Entrepreneur Success Stories By Join Up Dots, Motivation, Confidence, & Business Coaching To Start Your Online Careers

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has really turned his life into the one that he wanted by taking bold actions. He is a traveling entrepreneur, the host of the Travel Like A Boss podcast, the founder of the Johnnyfd travel blog and probably is waking up with a smile everyday of the week too. As he says "I was born in San Francisco which is an amazing place to live, but wasn't the best place to grow up. I battled with fitting in, self image issues, and trying way too hard to be someone I wasn't throughout my childhood. After graduating from University of California I started working a corporate job, but wasn't happy. Something was missing and I didn't know what it was. In 2006 I discovered the self help scene which ultimately lead me to the 4-Hour Workweek and gave me the courage to move to Thailand in 2008 and pursue my first ever real passion, which was scuba diving. I began being a traveling entrepreneur when traveled around the world from Australia, Borneo, all across South East Asia to the Caribbeans working as a divemaster and scuba instructor but in 2011 I decided to focus on my second found passion, Muay Thai kickboxing. After six professional fights and years of living as cheaply as possible, I turned 30 and realized I couldn't even afford a plane ticket home if I wanted to." And that is where we will start todays show. So what do you do when you realise that you are at a crossroads in your life and you've got nothing in the bank to ease the way to future adventures? And now he is living the life that he wanted, is it always a happy day in his life, or does he still have moments of "Really, im not sure Ill want to be doing this for another ten years"? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Johnny FD Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Johnny FD such as: Johnny shares the reasons why he was glad that he experienced corporate life in California and nowhere else as he already was living the dream and it wasn't good. We talk about the period of flatness when the challenge of building a traveling entrepreneur business is replaced by success and you think "This should feel better than it does??" Johnny shares the moment when he realised that he needed to get away from the naysayers and doom mongers in his life or he would be stuck forever. and lastly…. Why Johnny is so glad that he documented so much of his journey, so he can always go back and see the realism of what he went through.

Todays guest joining us on the show has over the past 19 years, he has helped 1000+ coaches, consultants, service providers, and entrepreneurs master the fundamentals of sales and close more High-Ticket sales over the phone. He is known as the “The One Call Closer,” and is one of the most recognized and in-demand sales trainers in the high-ticket space. The tactics and ideas that he uses in his One Call-Closer private training are techniques that took him 20 years to develop and that less than 1% of the population even know about. These techniques are also derived from him spending over 10,000 hours on sales and business trainings, courses, and seminars. Now that sounds amazing, and of course we all will be thinking that he was born with this talent. But in fact his journey to becoming a successful sales trainer didn’t happen overnight nor was it easy. He went through a lot to get to where he is today. He started his passion for selling at the young age of 13 where he got his first sales job as a junior sales assistant at the local furniture store. It was from that experience that he wanted to pursue a passion for selling and started this never-ending pursuit of sales improvement. Up until today, he’s read over 396 sales books and has spent over $128,563 on sales trainings and seminars. During his time at college, the Dean of Special Resources told him that he should drop out of school because of his diagnosed struggles with ADD/ADHD. It wasn’t the first time he was told to give up and quit and it will not be his last. However, that didn’t affect him and he wasn’t willing to give up. And that is always the key to success, persistence outworks talent, skills and anything else you think is holding you back from your future. So what is it about selling that lights him up inside, when most people struggle with this bigtime. And where do we go wrong, blinking at the pivotal moment of quoting our price, or something else? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Kayvon Kay Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Kayvon Kay such as: Kayvon share his belief that there is no single path to success, and everybody has to create the path that is right for them if it is truly going to succeed. Kayvon shares how so many people get confused with the systems against the strategies. Use the webinars, funnels, an email optins to create a deeper connection with your clients before you ever hope to sell. We discuss Kayvons childhood, and how his fathers advice could have held him back from the future that was waiting for him. Thank god he ignored him! and lastly…. We discuss how Kayvon spent $125,000 on self development and still failed - the reason was he hadn't proved himself to anyone, not least himself.

Being A Solopreneur Can Be Crap, and in today's show David Ralph talks about the difference of working in corporate land and the life of the solopreneur. Everyday we talk about taking your life to the next level, taking control and building your own business. It's brilliant. It's Fun. And we wouldn't do anything else even if you paid us a million pounds a second. Well, actually if you are paying that amount of cash we will do that...but only for a minute and no more no matter how much you pay us. But what happens when its not good, you are ill, and things aren't going the way you want then what then? Well this is the dark side of being a solopreneur, and more often than not you haven't got another way out. You just simply have to suck it up and keep on working and delivering what you have promised you would deliver to your clients. Very different to being in corporate land and working for the man. Then you can simply phone up, cough and splutter down the phone and leave it all behind for a day watching Netflix. So how do you do the same in your own business? Is it possible to do? Well, we actually dont think it is, no matter how much people tell you that they can do such a thing. You have to be involved as it is your business, and especially if it is a business that you are the face off. They need you, they deserve you, and god knows they are going to get you. So in todays show David Ralph talks about his own struggles with sickness, and why he still has to soldier on to make it all work for him. As we say, sometimes being a solopreneur can be crap.

Branding And Marketing Work Hand In Hand. Get One Right And The Other Naturally Follows

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has battled hard to get to where he is today. From almost dying as a child, to doing a series of less than inspiring jobs he worked at fine tuning his talents to become the premier branding expert for clients such as Jon Bon Jovi, and Clickfunnels founder Russell Brunson. As he says "My clients call me the “Brand Doctor” because I’ve got a specific, proven process for getting you the high-impact branding that lets you emerge as the “go to” leader in your industry. It’s a lot like how a medical doctor would help a patient heal: You see, it’s about more than just “know, like, trust.” When you have expertly crafted branding, you have an audience that will sustain (and help you grow) your business for generations to come! And then, it’s time to toss away the stress and start enjoying your business again. Doctor’s orders." So how did he get to this point where people are coming to him, instead of him chasing them everywhere. And why is branding so important to the success of any business, but so many people miss the point completely? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start join up dots with the one and only Mr. Henry Kaminski Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Henry Kaminski such as: Henry shares how his lost many family members and friends as his mindset had out grown theirs, and why he is ok with that. Henry really believes that you have to go through the grind at the beginning of the business to truly understand what the business is all about. Why you must focus in on profits and bringing income into your business to then reinvest back into your work as quickly as possible. and lastly…. Henry reveals how Customer Satisfaction, Quality Work and Exposure has become the touchstone to his work, and why it was the gamechanger to everything.

Anton Kraly Have created an ecommerce master plan. If you want an online business then this ecommerce master is for you

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a guy who has gone through the kind of journey that makes Join Up Dots what it is. He was raised in Long Island, New York where he grew up as a regular, middle-class guy, but even as a child, he was dreaming of doing big things. After graduating from college, he started his first business venture when he bought a cookie delivery route. Yes, he spent his early 20’s bumper-to-bumper in NYC selling baked goods. The cookie delivery route was his first business but was neither the “lifestyle” nor “business” he imagined. Eventually, he grew tired of the tiny margins that came with selling cookies. He knew things had to change if he ever wanted to make serious money and gain the freedom to travel. So he started asking the bakeries to fulfill the orders for him instead. He set up an online cookie shop where customers could order cookies and the wholesalers shipped the orders for him, efficiently freeing up time while increasing profit. At this point he thought the drop shipping model had real potential, especially back in the early days of the internet. That’s when he took a chance and tried selling higher-ticket items online. He began selling items such as athletic equipment and furniture, finding immediate success. “I remember telling my parents when I made my first high ticket (for about $480) sale online and they said “You’re going to be rich!“’ He has now built a passive million dollar business in only four short years, with a $29 investment. And that ended up being all the encouragement he needed to keep working hard. With just a $29 investment on an eCommerce hosting package, Kraly made $300,000 in his first year. By the second year, he had pulled in $680,000. The next year, he hit seven figures when his store did $1.2 million in sales. The next year, he sold his first million-dollar business. The best part? He only needed to spend around 20 hours a week working due to the passive qualities of a drop shipping business. But for our guest, it’s not all about the money. When he learned how to make a lifestyle business, he achieved a level of freedom that changed his life forever. After experiencing first-hand how amazing that kind of life could be, he made it his mission to pass on that knowledge and help people find their own success. So what is his life like now, humble guy to rockstar, or humble guy to still humble guy? And where do people go wrong when starting a business, as it certainly seems that investment should not be the problem? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Anton Kraly. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Anton Kraly  such as: The moment that his life changed forever when he realised that selling a $100 product is just as hard as selling a $1,000 product...so why not go for the bigger piece of the pie. Anton gives great advice by suggesting we should all find an industry where products are not being sold by others but you know there is a market waiting for them.....seems obvious?? Anton shares the story of investing $25,000 into his baking route and realising that he hated it after just one day....and of course the steps he took to rectify that issue. and lastly…. We delve into the seven steps that anyone can take to start an ecommerce business, and believe me you will want to take notes for this piece of the show.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a lady who connected with me with the words if you like the cut of my jib" as we say in Ireland. And it was job done, get her on the show. You see not only is she being hugely authentic and not talking the way that businesses try to conduct themselves, she is speaking the language of the receiver and that is so important. So it's with little surprise that I find myself today interviewing a master on Social Media who started her online journey back in the days of the internet being powered by a donkey on a treadmill. Yes, when she started in 1999 there was no Google, No Facebook, not even a tweet or a twit to be seem. She was certainly ahead of the curve, and now has positioned herself as the go to expert for anything social media In fact she is sharing all her expertise with her new online program, “Learn Social Media Like a Pro”, where not only will she give you a step by step process to achieve the traction you want, but you also get lifetime access to the Private Facebook Group where she, along with all the other social media bods will be sharing best practise and helpful support on events as they happen. So why did a lady from Ireland first start her internet career down in Sydney Australia, and was it by complete chance or simply a step on the master-plan of life? And does she agree that the best way to use social media correctly is to make it more about YOU, YOU, YOU and less about ME, ME, ME? Well let's find out as bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Maryrose Lyons Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Maryrose Lyons such as: Why the world of business is changing from B2B to B2H - Business to human, and how Maryrose is making the most of dealing with this change. Why you shouldn't be everywhere on Social Media but you should focus on reducing the amount of content but increasing the quality of the work you do. Why Maryrose finds being a parent as a real advantage to keeping her hours at a premium, as you can often get caught up with work, work, work which is just not good. Why not having a plan is ok, as you find the real gold when you are wiling to work within the cracks of life more than where everyone walks. and lastly…. Why three is the magic number in so many regards to building a business, especially in regards to choosing a customer. Maryrose shares how she works - and this is gold.

What I love about being the host of Join Up Dots is the ability to share endeavour, hustle, and commitment by people from all walks of life. Listeners that are sitting in an office, or a home studio creating their lives work. Working hour upon hour, struggling through the workload, making connections across the world, and believing that they will make it all work. But how do they do that? How do they keep on making the decisions to create, inspire and go for the dream when they have no track record to back it up? Well it is quite simple they go for the passion and forget all about the money, and the rewards. They dig deep into themselves to find the passion to go for the dream. But how do you do this? How do you find the passion when you are surrounded by naysayers, doom mongers and the type of people that try to kill the passion before its even started? Well in todays episode David Ralph talks about a few people who have connected through Join Up Dots and are showing that passion for the task, and how they are doing it. So sit back enjoy and we hope to hear from you as you share your work, passion, content with us so we can share it with the world. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man building a business around video and in particular testimonial driven video. What does that mean you ask? And even if you aren't asking I am going to tell you as that is my job as a professional podcaster. Businesses thrive on service, and the goodwill provided by customers who are delighted with the service that they have received is the greatest gift they can get. But how many people actually ask for someone to record a video that they can place on the website, or email marketing telling future customers about their experience. They don't as it feel like an intrusion into the whole customer experience, and subsequently miss this powerful boost to their business growth. Enter our guest today who says "Because of time constraints and the fact it feels awkward asking customers questions about yourself on camera, we understand 100% why you haven't made as much headway as you would like with video testimonials. We get it! But you could be missing out on sales every month as a result! Working on traffic, content and lead magnets is great for building your list. But it's the end of your funnel, not the start, where you really make your profit. Once you have a prospect on your list, you need to prove you can deliver the result they want, or they'll never reach for their payment card. Boom testimonials are needed.... So has he always been involved in video and the production of video? And where do people go wrong when starting a new business in an environment that feels saturated already? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Mike Lavin Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Mike Lavin such as: Why its such a great idea to keep your marketing as simple as possible to solve one big question for your customer. Dont try to solve too many as it gets messy. How a shorter name URL is suggested to be a much better route to take than a longer form version and the reasons why. Mike reveals why his second business has flourished due to the learnings of his first business.  and lastly…. How a young lady has created the greatest business I have ever known on Fiverr....although Mike didnt seem as keen as I did!!!

In today's show we answer a couple of questions that have been posed over the last two weeks by listeners across the world. We love answering questions and always either deliver a personalised response directly or hold them back for shows like this So lets get on with them without further ado David, loving the show and your energy. I would love to know do you ever worry about anything at all, as you dont seem to show any sign of anxiety even though it cant be easy running Join Up Dots on your own as you revealed in episode 876. I struggle with anxiety so it's a constant battle Cheers Gemma Manda, And now we answer our second question which has been posed by a gentleman in the UK who is wondering how to get past that stage in business building when you get bored and think its not worth pursuing with. Dear David I have been working through your back episodes and now have listened to every single show. I cant believe that I now have to wait for your next episode to be released. I have been thinking of starting a business but no matter what I start working on, after awhile it seems like a waste of time and I stop and start something else. Im sure, as I have hear you say on many shows, that sometimes you feel that you were going in the wrong direction so how did you refocus your energies and create the amazing Join Up Dots? Ps second question have you ever thought of creating a YouTube channel? Thanks for everything Mick Screen, Portsmouth, England

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who has such a story of overcoming work issues, personal issues and what the hell do i do issues, that its a delight to have her on todays show. As she says "I grew up outside Chicago and come from a family of employees. I was the first in my family to move from the midwest, and the first to leave a steady paycheck and become an entrepreneur; and I swear it caused my Mom to have to start blood pressure medicine with worry! I was always taught to work hard, get into a good college, get good grades, get a good job, and save toward retirement. I met my husband Mike on vacation in Hawaii in 2001 and moved to San Diego. I joined a small boutique financial planning firm where my most well known clients were owners of Ford, Chuck E Cheese, and Vinturi Wine Aerator. In 2005, Mike and I bought our million dollar dream home, and less than a month in (we hadn’t even made the first payment yet, and Mike lost his job). So, my income and hard work became more necessary and critical! Despite sitting at the dining room table with some of the most amazing business men in the world, I just wasn’t enjoying it any more! In 2008, I had a minor stroke. I was VERY lucky, but the stroke shed a lot of light on my life and priorities. I had my stroke on Sunday. I was in the hospital until 8 pm Tuesday night, and was back at my desk by 8 am the next morning. I had put SUCH a high value on being dependable and achieving, that I didn’t even take any time off to rehabilitate or just take a breath. I knew this life wasn’t working for me, but I was the primary breadwinner for our family, and we were counting on that steady paycheck." And that is where we will begin this episode of Join Up Dots. So how did she go from this point and create her own image of success, leading to a life that she didnt dread every morning? And does she look back and think "What the hell was I doing? Why did I push myself through such punishment" Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Amy Mewborn.
