Join Up Dots Podcast

Media and getting noticed in the media is a hard game to crack. However my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who spent over a decade working in an environment that ultimately left her looking for a new future (although with the media skills to make that future happen) Starting her career at News 12 The Bronx after leaving Ohio University with a BA in Public Affairs and Journalism she worked her way up through the ranks in television. She performed the roles of Reporter, Producer, Host, Web Editor, Fill-In Anchor, Media Relations Specialist for ABC News, CBS News, NBC News the list goes on and on. All the time her confidence was soaring, her experience was becoming broader and broader and her future was waiting. As she says "I worked as a TV reporter for a decade who was pitched numerous times a day by publicists. Most of the time, I didn’t read more than two sentences of what the “PR person” sent. What they sent was too long, didn’t have anything to do with what I covered, wasn’t newsworthy, didn’t relate to the geographical area I covered, and the list goes on. They all wanted a free commercial for their client. Because of this, I decided to leave the news business and do that job - but better. And she has certainly done that, becoming the owner of Media Maven, a full service public relations firm providing services in: Media Relations, Media Training, Still Photography, Video Production, Social Media, Writing, Blogging, Event & On-Air Hosting, Branding, Website Design, Graphic Design, and Search Engine Optimization. If you want to grow your personal brand in the right way, then this is the place you come. So did she need every bit of her ten years experience to get to where she is today, or could she have cut corners here and there? And what is the scariest bit of becoming a business owner, the doing, or in fact the thinking of everything that you need to do? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Christina Nicholson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Christina Nicholson such as: How she managed to hold back from kissing David Beckham, and why she feels that all British David's are super hot!! Why it is so important to be as specific with your conversations with your customers as you could possibly be...the more niche the rich you will get. Why it is so important to understand the nuts and bolts of everything you do in your life, before delegating that part of the business to someone else. and lastly…. Christina recalls the moment that changed her life and that was the moment when she decided to stop caring what people thought about her. Total game changer

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who has been a entrepreneur since 1982, and is an expert in online development and helping companies develop the people side of their business. She is co-founder and President of Performance Support Systems, a global software company based in Virginia, where their products are used by leadership coaches and consultants as well as internal learning and development professionals to help managers become more effective leaders. There is one truth in my mind, that someone who develops all the leadership skills whilst climbing up the ladder quite often finds those skills very difficult to maintain. Is it the isolation that causes the issues, or perhaps the climb that wears them out? Well whatever it is our guest will have the answer I'm sure. She and her business partners have worked together for 25 years, and many of their clients and resellers have done business with them for 20 years. She understands what’s required to build the loyalty and commitment that lead to repeat business and referrals. She takes pride in getting feedback like this, which is from a reseller who’s worked with her company since 1994: “Performance Support Systems is the epitome of the client-centered, high-integrity, high-support company with world class products. You could look for a lifetime and not find its equal.” So strong relationship building, high level customer service and a commitment to build the people and not just the business is the ideal way to operate.....or is it? Does she look back at her career and think "Wow, home run every single time"? Or, instead has it been a gradual climb, or struggles, mistakes, huge failures and everything else that entrepreneurs have to overcome? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Meredith Bell. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Meredith Bell such as: Why she remembers being a serious child and how she taken steps to bring a lightness into her life and work that wasn't always there. Why we have to be aware of the ego in our business that can often take of us from the track that is right for us. Why Meredith loves passionately talking with clients, as much to find out about their own business as her own. Value always comes first however. and lastly…. Why a binge watch on Netflix is something that could be a good thing for so many members of the entrepreneur club, if we only allow ourselves the chance.

Yoga is great for the core strength of a body. Yoga is also great for the mindset of a person. So lets find out how yoga can be made into a thriving business. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who deserves to be on this show, as she is one big collection of dots. And the kind of dots, that although difficult to deal with at the time turn out to be the true gifts in ones life. As she says “Sometimes life lessons are right in your face waiting to happen to you if you just surrender to the call. But it took me a long time to get into the position where, my passion had finally fallen out of the sky and smacked me in the face hard!” And this she found in the form of Yoga, and she then created her dream business that is going from strength to strength. Providing what her clients want, her family want and of course what she wants too. As she says “I have been a entrepreneur for 20 years I know what it feels like having to create your wealth! But I also knew that your health & inner strength matter more in this adventure of self mastery! Being a entrepreneur is all about Self: Mastery, Discipline, Awareness, Confidence, And Worth etc. You have to believe then apply the gift to create the Magic! In between the “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda”, I became a Yoga Instructor, Holistic Health Coach, owned a MMA Promotion Business in Atlantic City with my husband (the last one was the stress factor). “ Which lead to her being the Founder of Down Dog Wellness, as she craved a way to create a bridge between work stress and life, enlightening awareness daily. So did she always have the desire to create such a business, or was it in direct result of her four years working at New Breed Fighters, dealing with cage fighters and the entertainment industry. And is the right business a pleasant experience, or does it still have days when you want to stay in your bed and let someone else deal with everything? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Kerry Morgan

SEO

SEO is on the table today. And how to make SEO front and centre of every business. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who seems to me has found his thing in life. The thing that makes him bounce out of bed with excitement and enthusiasm. He is the CEO of Kansas City Website Design, who work with clients across the world building websites that not only look great, but also operate brilliantly too. Alongside his team, they work hard to make sure that the SEO element which is so important to gain Google rankings is built into the design to ensure visibility. As he says “Internet marketing is a lot like NASCAR racing. You need a fast car and a talented driver to compete and win – you can’t have one without the other. I build high performance websites and drive them to the top of the major search engines for my clients with organic search engine optimization and pay per click advertising management services. My approach to web development is laser focused on return on investment. I have a Contrarian view of website design which many of our competitors find distasteful, perhaps even blasphemous: Great web design is a commodity.” As is his passion for the task. And that is one side of what makes this guy perfect for Join Up Dots, as although he is now performing in a way that looks like it was a master plan right from the beginning, im sure we will find that just wasn’t the case. As his journey has taken him all over the world, He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has lived and travelled extensively in Asia for over ten years, based in Taipei, Taiwan, with stints in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong and now lives in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife Vivian and twin sons, Ely and Ostyn. And my favourite fact that in a way shows so much about how the guy operates, but he may be the world’s most successful SEO Internet marketer that has never had an active Facebook account. Love that fact, as it proves that there are many different ways to go about building success, and more often than not the best way is to simply do your own thing and create your own path. So what is about the online world that makes him scream out “No No No, that is never going to work…come and speak to me!” And what is it about web design that excites him the most, the creative element or the behind the scenes mechanics of it all? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Phil Singleton Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Phil Singleton such as: Phil shares his story how it took a real miserable job for him to truly assess what he wanted to do in life. But now he considers it a true blessing to have that experience. Why the ability to control your own life and hours is so vitally important to Phil, and why he could never go back to working for someone else. Why so many people create scatter gun approach to SEO and marketing. However everything you do must find it’s way back to the central hub otherwise it dies for ever. and lastly…. Why Phil has to spend a lot of time focusing his clients time-frames and expectations re SEO. It’s not a quick fix, takes time to come to fruition, and takes money to achieve.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a a guy who it seems is a born entrepreneur with a fascinating story to boot. Which makes him a perfect guest for a show like Join Up Dots. Growing up on the Shetland Islands – the most northerly tip of the UK, his first taste of entrepreneurship was running a small Dropshipping business whilst still at school. At 14, he used to buy electronics from China and sold them on eBay whilst building his first ever website at 14 years old, which still gets sales to this day! Leaving the islands at aged 18, he knew University wasn’t for him and lucky enough to be accepted into the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy in Manchester. As he says “The academy was an incredible experience – one in which I was pushed out my comfort zone on a daily basis, whether that was pitching, networking or just having to work incredibly hard. Things that are now a normal every day thing for me now – but certainly weren’t back then! It was in Manchester I launched a corporate well-being company called Alba Fitness, where he used to place personal trainers into corporate environments (such as call centres) to run corporate fitness programmes. However it really started to come together for him, when he realised that the trainers were generally terrible at marketing themselves. Secondly, he was reading a book called the 7 Day Startup – a book all about (you guessed it) launching a business in 7 days. On June 21st 2015, he finished the book. On June 29th 2015, Blue Cliff Media was born. He offered social media and community management services at the beginning but eventually carved ourselves a nice wee niche in Facebook advertising. The business continues to grow and have some amazing clients all over the world. So looking back on his life on the Shetland Islands, was it a blessing or a hindrance to his entrepreneurial venture? And is he where he wants to be in his life or simply on the first rung of what he can now see is possible for him? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Gavin Bell Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Gavin Bell such as: How Gavin managed to get his business up and running as a small school boy even buying and selling belts on vacation Why networking and pitching his business is such a huge part of his business strategy. You have to get out from behind your pc! Gavin recalls the moment when he decided to pivot from his business Alba Fitness, and learn from what it had given him (or more often that not didn’t give him) Why FB ads are an amazing way to grow your business, but you have to let then run before seeing the results. Its all about data after all. and lastly…. Why it is so powerful to show your successes and failures to the world. Reality is today’s marketing strategy that works.

Digital Agencies have become big business for my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man with an amazingly unusual road to where he is today as a digital agency expert. Not least, as I discovered that his first job was a gravedigger at a Pet Cemetery, digging graves for Fido and Felix, and many other beloved pets who had used up their extended lifelines. But certainly his career might have seen dead and buried, but in fact it was just one of the big dots that has lead him to where he is today. Digging around the internet, spying on the competition and bringing the five steps of lead generation to life for his clients As the founder of Digital Agency School and the CEO of the marketing agency GoBeyond SEO, he believes that there are five stages that all businesses need if they want to floruish in their markets 1. Identify your ideal client 2. Research what works in your market (i.e. “spy” on your competition) 3. Craft a converting message and foot in the door offer 4. Build a funnel you can leverage 5. Analyze the data and optimize And this systems appears to be working wonders, as even though he started his agency with no experience, no marketing education or any connections in the industry he is certainly rocking and rolling. Now he wants to help other marketers launch their own agencies so they can build their ideal career & lifestyle and I suppose legacy. And isn't that what life is all about, helping as many people as you can to get their dream, and in the process getting your own one as a result. So how did he start Digital Agencies if he had no experience in it, and still make it a success? And does he look back at the time when he used to read the newspaper over the radio to blind people as useful in anyway to where he is now? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brian Saemann Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brian Saemann such as: Why the skill of anti-selling is such a powerful concept in business...and what is that? Quite simply the more that we tell someone that they can't have it the more they will want it. Brian tells how he had to work two jobs for a year and a half until he had the money and structure to start his new business (even after being pushed by his wife) Why Brian feels that all businesses, especially in the beginning should thrive on old school marketing techniques as these are so much easier to understand and will make money quicker. and lastly…. Brian shares the mistakes he has made both financially and timewise, which although disappointing, have led him to where he is today.

Money, money, money as Abba sung can be amazing. But what happens when it controls you instead? Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free podcast is a man who calls himself a rockstar, and with very good reason too. No he doesn’t strut around doing the Jon BonJovi return,or perhaps he does. Instead is he is a rockstar in regards to his methods for money management, and can help us all get out of debt, save money and therefore retire at a young age. As he says “I grew up in small town America and now live in the big city of Dallas, Texas. I’m an early retiree who gets to work because I want to, not because I have to. If one of your goals is to do the same, I’m here to help. My mission is to educate, empower, and entertain people from all walks of life by helping them experience real breakthroughs in their lives through hope and financial freedom. My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that you can put to work simply and immediately in your personal life. ” Now that all sounds amazing doesn’t it. And what makes it even more amazing is this guy wasn’t born with an inherent skill to make money, keep money and grow his stash of cash This guy was someone who as he says “I went from a money moron at age 22 to self-made millionaire 13 years later” He has made huge mistakes in his past, but has learnt from them. He has worked at filling in the gaps in his education to become a master of those mistakes. And now with his platform, and newly released Podcast “Financial Rockstar” he is rocking and rolling and loving life. So what was the moment when he realised that things couldn’t keep travelling on a one way journey to broke-ville? And is this something that can be done easily, or is it a case of sacrificing every bit of comfort and niceties in your life? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Scott Alan Turner Show Highlights During the show we discussed such indepth subjects with Scott Alan Turner such as: How Scott believes he could not have got to this point of success without the stumbles and falls he made financially as a young man. Why it is so important to work out where your money is going, so you can start to grow the areas where you have the greatest monthly shortfall. Why it is so important to work two jobs whilst you build at last six months of savings to ease into the world of entrepreneurial adventures. And lastly……… Why he sold his business for a handsome profit and knew within two days that it was time to get going again. A life sitting on a beach, sipping cocktails was not for him.

Online Income anyone? Well my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who went from delivering pizzas for $8 an hour to creating a full-time online income in 1996. As he says "I created my first web business online from scratch in 1996. Within just a few months I was earning a full-time online income and quit my last dead-end job of delivering pizzas for living. Within 2 years I was being asked to share at some of the earliest internet business conferences. This business was eventually sold in 2004. I retired for 18 months before the itch started again to help other entrepreneurs with their online funnels and systems." And now in the past 20 years, he has personally helped thousands of clients set-up profitable Internet Lifestyles in hundreds of different markets through both his private and group coaching programs. He has been called one of the grandfathers of Internet marketing and was one of the first online marketers to demonstrate the power of email, generating $96,250 from one email to his list in front of a live audience. Now he spends his time helping small business entrepreneurs attract high quality clients, spot conversion cracks on their websites, and earn a big income even from small email lists. As he says "Way too many business owners accept long hours and stressful work as the only way to make it. It doesn’t have to be that way. You can have a great income and have a full life as well. Being a workaholic isn’t required…and it’s not even healthy. My motto is Earn More, Work Less, and Enjoy Life!" So back in 1996 the internet was a shadow of what it is today, so is it easier to achieve success and earn online income now or harder because of these changes? And what does he think comes first "The amazing idea that will change the world" or simply to turn the computer on and start dabbling? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Terry Dean Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Terry Dean such as: Why Terry sees Confidence being as one of the first hurdles to overcome when growing a business. You have to believe that you can succeed before you ever get a glimpse of what you want to create. "I have this audience what can i sell them" should be the first thing that people ask before starting the process of product creation. However very few people actually do this. Don't ever be nervous about speaking to people online or offline. Feedback is vitally important to the success of a business so get out there and start talking. and lastly…. Why nothing should hold us back from creating a business. Use the tools that are available to us across the web and start trying. You wont get it right straight away, but you wont ever get it right if you don't start.

Entrepreneurship is in the blood of todays guest.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a young Creative Entrepreneur committed to changing how we talk about self-awareness.

After living through some intense trauma as he was growing up and a near death experience when he broke his neck playing sport, he became obsessed with healing himself and trying to understand why people hide from the world and from fear.

After dropping out of Med School to follow his dreams and build a business that teaches what he has learned to others, he is now running that business working with universities to train their lecturers, schools to train students and hubs to train their entrepreneurs.

He also works with people individually from trauma survivors who struggle to sleep right through to millionaires that don't love themselves and feel unworthy.

The process of is always the same but the unique perspective a person will take on that process is always different.

As a person he is dedicated to experiencing joy and helping create as much of it as he can in the world.

When he is not helping people eradicate suffering from their life and quitting their job to chase their dream, he can be found in the gym, reading about science and history, or talking for days about the NBA and human consciousness.

So did he need the rough times in his life to really blast big in his life, or was this just part of his journey?

And when did the big dot occur in his life, that really showed him the path that he is travelling on today?

Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only MJ Fitzpatrick

Self Esteem can hold anyone back, and my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who when you read his professional bio seems like so many others out there today He is an artist, entrepreneur, & CEO of a holistically focused, multi-million dollar software company called Simplero. He is passionate about helping online business owners do exactly what brings them most alive & is currently bringing all of his gifts—including music, spirituality and personal growth—into an exciting new video show called The Calvin Show. Similar stuff. But then read the personal from the heart stuff and you can see that this guy is very different in many ways. As he says "Fifteen years ago, I was completely shut down. I had really low self esteem, and a self worth at minus a billion. Every breath I took I felt like I was stealing the air from people who were more worthy than me. I felt like I always had to produce in order to stay above board. It was a never-ending struggle. I was emotionally completely shut down. My head was all that mattered. My feelings were just a nuisance that most of the time I had no connection to. To my mind, my body existed to ferry my brain around. I remember watching the movies once, and there was a very powerful scene about love and loss. I felt something that I recognized as tears pressing to come out. And even though I actually wanted to cry, I just couldn’t. That lasted until I was in my late thirties. Only then did I really start to open up. There came a time where I cried. A lot. It felt great. I had so many unfelt emotions stored up inside me. Meanwhile I was a struggling entrepreneur. Always wanting to be successful at any cost. If I weren’t successful I might as well kill myself. I thought about it many times. That balcony looked tempting. I remember getting into coaching and personal growth, and thinking “I want to do something with this some day”. But it was always about being successful first (at something else). Without the success I had no worth." So how has he crossed that bridge from trying everything with little success, to finding the things that work the best for him? And does he look back and think, "I could have done this so much quicker if I could only go back in time?" Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Calvin Correli Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Calvin Correli such as: Why men are so unwilling to show their emotions in their lives, and what a stupid premise of holding ourselves back from letting go. How he came about creating the company Simplero, and the steps he took to bring the company to fruition. Why he believes in a principle of surrendering to life and just allowing life to guide him to what he wants to do. and lastly…. Why Calvin takes the time to allow the space in his life to allow the good things happen. Limiting meetings and outside distractions to give the freedom to build success.

Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free business podcast interview, is a man where you think where do I start? This is a man with three distinct areas of his life, which he calls his key stories. One being an explorer, one being an adventurer, and one being the start of his entrepreneurial life. When he was in Berlin back in 2006, he was like all of us, and was in a bit of a funk. He was studying computer science, but had no idea how to make a living from the subject that he was learning. And we hear this time and time again from people across the world. You start in a world of confusion, unsure of anything, even what you are doing at that time, but that is ok. Even though throughout your life you may have times when you are lost and unsure of your next move you only have to do two things. Gain as much knowledge whilst you are in that position, as there are gifts in your confusion. And then secondly say “Yes” to things, to put yourself in new experiences where those learnings start to make sense. And that is what our guest did, as without a clue to his future, a friend phoned him one day and his life started to change forever As he says” I got a call from a friend who’s hobby it was to use an old press ID card to sneak into expensive conferences to network and eat free food. He said: “You need to come to the Hyatt Hotel, there is a Ruby on Rails conference and the food is amazing”. “Ruby on what??” he replied. It was a fairly new programming language back in 2006. Free food sounded good though, so an hour later he was standing at the buffet and filling my plate with heaps of tasty salmon. A recruiter standing next to him, who had paid $1000 be there, asked if he wanted a job – working with Ruby on Rails! He pretended to have some experience and accepted this offer. From that moment on, while studying, he worked 2 days a week programming in various startups as a freelancer, all thanks to his desire to eat fish.” And that is where we will start today’s episode of Join Up Dots, even though I have no idea myself where this conversation is going to go. So does he still have episodes of confusion in his life, or is it now a seamless journey of experiences and success, as he travels around the world inspiring others to create a life on their own terms? And does he look back at his life and now see gifts in the dark times when he didn’t have a clue, which powers the belief to keep moving forward in his life? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Fabian Dittrich.

Relationships rock and my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is rocking and rolling and quite simply it seems loving her life more everyday....due to relationship building. And it's not a surprise as during the show I am sure that you will agree, she is on the path that is right for her. She is a leader, author, motivational speaker, trainer, and coach. And has over the last few years helped tens of thousands of individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations effectively identify their unique purpose. Finding the thing that they do better than anyone else, and then bringing that value piece to the world. After building her education through the Life Of Hard Knocks, she understands what it takes to overcome insurmountable obstacles, in business and in life, while in pursuit of your purpose as anyone who knows our guest describes her as an experience. She is as close as a human being can ever be to a human doing. As she says "What I do is simple. I find an idea that's different and valuable, and then build it with a team. Swiftly, and relentlessly. I do this by a rare process of how to fit people together, that goes far beyond just connecting them. I have built several businesses since my early twenties and learned that in business and in life, “Relationships Are Everything." And now she has put this system all in a form that's easy to learn and apply: The People Catalysts And with her new podcast, her thriving coaching business, and of course her speaking profile soaring everyday....it certainly appears that as she says people are all around us so lets use them. Let's find the skills that we don't have. The passions for a task that we need. And see the results come in. So was this always part of her plan in life, who like most people did she stumble over this process several times before seeing it as the gold? Transformation is an amazing life changing concept, and my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who has lived a life of transformation.

With an inspiring story of hardship, pain and an emergence as one of the best thought leaders in the world today After coming through tremendous challenges (including drug addiction, anorexia & depression), she became a recognized national leader in her field as a registered nurse, speaking at international health conferences, being nominated for a special regional health award for her national work in training doctors & nurses throughout New Zealand as powerful change agents & was a finalist for the New Zealand Emerging Speaker of the Year in 2013. She received high accolades for her work as a national project manager with her work being featured at national conferences. Which is all very powerful stuff, but doesn't excite me as much as the moment in her life when she felt she was on the wrong path. The ladder she had been climbing was on the wrong wall, as despite a thriving career, she then let it all go to pursue her life calling of empowering billions globally to wake up and deeply own their power. She founded GameChangerLive, her 2-day highly acclaimed transformational workshop which is run through Australasia & South East Asia, and her three month advanced breakthrough program, GameChanger High Performance. And now it seems that she can't stop pushing the bubble of comfort that she found herself in, in fact we all find ourselves, to take bolder and bigger actions. So does it all come down to the simple moment of responsibility? We realise that we are the only ones that are responsible for our own lives, so have to take the action? Or is there much more to making a life exciting and empowering? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Kate O'Brien Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Kate O'Brien such as: Why she was willing to post naked photos on her website and why social media is such a world of fake news nowadays Kate shares how she came to the realisation of what she wanted to do in life, and the steps she took to make it happen (even having her husband pound the streets in a suit and tie) How Kate can see that her early healthy issues have become such a huge positive in her life and actually showed her the way to where she is today. and lastly…. Why it makes so much sense to share risk around in your life. Yeah make things happen, but dont burn every bridge that you have to make them happen.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lifestyle portrait photographer and image content creator who works with high-level entrepreneurs and thought leaders of various industries to produce high-quality, highly-captionable images that present informational, entertaining and inspiring aspects of their brand to their followers. More than just a photographer, our guest sets his clients up for success beyond the portrait session by coaching them on how to best leverage their image content for their websites, social channels, blogs, publications, advertisements and various other needs. But you can certainly see a path that has joined the dots amazingly well, as after leaving New York-Hunter College with a BA in Media Studies, he freelanced as a Production assistant for HBO, whilst continuing his studies to gain an MFA in Television Production And then for over 17 years worked as a television producer, and as a portrait photographer expert on several NBC Universal daytime talk and reality shows. So the dots lined up for him to go out alone and create his own production company, which he did in 2014, as he says “While my business began as a full-service photo/video studio, drawing upon my 16 years of video production experience, I now focus solely on serving thought leaders and entrepreneurs by providing them versatile, high-volume, high-production value image content that can be used for all of their content needs. There’s a lot more to my sessions that simply taking pictures; before, during and after each session, I help direct my clients so that they can maximise value from our session. I help them identify their content needs, determine the types of images we must capture to fill those needs, and then execute the game plan.. Its nice to live the dream daily” So was this a passion he persused through education and career, or like so many of us, just started to doing something until the passion was found? And what is teh hardest part of building his business, the sales and lead generation, or acually the content production? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only John DeMato. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John DeMato such as: How John recalls how he got to the point in his life where he found that his internal compass was pointing in the wrong direction, and the steps he took to getting it where he wanted to point. How John manages to draw out the real character and personality in a photo, and why he feels it so important to do that thing. Why John can now see that through his business clarity comes confidence, and with confidence comes value. Its a real circle of development that you have to go through. and lastly…. We find out why John talks about his life as being within the matrix and outside the matrix and why he would never go back to where he was.

Think you know fitness? Well todays guest is a lady with more energy, than the most energised person you can think off. Yep, think of the person you know the most who runs, leaps, and bounds out of bed earlier than anyone, and they will look like a couch potato compared to this lady. In the last few years she has completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, Adventure racing in Borneo, Cycled London to Paris in 24 hours, Cycled London to Amsterdam in 48 hours, Completed The 3 Peaks Cycle Challenge (cycling 430 miles and climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK) in 3 days, Learnt how to become an alpine mountaineer, Climbed Mont Blanc And that is just some of the things that has challenged and pushed her onwards to greater and greater successes in her life. I got tired just reading the list out. But like most of us that end up doing amazing things, her life going into the adult working life was anything but remarkable. During college she performed many various tasks within an office environment and due to her boundless enthusiasm and passions for the tasks, moved through the ranks quickly impressing everyone that she met, wherever she worked. Focusing her talents on culture building, start-ups, marketing and being the best that she can be, she thrived in the corporate world. But it was when she moved away from the world of the grey suits, that she has expanded her impressive resume of doing the things least expected and doing them better than most As she says “I believe that it is through challenging ourselves that we stretch our limits, break down barriers and realise we can achieve far more than we think. We raise the bar of what we expect from ourselves, develop confidence, resilience and drive and go out to achieve more across all areas of life. This is what has happened to me and I’m on a mission to give you the inspiration and tools to be the very best you can be and get the most out of your life.” So how did she manage to overcome the fears that hold so many of us back as we look to having rich and fulfilling experiences in our lives? And how has she managed to become so supremely fit, in so many different areas, and still keep on having the passion for more? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, the one and only Sophie Radcliffe. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics such as: How as a child she always had a passion for being dirty, running around and wanting more than she was getting in her life. The fires were always burning within her. Why she states “That you have to make bold, inspired decisions, and have courage if you want to change your situation” Why she thinks it is madness that so many companies allow their most inspiring, motivational and driven members of staff to just quit and walk away…….and I am in total agreement of this. How we must allow ourselves downtime to recharge both the body and the mind to come back stronger. We are just human batteries after all. And lastly…… Why everything in life is simply a case of taking babysteps towards the future you want. If you do something everyday you will make progress.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who was one of the first people ever to join up dots with me on the show. Back on episode 11, we discussed his journey from a position where he was diagnosed as clinically depressed, overweight, with limited motivation, but knowing that he had to do something and do something fast. And at those points in ones life when big changes are needed, so the big questions were needed to be asked. Our guest did that by asking "Why Am I Here? and then started taking action. His professional life began flourishing, his personal life improved, and after creating his own company, publishing his first bestseller “SEO Secrets”, presenting to crowds of interested folk who flocked to hear his message, he knew it was time to reevaluate once more. He increased his focus on self development and happiness, and created his first “Life List” which quite simply he states “Was the best decision he ever made!” Setting himself a target to achieve 150 things by May 25th 2017, he set off on an adventure which is nothing short of inspiring. He lost 60 pounds, ran a marathon, sold/donated all his possessions until only owning less than 100 things, paid off all of his debts, became much more spiritual, visited all 7 continents, reconnected with friends and family and became happier than he had ever been before. And with items such as flying a plan, being on a chat show, seeing Mt Everest, getting a six pack, and living in the wilderness for a month, being just a few items on the list you can see it is a stretch of belief, as much as perseverance. But that is just one side of his story as his professional experience is also a wow too. His expertise as a SEO expert, has been cited in Time Magazine, NPR, NBC, PC World and has been translated into over 10 languages. He has spoken at Yale, the University of Washington and numerous conferences around the world. According to analytics data, his written work has been accessed in almost every country in the world. So where do we start...with the culmination of the bucket list adventure, or how he has gone from a demotivated guy, overweight and lost to a man who seems like he hits a home run every-time he swings. Well let’s just start by bringing onto the show to start joining up dots the one and only Danny Dover. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Danny Dover such as: Danny tells us how he has managed to find the time and money to achieve his life list, and you will discover it is more to do with subtraction and prioritising than anything else. Danny reveals the big wins from completing his Life List (and they certainly what I was expecting) but so valuable to all of us. We discover the big fact of how long it takes to get a six pack, and whether he has managed to cling onto it after achieving that aim. and lastly…. Why we should all consider the power of attempting monthly life-lists of small achievable things occurring locally. Breaking lifes routine can be the quickest way to a life that is a wow!

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is one of the most sought-after executive leadership coaches in the world. Her extensive cross-cultural expertise spans 14 countries, six languages and hundreds of companies. She has written thousands of articles, columns, speeches and presentations. She is the author of two books: Trust Inc and Thoughts Spoken from the heart, where she brings expertise to her work that is grounded in behavioral and psychological principles along with 30 years of experience. She has worked across a wide range of industries and organisations within corporate, nonprofit, government, and business development domains, encouraging, pushing and setting guidelines for achieving high and consistent performance And now after decades of coaching powerful executives around the world, our guest has observed that leaders rise to their positions relying on a specific set of values and traits. But in time, every executive reaches a point when their performance suffers and failure persists. Very few understand why or how to prevent it. And she has bound up all this knowledge within the covers of her new book “The Leadership Gap” what gets between you and your greatness which is coming out shortly. So of course its great to be great, but how do you push past those feeling of doubt and insecurity that all high achievers struggle with in their lives? And did she work to get to this point in her life, or as so many guests have revealed…it’s been a pleasant surprise to her, that her dots have led her to this point? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Lolly Daskal. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Lolly Daskal such as: Why we should realise that when things are hard, the more focus we put in the easier things will become. It may seem the harder route but will get us to where we want to be quicker. Lolly explains her theory that we all should just go for what feels right in your life, which is where success is waiting. Trust your gut to make the right decisions for you. Why so many people fail to reflect on their own lives due to their busy schedule, until someone reflects it back on them by their own failures and struggles. and lastly…. We discuss how the imposter syndrome can hold us back in our lives, unless we accept that perfection wont ever happen, just get on with it.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is lady who believe me we all need to spend time with. Whether it's to make more money in our lives, to convince our bosses that we should be working at home in our PJ's, or to get someone to climb out of their PJ's and Whey Hay!! then it's all about being persuasive. As she says " I have used the science of persuasion to get ludicrous discounts from suppliers over and over and over again. And I didn’t even have to take my clothes off ;) Bag giant-ass contracts that everyone in the company had given up on, because I knew exactly which buttons to press. Influence people through written word…emails, blog posts, pitches or break-up letters…I did all and won most. I am also the office go-to person for softening down or toughening up the tone of critical emails, negotiate better timings, better rates and better treatment… often without a precedent. Now the interesting thing is when she decided to start an online business in April 2014, she told no one. "I didn't want to tarnish my reputation as a consultant, even my husband just knew I was starting a site, he didn't know what it was. I didn't even use my full name in the beginning, because I had a respectable Google presence." "I was intrigued by this idea of making money online. Consulting is trading dollars for hours — you get paid for what you work on. I'd always wanted to try something different and if I want to travel to visit family or take a vacation or travel back home, with an online business I can take my work with me." So in just three years, and with a site that was less than finished, she has hit the ground running, and now can teach us all how to make money online with none of the icky sales stuff that most of us get hung up by. So was three years about right to get her to where she is today, or does she look back and see many corners that she could have cut off in the timeline? And when did she feel comfortable enough to slam her name all over her work, sprinkle typos, and talk about "Toilet stuff" more than anyone I have interviewed before? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with with one and only Bushra Azhar Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Bushra Azhar such as: Why flattery is so important in business, as it makes both people want to be involved in working towards something that is mutually beneficial. Why Bushra never pitches unless she is invited to pitch to the other people. You have to be accepted into the persons life before ever attempting that for it to work like magic. Why being relate-able is such an amazingly powerful statement to make, which so many people online fail to understand. Be like the person that you are attracting and you are half way there already. and lastly…. Why it is so exciting to get your first online money no matter how much it is. And the best thing of all....those seeds you planted just keep on working.
