-by-Step Process for Focusing Your Attention and Recovering Your Dreams. This 5-star-rated book, the podcast and his overall outlook inspire others to be their best and change the world. So looking back was he actually on the wrong path, or did he need this false start to truly find the right one? And where do people go wrong, listening to others, or not listening to themselves? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only JB Glossinger. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with  such as: How he managed to turn himself from a night owl into the morning morning person, and the difference that has made to his outlook and fortune. Why JB feels that making people taking action and being hugely motivated is not his job to see through. He gives them the tools and then its up to them. JB shares the fact that almost everyday he screws up, and how he has learnt to not beat himself up by the fact of opportunities missed.  and lastly…. JB reveals why he feels that he was so lucky to have a Columbian mountaineer on his side as he wife knows how you never get to the top of the highest peak that you aim for.

Are you excited by what the world has to offer you on New Years eve? Well i guess you should be as its a time for new beginnings.

However in this episode of Join Up Dots, I share why I feel setting a goal because of the date, is not as valid an idea as starting a goal because you truly want to.

The motivation to achieve anything has to start within you, and if you are being forced into it you are prone to fail bigtime. So from myself the host of Join Up Dots, I just want to say a big "Happy New Year", thank you for listening to the show in ever increasing numbers and I look forward to sharing more stories, more insight, and a lot more motivation and laughs in the new year.

Have a good one and we will see each other again very soon - David

Starting a Business, Starting To Make Money, Starting The Dream - Its All Here Today

Today's show is almost the last one for 2017 and has a few varied and excellent questions from listeners across the world. This is the kind of stuff that really makes hosting a show like Join Up Dots a total delight to host. But the first question, is more of a review of the show, and an amazing insight to the vision that is the show and what we hope it all to become in the future. A great year is almost finished. 2017 has become a changing point for me. Here is my short story. I grew up in Ukraine but I’ve been dreaming to go abroad all my life. I thought about UK. I hadn’t gone to UK, but last year I came to Dubai. It was great event for me. I had worked for one year in the hotel and changed my job then. I worked in sales in Ukraine and I found same job here in Dubai. Now I am working in sales department of a big Real Estate Developer company. The interesting fact. My manager is an amazing British woman. And some brokers whom I work with, are British too. Some of them live in Dubai and work here, some of them live in UK but we are cooperating. It’s a quite interesting, isn’t it? I feel like all the dots started connecting and only now I can understand what Steve Jobs said in his speech in 2005 in Harvard. It’s true, we can’t connect the dots looking forward, we can only connect them looking backwards. But I want to say thanks to one more British person that I’ve met. This person is David Ralph. I’ve found his podcast recently and I listen to it every day, 2-3 episodes a day. He is doing a great job. He is really connecting the dots, all those dots between the people from different countries all over the world. And these amazing people are sharing their life experience in David’s program. I’d like to say thank you, David. I love your program! Merry Christmas to you and whole your family! Question Two Hello David and Join Up Dots, I have recently seen your page when it shares how you monetize Join Up Dots, which is great. This has led me to want to ask two questions if you would be so kind. Firstly, I see that you have a automobile business listed. Is this your business, or are you are partner? And secondly, I see a lot of people share their income statements on their websites. Why do you think they do this, and have you ever considered this to be something that you would like to do too?  - Adler Ling, Shanghai, China Question Three Join Up Dots Rocks - I listen everyday and tell all my colleagues to listen too. Your show is not like any other that I have heard. What is your favourite episode you have recorded - Osil Harket, Norwary Question Four Thanks for creating such a wonderful podcast. I came across it 2-3 weeks ago and love listening to many of your past episodes. I have been wanting to create an online business since around 2005. I think I first got the bug after listening to Tim Ferriss's audiobook of the 4 Hour work week. I also was listening to Internet business mastery, which then lead me to Pat Flynns podcast. My challenges are: How to really get started, which idea of my many I should go with, over coming my fear of failing. Maybe it's low self confidence, but I feel that I have failed at a lot of things in life and so I am or was afraid to really try to build an online business. I don't want to fail on my "dream". One thing that I dislike about other podcasts is that the  host eventually begins to self promote their products and courses and start sharing less and less of how or what to do. I feel that you don't  do this. So thank you. Other than wanting to ask you for help on being a mentor and getting me on the right path, I'd like to know how long was it from the time you thought about leaving your job to actually sending out your first podcast? What exactly were you doing? How did you know what you needed to do to set up your podcast? Did you set up a website before or after? If I were to do the same as you, what kind of costs would I be looking at to get started? You talk about all the hours and hard work that went into getting things going. What did those times look like, what were you doing? Last question, what's your favourite thing for breakfast? Thanks again for creating Join Up Dots, it's really inspired me to start taking action. PS. some of the buttons on your site are broken or not set up, fyi. Ryan.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, is a man with a fascinating tale joining up many dots to where he is today. Spending the first nine years of his career like Maverick in Top Gun, he felt the need the need for speed, as an Air Force Pilot, before entering the corporate world to work for Abbott Laboratories and then Valassis. And he was on top form working for both companies, and was recognised as a top performer. Which is of course great, but underneath lurking in his passions and dreams, was a desire to go out on his own to start his own business. The old leap of faith was beckoning, but like so many people across the world, he had the desire but not the direction. He wanted to do his own thing, but was unsure what that thing was supposed to be. And as we see time and time again on Join Up Dots, that path can reveal itself at anytime, and this was certainly the case with todays guest. As fate would have it, a random conversation with a friend about the gum ball machines his family owned started it all off. That one conversation sparked an intrigue and planted the seeds for what would eventually become his business School Spirit Vending. But not before disappointment, frustration and the downturn in the economy in 2008 knocked his confidence for six. And then a knock on the door happened at his home, and the path got clearer. So what was it about that knock on the door, and the conversation that happened upon opening it,that really got the juices going? And does he now look back and think, “Man, the clues were floating around me all the time, I just couldn’t see them?” Well let’s bring onto the show to start joining up dots, as we discuss the words of Steve Jobs in todays Free podcast, with the one and only Matt Miller Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Matt such as: How he feels the speed of the group is determined by the speed of the leader, and he is aware that everyday he has to be on top form to inspire that momentum. How he often advises entrepreneurs that when you start a product be aware that you will end up in a 180 direction change down the line. How he remembers the time, that it first dawned him that he had achieved the tipping point in his life and he had now achieved the time freedom he craves. And lastly…. How he now knows exactly what his key skills are, and actively seeks for people who are excited to do the things that he can’t. Which powers his business forward massively.

These range from happiness, to online construction to when is the right type time to leave your job. Big questions, require big answers....so lets start with question one: David, great show. What would be your free biggest tips to being happy? Donald, Manchester, England   Now question two....  Hi! I have been listening to your podcasts over the last few weeks and have been talking about wanting to start my own company for months. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a a father, husband, entrepreneur, and the visionary behind iTREKKERS. He founded the company in 2014 after realizing that bringing together vetted professional captains and guides on one platform would help guarantee everyone a better experience in the outdoors. But what does that mean exactly? Well as he says “Driven by my passion for hiking and fishing and the unreliable and diverse experiences that I have had; iTrekkers has been born. iTrekkers concept is simple: We connect customers to amazing outdoor experience that will help make them advocates. In order to achieve this, we have developed – www.itrekkers.com, where customers will be able to search a city location (such as Tampa), pick the type of fishing Trek they want to do (inshore, nearshore or offshore) and the package / price combination they want, and voila! we provide you with a guide to book. Our booking process is simple, safe and secure. And, best of all, we guarantee our trips 100% customer satisfaction or your money back. “ The end goal is straight forward: They want all their customers to have the best chance of experiencing the great outdoors in the most pleasant and exciting way possible. Now this is an interesting concept for so many reasons, not least the mental aspect of building a business around something that is already out there? Isn’t someone else doing it already? How can I charge for something people can do for free anyway? Well our guest has ploughed through all the obstacles and now is seeing his business go from strength to strength. So when did the idea first come to him, and was it something that instantly took hold, or niggled away for many months before taking action? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Thomas Mulliez Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Thomas Mulliez such as: How he decided on the area that he was going to build a business in, and the steps that he took to start his new venture. Why Thomas felt the need to go and see a mentor, and how it managed him to see a totally different way of proceeding in the future. Thomas shares why he surrounds himself with greatest minds that he can hope to find, and what he does to hos own development. and lastly…. Why a terrible bachelor party first gave him the idea of starting how own business, but he still needed a push from his own company to tackle it head on.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who when you first read his bio, you think....or at least I did "Is this true?" He starts with "I grew up with a tribe of Mayan Indians in a remote village in the highlands of Guatemala. I am also a helicopter and airplane pilot, an avid photographer, and taught high performance motorcycle riding/racing. " So this gives you one impression of todays Indiana Jones type guest, so let's give you another He’s an author, speaker, and an entrepreneurial adviser who can teach the world how to make an impact through thought leadership and how to turn their competitors into an asset.  His work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, USA Today, INC. Magazine, and Forbes.  He is also a regular speaker not only for TEDx, but for Harvard, Adobe, and other international conferences and now is delivering to the world his fifth book, The Business Of Expertise: How Entrepreneurial Experts Convert Insight To Impact + Wealth teaches entrepreneurs how to elevate themselves and the world. In the book he discusses Five Early Tests for the Positioning of Your Expertise; Demonstrating Expertise; Not Demonstrating Expertise; How Expertise Unfolds" Which gives us a great framework for taking you guys onto the first steps of being an expert in your own field and rocking it bigtime. But what really shows the man is what he told me on email, and you can hear the passion bigtime "I’m very successful by most measures, but it always feels tentative to me. I see myself on the street some day if things don’t go my way, if I get lazy, if I have some bad luck. I’m hungry for more, and it drives me crazy. I wish I could relax and enjoy the success w/o being paranoid about it.   It feels like life throws weird twists and turns at you and it’s a matter of reimagining yourself in a different role. Saying “no” to most of those things so that you can say “hell, yes!!!!” to a few of them. Being grateful, disciplined, and eager. Now I am rambling" So where do people go wrong...not spending enough time on becoming an expert, or spending too long and never going out to prove it? And when did he realise where he should position himself on his own entrepreneurial journey? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr David C Baker Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with David C Baker such as: David shares why he is still travelling across the world to be put on the spot week in and week out. He feels that he needs to sharpen his skills, by constantly being tested and this is the best way to not getting stupid. Why we all have a lack of confidence in our personal abilities at the beginning, and more often than not do not grow until the market starts seeing us as good. Its then that our own personal belief hits in. David shares how he started his own marketing firm, and how he severely underestimated  the amount of work that it took to get it off the ground. and lastly…. Why consultants are in so many ways scamming their company by simply asking the questions that the company should always know if they truly look within themselves.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with a background in finance but a future that is 100% entrepreneurial. As a young man you could see that he was destined for a life dealing with numbers, but not where he has ended up. Leaving the University Of Florida after studying Economics he took a position with the accurate Advisory Group providing retirees and those planning their retirement with a range of financial planning services. He presented to countless families at presentation workshops on Social Security, 401k strategies, the In’s and Out’s of the brokerage world as well as many other related topics for individuals around the Tampa Bay Area for over 9 years until he decided to Found a side business “My Tax Reduction Blueprint” As he says “We don’t want our clients to incur any risk, so we perform all our work on a contingency basis. That means we only get paid if we are able to find savings and/or settlements for you! While most CPA’s are stuck looking at the rear-view mirror of your business, we focus on your windshield, creating current and future tax savings for you.” Now for many people this may sound like boring stuff that they trey to hide from as much as possible, but this show will be anything but. This will be a show about a man finding his path, by finding a solution to others problems. This will be a show about a man going it alone, and little by little building his company into a team of motivated financial advisers. This will be a show about a man, who no doubt will have struggled with the financial aspects of building his business as all entrepreneurs do. So why did he decide that this was what he wanted to do in his life, and is he as enthused about it now or can he see bigger goals to achieve? And is there one bit of simple advice that all our listeners to take on board that can make such a huge difference in their lives, when it comes to finance? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Travis Jennings.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who has been wowing the theatre world in London's West End and rocking arenas all over the world for the last few years. During her 25 years in the industry, she has lived and worked all over the world, first starting as an entertainer at Sunwing performing with dance bands, soul, jazz, pop and cover bands, to finally landing bigtime in rock music. But it hasnt been instant success and for many years she worked as a backing singer for many of  Sweden's most popular singers, dreaming of the time that she could push them out of the spotlight and truly show what she could do. On February 2, 2008, she found the door that could allow her talent to shine big-time when she won the Swedish talent show West End Star onTV. The prize for winning was the leading role as "Lady of the Lake" in the London West End production of the Monty Python musical Spamalot. She moved to London to play the lead, which at that time was the biggest role played by a Swedish performer in the West End for a very long time, and made over 500 performances In July of that year she was back in Sweden leaving the London stage for a while, and performed a song at the popular Swedish television show Allsång på Skansen, where she was approached by the BBC to compete in the UK Eurovision selection event; she declined the offer. But this is not just the story of a lady working hard and getting a break in the business, as today's guest is also someone who loves to give back and entertain audiences that perhaps are not her target audience, such as appearing in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Liberia and Mali for the Swedish Armed Forces. So has this always been a passion, even as a small girl, or did she just find something that she could do very well? And what has the been the hardest part, the struggle to get there, or to stay there? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Nina Soderquist. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Nina Soderquist such as: How she looks back she can clearly see the dots joining up her life, and loves the fact that her future is a walk into the unknown. Scary sometimes but something that she relishes. Why she wishes that she had got a better manager in the early days of her life, as her journey to success would have been so much shorter. How she listens to her own songs, and sometimes appreciates them, but struggles to get past the critic in her. She allows the audience to show her what is good or not. and lastly…. Why she rarely sings away from the stages of the world, and has never ever done karaoke in her life.....shock!!!

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who has been creating her success from the ground up in amazing effect. Starting her journey around the same time that Join Up Dots launched, she has been out there every day, hustling, upskilling and sharing her talents with the world She is the President & CEO of Marketing to Crush Your Competitors, is also an Online Business Strategist, Professional Speaker, Author and Podcaster. As a former elite athlete, including playing in the PanAm games, and a former physiotherapist helping her clients get to their optimum health, she is a genius at mapping out a strategic path to victory. But to be honest, you can throw all the big words in the world in her direction and it will never show the simple fact, that she cares. She cares about her business. She cares massively about her clients. She cares about making the most of each day. And that is part of what we will talk about today....loving something so much that your bring into the world something that you couldn't imagine at the beginning So is her business where it is because of the struggles she has overcome or the successes that came easily? And what is the biggest issue that her clients bring to her, stopping them from achieving the same success? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Fabienne Raphael Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Fabienne Raphael such as: Why Fabienne has made the decision to change their name of her podcast, and what that means to her audience. Fabienne shares how she wasn't born to be an entrepreneur, but was willing to hustle. develop and make mistakes until she could 100% class herself as one. Why so many people make the mistake of seeing the small shoots of financial reward start to grow, and then going and starting something else. Why we should make more effort to get out and see real people in our business. You can't develop as quickly if you just stay in front of your computer all the time. and lastly…. Coming originally from Dallas, but now living blissfully on several acres of Pennsylvania countryside, todays guest knows a thing or two about living great, feeling great, and doing things naturally. Over the last few years he has worked enlightening people, as to how they can in his words” take back their power in the areas in which they give it away. “ Which may not mean much to you at the moment, but will certainly form the basis of our interview today. He is regularly featured on television and radio where he shares his direct experiences, as to how we can make living a healthier lifestyle, and easy and fun too! It is the simple no nonsense yet basic everyday living approach to his work, which has created a hugely loyal following over the years. And with a series of publications that really tackle the pain points of people lives, such as “Acne Free in 3 Days: How I Cleared my Acne in Only 3 Days ” and “Weight Loss By The Numbers” selling in large numbers he is sought after as the man to help. And its not a surprise as someone who suffered as a young man with weight issues, he is in a prime position to speak from experience. So why is it if you can cure acne in three days, that so many teenagers and young adults suffer with this issue again and again. And what was the point in his own up bringing when he realised that he had to do something about getting into shape? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Chris Gibson. Show Highlights During the episode we discussed such weighty topics such as: Why it is so important to get yourself mentally right before you start tackling the physical health we all crave. How he remembers throwing a Doctors prescription away and that was the moment that he started taking control of his destiny. Why it is so important to slow down and consider every decision that we make each day, to start making a positive change in our lives. If you are in a job that is making you unhappy then you need to ask yourself “Why is it doing this to me?” and try to resolve the problem not just accept it. And lastly….. How you don’t need to be an expert in everything nowadays, but you do need to know how to find the people that are.

In todays episode of Join Up Dots, David Ralph shares three different stories from three listeners who are building their dream lives and all are struggling in one way or another to make the next step to where they want to be. We get more and more questions from listeners who are listening to the show and are inspired by the content and want more and more from life. So let's start with the first question, which was received in our FB group from a lovely lady in America, who preferred not to be names in case her boss heard the show. So in this episode we will call her Derek..... "Hi David, Why do I have zero motivation at work!? Please don’t share this on the podcast with my name but I’m curious if you ever felt at your past life job that you just couldn’t give a fuck about the job at hand? I come in excited to start the day coming off of your podcast and then I get here and turn to absolute mush. Did you have days like that? I feel like it’s bleeding into my desire to get out in that it’s just completely draining me." You will hear the answer to this question on the show as you would expect from a top ranked podcast. The second question was posed from a guy, who knows what he wants to do, and knows how to do it, but is holding himself back from going full time. "Hey David, thanks so much for personally getting in touch. I've just realised you did, so apologies for not getting back to you. I'm from Bath, in good old Blighty like yourself. Thankyou for taking a moment to lend me your ear. In answer to your question, what is my biggest issue I have to reply, in a word...FEAR! I made the decision some time ago to change course in my career before reaching the age of 40 to pursue my love of photography. It's something that always consumes my thoughts and heart but until recently not something I thought I should develop on a freelance basis. Well, that changed when in my current job as a gardener I started to lose interest and a new manager appeared in the last 5 months and unfortunately we don't see eye to eye (a little similar to your origin story I think!) So, after 15 years in that career (and my back and knees are getting a bit knackered!) I thought, this is the perfect time to switch it all up again for the new decade of my life. I've now decided to prepare myself, the finances and inform family members of my decision to go freelance and to commit full time to taking photos - I've had some success in the past doing it in my spare time and appeared in a few newspapers, commercial work and recently won a competition on the Expedia/Trover website where the prize was a £1000 holiday. I love shooting events, festivals and adore landscape photography especially if I can get to work with outdoor and travel brands. I think I'm ready, but, as I mentioned before I'm scared. Fear has grabbed me, it's the great unknown and my knees are a knocking! Just can't seem to leave the comfort of a regular job and step into a world of freelance even though I'm sure I can do it and have a much more fulfilling life, just as you discovered when you found your true calling. Apologies for the lengthy ramble, though it would be awesome to get your insight and advice on how to not be too much of a yellow belly and confront this fear! Wayne Farrell, UK. Now for our last question we bring onto the show a lovely lady who has been a friend of Join Up Dots since the early days, and through listening to the show changed her life dramatically. But now that dramatic phase has become a little bit boring. So what do you do when life becomes humdrum? Do you do more and more to keep it exciting, or sit back and focus on what is brilliant in your life? Well as you can guess, we will answer that question on the show...and its a good one that connects all the others spoken about in todays episode. "Hi all! Just wanted to post an update and ask a general sort of question. I’ve been teaching a crazy amount of in person English classes since I got here, but am looking into teaching online. I can make dollars again and save on my commute which would be great. Outside of that I am honestly not sure what my long term plans are at the moment. Lately I have been feeling so much pressure to travel and even explore Prague with any free time I have but also feeling like I need to be studying grammar and teaching methodology. This has left me feeling a bit overwhelmed and slightly paralyzed. Truth is, as I mentioned I don’t know what my long term plans are. I know I don’t want to move back to America, but outside of that I am feeling a giant question mark. When I try to think about what I want to do I truly don’t know outside of travel. Have any of oh found ways to ease up the mental stress and pressure you tend to create for yourself in these situations? That feeling of I should be doing more all the time?....Megan, Czechoslovakia"

Selling Expert Kayvon Kay Gives The Number One Advice For BIG SALES!

Todays guest joining us on the show has over the past 19 years, he has helped 1000+ coaches, consultants, service providers, and entrepreneurs master the fundamentals of sales and close more High-Ticket sales over the phone. He is known as the “The One Call Closer,” and is one of the most recognized and in-demand sales trainers in the high-ticket space. The tactics and ideas that he uses in his One Call-Closer private training are techniques that took him 20 years to develop and that less than 1% of the population even know about. These techniques are also derived from him spending over 10,000 hours on sales and business trainings, courses, and seminars. Now that sounds amazing, and of course we all will be thinking that he was born with this talent. But in fact his journey to becoming a successful sales trainer didn’t happen overnight nor was it easy. He went through a lot to get to where he is today. He started his passion for selling at the young age of 13 where he got his first sales job as a junior sales assistant at the local furniture store. It was from that experience that he wanted to pursue a passion for selling and started this never-ending pursuit of sales improvement. Up until today, he’s read over 396 sales books and has spent over $128,563 on sales trainings and seminars. During his time at college, the Dean of Special Resources told him that he should drop out of school because of his diagnosed struggles with ADD/ADHD. It wasn’t the first time he was told to give up and quit and it will not be his last. However, that didn’t affect him and he wasn’t willing to give up. And that is always the key to success, persistence outworks talent, skills and anything else you think is holding you back from your future. So what is it about selling that lights him up inside, when most people struggle with this bigtime. And where do we go wrong, blinking at the pivotal moment of quoting our price, or something else? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Kayvon Kay Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Kayvon Kay such as: Kayvon share his belief that there is no single path to success, and everybody has to create the path that is right for them if it is truly going to succeed. Kayvon shares how so many people get confused with the systems against the strategies. Use the webinars, funnels, an email optins to create a deeper connection with your clients before you ever hope to sell. We discuss Kayvons childhood, and how his fathers advice could have held him back from the future that was waiting for him. Thank god he ignored him! and lastly…. We discuss how Kayvon spent $125,000 on self development and still failed - the reason was he hadn't proved himself to anyone, not least himself.

Creativity comes in many forms.

And in todays episode our guest shows how he has blended several creative areas into one rocking a rolling business.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is an interesting guy for sure. They call him the LINGO guy (which will make more sense shortly) and has been the go-to portrait photographer for an exclusive clientele for 30+ years. His portraits have appeared on The Oprah Show, CBS News, in “O” Magazine, People Magazine and New York Family Magazine. Now if you think this is a guy who just takes amazing snaps then think again as he says “While the three career roles I play as photographer, speaker, and coach may seem diverse, they actually have one thing in common. It is the essence of being a witness. The sparkle coming alive in a child’s eyes, a small business owner making a shift in their way of thinking or an entire audience being inspired. I am motivated by the role I play in bringing that response forward and grateful for being a part of someone else’s aliveness.” Which means that through his trained eyes, he uses his honed intuition to see and sense, helping to businesses stand out, attract their ideal customers, and create brand loyalty that supersedes price. Which is fascinating to us at Join Up Dots, as with an ever increasing crowd battling it out online, how do you get your creativity, vision and passion to shine out and attract customer like magic? Well through his book, LINGO: He teaches us all to “Discover Your Ideal Customer’s Secret Language and Make Your Business Irresistible” Powerful stuff and the kind of content I dont think we have had on Join Up Dots before. He is also the host of the popular business podcast Creative Warriors and a featured speaker on The Moth, and with a social media audience of more than 100,000 seems to be what the world is looking for. So what made him get our his camera and start taking photos in the first place? And when did he realise that it wasnt just an image that he was creating, but someones future every time the shutter clicked? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Jeffrey Shaw Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jeffrey Shaw such as: Why Jeffrey has learnt that stepping into your greatness doesnt always translate across the world, and how he meanders around it to ensure his clients grow bigger than they could hope for. Jeffrey shares how he knew as a youngster that he was very different from his father and his brothers, and can now see how it placed him where he is today. Why so many people need to make space in their lives to allow themselves to provide the value to their clients. Although they need to be shown that its possible. and lastly…. Jeffrey shares a brilliant image for life……life is like a game of twister. It doesnt matter if you can’t find the next dot to place your hand, someone will fall and your space will become visible.

Todays guest on Join Up Dots is going to give us a different perspective to a story which we have already told back on a previous episode of Join Up Dots. His girlfriend and business partner Julie Gohring, came on the show on episode 330, and told us how together with todays guest she has created a life splashing around happily on the beaches of Costa Rica. But it isn’t all about having great fun and the life that he wants. Yes, he is passionate about using fitness and health to enrich peoples lives. As he says “I’ve been an athlete my entire life which has given me a unique set of tools to educate and motivate others to live healthier, fitter and more joyous lives. I love training on the beach and getting after it in the gym. Good nutrition (most of the time) solid recovery, and a little mindfulness practice round out my core beliefs. Surfing lights me up inside and motivates me to eat well, train hard, and stay well rested. I believe we all can find that activity that keeps us active and puts a smile on our face. And i’m here to help you discover it for yourself.” But this isn’t a tale of someone just playing to their strengths and it all comes together effortlessly. This is a story of someone making big decisions, and tackling his own mind chatter head on, as he transitioned from San Francisco and paradise, and a life that looks too good to be true. So how did he free himself from the naysayers, and doom mongers that will have thought “You can’t have a life on the beach…..that is what vacations are for, not work?” And does he see the beach as the ultimate place for building a business based on your passions, just for the fact that if you can do it there you will believe you can do it anywhere? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Nick Holt Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics such as: How he loves the ability to provide accountability tools to clients across the world, monitoring their progress and setting targets from a far. How his parents took years to really understand that he wasn’t just drinking beer and splashing around on the beach today, and actually is building a business, and one that he loves. How he battled massively with the naysayers who couldn’t understand why he would want to move to a foreign country and start his life again. Why it is so important to realise that the stars are never going to a line in the sky, but you can reach up and a line them up yourself by your own efforts. And lastly….. How he recalls the famous Mark Twain approach to the secret of getting ahead in life “Is just getting started” and buys into it totally.

Todays episode is a follow from last Fridays episode of Join Up Dots, where we answered some listener questions. Jenny Kimble and Jorge Uribe both wrote to the show asking for advice, as both wanted to build their own businesses but didn't know how to start. So asked these questions: Hi David and friends! I am literally listening to you most recent podcast right now, I love it and all of your other ones are so inspiring as well. I need help please! I am an artist, and I want to be an artist full time or have a shop or something that I can do that is creative,  where I can paint all day and sell my work. I have been evolving with my art and I feel that i know who I am as an artist and I continue to grow. My full time job is very draining and stressful and I sit in an office all day and people that come in are 90% rude to me all day long. My son and husband and I are living with my mom ...my husband can't work due to many health reasons and we are in a big time rut. It's making me mean and cranky and depressed and I dont want to be that person ..to my family especially.  You said to just make it work and change your life...but i just need a little advice or something to get it going. I'm willing  to do anything to be happier for myself and my family. Help! (Please ♡) thank you! ~Jenny Kimble~ Well in today's episode we follow on from what we advised due to Jenny sending us a follow up email, discussing the progress that she made when she advised us Hi David! Listened to you show today where you read my email and gave me great advise! Thank you so much. I really appreciate everything you said and will definitely be taking your advise and using it very soon I also have listened to the podcast you sent me about the amazing lady who makes the framed quotes to make a living. It was great! Funny enough, a few days ago a friend of mine quit her job (same place as me) and as a going away gift I painted her a small canvas with a sarcastic remark that a few of us in the office as friends said to each other a lot, and it was kind of an inside joke. She liked it so much and the girls thought it was so funny that they encouraged me to start the etsy shop where id sell sarcastic, vulgar, funny and nice little canvases with funny quotes on them. The next day, another friend of mine said I should do something similar and I took it as a sign to maybe just pursue it and see what happens. i have also looked into Amazon. I will say that i am going to cancel my gym membership (since i've only gone three times lol ) and will use that money to get an amazon membership or a personal website. Just wanted to keep you updated! Thanks again for your support and I will definitely be in touch! ♡Jenny♡ And now for Jorge Uribe, who first connected with us by saying: I hope everything is great. I love your show! I just started to listen to podcasts about 2 months ago because I was looking for a way to not get bored at my cubicle. That is how I found Join Up the Dots and even though my native language is not English, let alone that for me the British accent is more difficult to understand, I got so engaged with your show that I can't stop listening to it. I have been dreaming of having my own business since I was a kid, the funny thing is that I have never gone that way in my life. I am born and raised in Peru and about 5 years ago I was getting bored with my job and I thought that I should try to challenge myself and pursue an MBA abroad.   That is how I  came to Canada, where I am currently living and working. After finishing my MBA last year, I tried to get a job in my field, a task that ended up being very difficult. I couldn't get any job offer in my field and I was running out of money so  I had to be creative and do something to earn some cash. I was doing some temporal jobs where I had to do about anything, even whipping floors. In the meantime, I kept applying to different positions and one day I saw a job posting to do administrative work, I thought that I could leverage my knowledge of working with MS Office and decided to apply. Fortunately, I got the job and after 2 months, due to good performance, I got hired for a full-time position there. The salary just allows me to survive, I cannot save money, but at least I can eat and pay my bills. The thing is that I still have the same dream of creating a business, I don't see myself working all my life for someone. I want to create jobs and opportunities for other people and I, of course, want to own my time and life. I am a hardworking individual and don't care if I have to work 80 or more hours per week in something I like doing. I am very creative, I have good ideas all the time, but my problem is that I don't know how to execute and take action, maybe because I have been working for someone so long. The reason for me to write to you is because, as I commented, I listen to your show every single day and I heard you saying that you can help people like me to unleash the entrepreneur inside. I don't know where to start, what to do or which of my ideas I should pursue and unfortunately I don't have money to invest because I spent my life savings in my master degree. I read, breath and eat business information every day and I am very passionate about entrepreneurship and small businesses. I hope you don't find this email so long and please excuse my bad English, but it was hard to comprise all my story here because there was even more information I wanted to share. I also hope this email is part of my first step to take action as the call you did to one of your favorite shows some years ago where you tell the host your feeling about his show and your desire to become an entrepreneur. It would be great to look back and found this email and see my entrepreneurial journey with proud as you see yours now. Since advising him on the show, he has now got the thoughts rushing around his brain which he shared in this response What you mentioned about me of being a niche, is just great! Among the ideas that I have been evaluating there is one that is very similar to what you mentioned in the show. I would love to help people from South America to improve their education and at the same time to experiment what living abroad is. Some friends from Peru, have been asking me about my experience here, and one of them even told me that she wanted to study here in Canada. That's when I thought I could create some kind of consulting service. Some days passed by and I told her that I could help her, I didn't tell her I was going to do it for money, just as a friend, but she told me that she had new challenges at work and she was going to focus on that now. What I thought could have been my first customer ended up to be just an illusion. That is why I didn't continue developing the idea but now that you mentioned it, I think there could be something there.  I still have some doubts about how to start. I know that if I want to create a business using the internet I have to create an online presence. Here is where I get lost, should I create a blog, podcast, website, YouTube channel and how can I start bringing  people. And what about the legal aspects, should I incorporate, open a sole proprietorship? or should I just start with an online presence until I get customers and see if it works. The doubt is also because I don't think that a business can be taken seriously by customers if it is not a legal entity.  I know you are busy and I don't want to monopolize your time with so many questions but any thought you might have about this is very appreciated.  Again thank you for your help. I listen to your show every day but I never imagined that I was going to be part of one. I am extremely grateful for that.  So are you ready to follow suit and start your own business?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man whose business partner first appeared on the show way back on episode 94 Now its his turn to join up his dots, and certainly when he starts his email request to appear with “I’m a technology entrepreneur who built an online course building software called LifterLMS. I used to live on a glacier in Alaska with a couple hundred sled dogs and managed a sled dog tour business there. You could only get there by helicopter” then you know that it is going to be an interesting conversation. But its not just his icy beginnings that interest me, but more importantly what he is doing now and the struggle he has gone through getting here. He is the founder of LifterLMS, an online resource to help people across the globe create their own online courses without all the techy struggle that boggs them all down. “It’s time to stop stringing together separate software tools into a “Software Frankenstein” to get all the functionality you need. LifterLMS is the all-in-one solution many online course creators, teachers and entrepreneurs like you have been looking for.” And I dont normally say this kind of thing in the introduction but this platform looks amazing and is so needed by so many of the people that I speak to that have all the knowledge but then lose their way within the set up. Things are good for our guest, now as they should be…as he says “I’ve gone through hard times with little money, security, and lots of stress while having a wife and 2 wonderful homeschooled children that depended on me. Now things are great financially and in terms of stability, but there was a lot of struggle. I’m happy to share openly about the journey.” So where do we start? With the dogs and the woolly hats? Or the moment that LifterLMS first popped into his head and the change in his life since that time? Well let’s do all of them as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Chris Badgett Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with such as: Why you have to find a way of building the strengths where you have gaps, and the best way of doing this is finding a business partner that has those in abundance. How Chris used to think that business and creating businesses was “evil” and how he overcame this by linking a business into the personal. Chris shares how he manages a team across the globe, ensuring that everybody has the ability to flourish and get the work done. and lastly…. Why it is such a good idea to get out to the market and validate your idea before ever spending a huge amount of money and time

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who like most of us start on a career path that was right for our parents, but not necessarily ourselves. To be honest it probably wasnt even right for our parents, which makes it doubly mad that we passively follow suit

First, she followed the engineering path of her father and older brother, then stepped onto her mother’s career path in accounting.

“I was just showing up. I was physically there, but I wasn’t bringing a whole lot to the table.  I knew it wasn’t the right path for me, but I struggled for a couple of years.” And struggling is what its all about when we arent doing the thing that is right for us. But how do we break free from the struggle and start lighting up the passions of a life which may actually have no idea that we want? Well while still working as an accountant, our guest volunteered for a crisis and suicide hotline and as she say. “That was a real breakthrough for me. It gave me an opportunity to be in the kind of helping role I had thought I would like. I received amazing training there. I got experience actually helping people. I got validation and learned for the first time that I was really good at it. I was quickly promoted to be a trainer within that organization.” And that is how it starts people. You try lots of things. Some work, some don't. But when other start seeing your talents and saying great things, then perhaps that is where your attention should go. You may not see it at the time, but being told nice things about your performance is a great indicator that you have talents that can be used for a business. And now our guest, is an author of Career Grease: How to Get Unstuck and Pivot Your Career, and an expert career coach who has guided hundreds of people to innovative and functional career solutions. She is a practical advocate for achieving your heart’s desires, improving your workweek, and making a difference, all while keeping an eye on your financial success. So why does she think that now she has found her thing, it took her several missteps to find it? And is there a real path for everyone, or are someone people never going to find it as it simply doesn't exist for some? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Alison Cardy Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Alison Cardy such as: Alison shares how she struggled with marketing her business, which held her back from truly expanding in the direction she wanted before realising her mistake. Alison shares how we can all pivot in our careers, and believes that the first step is to find a champion that can support you moving forward. How the world cannot believe that they can do what they want in life, and they can actually make it happen too. Total mindset shift. and lastly…. Alison shares how she spent many years living in her head, unhappy, depressed, not uncommon to many of the people who now uses her services.

My guest on todays episode of the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, is a lady who wont let things in life get in the way of what she wants to achieve. She is an amazing woman who overcame a near fatal car accident, chose to remove her left arm, became the US National Champion in the Paralympics, competed in the World Championships in New Zealand, and is now a brand-new mother. That's not a bad start for any introduction. But the key thing to this story, and is what we will delve into in great depth, is how most of the things may not occurred, if she hadn't realised that mentally she was holding herself back from what she could achieve. As she says "I was in a car accident 17 years ago. So I had to always wear this sling and didn't have any motivation to move forward. My arm was paralyzed, a brachial plexus injury," She was intrigued and stimulated by here friends stories of running marathons, so set off to achieve the goal herself. But the whole experience was one of pain and distress, as her paralyzed arm pulled down the entire left side of her body, causing knee pain and even whiplash. It was like running with an anchor attached. She began to realize that her paralyzed arm not only weighed her down physically, it was a metaphor for all that was holding her back from living life fully. The anchor was weighing her down. Keeping her in one position, and stopping her moving towards the future she craved. So she realised that removing the arm, was going to be her saviour. Cutting the ties with the past could very well be the best thing that she could do. So she started considering amputation. "I wasn't there before, I think, emotionally" she says "I knew it was going to be different. The outward appearance is very shocking (to people); it's different now. I used to be asked all the time, 'What happened to your arm?' when it was in a sling," Making the decision to undergo such a major surgery proved difficult, even though she knew intellectually it was the right choice. Her solution? Set a series of athletic goals that would only be possible after the surgery. Make the surgery the first step to achieving what she wants in life, and wow hasn't she done just that! So, has the whole process been one that going back in time she would have done earlier? And does she see that the power of the mind, truly outweighs the capabilities of the physical body? Well lets find out, as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Tisa Cawthon.

In today's episode of Join up Dots we are responding directly to two listeners who have dropped us a line asking for help. Both of them have issues that are holding themselves back from living a dream life and creating their own business. The first is a lady who is a very talented artist, but is struggling to find a way to market her art to the world in a way that will develop a constant stream of income in to her own life. And the second is from a gentleman who is struggling to find an idea that would make a great business for him (even though as you see there is one sitting right under his nose already) Lets read the first email from Jenny Kimble: Hi David and friends! I am literally listening to you most recent podcast right now, I love it and all of your other ones are so inspiring as well. I need help please! I am an artist, and I want to be an artist full time or have a shop or something that I can do that is creative,  where I can paint all day and sell my work. Im willing  to do anything to be happier for myself and my family. Help! So 6 years ago when I started painting I mainly used acrylic paint and had a very abstract focus. But as I evolved I did so much research on how to use the paint in different ways and did so much experimenting that my style changed from only abstract, to abstract and illustrations combined using many mediums and materials. I had a stent of being obsessed with refurbing furniture and still do a bit of that as well on the side. I continue to grow and right now am trying to get a coloring book going as well as boost a new etsy shop for canvases, commissions and possibly pet portraits.  My instagram id is @jennykimbleart and you can find me under that name as well on Facebook.   And now the second from George: I hope everything is great. I love your show! I just started to listen to podcasts about 2 months ago because I was looking for a way to not get bored at my cubicle. Why the most obvious easy thing you can do, might just be what you should be building a business around. Why a business is 50% what you want to do, and 50% what you customer is looking for. and lastly…. Why going niche is the key to getting rich. Market to a tight group and start solving their problems.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who really is blazing a path across the world, being uniquely her and helping people everywhere to find love and amazing relationships. Now you might expect that the introduction will talk to you about Californian beaches, yoga retreat and other such things. But by now, as you well know, is not what we do at Join Up Dots. Instead we like to start with the words of the lady herself who says  "I was a rebel in my teenage years. At 18 years old, I served in the intelligence unit of the IDF. It taught me discipline and responsibility. Soon after my service ended, my free spirit took me to Japan. Living in this magical place for 3.5 years was better than the best sushi you have ever had. But I knew that life had more to offer, I dreamed of becoming the next Angelina Jolie and moved to NYC to study acting. When I started getting minor roles in independent films, my dream seemed within reach. It wasn’t all easy. I’d endured a crippling bout of depression that lasted for years after escaping an abusive relationship. I did everything I could to mend my heart and regain my strength. The process of rising like a phoenix from my own ashes, was my catalyst for becoming a coach and helping others in the same way  I was helped. Sometimes, you have to go through great pain and difficulty to unwrap your true gifts." And isn't that what we see every single day in Join Up Dots, the bad stuff is the gold, and the good stuff is well.....just that, good. Nice to live through, but doesn't really teach you anything. And now with her coaching business, podcast, and testimonials growing daily it is without a doubt clear to everyone that this lady needed the tough times to become who she is today.  So when did she realise that her dreams of a youngster were not actually the dreams that the adult should cling to? And where do people go wrong when trying to find love? Trying too hard, or not trying at all? Well  lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Orion Talmay Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Orion Talmay such as: We discuss how we all are masculine and feminine energies, and how we can channel these to gain different results from what we would normally receive. Orion shares how she found her partner, after having a breakthrough at a Tony Robbins course..and what happened in a hot air balloon. and lastly…. Why we would all look ourselves in the mirror and say "I love you" no matter what has gone right or wrong in our lives. Acceptance is such a major part to finding your true self.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free podcast is a lady who like so many of us decided that she wanted something in life, and then found out that she hated it once it was achieved. As she says in her own words “My lifelong goal was to be a manager. I hit the corporate fast track and became a manager in record time – and found out I hated it! The long hours, corporate politics and endless budget meetings drained my energy and enthusiasm for life. What I really wanted, I decided, was a life where I could make my husband and kids my top priority – so I quit the corporate world to run my own business. I built and ran several businesses but something was still missing.” That statement is so interesting to me on so many levels, which we will discuss on the show. But our guest worked on living a life with status and prestige, but then changed direction. So she became an entrepreneur which is the direct opposite to where she was and still it wasn’t right. These decisions seem to be directed by her head, or her survival instincts, yet once she listened to her heart, and really listened to what the old blood pumper was telling her then it all came together for her. And now she works with clients all over the world in such wonderful places as Holland, Belgium, Australia, U.K., Hong Kong and more! She has coached and mentored hundreds of entrepreneurs helping them create 6 figure businesses and beyond. Even achieving six figures in one day. So does she look back at her career in corporate land and thank the gods that even though she was climbing up the wrong ladder, it still taught her the skills to build her own ladder and start climbing again? And how does she balance this increased success with also being a Mum and Wife. Could she see a time when once again the ladder turns out to be wrong? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to joining up the dots, with the one and only Val Bullerman. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Val Bullerman such as: How she struggled with depression for twelve years, but now makes a decision everyday to be happy. Why we must realise our personal value to what we can bring to the world if we are going to achieve true greatness. Why we should never try to guess what people will be able to afford for your products. Quote your price and let it fly. And lastly…. And why Oprah Winfrey creeps around the woods of America when you least expect it….who would have thought!!!

Life shouldn't be hard, should it?

We have so many experiences waiting for us.

We have so many places that we can visit.

We can have so many laughs, jokes, and generally fun times that swe should be walking around with a huge smile everyday!

But do you see many people walking around with a huge smile?

Not very often I would have thought, because people are so wrapped up in the effort of everything.

Last night I had a problem. I couldn't see what i should record for today's episode of Join Up Dots.

All week I had thought long and hard about the subject, but inspiration hadn't hit at all.

“Ohhhh what can I do??”...my mind stressed “My listeners need an episode of the show, and I have podcasting block”

So what I did was nothing, and instead just went to bed and slept on the problem, until I woke up and BOOM and idea was there waiting for me.

You see, i made life easy for myself. And so why do we do this? Why do we think that everything is effort and hustle? I suppose it goes back to wanting to look like we are hardworking and industrious, instead of lazy so and so’s!

I suppose it is also linked to wanting other people to be impressed by the work we are doing, even if it's not the type of work we want to do. We want to shine, and by floating through life doing the minimum and having a good time how can we possibly shine? And that my listeners is the problem…...we aren't allowing ourselves to shine because we are not doing what we can do best...we are doing what we find hardest. Total madness in every way. So how do we overcome this? How do we change the habits of a lifetime and start creating a future for ourselves that is super fun, and well easy. Well...one of the best ways is to ask our friends and colleagues what they think we do best. What they think we excel at every time they see us...and you will be surprised at what they say. “We love the way that you can make us feel good” “We love the way that you are so organised” We love the way that you are able to pack a suitcase like nobody else we know” What??? “Those little things”, you will cry “That's just what I do” Exactly...it's just what you do, but what other people can't do and that this where you should be heading in life. Look for the super talents that are so unbelievably easy for you and make that your focus and see how your life changes. Life will never be hard again!

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with a skill that most people could use, even if they think they dont need it. He is the CEO of a premier ghostwriting agency, Speak It To Book, and is an expert at establishing a person as a thought leader by turning their ideas into a book, using less than 24 hours of their time. He fuses publishing, ghostwriting, and new generation marketing industries in a powerful and personal way, and has earned half a million through his Book Funnel Method and aims to double/triple his clients' revenue. He is a published author, an Amazon #1 best-seller, winner of the prestigious Genesis Contest for fiction writers, graduate of the CWG's highest level, teacher at conferences across the nation, and former award-winning journalist of numerous star athletes and musicians, including Derek Jeter and Roger Clemons. But this of course is his professional blurb as you dont get to where you are today without a journey of many, many dots. And this was certainly the case with todays guest who after leaving Western Washington University with a BA in Journalism, he started his writing career by covering the New York Yankees for the 2007 season, before relesaing three of his own books. So words were his passion, and fusing that with his love in seeing his clients dreams come true with his ghost writing prowess and he is a man loving life. So even if someone is a great writer, could they still benefit from the skills of a ghostwriter? And where do people go wrong - not having the killer idea, or overwriting and actually killing that killer idea? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Caleb Breakey Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Caleb Breakey such as: Caleb shares the story of how he became an overnight success in ghostwriting, which actually took ten years of hard toil and stress. Similar story to most entrepreneurs.   We discuss how so many people want  to target the microwave community that want success within a few weeks, knowing that they instead of the years that success is built on. Why now is the best time ever to launch a book, because obscurity is not an issue. Totally different ballgame  from just a few years ago. and lastly…. Why we both believe that the best way to create a product or sales funnel is by choosing two people that are rocking and rolling and then deconstructing the breadcrumbs that they have left for us. Clarity and focus is the key to success.

Do tech startup rock your world, and the thought of creating your own really excite you?

Well my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is the founder of Acuity Scheduling, the slickest way for businesses to automate and manage their appointments online, allowing clients to schedule themselves.

Acuity Scheduling supports over 50,000 businesses of all sizes, from people working for themselves to major corporations with thousands of employees. Their Customer Support is unmatched in this industry as they focus on easy & pain-free scheduling with one on one support as they help their client’s businesses grow and thrive. He is a self-professed tech geek and espresso maniac (a word he does not use lightly) who wholeheartedly believes that business should be fun, and that shines out on everything that I have seen from todays guest From his Linkedin profile that simply states "I enjoy every day by working on the things I love." To the way that he hires ""Instead of asking for a resume, we actually ask for a love letter. What they say in the love letter, and how they phrase it and show off their personality, is the single most important way that we screen for fit within the company. But how did he take this fun loving approach and build something so needed by business across the world? Well it all started close to home, when he watched the struggles his mom was having running her business As he says "My mom is a massage therapist. She was self-employed for the longest time. I ended up seeing her going back and forth with clients, reminding them, getting calls that, “Gertrude just got her kidney stones removed, so I won’t be able to come in,” and all these little stories. There were things that weren’t really her job. She was spending so much time on the phone beforehand and after hand and scheduling appointments that I thought that there had to be a better way. That’s where Acuity was born." Find people pain points. Solve that problem and BOOM you have a business on your hands. Which makes it seem a lot more simpler than it really is, but is still just about right. So when did he realise that his fledgling product was not just going to be something his Mom used, and start to want to market it in the right way? And what was the tipping point that allowed it to take hold and stand on its own two feet in the business world? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Gavin Zuchlinski Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Gavin Zuchlinski such as: Why Gavin spends more time on the customer service than he should do, but enjoys it and finds out much more about how he can improve his service because of these conversation at the ground level. We discuss how a tech startup needs to always have a time of quiet growth, to allow for the feedback, development and customer service to join forces in a timely way. Gavin shared a fascinating story of the time that he wanted to actually kill Acuity Scheduling, and the reasons behind that decision. Why focus is so hard when creating a new start up product, especially for any new tech startup. Ignore the new shiny objects, get your head down, and work on your vision.  and lastly…. Gavin shares why he doesnt have a Facebook account, and the reasons he feels that the world is starting to turn against Mr Zuckerbergs platform.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who believes one hundred percent in the words of Joseph Campbell (Follow your bliss and the Universe will open doors, where there were only walls.) But for many years her thoughts were driven by expectations far from remarkable, She was solid, dependable and in a career which was nothing more than traditional. As she says “I became a senior high school science teacher, driven by my passion for teaching about health and the human body. I loved and excelled in my work, and thought I would retire from this position in my elderly years. However, after a deeply transformative and unexpected personal and spiritual awakening that began in 2006, I ended up resigning from my teaching position and officially retiring in 2009. Having just come out of my 20s, and driven to never have a “job” or work in any traditional setting again. I wanted to be responsible for my own destiny and was not interested in conforming to the cookie-cutter standards and expectations set out by society. And so despite everyone’s objections to me leaving a secure job that I loved, I was driven by the voice within that was hard to ignore if I was going to be true to myself and live in alignment with my passions and values.” And so with no great plan, but hustle, passion and the ability to open doors that even the universe couldn’t, she is now the creator of the Healthytarian lifestyle, based on fresh thinking, smart eating and mindful living to empower individuals who wish to take a deeply holistic approach to their wellness. She has also created video shows on her two web channel networks EBTV and Healthytarian, that feature her own teaching and other guest experts to inspire, empower and motivate people into positive action. So when she decided to walk out of her career did she have any idea that this was the direction that she would go for? And although going great now, was there a time when she might have been persuaded to go back into full-time employment? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Evita Ochel

In today’s episode of Join Up Dots we spend time looking at whether we should a business plan when starting a business.

Should you plan it all out when you first start or instead make it up as you go along?

Well there are so many nuggets of gold in this episode you will want to grab a pen and paper and take notes for sure. Ready?

Dear David, It’s your favourite Hungarian listener again. Last time it gave me such a good feeling that you started your episode talking about my review. It made my day that I heard that I’d made yours. So today I’ve listened to the episode with Milana Leshinsky about ‘Simplicity’. You both have agreed on that we – the newbies in business – shouldn’t even write business plan cause we have no idea who to follow and what we can achieve. I am on a different opinion. I think that if I find a company that I like and it’s working then it’s better to follow cause WE HAVE NO IDEA. So someone who has already experiences running a business knows better and would give us a clue, right? Also, we can learn from other apps – how they’ve reached their target audience. The other thing is that I’m finishing my part sooner then my business partner. I’m responsible for the design, figuring out the structure of the app and what the user should see and how they want to use and I’m also writing the business plan (!) :D. I think it is important to summarize what we are building for whom, when and why. But he is responsible for all the technology part, like programming the app and building a web server (if there is such a thing). So the question is if I should help him with his tasks or we should stick to the basic roles and I can improve my part. So by the time he is finishing the prototype I will already have several plans what to do with it. But do we have time in such a field? Or should we involve more people – ones who know more about programming? But then it’s risky that we are loosing control. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, David!

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who asks a great question. “Would you invest 5 minutes a day to achieve a higher level of success? Worldwide, countless real estate agents, entrepreneurs, sales professionals, business owners and others have said YES! If they can do it, you can too! You only have to invest 5 minutes a day to achieve real results. Invest your first 5 minutes a day in reading and sharpening your skills, and this one step can put you on the fast track to success in your life and business. Many masters and experts have shared their wisdom through stories; learning from these experienced leaders by reading their words is how you, too, can achieve personal and professional transformation. Success is achieved by getting into action immediately and applying the principles learned. Applied knowledge leads to success. But of course success isn’t as easy as this. Success is built on hard work, failures, stumbles and “Aha moments” that lead us to where. And that is certainly the case with todays guest who began her real estate career developing residential lots with the Trammel Crow Company in Dallas, Texas. She then worked in commercial real estate with The Staubach Company in the Washington, DC Metro area. Before moving to northern Virginia, and completing a Masters Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Her BA is from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri – her hometown. Through the HBC Group, she then launched Community Charity Champions to raise funds for local non-profit groups and was awarded by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce for the Social Corporate Responsibility Award for 2012. So this lady has hustled, and worked her way to where she is now able to see that just five minutes a day can make all the difference. But how did she discover the five minute rule? And where do people go wrong? Not being intentional with their actions, or simply being to hurried to actually make the right decisions? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Karen Briscoe Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Karen Briscoe such as: Why it is so important to start with five minutes a day to focus on health, mindset, fitness whatever you want. But it helps you become intentional with your actions. Karen talks about how the book becoming real was as much as a surprise to her than anything else she has done in her life. The dots joined up and presented her with the opportunity We talk about how people always use a lack of time as the reason for not doing something. However we all have the same time, the question is do you want to do it or not? and lastly…. Why Karen believes that action will help you find out so much quicker if something is working or not. Dont try to double guess, just do.

Personal Finance Expert Pete Matthew Shows Us How To Sort Out The Money

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who quite frankly I should have invited onto the show years ago.

He has been on my radar for awhile, but for some reason or not has not been given the opportunity to join up  his dots. He is a man who has blended so many vitally important skills being used in the online world today into a rocking and rolling business.

He is a Financial Planner, Podcaster, Video Blogger, Social Media Trainer. Managing Director of Jacksons Wealth Management, and best of all can teach us how to take control of our cash in ways that simply are life changing. As he says "I am a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Planner providing fee-based holistic financial planning advice in Penzance, West Cornwall. I am also an award-winning podcaster and video blogger. My passion is to spread the word that anyone can take control of their personal finances. I am fulfilling this passion via my financial education website and podcast, MeaningfulMoney. Through video, podcasting and social media I am reaching thousands of people every week with my simple financial planning message I set out to provide simple, accessible financial planning information to the masses, and decided that video might be a good way to do this, and through trial and error, built a site full of basic instructional video. Through my work with this site, I was awarded IFALife's Social Media Financial Adviser of the Year award 2010 and I won the Professional Adviser Financial Education award in both 2011 and 2012. I also received the Scottish Widows award for Industry Innovation in 2014, and was named UK Podcast of the Year in 2015. This is great stuff, and will of course make a great episode. So what made him continue through the trial and error stages of video content creation, when most people would have said "I'll just do what I am already doing...its easier?" And where do people go wrong with their money issues? Not looking after the money they already have, or being unaware of what is available to them out there in the big wide world? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr Pete Matthew. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Peter Matthew such as: How he started with the concept of his podcast as simply something to do as he fancied it.....and little by little has turned it into a monster. Why so many people can start a podcast, but in fact so many podcasters should actually be stopped from doing it and the reasons why. Pete shares how he managed to find the right business partners to hep him scale the business, and why he blended friends and business (which so many people are frightened off). and lastly…. We share the top three steps for getting your accounting system in place when you start creating a new business. And they are not as hard as they might seem at all.

Book Launches can be a nightmare, but not with the book launch king on your side.

Today’s guest is a special man to have on today’s episode, which is the official 500th interview that I have recorded. Not of course the 500th show we have released, but the 500th time that I have sat down with a mover and shaker to record an interview for the show. And what makes it even more special is this guy was the first interviewee that I ever recorded with nearly two years ago. Yep, when I was nothing more than a man with a dream to become a podcaster, with no profile, confidence, social platform, then if it wasn’t for him then there was a good chance that the show wouldn’t be around today. So send all your complaints to him as he could have nipped it all in the bud right at the very beginning Now on that first episode we talked about how he had left the military with a desire to travel the world and create a business for himself on his own terms. How he would sit on his bed in his baracks and start creating something that he could show to the world and be proud off. But wow, hasn’t it all changed since we last spoke, as it now seems that not only does he have the belief in what he can achieve, but also the world does too. As he is creating products, podcasts, books and income faster and faster. Such as the Publishers’ Empire, a comprehensive publishing training program, community and book launch platform, which holds over 100 HD training videos, a private, 24/7 forum, weekly small group coaching, exclusive expert interviews with today’s top self-publishers, marketers, and more, copy-and-paste book marketing and sales scripts, dozens of book templates, and much, much more. And those three last words are the key to his increasing success “Much, much more” He is seeing the world differently. He is acting differently And he is playing to his super talents, and where he lacks, finding the super talents of others to deliver much much more. So when did it really start to speed up and in the words of the comedian Steve Martin “He become so good that he couldn’t be ignored any more” And when he looks back at the version of himself, sitting on his army bed, was he close to what he wanted to be, or is that now a distant version of what he now wants to become? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots for the second time with the one and only Mr Tom Morkes. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty subjects as: Why in his opinion it is so important to invest in the initial effort to growing a business and not taking short cuts to success. Why his Dad still thinks it’s time for him to go out and get a real job (He has employees now Mr Morkes Senior…this is a real job!) How he travelled around the world building his business, but now has found a home base in Aspen Colorada where he is creating his strategic launch businesses Why mindset is so important to build as quickly as possible, as you cannot hold the belief of others unless you hold your own belief in yourself. And lastly………. Why Tom’s children will have such an opportunity to create their own lives and income, as their Dad will instil a respect for entrepreneurship from the start.

Break The Rules To Make Success In Your Life - Fast!

Today's episode of Join Up Dots, has been inspired by a lovely lady named Amy O'Brien. Amy connected with us via Facebook after seeing a video that was posted by David Ralph the host of Join Up Dots. Amy, mentioned that she was desperate to leave her life in finance and would like nothing more than to create a life coach business but is struggling to overcome the mental roadblock of getting the business off the ground. She feels that she needs qualifications She needs a track record of success. She thinks she needs everything to be lined up ready to rock. But of course as we see everyday on Join Up Dots, and this is the whole theme of the show, you make it up as you go along. You start your business and build the experience as you go. Nothing and I mean nothing can replace experience. So in this episode of Join Up Dots, we not only answer this problem, but we also tackle another quite unusual question posed by a listener in Australia. "Good morning David and everybody at join up dots. Thank you so much for creating the amazing Join Up Dots and all the episodes. The guests that you have on are quite simply, eclectic, inspiring and motivational. What I love about Join Up Dots is even though the guest may have been on other podcasts, the information you draw out of them is the kind of stuff that I want to hear. So a question for you if you would be kind enough to answer it David on one of these shows? I started an online business at about the same time I guess that you started Join Up Dots, selling surfing equipment and diving apparatus. The business has grown to$ 250000 turnover per year and has left me with a lifestyle that I could only dream about. My question to you is after all the hustle, after all the struggle I've now found the dreamlife a bit flat. I thought being retired at age 36 would be the dream but now I'm wondering what to do with myself. Of course I could start another business but I feel that I would just be in the same position again do you have any suggestions Thank you Sam Logan Gold Coast Australia.

Simplicity can be so hard to create in business, unless you know todays guest.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is passionate about business, helping people, but also having a life away from business. And that my friends is so important, as business is important but not at the sacrifice of our own lives and happiness. She is an entrepreneur, business strategist, and a marketing mentor to coaches, authors, and speakers and also the founder of the Simplicity Circle, whose mission is to help entrepreneurs succeed and grow, while keeping their business simple. Milana came from Soviet Ukraine 25 years ago as a classical musician with zero knowledge of the business world, and has built her million-dollar coaching business from home part time, while raising her two children. And if you think that this was all some amazing masterplan then think again, as she began her career  teaching music theory and history to 3-5 graders in a specialty music school in Kiev, Ukraine. Followed by a quick stint in an Insurance company, and then working as a web designer before starting her own business.   She did the work that she thought she would love before finding the one that appears to light her up inside bigtime. She is the creator of Recurring Revenue Revolution, author of “Coaching Millions,” co-founder of JV Insider Circle, and inventor of telesummit. She constantly strives to stay on the cutting edge in the coach, author, speaker space, and when she’s not working on her business, she writes music and enjoys Latin ballroom dancing. So how has she managed to blend a super successful business, whilst still being their for the kids and herself? And has she always managed to get the balance right, or like most of us ploughed into burnout before seeing the light? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Milana Leshinsky Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Milana Leshinsky such as: Why simplicity in business is such a key part to the success of all businesses. Relax into the process and see where it takes you. How Milana never once went to coaching school, although that never stopped her being a mentor to other coaches. Don't be held back by qualifications...can you solve the problems of your clients? and lastly…. Why its so important to find the systems in you business which will allow you to walk away from it. Nobody wants to create a monster in their lives.

Are you in your comfort zone, or out of it?

Well that is what we discuss in todays episode with my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview.

He is a Professor at Brandeis University’s International Business School, with a joint appointment in the Department of Psychology. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and M.A. in Psychology from Harvard University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in International Affairs from Brown University. Which is all very impressive of course, but what we love about our guest, and why we are about to talk to him on the show is his personal mission He helps people develop the insights and courage necessary to act outside their personal and cultural comfort zones when doing important, but challenging, tasks in work and life. He is the author of the new book Reach with Penguin Random House about acting outside your comfort zone – why it’s so hard, how we avoid doing it, and how to be more successful at it. So why is it that the world is willing to dream big, but then unwilling to take the kind of action that makes it happen? And are there small steps that we can all take to achieve the kind of life we want, or do we have to just jump and hope for the best? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Professor Andy Molinsky Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Andy Molinsky such as: Why we are generally frightened to do the things that then start to interest us the most. We can work our way around the fear by increasing our knowledge in that subject. Andy explains how most people will have a roadblock in their lives that can be overcome by finding the benefit within the task. and lastly…. How so many people will struggle with transferring their personal skills across borders due to their upbringing. What they are totally comfortable with can suddenly seem very different in another country.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, is Dov Baron an Elite Mind Strategist specializing in the Psychology of High Performance Leadership. He serves as a mentor and adviser to corporate, creative and personal leaders. His company Baron Mastery Institute is the only resource for training tomorrow’s leaders in the implementation of “The C.O.R.E Affluence System for Leadership”. Being born in the UK in the late 1950’s, even as a child he became fascinated with the undercurrent of human psyche. By the time he was twenty-one he had left his home country to travel and study many spiritual philosophies under a variety of spiritual masters. In June 1990 while free climbing in British Columbia, at approximately 120 feet, he reached for a rock that dislodged a bigger rock. This rock hit him in the face and sent him hurling onto the jagged rocks below. It was a tragic moment, a moment that might have ended his life, and in fact, in some ways it did. Now he describes that moment like this, “On that day I fell 120 feet from a self-imposed pedestal and landed on my ego.” It was the end of the person he had been and in many ways the birth of “The Accidental Guru.” I love this story, even before we have started the show, as it proves that there is no right time to start something, other than now. It’s you that makes the decision to embrace your true self, and not the version of yourself that is being shown to the world. And our guest is doing just that and through his books, coaching, and leadership blog he is doing just that. So what was the person like before the accident, and does he look back with fondness or frustration as to the path he was on? And is this mission one that he feels led to do, almost a mission bigger than himself? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Dov Baron

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is known as one of the top Online Marketers in Australia, and thrives on teaching people, and delivering targeted leads to his customers. He started with his own computer support business in 2003, and then moved to online businesses and has been working from home full time since 2008. During that time he has  became a top 100 Clickbank affiliate, earning commision on automatic pilot. However it hasn't always been plain sailing as a couple of setbacks he has dealt with over the years included having his Google Adwords account suspended (90% decrease in income overnight!), and his Youtube account also (hundreds of videos and traffic and sales gone overnight). So how did he get past those "Oh my god, why is this happening to me...?" moments that we all have to deal with as we build the dream? Well we will find out, but he has certainly done just that, as he is back on top (where his efforts deserve) And now he has pivoted and helps businesses create lead generation campaigns on Facebook and Google that bring in at least a 5:1 return on investment. So when he looks back on his first computer business, does he smile knowingly at what he thought was success back then? And what is the biggest lesson that he has had forced on him over the years, which he never ever lets go off as he continues to move forward with his business? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. John Lagoudakis Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John Lagoudakis such as: Why it is so important to have email lists that are targeted for the customer...speak to them in the language that they understand. Why John recalls going to University but hating it due to choosing an interest that just didn't light him up inside. Always go with what feels good and not what you think is good. Why all success starts with digging downwards. You cannot build success without the hole to sink your foundations - Brilliant advice. and lastly…. How Johns minimises the risk of marketing for his clients by working closely with them - before getting paid himself. He states this makes him work harder for both himself and his clients.

Amazon Selling Is Where Its Happening, Thought about Amazon UK?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who boldly tackled the side hustle whilst maintaining his role as a Director of Kurbis Engineering before travelling the world . And that my friends is what we strongly suggest on Join Up Dots. Start creating your online venture whilst still working for a living until that moment when you can step away and go for it bigtime. And today's guest is certainly going for it big time with his new platform teaching the world to smash it on Amazon Europe. Before starting his Amazon Europe journey, our guest had zero experience with running an online business. After university, he joined the corporate world in London but rapidly realized that it was not for him and so after launching his first Amazon brand in 2014, he was soon able to quit his job to travel the world and network with other successful Amazon sellers from around the globe. Today, he's generating 6 figures of revenue per month from over a dozen products in Europe. His experience led him to develop a specific, step-by-step system to find success with every product launched and now has  developed his company FBA Frontiers because so many sellers he met had great businesses on Amazon.com, but had completely dismissed Europe. He's since made it his mission to help sellers overcome the barriers to entry in the EU and find success by bringing their products into Europe. Interesting stuff, and I am sure many of you out there will be scribbling down notes through this show. So what was the first product that bhe brought to market that really showed that he was on to something big? And do people need to create the product themselves or can they jump on the back of the affiliate route? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr John Cavendish Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John Cavendish such as: How John started his business, by working around his full time employment for just a few hour each day and why he feels that you can do the same too. Why it is so important to surround yourself with the most positive people that you can find, which John has managed to do in abundance and is now reaping the rewards bigtime. Why having an exit plan in a business is such a good idea, as it will allow you to transition to what you want in life instead of getting trapped by what you have created. and lastly…. Why he feels that Amazon UK is such an amazing opportunity for anyone nowadays. How many businesses have a process that can be followed step by step for a new entrepreneur.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who has been building her entrepreneurial business since she was a young twelve year old girl interested in computers. And as we show you on the introduction and the show, a career is built by many different steps. Many different phases until you get to what looks like the natural place. The thing that you were born to do. Back in 2002 she launched her first website, a manga scanlation site (translating comics from Japanese & English into Polish) and grew it to 40K views in under 5 months and even managed a virtual staff of people who volunteered to support the growth. Jump on seven years, and she was then running a successful photography business, and this was her life for seven years, before stepping back into the corporate world when….as she she says in her own words “I worked my tail off in the marketing agency world, including a stint at a corporate ad agency as community manager and social media/email marketing strategist. This is when I got really obsessed with branding, business development, list-building and all the ways biz owners can create consistent revenue without losing their shit.” The first dots had been well and truly placed, and now it was a case of joining them up with the creation of her own self named Digital Marketing Agency. This is a successful digital marketing consulting & education company where she helps modern businesses and entrepreneurs to grow their presence, make more money, and truly blow up online so they can become leaders in their field. And once again as she says “I freaking LOVE it!” So did she always know that she was gently placing the foundations in place as she went, or was each phase in her life supposed to be her legacy work? And what does she find is the hardest part of growing a business? The sales, marketing, or the hours that it takes to get it off the ground? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Kamila Gornia

In today's world there is a greater and greater interest in entrepreneurs and what makes successful entrepreneurs. We like to think that we can copy their blueprint for success. We like to think that we can look at how they did it, and by being cunning cut a few corners and get their much quicker than they did. But we cant, and more importantly we shouldn't ever want that, as we couldnt then class ourselves as a successful entrepreneur. You see these folk are made, they make themselves. These folk are given the pieces to the puzzle and simply fit them all together. They have to make the machine, to make the puzzle, to then fit the prices all together. They need to work, hustle, dream, persevere, accept failures and go for it bigtime. There is no blueprint to what makes a successful entrepreneur. but there are character traits which we discuss in todays podcast episode. 1: You Have To Have A Vision Before you can ever hope to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to have a vision of what you want to achieve in life. You cant ever hope to achieve something unless you know in your heart what it will feel, taste, smell like. You need to get under the skin of what its all about so you can quite simply start working towards it with the feeling that you are living it already. That is what I did with Join Up Dots Podcast. I wanted to be a successful entrepreneur with their own top ranked podcast, so I submerged myself in the podcasting world. I listened to podcasts. I spoke to other podcasters, and aI created a vision of what it would feel like to have a top show. 2: Be Willing To Work At It? Nothing will ever be given to you on a plate if its is something that is really worth having. And that is never truer than in the entrepreneurial space. Richard Branson wasn't given an airline, he worked at making it happen. Presidents dont just get into power, they work their way up the ranks until they are at the top table. And all successful entrepreneurs know that work is where it starts, and the rest of the world look for the quick route. 3: Network, Hustle and Reach Out To Others Most people starting a business will sit tin their office behind their own computers and just bash out the work. They work in silo, frightened to stick their head above their pc screen as they haven't got to where they want to be. But this is a huge mistake, and if you want to be a successful entrepreneur then you need to start surrounding yourself with other successful entrepreneurs. You will pick up their habits.  You will understand the work that has gone into getting them to where they want to be. And best of all you will start to realise that you are already where you want to be, talking to successful entrepreneurs on a level playfield. They aren't any better than you, they have just stared earlier to build their business. 4: Have More Failures Than You Can Deal With. Tying into what we have already seen on this page, and through the podcast, failures are part of the game. You cannot hope to be the best that you can hope to be inf you are unwilling to accept failure as part of the game. Successful entrepreneurs will be able to share stories of lying on the bathroom floor crying "What did I do to deserve this, God?" Well what they did, was try something that they didnt have all the answers for, or the skills for. And they failed because of it. But through those failures you will learn, and become stronger and you will come back ready to claim the success that your efforts deserve. And that my friends is what all successful entrepreneurs now. Its up to you to find the success that you want.

The last time we had todays guest on the show was way back on episode of 371 of the show when we introduced him as a New Zealander that has started, built, bought and sold half a dozen businesses in a range of industries across two continents. He has hustle flooding though every vein, as he has powered himself to being classed as one of the most connected people in Asia, whilst enduring his fair share of painful crashes too! He was the owner of Fitness-Buffet a company delivering employee wellness solutions in 11 countries, and he is also the CEO of Entrevo Asia, a company that runs 40 week Growth Accelerator programs allowing executives and business owners to become a ‘Key Person of Influence’ in their industry. A company whose vision is a world full of entrepreneurial people solving meaningful problems. Now though in just a few years things have changed and he is now the Head of Asia for the Unity Group. A business focused on the simple As they say "Our function is to provide corporate finance, corporate secretarial, group legal advice and carry out the acquisitions process for incoming agglomerated businesses in three simple steps. 1. Create or source an appropriate Holding Company for the Agglomeration™. 2. Select mature, profitable, and debt-free businesses (a.k.a. subsidiaries) for the Agglomeration™. 3. Acquisition – under a special purpose vehicle (“SPV”) – of the respective subsidiaries by the
Holding Company through the issuance of public-listed shares in Holding Company to original
owners of the subsidiaries. As they say "Unity Group exists to enable entrepreneurs to scale and solve bigger and more meaningful problems. Their mission "To work with great entrepreneurs and change makers to scale their businesses, solve bigger problems and connect investor capital with those who can deliver the best results." Right this is serious stuff, so let's start digging around to find out more not just about this venture but also the man himself. How has he found himself creating more and more opportunities for himself without getting a serious case of burnout? And would he have seen himself doing this the last time he was on Join Up Dots, or does he just go with the flow and see what happens? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Callum Laing Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Callum Laing such as: How Callum overcomes the dip in the business process, that everyone has to go through when growing a business. Callum explains why he never invests in his own ideas....so he always tries to pre-sell the idea before putting too much time into it. Why it is so important to surround yourself with the level of knowledge that you need, but just can't gain yourself. Don't think that you are a master of everything. and lastly…. Why the value proposition is so important in every regard of growing a business. You have to work out how you can over deliver before you ever hope to start taking back.

Action taking and taking the right action is the key to success. But how do you know what things that you should be doing?

Well my guest today knows. She is a lady who has developed an online identity that is fun, inspiring and very different from what is out there. So one look at her website and I thought "Yeah this is something that I need to know more about" as it plays to the Join Up Dots message of authenticity. She is the founder of The Action Incubator, sought-after speaker, and Bestselling Author of 7 Principles for a More Productive and Fulfilling Life. But more than that is she is a lady that seems to have cracked the code of knowing who she is, what she is, and what her clients want and need. You see if you define yourself clearly to the world then the world understands that you are the answer to their problems and will seek you out. Which makes lead generation, income production and fun swirl around your business like a tropical storm, blowing cash into your bank account like magic. But of course where hs is know was not where she started, and like all our guests she has been on a Leaving the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Administration she worked from 2005 to 2013 for several companies tracking goals, ensuring that systems were in place, and making things run smoothly. And so it wasn't a surprise when she took all these skills and created her own business, helping entrepreneurs and businesses across the world to systematize their own workflow and find spaces to work on money production instead of just fire fighting all the time. And it certainly looks like she is loving what she is doing, as her profile is growing across all platforms, as is her line of clients wanting to work with her. So when did she realise that she had many of the skills that she could use for herself and for her own business? And does she look back and think "I did it at the right time" or "Man, I could have done this years earlier?" Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Cat Stancik Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Cat Stancik such as: How she ended up having headshots for her business website just a few hours before giving birth....not the best time I would have thought. How she spent $80,000 in gaining an MBA in Business which led her totally in the wrong direction to where she was  actually heading. Why it is so important to know your worth in life, and why that is doubly important in business life. If you don't know your value how can you ever quote your price to your perfect client? and lastly…. Why everything in life leads you where you are today. The experience is being gained, so make sure you look for opportunities to use that experience whenever you can.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who quite simple should be loving his life. He is a creative at heart and has found his way to online success with several businesses. Leaving the University Of Southampton in 2007 with a bachelor of arts in Music you can see quite clearly how the dots have joined up. As he says “I decided to make a go of professional drumming. I spent a couple of years developing something called Online Session Drumming, where I’d record for bands and musicians around the world from my home studio. To do this, I had to learn to market myself effectively by building websites, getting to the top of Google, and learning how to advertise. I wrote a book introducing this way of recording which got extensive coverage in the drumming press, filmed 19 DVDs, ran 2 newsletters and membership clubs, and the method went on to become a way of life for hundreds of musicians around the world. It turned out that I quite enjoyed the advertising and websites bit of the job, even when I got bored of the drumming. My next door neighbour at the time was a plasterer in need of extra work so I built him a website. The effect this website had on him spurred me to start JobDoneWebsites, which went on to become the UK’s leading tradesman-only marketing company.” You see our guest was willing to put himself into environments where he was required to do serious upskilling on every turn. He didn’t have the answers but was willing to that extra mile to make those answers himself. And upon developing those skills, he was actually building the foundations to what he has achieved today. Presently he is the head ninja at Exposure Ninja an online marketing company that has grown to 35 Ninjas in less than 3 years. An expansion which has been exhilarating/tiring/fun/inspiring/hard work. The results he gets for his clients are he says are “Sick, and we’re hungry and passionate to help more dominate in competitive markets online.” So is this the business that will be his legacy work, or just the start of other ventures? And what was it about the entrepreneurial life that so appealed against going the normal route and entering the corporate world? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Tim Cameron-Kitchen

Todays episode of Join Up Dots is a solo show, where your host David Ralph talk about what he considers the four key success principles in life. You see he has been through a hell of a journey and sometimes you need to stop and reflect on what is really important to you, and your business going forward. It's not all grind you know, or at least it shouldnt be as who wants a life that is just work all the time? But that is most certainly what so many people have day to day. Deal with the kids, keep the wife happy, take out the rubbish, dal with clients, do their tax returns, break a sweat at every opportunity until its time to go to bed. Five hours or tossing and turning and then you are back at it. A hamster on a wheel, running, running and running until you burnout. And believe me, I see this time and time again, and have actually done the same thing twice before in my own life. So in todays episode of Join Up Dots I share my insights into what I feel builds success quicker than anything else after receiving an email from a gentleman in Holland who said "David, I have listened to many shows that talk about success and how to get it and I was wondering do you have your own success principles that you follow...thank you Chris H Reed" Let's start with Success Principles One   Have Belief In Your Future And Your Actions There is no doubt in my mind that belief is the corner stone of what makes success. You have to believe that you will be able to achieve your dream, even though you dont know how you are going to do it. You have to have belief in something, and like Steve Jobs says in his famous Stanford Speech, it can be gut, intuition, karma whatever. But you have to believe in something. So surround yourself with images of people who are already doing what you want to do, and follow their blogs, email marketing whatever. Look at yourself every morning in the mirror and tell yourself "I can do this. It doesnt matter how long it will take, but I CAN DO it!" Believe that you can do it, and do everything you can to surround yourself with stuff to explode that belief network.   Grow Confidence Because Of Your Failures Not Your Successes Success is great, and successes are what we all want. But a success after success life is never going to happen. And in a funny kind of way you dont want them to happen either. You see when it comes to the success principles it's the failures that are the true winners. It's the failures that build the old hustle muscle and makes your ultimate destination even better. So don't sweat it when things go wrong. Don't scream at the heavens "Why oh Why Oh Why!!" instead look at what went wrong and learn from it, so you dont make the same mistake again. And that my friends is the second of the Join Up Dots Success Principles...grow confidence because of your failures not your successes.   Freetime = Me Time = Future Building a business is hard. Probably one of the hardest things you will ever do, and its your responsibility to look after your health as much as you do your email inbox. So take time off. Walk away from the business that you are creating and allow yourself to breath fresh air.  Spend time with your kids, and your special person. Watch TV, in fact do anything other than work, as I promise you you will be better for it. A human is nothing more than a battery that needs recharging, and by re-charging you will work better. So get the ideas flowing back into your life, enjoy yourself and take heed of the success principles part three: Freetime = Me Time = Future Start Today Not Tomorrow Deep down everyone is scared of starting something new as there is a chance that they will fail. So we put if off. We think that if we wait until tomorrow we will be in a better place to rock this thing to its core. But of course tomorrow never comes. As tomorrow becomes today and tomorrow is well....tomorrow. So the final Success principle is 100% start. It doesnt have to be perfect. It doesnt have to make sense. But start as soon as you can, as what you are aiming for is to build up momentum in your life until it does start to make sense. You are looking to build the belief that what you are doing is going to work, and that only occurs by starting. And that my friends is the four success principles as I see them in my own life, and I certainly think that you cant go far wrong by bringing them into your own. If you want your own question answered on the show then go over to Join Up Dots at either Facebook or on email: joinupdots@gmail.com

Linkedin Ads Are The Magic That All Business Needs, So Why Do Very Few Business Owners Know Anything About Them.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has built a business around a need that so many of my colleagues need. How to create laser targeted lead generation straight to the heart of the business folk across the world using LinkedIn. After our guest began advertising on LinkedIn in 2011, he quickly discovered its powerful potential for business to business (B2B) advertisers. He was so passionate about the results he was seeing, he left his job to start B2Linked in 2014. As he says " As online marketer since 2007, I’ve managed hundreds of Google AdWords campaigns. I’ve always been fascinated by the lead quality from intent-based targeting. I love the concept of being present when customers are at the bottom of the funnel, and who are ready to make a purchase. Fast forward to 2011, I was introduced to advertising on LinkedIn. Frankly, I figured that it likely wasn’t a good platform because I hadn’t heard of it before then. As I continued diving deeper into LinkedIn, I began to see the value that I felt the industry has not picked up on. In 2014 I founded B2Linked in an effort to spread the success I was experiencing through LinkedIn advertising to other companies B2Linked’s mission and vision is to share the value of LinkedIn advertising with other B2B marketers and help individuals and companies realize the value of LinkedIn as a lead generation channel, and extract more value from that channel. So is LinkedIn still a place where we hang our resumes, post articles and leave it up to the gods? Or is the world now turning away from FB and pictures of peoples cats and realising the full of business connections? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr AJ Wilcox. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with AJ Wilcox such as: Why the world havent quite grasped the power of LinkedIn Ads today, and how he knew that it was a goldmine made for him (although he was still scared to go after it too). How AJ remembers his first day in business and realised that he had to start ugly. He did this by simply getting referrals from people that he already knew. Simple is best. Why AJ feels that he has fallen in love with Linkedin Ads, and knows that building a business around love is the fast track to where we all head - the Money and lastly…. We discuss how businesses can move towards the franchise model, which then allows massive growth and also massive freedom in someones life.

Why Video Marketing Is An Amazing Business Concept is what we are going to discuss with todays guest who is just getting started in business.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who connected with me on email, and told me such a powerful story that I just had to have him on the show. And unusually for Join Up Dots, he is just getting going on his entrepreneurial journey, but in a way that you can see he is giving it a go bigtime. He isn't sitting behind a story of woe, saying well it will never happen to people like me. So let's give you what he told me, and these are in his words My name is Paul, and I am the owner of Cassus Media LLC in Pennsylvania in the U.S.   I am a U.S. Marine veteran, and a professional musician.  Although I am 24 years old (I will be 25 on October 8th), I have been through quite a bit in my life. Cassus Media is a business that I officially registered in August 2017; it was free to register here in PA since I'm a veteran, although my service was cut short due to a stupid mistake that I made.   To be honest, I had something tragic happen to me when I was 15 years old by actions made by a trusted music teacher in my life (and my neighborhood).   I held this through my Marine training, and eventually cracked under my own mental pressure, and made a stupid decision. But this - this fall from grace, something that I do not entirely blame on myself, but by the sexual scarring that occurred and the man who did it to me - did not stop me from my dreams.   Many in my position would be ashamed and become a hermit, and feel as though they are an outcast.   I was given an Other Than Honorable discharge status, something solely determined by the Colonel in command at the time (another Marine that I trained with made the same mistake, but got a higher discharge status called General Under Honorable Conditions). I let this discharge status define me for a time, and I fell into the woodworks for a while.   I felt that having lost my mother to alcoholism (who I hadn't seen since I was 6, and while serving in the Marines watched her die when I was 22), not finishing my education, and having been discharged from the U.S. military was the end of me.   Citizens in the U.S. would view me as a failure, and of course this information could harm me if they didn't know my backstory. I realized something, though:  I was still alive.  I still had a talent, and dreams I wanted to pursue.   Why should I let my mistakes stop my entrepreneurial dreams? Surely, I don't want to work in a call center anymore (which really, really tears me up inside because it's nothing related to my dreams).   But I also found a way to use this job to my advantage in a number of ways. And that is the perfect place to start the show. So is he ready to battle his way through the entrepreneurs minefield with the skills built because of his history, or because of them? And where does he see the first step towards his dreams? Creating his business, or creating the intention? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Paul Casserly  Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Paul Cassarly  such as: How he praises the military for giving him the tools and willingness to keep moving forward in his life, even though his service finished in a way he wouldnt have wanted. Paul shares his vision of what he wants to achieve in his business, and why he inherently believes you must focus on customer service first and foremost. How he took him many years to shake off the feeling of failure, by making the decision to accept what has happened and move on to his bright future. and lastly…. How he now sees that the entrepreneurial spirit has always been in his family from such an early age, and finds inspiration from is family's hustle and drive.

Jobs are made, Jobs are given, But the best Jobs dont come easy.

My guest on todays episode of the Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who like a select band of guests have decided to return again and join up more dots. Yes, back on episode 37 of Join Up Dots, when the show was just a baby, and I was finding my feet, he came on the show with his business partner of the time Mark Sieverkropp. They were building the online career advice platform Happen To Your Career, and in that discussion spoke about the hustle, early mornings, and desire that it takes to bootstrap something and take it out to the world. Happen To Your Career, is a place that is built with the owners desire, and passions being its ideal avatar. You can see that the concept would have been something that our guest would have been looking for, so he created it himself. As he says “I have always had an unusual outlook on careers. My wife Alyssa, who I met in high school, knows this to be true. I have left what others considered “good jobs” turned down job offers other people would love and any time I have wanted to make more income have simply figured out a plan and acted upon it. I have to be doing something I am excited about to be happy. Having had 8 positions in the last 10 years (including successfully self employed) has caused me to have many experiences in a short period of time.” I have owned a successful business in contracting, led others as a people and human resources professional, coached business owners and leaders to success, and helped many people develop their careers along the way. I have worked a variety of industries including: manufacturing, retail, government, food, construction and more. Everywhere I went I saw people struggling to figure out what they want to do and how to get there.” So has he got there himself. Is the platform he created truly what he wants, or is it still work in development? Like most things created by a desire to help the world will it ever be truly realised? Well lets find, as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Scott Barlow. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Scott such as: How he would love to spend sometime with Tony Hsieh, and is inspired by the big dreams and big actions that he demonstrates everyday. How difficult it is to start a business with your wife, even though you can pay them less than anyone else you could meet. Why the world is fascinated with the huge success of others and care little about the twenty years of struggle that have led to that point. And lastly…. How he recalls the struggles he had as a young man, that caused him to tackle them head-on to allow a starting point to his dreams.

We live on planet money, so why do we have so much trouble getting some of it?

Todays show is being released based on a question from a listener from Join Up Dots Hello there, A good morning to The Join Up Dots team. I have been listening to your shows for nearly 2 years now racking my brains to find a business idea. And everytime I come up with something I think to myself I can't afford this. I can't afford the website but hosting anything to get it off the ground and I seem to be going round and round in circles. Can you suggest any way that I can really bootstrap this so that I can get my idea going? I have spoken to many friends and they say it's a brilliant idea but as I say money is a huge issue and I'm too scared to put debt onto my credit card Thank you so much Jenny Castor, Millhaven, New York As you will hear from the show the quickest way to earn is to use the money we already have wisely. Most of us will simply live hand to mouth, where we use the money when we fancy it instead of making a plan to follow each month. Yeah, I know this sounds boring and the last thing that you want to do when you can be out having fun with your mates, but you only have to do this once. So in todays episode we discuss everything money and discover that we actually live in Planet Money. We just have to stop it floating away from us.

Law of Attraction Or Simply Massive Action...that is the question today.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who shows brilliantly that in life you are never too old to start building your dream. He is a airline pilot, sailor, adventurer, and an author and an avid listener of Join Up Dots. And that my friends is the golden ticket to getting on the show, to highlight your own story to the world. As he says "Following a life changing experience in my 20s, I discovered that our limiting inner beliefs often keep us tethered to mediocrity. Most people are unaware that our subconscious beliefs determine our outcomes in life, for better or for worse. When we begin to change our inner beliefs, we begin to change our outcomes. You can live the life of your dreams! It is easier than you imagine” I used the power of my subconscious mind to manifest a career as an airline pilot at age 49.  Since then, I have written three books and know I will become a successful author and ‘in demand’ speaker, using the techniques taught by Joseph Murphy, Napoleon Hill, Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, Louise Hay, Esther Hicks,  Jack Canfield, Richard Bach, and many others. So is this a man who is all woo woo and sits crossed legged and hums to himself for twelve hours a day? Not not of course, although the Law of Attraction for many has a bad reputation this is a man who made conscious decisions, changed his out look and got what he wanted in life by doing the right things everyday. And isn't that what we talk about on Join Up Dots? And so our guest went from miserable and broke, living paycheck to paycheck while working a variety of unfulfilling jobs to financially comfortable and happy. Living on a golf course in Southern California, with views to the Pacific Ocean, with his wife and two cats. So is this something that anyone can do, or does it need a team of mentors, support and years of training? And where do people go wrong, is it the personal belief, or trying something that others dont quite understand? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Robert Lawrence. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Robert Lawrence such as: How we have so many opportunities in life nowadays due to the internet that its untrue. Log on, look around and see what the world is doing - could you do the same? Why focus and visualization in our lives is so important - If we dont know where we are heading then how can we possibly arrive where we want? Robert shares how he has managed to create a life that is totally under his control. Time is so valuable if you can learn that you are the master of time. and lastly…. Why it is so important to get our of your own head, embrace looking stupid and shout out to the world "That ain't too bad really......what more can you throw at me". Once we embrace the feeling that life is what we make it, good feelings and bad then we are on our way.

Company culture and making it good for everyone. How do you do it?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with a fascinating tale of following a course in his life that is nothing but unusual. As the former director of customer and employee relations at TCC, the largest Verizon Authorized Retailer in America, our guest is no stranger to empowering employees through a powerful cultural movement. A 2016 Gallup report found that 71% of employees are not engaged at work, 60% of employees do not connect with their company’s mission, and 60% of millennials are open to different job opportunities and likely to job hop. That is a statistic that is shocking, even when most of us would nod our heads and say yeah “That sounds like me” Well today’s guest isn’t just sitting there nodding in agreement, but he is doing something about it He is trying to change that trend with his organization called “Culture of Good.” The program started when Scott Moorehead, the CEO of TCC Verizon wanted help to change the culture of his company of 3,000 employees at 800 stores across the U.S. And ever since then, this cultural movement took off and has spread across the country by helping companies inspire employees to have a positive impact in their community and the world. Our guest took that concept, and created Culture of Good, Inc. to inspire other businesses to create truly altruistic programs that can make the world a better place. He believes in order for a company’s Culture of Good to be successful and meaningful, giving back must be ingrained in the foundation of its core values. Through Culture of Good, Inc. he helps other organizations engage the hearts of their employees and empower them to make the changes they wish to see in their communities. With a huge amount of charitable enterprises benefitting from these business with a heart, does he look back and think of his time as a pastor and think “This is what I was put on this Earth to do…this was my life mission?” And why is it so hard to get past the middle management of the world, when most company owners want their businesses to operate in the same way? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Ryan McCarty. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ryan McCarty such as: Why having a workforce that is happy and encouraged on a daily basis is the easiest way to make true magic occur in a workplace. How Ryan managed to meander his way through the obstacles that occur in a boardroom to bring his mission to the fore. Why he feels that the tragedy that occurred in his life as a child was such a major part of growing into the man he is today. and lastly…. Ryan explains how they had to ask the big question of “How do we create a movement out of this a-ha moment?” every single day, to ensure that the moment was never lost in the process of living life.

Todays guest is the co-founder of OpenWorld, the world’s #1 resource for active lifestyle creators. What that means is instead of finding a job to fund your lifestyle, you create your lifestyle and then find ways to fund it. If you want to be an underwater basket weaver then work out how much you need to earn to do this, and then go out and find different ways of funding this. Be creative with the choices that you make to achieve your dreams. Don’t be pigeon holed by what people tell you is the normal route to success. Do things your way, and love every second of your life. Well todays guest has always had that entrepreneurial spirit and since the age of 9 has loved to flex his hustle muscle. And with a history entailing going from broke ramen-eating college graduate to growing a profitable online business and pursuing lifestyle design with reckless abandon. And through his many adventures around the world has been robbed, fallen from bridges and motorbikes, hugged exotic animals, and nearly died several times in pursuit of his dreams. He is now a man who literally can call the world his home, and the planet his playground. So what was about him that made him up for the challenge to brush himself down and go again when things got tough? And why would he say that the world hasn’t quite bought into the belief that they can literally create the life of their dreams? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Danny Flood Show Highlights During the episode we discussed such weighty topics such as: How Google no longer want highly educated people, but want people who are humble and aware of their weaknesses. How he journeyed through Vietnam on a motorbike intoxicated by the feeling of freedom How your vision and mission are far more important than the goals that you set for yourself. How buying an island is the dream that so many people have, but more often than not is not the end goal they should be searching for. And lastly….. How he believes in the words “How perfectionism in the unwillingness to be uncomfortable” and what they mean to him.

How To Make Money Is Our Discussion Starter Today

Welcome to todays episode of Join Up Dots which is a solo show where your host David Ralph answers a series of questions that has been sent to the show by the listeners. Most of these have either a "How Do I Make Money?" element or "How Do I Start A Business?" So lets start with the first question..... Andrew Hedley, Australia First of all, I just wanted to say how much I am loving the podcast! It helped me exit the corporate career and into this fun and crazy world of start ups. I listen to one podcast every afternoon and it is the perfect inspiration when I start to feel lost and have doubts. Thank you. Advice please - I won't go into details, but I am working on a business that people love the concept, but it's hard to see how I can monetize it. It makes me want to stop and go back to my traditional job as a real estate but my gut says that if I persist the money may just come in ways I don't know exist at the moment. As your show tells us every podcast 'you can't connect can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward'. So should I just soldier on without a concrete strategy for monitizing the idea or should I work it out before moving forward? Isaac Burke, Seattle Your podcast is so great and matches where my life is headed. I'm excited that you're podcast is a part of my journey. You have so many podcasts and I'm new to changing my mindset. Which of your podcasts should I start with? Also, the Ultra Running podcast is missing the Jim Carrey quote, it's just silent. Kim Bola from South Africa Hello David and the Join Up Dots team. Wow what an amazing show. Thank you so much thank you so much, thank you so much. I have been listening now for the last few weeks and I am astonished by your energy are you always like this or is it just for the show? Would you be kind enough to answer a question that has been bothering me over the last few weeks? You talked about taking the leap, you talk about finding the things that you want to do, and you've been talking very much about how you managed to do it. You might have answered this in an earlier episode but I would love to know when the idea to become a podcaster came to you and did you have it all planned out, as I would love to do this myself All the best Kim Bola from South Africa Hello David Love the show I would love to know what has been the greatest business idea that you have heard on the show? Could you point out one that you thought was mind blowing? Thank you John Picard, Weston-Super-Mare, England

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is an ex- American footballer, who after twelve years as a professional was in an amazing place. He played for the Houston Oilers, NFL Europe Scottish Claymores, CFL Montreal Alouettes, XFL San Francisco Demons and even the AFL. The reason he was in an amazing place, was due to the fact, once he retired as a professional he realised that he had gained an amazing insight into professional sports trauma. He had seen, and experienced the devastating effects of TBI and concussions, and knew that there was a path to transition into away from the game And that is a bridge that so many sportsman struggle with. You put your heart and soul into creating the dream life that the majority of boys crave, and then what do you do when that short career is over. Well our guest got his Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as certifications in Advanced Sports Nutrition and Concussion Assessment and ever since the movie, Concussion, came out… he made it his mission to NOT end up like my grandfather, who died from advanced dementia at 72. He has written a book, created a web class and plan on coming out with a line of supplements all to help us be healthy in mind and brain. So its all very well having insider knowledge, but how do you turn this into a profitable business that people want and need? And is there a quick fix for head injuries? Or is it a simple case of trying our hardest not to get them in the first place? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Mr John DeWitt Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John DeWitt such as: How he managed to get off the grid and disconnect from his business, and why he found that it was a bigger struggle than he imagined. Why John was quite happy to walk away from the American Football pitch even though it was such a big part of his life. and lastly…. How he transitioned from the sports arena to the entrepreneurial world, and the steps he took to create his new life.

Ultra Running Across America Was Just The Start Of It All!

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has been on the show before, but is so inspiring in so many ways its a shock that he hasnt been on again until now. He is a professional speaker, and record breaking businessman, who focuses in on Business mastery and also has the “come on guys you can do the impossible you just have to start taking action” vibe nailed down too. He can help us all get the champion mind-set and build the strength and courage to tackle the “impossible” head on. But his life didn’t start in such a positive way, as at fourteen years old he was hit head-on by a drunk driver while riding his bicycle. The neurosurgeon said, “If he survives the night, he will be a vegetable for the rest of his life.” And certainly the diagnosis looked accurate, as he was in a coma for four days, in casts and rehabilitation for a year, and suffered problematic effects lasting many years. After the accident, life was a cycle of ups-and-downs until he learned the tools and strategies he teaches today. He started his professional career as a carpenter and exceled with woodcraft, and then created his first business at age 24, when he entered into the residential contracting and real estate investment business. But it wasn’t until after a divorce whilst still a young man, did his life really start to find traction and he began to fire sparks across the world. In 2011, he decided he wanted to do something amazing. He wanted to make a difference. He wanted to leave his mark. So from a casual runner, in just nine months he went to running 2,621 miles across America joining the ranks of the most elite ultra-runners in the world. For 100 consecutive days, he ran a marathon distance, and then gave an inspirational keynote speech to at-risk groups and donated 10,000 of his books “Dream Big Act Big” to the audiences he met. He ran into New York city waving a huge American flag, surrounded by hundreds of runners, and entered the record books. And since then he has continued to provide inspiration to everyone that he meets, undertaking many challenges that so many people would look at as daunting and undoable. So what is it about the world today that sees the challenge too big to even start taking action on? And was there a moment when he realised that he had the mental strength to tackle anything? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Croix Sather. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Croix Sather such as: Croix talks about couch surfing his way around the world, and how he has found inspiration by building connection with strangers across the world that he never would have dreamt off. Why all success is built through years and years of perspiration, hustle and courage to go after your dreams. So many people stop themselves before ever giving themselves a chance to get going. Why entrepreneurship is such a hard venture to undertake, and how Croix is now more often than not reluctant to tell people to go for it. and lastly…. Why entrepreneurship is such a hard venture to undertake, and Croix is more often than reluctant
