Was it a linear path to where he now stands on the stages of the world revealing the strategies to scale businesses like a huge company even if you are a solopreneur, or small business? And what holds people back from true success, not building a team or building the wrong team around their business? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Sam Mallikarjunan Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Mallikarjunan such as: Sam shares how he stumbled across the last remaining Blockbuster in Alaska, who are thriving due to a focus on human interaction. Today’s guest joining us on the Join Up Dots podcast business interview is a lady who claimed fame in a very unusual way. But most excitingly for a show like Join Up Dots she hasn’t set her stall out to allow that initial success to define her but has gone on for bigger and bolder things. As the creator of the Purse Process in 2013 her new adventures started in earnest when she started the process of being a bit nosy in ladies handbags. And digging around to share how the secrets of the stuff that a lady carries around with them in their bag actually defines them. Yes as her professional bio states “You see, I’m trained in ANTHROPOLOGY and ARCHEOLOGY, but I don’t much like digging in the dirt. You may have noticed everything about me has a distinctly FEMININE flair. I’m a girly girl from way back. In fact, when I was three years old I had a complete meltdown simply because my mom came home with white panties for me instead of pink. So as you might imagine, the working conditions of an archeologist doesn’t exactly suit a girl like me, so I had to get creative about how I’d apply the vast amount of knowledge I spent several years, countless hours, and paid beaucoup bucks to acquire. Which is amazing to me to see applied in action. The creativity to bring to the world something interesting, unique and career defining. And it certainly was the case, leading to media performances, TedX talks, and a myriad of opportunities as the world started taking an interest in their day to day luggage. And now our guest is tackling even bigger things, leaving behind the success that started off her career in such a spectacular way. So todays discussion could start anywhere, and go anywhere which makes it so exiting to me. But if she knew she was so girly throughout her life, why did she enter into the world of Indiana Jones, Jurrasic Park and digging around in the dirt? And does she see that experience is just gained purely to be able to shape your own reality and creative an authentic life of their own? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only entrepreneur Danielle Watson..

In todays episode of Join Up Dots we look at Motivation and how to keep it, after a recent listener asked "David how do you keep motivated? I have many business failures which i started and then stopped. I just lose the motivation to keep going. Do you have any tips. Well here is what we consider are the best ways to keep yourself motivated, when the motivation is starting to depart. 1: Remind yourself of your goals. Usually before devoting time to any specific endeavor, we tend to make short- and long-term goals. Remember to keep your goals realistic, that way you wont be disheartened if you don't reach them. That doesn't mean you can't push and challenge yourself though, if you don't challenge yourself, then it's not really a goal. If you start to lose sight of your goals, then you may be less motivated than if you were always checking to see how much closer you are getting throughout the whole process. Keeping track of your goals and checking your progress can help keep you motivated day in and day out. 2: Make weekly checkpoints to track your progress. Everyone needs to see how they are keeping up with their goals if they want to stay motivated. If you see that you are on track or even excelling every time you check your progress, you will be motivated and happy that you are getting there. If you see that you are lagging on your goals, it may be the kick start you need to help get you back on track. 3: Make sure to reward yourself every time you achieve your weekly goals. This could be as simple as a bowl of ice cream after a long, hard week of working out or as rewarding as a trip to the spa for all your hard work. Whatever rewards will keep you going are the ones you should be giving yourself. 4: Give yourself breaks. Sometimes even the most determined people get overwhelmed. You may be burning yourself out, and a much-needed break might be just what you need. If it is a fitness goal, maybe take a three- or four-day rest instead of your normal one- or two-day rest. If it is at school, don't try to do all your work in one sitting, but stretch it out over the course of the day or week, if possible. 5: Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone falls short sometimes. If you fail to meet your goals for the week, take it as a lesson. Try to complete your next target before time, so that you can use the saved time to complete the pending work. This way you stay right on schedule even if you have taken a hit. It's not always about how hard you hit, but how well you can take a hard hit and keep moving on. Don't dwell on failure; just accept it as a human occurrence, and continue working towards your goals. 6:Watch and read motivational stories or speeches. Everyone deserves a great pep talk every once in a while. Stay elevated by watching YouTube videos of inspirational moments so you can suddenly feel a new sense of motivation to keep striving. Here are just a few example of easily-found inspirational media: Mary Schmich's famous "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" speech. Almost any Hollywood sports movie. Much rap music - "rags to riches" is a common lyrical theme. Historical stories of bravery or courage (see: Jack Churchill, Audie Murphy, etc.)

Software Development Expert Ajay Goel Shares His Story To Success In Google Chrome

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who is the classic side hustle entrepreneur, that grew his work into something life changing for him. He started Wordzen. which is a chrome extension and allows busy entrepreneurs to talk into a microphone and have their emails changed into error free, grammatically correct messages. Not as you would think buy some transcription bot, but by actual people who listen and bring the human element into the approach As he says “Reduce the time you spend on email by 90%. Have emails professionally written while you’re lying on your couch, playing with your kids, or walking in the park. Its not transcription, we don’t just type the words you dictate. We listen to what you’re saying, and then write a professional email to match your intent, tone, and the context of the email thread.” So it actually started as a side project, but now 3 years later, it brings in $1 million in recurring revenue. Which lead him, to develop what would become GMass! This was born out of the frustration. While recruiting writers for his other Gmail product, Wordzen, he was disheartened by how difficult it was to communicate with all of his writer prospects at once. He simply needed to inform the five candidates that the position was of the 1099 and not W2 variety, but to his dismay, he had to find each conversation with each editor, hit Reply, and type a personalized message. Boom another business was born So is it as simple as find a frustration and then bring it to market? Or does it take a lot more to build a business that works? And where does he see most side hustle going wrong. Staying in the development phase or something else? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only AJ Goel Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Ajay Goel such as: Ajay shares how he forced himself to learn as much of the process of chrome development as possible for three key reasons, which perhaps has held him back a little. Why he loves the Buddhist expression “The meaning of your life is whatever you are doing right now” We talk about how difficult it is to keep up to date with the latest developments in software and why this shouldnt frighten anyone tacking a new software role. and lastly…. Ajay reveals how amazing it is to see every generation have the same fear that technology is going to end everything good as they know it. A fear that is proved wrong time and time again.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who seems to have had three lives. One pre internet, and then two afterwards. When he was first booked on the show back in 2015, it was whilst he was high and flying with Unstuckable Now he has pivoted and is on a mission to help the world embrace the life of entrepreneurial ventures As he says “I’m on a mission to prepare people for the future of work. Work is fundamentally changing as we know it (and faster than most people think!) I’m sounding the alarm to warn people how to prepare for it. I’ve worked for myself for the past 17 years. I believe self-employment is the future of work. I believe it can be for everyone and not just a select few. You know what I’ve discovered is the most effective method for teaching people about business? Teach them first about the Life Skills That Matter before teaching hard business skills. I used to be chronically anxious and stressed out about work because it wasn’t satisfying, it wasn’t meaningful, it wasn’t making me financially independent, it controlled too much of my time and it prevented me from living the lifestyle I wanted to live. Sound familiar? Then I designed my lifestyle to work on my terms. Today I’m happily unemployable. So if you want to work for yourself, you need to learn about yourself first. You need to understand how to manage yourself. After all, you are the first resource of your business! So how long did it truly take him to embrace the entrepreneurial journey and 100% decide it was for him? And when did he come to realisation that it could in fact be for everyone, not just the chosen few? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Stephen Warley Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Stephen Warley such as: Why we should all pay more attention to the hours where our energies are at their highest to bring into the world our greatest work. Stephen says we shouldn’t keep asking permission for our lives, from employees, teachers, parents. Its our life we should all take control. Why so many people fail to look back at their younger selves to find the real clues as to how to design their lives going forward. and lastly…. How he used to be someone who couldn’t ever imagine would be able to work for himself…..and wow hasn’t he showed the world that he was wrong.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who was first introduce to me by a previous guest and friend of the show Tayo Rockson “Hi David”….he said “I had him on my show and he had such great pieces of advice to give. I am certain he would make a great addition to your show.” Well, how could i refuse such a connection, so lets give you some background on who we are going to be speaking to today. He is the founder of the Wintrip Consulting Group, a global consultancy in St. Petersburg, Florida where his mission is to eliminate hiring delays, so companies always have the talent they need instead of empty seats. During the past three decades, he has helped thousands of organizations like Bank of America, Boeing, Procter & Gamble, Randstad, and the Red Cross as well as small and mid-market companies, such as Aquent, Kohl’s, MAKO Surgical, and Valpak to make the right decisions. And this expertise has now been put into print, and is now flying off the shelves with his latest book “High Velocity Hiring: How to Hire Top Talent in an Instant,” being published by McGraw-Hill and through Amazon If that isn’t impressive enough then, for five years in a row, he has been named in the “Staffing 100” as one of the world’s 100 most influential staffing leaders, also making Recruiter Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40,” as one of the most influential executives under 40 years old. So when did he realise that getting bottoms on seats was a skill that he possessed and could build a business around? And what is the biggest mistake that people make when getting the talent that their companies deserve? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Scott Wintrip Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Scott such as: Scott shares his advice of how he makes the right decisions in his life, and if not what he does to then quickly make them the right decisions. Why Scott feels that he did his most remarkable work of his career whilst going through a heavy divorce with his wife. Why Scott feels that anyone who is getting into recruitment should get their recruitment education. Go work for a consultancy before ever going it alone. and lastly…. Scott shares his views on the only person that you can believe in life – yourself. Be aware if you catch yourself lying to yourself, as it can undermine everything that is possible.

Every once in a while someone comes along that you feel a strong connection to. It could be their spirit, their love for life, or the hustle they are putting into everyday they are on this earth. One such person is an English guy called Ross Menghini, you can hear him here when he was previously interviewed on Join Up Dots. This time however it is Ross who is grilling the host of Join Up Dots David Ralph on what it has taken to create the top show you are listening to today. They talk about a wide range of subjects that have taken them both by surprise when they started their entrepreneurial lives. From the hardship, the dark times, the financial struggles and the big successes. Ross does a great job on this show, and so it was a delight to be able to share the Life Design Diaries meets Join Up Dots in today’s episode. However to give you a flavour of this amazing guy, allow us to show you his backstory, so you will spend as much time as you can following Ross and his lovely wife Lucy’s adventures everyday. “In January 2018 we traded our beloved Manchester apartment, life, jobs, wardrobes and friends for 2 backpacks, 2 macs and 2 one way tickets out of the UK. Why? Not to find ourselves, not to run away from anything bad, & not be to be on the road living in hostels. More of a, why not! Neither of us are graduates, we both went into full time, very serious careers straight from school, so after getting married in June 2017, and falling head over heels whilst honeymooning in Bali, the idea of living and working from around the world started to develop. Our website and social accounts are both a chance for us to personally document, learn and share experiences from our journey. We are by no means experts, we have crafted a life which is right for us, we believe there is no right or wrong way to any of this… this is just ‘our’ way. Come join!” So without further ado let’s start joining up dots with the one and only Mr David Ralph, interviewed by Ross Menghini Show Highlights During the show Ross and David discuss such weighty topics such as: How even after a decade of publication Tim Ferris’s The Four Hour Work Week is still setting the inspirational spark in people across the world. David shares the moment when his life changed forever and he knew that he could never go back to working for someone again. Why it is so important to lose the ego and change the mindset when you want to start your own business. You can’t assume that you are the man right from the start. and lastly…. Why the 80/20 principle could potentially be the greatest gift that anyone can use when creating their own business, although most people ignore this amazing mathematical formula.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has spent nearly 20 years in continual travel around the world, visiting nearly 100 countries including Colombia, North Korea, Zimbabwe and Iran. Dropping out and leaving high school at 15 years old he never gave up his passion for learning, and enjoys reading over 100 books a year on topics such as finance, marketing, sales, and investing. He has lived as an Expat since 2002 making his home in Central America, South Pacific, Asia, the Arctic, North America, as well as the Middle East. And through these travels he has gradually found the thing that he is now bringing to the world and will base the bulk of today's conversation. Our guest believes people should understand that just because someone was born in one country it doesn't mean that they need to spend their entire lives there, and it certainly doesn't mean they need to keep their money and investments there…. Often there are huge tax advantages and economic benefits to building your business abroad. His mission is to help expats generate additional streams of income so they can travel the world freely and never have to worry about money again. So do people need to start with savings and then start travelling, or can they go today by the time they have finished listening to the show? And does he look back at early travel adventures when he was living from moment to moment as he didn't have a penny to his name? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mikkel Thorup Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Mikkel Thorup such as: Mikkel shares how from the age of twelve he was determined to leave London, Ontario and travel the world. He had the fire inside him. We talk openly as to the absence of luckiness in your life, there is only persistence and hard work that ever gets you near to looking lucky. Mikkel shares his hub and spoke form of travel, which makes so much sense in regards to seeing the world but keeping the cost down. and lastly…. Why the most important part of any business is the marketing. Before you start looking for clients buy the books that make them come to you.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has really turned his life into the one that he wanted by taking bold actions. He is a traveling entrepreneur, the host of the Travel Like A Boss podcast, the founder of the Johnnyfd travel blog and probably is waking up with a smile everyday of the week too. As he says "I was born in San Francisco which is an amazing place to live, but wasn't the best place to grow up. I battled with fitting in, self image issues, and trying way too hard to be someone I wasn't throughout my childhood. After graduating from University of California I started working a corporate job, but wasn't happy. Something was missing and I didn't know what it was. In 2006 I discovered the self help scene which ultimately lead me to the 4-Hour Workweek and gave me the courage to move to Thailand in 2008 and pursue my first ever real passion, which was scuba diving. I began being a traveling entrepreneur when traveled around the world from Australia, Borneo, all across South East Asia to the Caribbeans working as a divemaster and scuba instructor but in 2011 I decided to focus on my second found passion, Muay Thai kickboxing. After six professional fights and years of living as cheaply as possible, I turned 30 and realized I couldn't even afford a plane ticket home if I wanted to." And that is where we will start todays show. So what do you do when you realise that you are at a crossroads in your life and you've got nothing in the bank to ease the way to future adventures? And now he is living the life that he wanted, is it always a happy day in his life, or does he still have moments of "Really, im not sure Ill want to be doing this for another ten years"? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Johnny FD Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Johnny FD such as: Johnny shares the reasons why he was glad that he experienced corporate life in California and nowhere else as he already was living the dream and it wasn't good. We talk about the period of flatness when the challenge of building a traveling entrepreneur business is replaced by success and you think "This should feel better than it does??" Johnny shares the moment when he realised that he needed to get away from the naysayers and doom mongers in his life or he would be stuck forever. and lastly…. Why Johnny is so glad that he documented so much of his journey, so he can always go back and see the realism of what he went through.

Todays guest joining us on the show has over the past 19 years, he has helped 1000+ coaches, consultants, service providers, and entrepreneurs master the fundamentals of sales and close more High-Ticket sales over the phone. He is known as the “The One Call Closer,” and is one of the most recognized and in-demand sales trainers in the high-ticket space. The tactics and ideas that he uses in his One Call-Closer private training are techniques that took him 20 years to develop and that less than 1% of the population even know about. These techniques are also derived from him spending over 10,000 hours on sales and business trainings, courses, and seminars. Now that sounds amazing, and of course we all will be thinking that he was born with this talent. But in fact his journey to becoming a successful sales trainer didn’t happen overnight nor was it easy. He went through a lot to get to where he is today. He started his passion for selling at the young age of 13 where he got his first sales job as a junior sales assistant at the local furniture store. It was from that experience that he wanted to pursue a passion for selling and started this never-ending pursuit of sales improvement. Up until today, he’s read over 396 sales books and has spent over $128,563 on sales trainings and seminars. During his time at college, the Dean of Special Resources told him that he should drop out of school because of his diagnosed struggles with ADD/ADHD. It wasn’t the first time he was told to give up and quit and it will not be his last. However, that didn’t affect him and he wasn’t willing to give up. And that is always the key to success, persistence outworks talent, skills and anything else you think is holding you back from your future. So what is it about selling that lights him up inside, when most people struggle with this bigtime. And where do we go wrong, blinking at the pivotal moment of quoting our price, or something else? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Kayvon Kay Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Kayvon Kay such as: Kayvon share his belief that there is no single path to success, and everybody has to create the path that is right for them if it is truly going to succeed. Kayvon shares how so many people get confused with the systems against the strategies. Use the webinars, funnels, an email optins to create a deeper connection with your clients before you ever hope to sell. We discuss Kayvons childhood, and how his fathers advice could have held him back from the future that was waiting for him. Thank god he ignored him! and lastly…. We discuss how Kayvon spent $125,000 on self development and still failed - the reason was he hadn't proved himself to anyone, not least himself.
