Join Up Dots Podcast

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has been through a journey of discovery to get him to where he is today. Happy, relaxed and rocking and rolling After two decades of running a successful pharmacy practice and then losing it all, he entered a period of deep personal struggle. Each night he would walk along a country road hoping to find a few minutes of peace, but he ultimately discovered something far more valuable. What could you do if you had a simple plan to increase energy, get in better shape, and improve your mental and emotional health? You have more pressure on you than ever. With competing demand from work, family, friends, and our communities, it’s no wonder so many people are stressed, overweight, unhealthy, and exhausted. He felt the pressure, too. He sacrificed his mental, physical, and emotional health to the demand of his pharmacy practice until he discovered the medications he was paid to dispense often offered only temporary symptom relief and left people still suffering. He discovered that true health and happiness comes from finding balance in seven key areas, so he developed a simple plan anyone can use. In his new book, How to Live Until You Die, he makes it simpler than ever to unlock a healthier, happier, and more whole you, so today can mark a new beginning for your total health! So does everyone need to go through a dark night of the soul to become truly focused on what life is all about? And where does he see that people go wrong in their life, trying to do too much, or not actually trying to do anything? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Dr. Phil Carson. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Dr. Phil Carson such as: Dr Phil shares how he lost his business due to the downturn in the economy 2008, and the steps he took to get his life back on track. We discuss how the moto “Failure is not the economy of success, quitting is” and how it should be learnt the world over. Dr Phil shares the big but easy steps we can all take in our lives to feel better and healthy (without heading to the drugs) and lastly…. We find the secret ingredient that everyone should live by in their lives…..and best of all we have it in our lives already.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is an man who has quite a journey to where he is today. Many moons ago, he purchased a website that sold various popcorn goods. During this venture, he found a need to automate parts of his business and that need inspired him to create Spark Shipping, a business that helps eCommerce retailers self-operate their connections with their vendors Currently he automates millions of orders for eCommerce and retail entrepreneurs every month, which is enough orders to fill every seat in Fenway Park hundreds of times. Or, as as our guest would say, Fenway “Pahhk.” Or as me and most people from the UK would say....nope, never heard of Fenway Park Anyway what Spark Shipping does is to automate the communications between e-Commerce sites and vendors (warehouses, distributors, manufacturers, etc). The communications that are automated are: getting inventory quantities from vendors, sending orders to vendors and getting tracking/shipment data back from vendors. Spark Shipping sits between the shopping cart and vendors to get the data back and forth between them. So its alright having these ideas of "Wouldn't it be good if we could do xyz" but how do you get this off the ground? And was it plain sailing or a rollercoaster that gradually hit its stride? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Charles Palleschi Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Charles Palleschi such as: Why he feels its so important to understand all aspects of a business when you are the leader, to ensure consistency and productivity throughout. How he manages to balance home life and work life, especially now he has young children who want to see their Dad before bedtime each day. What he does to manage the difficult times in his business, when decisions need to be made that will lead into unchartered territories. and lastly…. The first steps he took to became the entrepreneur he is today, and what he would advise anyone of our listeners wanting to do the same.

The last time we had todays guest on the show was way back on episode of 371 of the show when we introduced him as a New Zealander that has started, built, bought and sold half a dozen businesses in a range of industries across two continents. He has hustle flooding though every vein, as he has powered himself to being classed as one of the most connected people in Asia, whilst enduring his fair share of painful crashes too! He was the owner of Fitness-Buffet a company delivering employee wellness solutions in 11 countries, and he is also the CEO of Entrevo Asia, a company that runs 40 week Growth Accelerator programs allowing executives and business owners to become a ‘Key Person of Influence’ in their industry. A company whose vision is a world full of entrepreneurial people solving meaningful problems. Now though in just a few years things have changed and he is now the Head of Asia for the Unity Group. A business focused on the simple As they say "Our function is to provide corporate finance, corporate secretarial, group legal advice and carry out the acquisitions process for incoming agglomerated businesses in three simple steps. 1. Create or source an appropriate Holding Company for the Agglomeration™. 2. Select mature, profitable, and debt-free businesses (a.k.a. subsidiaries) for the Agglomeration™. 3. Acquisition – under a special purpose vehicle (“SPV”) – of the respective subsidiaries by the
Holding Company through the issuance of public-listed shares in Holding Company to original
owners of the subsidiaries. As they say "Unity Group exists to enable entrepreneurs to scale and solve bigger and more meaningful problems. Their mission "To work with great entrepreneurs and change makers to scale their businesses, solve bigger problems and connect investor capital with those who can deliver the best results." Right this is serious stuff, so let's start digging around to find out more not just about this venture but also the man himself. How has he found himself creating more and more opportunities for himself without getting a serious case of burnout? And would he have seen himself doing this the last time he was on Join Up Dots, or does he just go with the flow and see what happens? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Callum Laing Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Callum Laing such as: How Callum overcomes the dip in the business process, that everyone has to go through when growing a business. Callum explains why he never invests in his own ideas....so he always tries to pre-sell the idea before putting too much time into it. Why it is so important to surround yourself with the level of knowledge that you need, but just can't gain yourself. Don't think that you are a master of everything. and lastly…. Why the value proposition is so important in every regard of growing a business. You have to work out how you can over deliver before you ever hope to start taking back.

In todays show David Ralph discusses the lack of personal development that he sees in the listeners to the show that he speaks to. David, talks to listeners across the world and when he asks them "So how many books have you read this month?" more often than not gets told "Nah, I dont like reading books to be honest" So where is the desire to find out more knowledge and become better at the thing that you can do better than most? Where are you getting the information from that can make you a category of one in your life, and be saught out by clients from across the world. 5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Personal Development Personal development is more than just working on talents you already have: it’s about growing, becoming more aware, and gaining valuable abilities that you can use to make an impact in this world. I always put it like this: If you’re not growing, you’re dying. Sounds extreme, doesn’t it? But it’s so true. If you’re not learning new skills and working on yourself as a person, life can get boring! Personally, I’m committed to take at least one course/ training program each year – whether an in person event or online program/ webinar. This has helped me make quantum leaps in my life, relationships and business. For example, this year, I took Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within (highly recommend going!), Marie Forleo’s B-School, Laura Roeder’s Creating Fame, The Art of Sales & Marketing training etc. Today I want all of you to do one thing for yourself. For your growth and development. For your future. Disclaimer: this may mean going outside. But that’s okay, because you’re ready to do this! You deserve to be your best self, always. It’s time to make an investment in yourself that will take you to the next level. Here are my top reasons why you should invest in your personal development: 1.You’ll make important new connections. Follow my ABC rule for networking and you’ll find yourself happier, more approachable, and with more opportunities faster than you can blink an eye: Always Be Connecting. Because growing your network means more than finding new people who can help you get where you want to go. Your network is your lifeline. It’s your relationships, your opportunities, and a support system that you can fall back on when times are tough. 2. You’ll gain confidence. The more skills you have, the more confident you’ll become. You’ll have more to talk about when you meet others, and you’ll become more certain of your own abilities and strengths. Own your greatness and live the exciting life that you deserve! 3. You’ll learn new things and grow as a person. Personal development should be something you take on for yourself. It’s more than just an investment in your career, it’s an investment in your growth, awareness, and identity. Every time I attend a training, I always get new ideas and inspiration. 4. You’ll gain marketable skills. Some great skills for you to learn regardless of your industry: photoshop, HTML, WordPress, Adwords, and advanced Excel. Other soft skills you gain by investing in personal development include communication, presentation, and decision making skills. They stand out to employers and could separate you from the hundreds of other candidates. 5. You’ll be seen as someone who takes initiative and curious to make things better. Though it shouldn’t be the primary reason why you engage in personal development, a lot of the courses, classes, and conferences you attend can be translated into experience on your resume. A well-rounded candidate has more than experience in their industry – they excel because they can draw on perspectives and learning that they have gained while developing themselves. My top tip for finding relevant and interesting events: visit www.eventbrite.com. Look for conferences, courses, workshops, and seminars that fit your interests, then take a leap and sign up! Or ask your friends and colleagues for recommendations. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. What courses/ programs/ training have you taken that transformed your life? What do you recommend and why? What is one new training you are committed to taking?

Navy Seals Are A Tough Bunch, But How Tough Is Life After Leaving The Navy Seals?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who has been on one of the most difficult journeys anyone can take. How to transition from a successful career in the US military to living a successful life as a civilian and top businessman. He served 23 years with distinguished Valor as a Navy SEAL, and during his military career he served in three wars, ultimately leading a team of Navy SEALs into Afghanistan in 2009 where he earned a Silver Star, Bronze Star with Valor, Army Commendation with Valor and his second Combat Action Medal. He was hand-selected to serve as Officer In Charge of the famed SEAL Sniper course from 2009 – 2011, and during his two year tenure, he transformed the sniper curriculum while successfully increasing both graduation numbers and shooting performance test scores. Now of course on Join Up Dots, we are all about the transition to business success. How do you find your thing when for many years you were doing what was expected and not what was truly inside of you. Well he is now the founder and CEO of Adamantine Alliance, a unique leadership and human performance coaching organization. He conducts training throughout the nation developing transformational performance results for various individuals, teams and organizations, using the skills that he had fine tuned over the past 23 years. Taking the seemingly disconnected dots of his previous life, to walk forward with confidence and passion into a new future? So when he was in the military did he start planning for what he was going to do in civilian life?  And when did he realise that his past was actually holding all the answers to his future? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr. Thom Shea. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Thom Shea such as: What he considers to be the five key areas of life and how he manages to balance time between them all. Why he loves nothing more than moving into areas that are unwinnable, due to the lack of competition and the excitement he feels.  Why social media is the only place that leaves him into a position of despair....so tries to keep out of it as much as possible. and lastly…. He hits with the perfect advice of "Dont ever find a way out, find a way through the problem."....how powerful is that?

Sailing Around The World With Your Family WIth Caspar Craven

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who really believes in going where the heart leads. At the age of 14 he launched his first business catching crabs and lobsters, and wow what a success. By the age of 16 he was exporting 1/2 tonne of crabs a week to Spain. Realising that catching crabs wasn't going to make an impact on the world, he then went to University and for the next 8 years worked in the corporate world - first as a Chartered Accountant and then as an Investment Banker at KPMG. In 2001 he returned to entrepreneurial life as an e-commerce entrepreneur, and over the following 15 years, raised money for, built, grown and sold businesses primarily in the technology sector. As he says "I've made mistakes. I've fallen over. I've got up again and carried on. I've had some great successes and some failures." which is of course what life is all about. But how do you take that feeling of...ok, things could go a bit wrong, but hey we can deal with it and have fun in the process too? Well he has done just that and in 2009, along with his wife he hatched a plan to sail around the world with his young children and spent the next 5 years planning how to make things happen. Now in 2016, he successfully completed his circumnavigation having experienced amazing highs, having to make heart-wrenching decisions and agonising lows on his 7-year voyage from idea to completion. He has been on a journey of discovery, not least to find the strength within himself to take forward and inspire others to take action and go for it. Now he is on a mission to be a truly inspiring leadership and team building speaker, giving actionable advice on how to achieve amazing results both professionally and personally, changing lives for the better. So how do you take your own passions and convince the family that its also a great idea for them to get involved in? And when it goes wrong, is there always an answer or sometimes just a different direction to the end goal? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Caspar Craven   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Caspar Craven such as: Caspar shares how he was advised by his father to become a chartered accountant as it was a safe job, which he can now see was never the right place for himself to end up. We talk with passion as to the delight he has found since he got back to land, taking people on a journey of discovery, through his talks, presentations and leadership lessons. Caspar reveals the moment when he sat with his wife and asked her "Is there more to life than this....and if there is, lets go out and get it" and lastly…. Why he now teaches his children to focus in on what they are most interested in and go deeper and deeper into the subject to find the path.

Work And Travel Dont Mix...Or Do They? R Michael Anderson Has Made A Success Doing The Work And Travel Thing.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who has had a fascinating and arduous journey to where he is today. He is the founder of The Executive JOY Institute, and specializes in teaching organizations, leaders, and individuals how to become even more successful through psychology, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness. Which if you have listened to episodes of Join Up Dots you will have heard similiar guests speak of such work. Where today’s guest differs is by the age of thirty-five, he had founded three international software companies, played semi-professional basketball (yes, he’s really six-foot nine!), and partied at the Playboy Mansion which sounds pretty amazing life affirming stuff. But our guest didn’t agree and knew that he wasn’t happy. Hard drugs, alcohol, a divorce, and a nasty lawsuit brought him to a low point where he needed to ask himself the big questions in life. A quest for change included earning a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the prestigious University of Santa Monica. And now he has taught leaders around the world, from Panama to the Philippines to Australia and Mexico, and has worked with a broad range of clients, including Microsoft and SAP So is he what he would consider to be happy now or still searching for something unattainable to him……simple contentment in life? And why does he think that we all set out on a path that appears to be wrong at the beginning even thouh the clues are all around us? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr R Michael Anderson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Michael Anderson such as: Why he now believes that coming to grips with our feelings is one of the quickest ways to achieve massive success in our lives……let the gut lead the way and its rarely wrong.. Why he had to make a decision to change his life for one of travel and freedom of location as he knew it would be the right one for him in the long term. We discuss why we fail so much through the education systems lack of inspiation and focus on failures…surely it should be strengths all the way? Michael shares the “Should or Fear” process of decision making in his life which he applies everyday. and lastly…. Why the Buddist prinicples of “It is” is such a powerful way to operating in a business. By accepting everything for what it is, we dont waste time trying to change things into what it should never be.

Building A Network Is Tough, But As Travis Chappell Reveals Its The Key To Fast Success

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is with a man who believes that your network is your true net worth. Yeah, we have heard this phrase many times on Join Up Dots, but what does it truly mean, and how can you build a business around it? Well his belief that it's not what you know its who you know started for him back in high school. He started to figure out that if he could land larger landscaping jobs, it would actually pay a much higher hourly wage, while being able to afford to pay a lower hourly wage to workers to help him get the job done faster. As he says "I remember sitting in class one day while managing two landscaping jobs that I had done nothing but sell and manage, but I was still going to make the same or more than the college students I was paying to do the labor on the jobs. That is when I realized the value of selling and creating customer relationships." And so as you can see the germ of an idea which had been there niggling away for quite a few years was already there, it just needed to wait until his dots began lining up. And now those dots are well and truly lining a path across the world. As the founder of the Build Your Network podcast he is bringing tips, to interviews and weekly advice to anyone looking to blast a path to the top. As he says "If you have ever wondered how to meet the influential people in your industry, if you have ever been frustrated because you just aren't moving forward in your career as quickly as you thought you would, if you don't lack ambition or a thirst for learning, but just can't seem to get ahead, then look no further than Build Your Network." So what is it about building networks that people struggle with the most? And does he see the same mistakes being made time and time again? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Travis Chappell Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Travis Chappell such as: We discuss how everybody is just six degrees of separation, which is why it is so important to start your network to give you the greatest chance of success. Travis shares his reasons for not going for the big love in your life, but  instead trying to find the love within a job that you may not like doing. Self development has been a big part of Travis' success, with masterminds, courses and conferences a huge but worth expense at the start. Are you ready to invest in yourself? and lastly…. Travis answer the big question that needed to be asked: Would he say he was a "Stalker or groomer"...you need to listen to the episode to find out the answer.

Today's episode of Join Up Dots is another one of the special ones that make me really proud to bring to the world. This is one of those shows whereby a listener of Join Up Dots, has taken so much action in their life, that they deserve to be blasted across the world. And today's guest is going to do just that, as he is a musician, teacher, singer, songwriter, father, husband and a man flexing the hustle muscle everyday. Starting his love for music when he was just nine years old when he started strumming the guitar, and by the age of 12 he had formed his first band “Splat” and was performing original music at school talent shows, ice-cream socials and private parties. And it's all these activities at such a tender age which have the opportunity to become more than something just to do. Actually becoming the first steps on the path to adulthood, and a life of their dreams. But what happens when life has different plans? What should you do when the future that you want is harder to come by than you expected? Where you find different ways of doing it, and today's guest has done just that. After recording his own album "Iowa Weather" he found himself in a slump. He was working all the hours god gave him, he was supporting his family like every father should, and his recorded album was not getting out to the world. And that is where we will begin today's show, as although I have never met him but I am proud to call him my guitar twanging buddy. So has he ever been a normal employee, sitting in a cubicle waiting until 17:00pm to arrive so he can scamper home....free from the days hassles? Or has he set out on on his path joining up his dots, with no plan B of any shape or form? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Dan Trilk.

Welcome to the Join UP Dots podcast, it's a delight to have you here. In todays episode we have based it around the following review that we received from a listener in the UK (and believe us we LOVE getting nice ratings and reviews). Now this one was quite profound, as it touched on something that causes us all issues at times in our life. How we should deal with negativity in our day to day life, and especially the type that surrounds us because of the work and the like. You know the people who aren't really bad, and miserable, just a bit lost and make it known to others. So anyway, here is the review Join up dots     May 9, 2018 by Seacroft18 from United Kingdom Just discovered these podcasts and listen to them everyday on the way to work. Inspirational people and an excellent host! Highly recommend. I am an enthusiastic person surrounded by fairly negative people and was finding myself dragged down. This podcast is excellent for focus and new ideas amongst many other things and most of all it gives me a lift! As David mentioned on the show, the best way to overcome this is to start replacing them in your life. Yes, its not easy, but it can be done and if you want to find an easy way start with looking at other influences and not just at the people. Start by reading more positive content, or listening to more positive podcasts. Surround your workspace with motivational quotes and images. Get your mind to start looking for the good in things (and people) more and more, and little by little you will realise that the negativity is something that you wont tolerate anymore. You will need to get rid of them in your life and will take active steps to achieve that no matter how difficult it is.

How To Start An Event Planning Business With Carolien Mertens

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lady who is helping the world of online ventures jump out of the screen and into live events. To date, she has planned over 100 events in a variety of industries, and served more than 10,000 participants. As she says "I started my career in events curating art auctions in a top European Gallery. Here, I learned the ins and outs of planning seamlessly orchestrated high-end events, and the art of “white glove” service for the upper class. Think event attendees like multi-millionaires with Swiss chalets and art-loving Middle East Sheikhs. After helping Fortune 500 companies like the World Bank and the World Health Organization, I brought my work online so that I can serve driven entrepreneurs changing the world." So all the experience that she gained in corporate land gave her the skills to create her own flourishing business. She was working everyday for someone else, but actually when the time came she had actually been working on her own self development (and getting paid for it) Now since two years ago, she has left her corporate job, got her first freelancing clients, closed the long distance gap with her partner,  moved to Italy to be with him then moved to Spain. It has been as she says "Quite a ride so far, learning new languages, making new friends, and building a business that’s 75% working from my local coffee shop La Gallofa on my computer, 25% traveling around the world to meet clients and run events. Today I’m in Amsterdam, next month I’ll cover Belgium, Spain and Sedona, Arizona." So how did she come up with the idea of event planning for herself, and now that she could make it work across the world? And where do people go wrong the most when starting their own online venture? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Carolien Mertens   Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Carolien Mertens such as: How she didn't have clue to what her life during University was going to be, but didn't care. She had total belief that her life would work out in a way that she would love. We discuss how Carolien has used her talents for observing to be a successful in her business, and why tapping into your natural talents is the best way to find success. Carolien gives great advice to everyone looking at entering the event planning world...and it is a lot more simpler than you might imagine. Carolien talks openly as to the process she took to define her ideal customer, and why it is vitally important to keep fine tuning this character as your business grows. and lastly…. Carolien reveals how she had an event that went badly wrong, and why she fought strongly to host the same event the next year. Brave or mad?

Should We Build Success Or Go Again By Resucceeding?

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who came to the show, and I must admit I thought “Seen this type of guy before” And then I dug deeper and my interest was grabbed. So here is the official bio, he is a Franchise Consultant and Sales Trainer at John L. Scott, one of the most successful real estate companies in the nation. After becoming his company’s top performer in sales, breaking records and selling tens of millions of dollars in real estate, he experienced his “moment of disgust” and came to realize the dark side of a successful life. With that in mind, he wrote Resucceed to help others master their mindset and find fulfillment in success rather than becoming trapped by it. No here is the bit that hooked me, as it is 100% different to what I talk about on Join Up Dots most shows. He says “Here’s the deal: Just because you excel at some skill or possess a certain ability doesn’t mean that is why you are here on Earth or what you should give your life to. That’s the lie of success, the trap and enticement of achievement. We reach a point of failure when we mistakenly become better versions of our achievement instead of better versions of ourselves. Interesting stuff, which to be honest I didn’t quite understand, so of course I had to ask him on the show to explain more. So what was the moment of disgust in his life where he realises that success wasn’t quite what he expected? And where do most people go wrong in his view? Not knowing what they really want, or focusing on the small things instead of the big audacious goals? Well let’s find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr James Colburn. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with James Colburn such as: Why most people in life get kicked off a treadmill and why it takes so much time to climb back on. Why it is so important to build a level of celebration into your business plan going forward. Dont just focus on the next goal. and lastly…. Building Confidence In Your Self Can Have A Huge Boost To Your Business

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who first appeared on Join Up Dots back on episode 103. When the show was just a baby compared to what it is today. Back then we discussed the unusual concept that sales is in fact a honorable profession. Wait I hear you say…surely I didn’t hear the words Sales and honourable in the same sentence? But our guest waxed lyrical about why he felt that it was in fact true, and why since 2000 he had focused his time, passions and energy’s in the world of Insurance Brokerage, coming out the other end hardened by the work that he was performing. As he said he was bloodied, bruised, kicked in the teeth, chewed-up, and spit-out. But instead of becoming cynical to this work, he instead developed a passion for helping others learn from his successes, mistakes and backstory. Focusing on four main areas, Sales training, Attitude, Connections and Loyalty he worked tirelessly to create success in his life. And now he has managed to take these concepts and turn them into a personal branding encompassing coaching, training, and keynote presentations across America. He is a man on fire, and certainly from my perspective seems to be in control of what he is doing, where perhaps the last time he was on the show wasn't quite the case. So how has he done this and still juggled the issues that comes with being a family man. And is he where he wants to be in his life, or now is he aiming for bigger and bigger things that he just couldn't have dreamt possible back in the early days. Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Brent Kelly. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Brent Kelly such as: Why there is a comfort level across the world, which has led to so many people to simply follow what everyone else is doing, which is a huge mistake. Follow the crowd and see your prospects diminish massively. Go your own way and get the rewards. Why Brent realises that their was a confidence issue in his life, which lead him to not fully grasp the value he could bring to the world. When this came together for him then everything became so much easier. Why the world is more and more looking for the "how long it is going to take" answer, whilst they should actually be looking at "How can I become good?" and lastly…. Why you shouldn't be worried about the comparisons that you see online today even though there are so many. Just get your head down and do the work.

Hello there good morning and welcome to Join Up Dots. This is the podcast which is the number one motivational podcast on Earth. So how are we doing. How are we doing out there. Are we rocking and rolling because it's Friday today, and some of you are going to be having an amazing weekend. Some of you are going to be working, but let us know what you're up to because at the moment as you're listening to this I'm actually on vacation. Yes. That doesn't mean that you can come to burgle my house, but I am actually on vacation. At the moment I am in the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom, a place I've never ever been before and I am exploring. So how are you doing. Are you rocking rolling. In the United Kingdom at the moment., we've had two Weird Weekends. Last weekend it was atrocious. It was terrible weather. The weekedn before it was lovely. It was shorts and sandals and I was walking about with my firm buttocks my by granite like Abts shown to the world now actually me buttocks I kept them. I don't know why I say these things but my mouth kind of runs away but my brain catches up. But by that time it's recorded and it's out there. I dont go back and change things so a couple of weeks ago was a couple of weeks ago. Was it last week it was last week wasn't it. We had Wales biggest podcast prize ever. Yep I was giving away a podcast prize of nearly four thousand dollars and I was going to bring it to an end this week but we're still getting people that are stumbling across the show and dropping in responses. So we're going to keep that going for another week or so. So if you know anybody out there who has got a business and I want to learn how to podcast and really have a successful podcast bringing customers and profile and exposure into their life then get them to order got to do is basically get the tune. I was gargling which I want to again I've got to go back and listen to the episode and tunes review send a screenshot through to us and we will put you in the draw and we've got quite a few we have got quite a few up. It's funny you kind of think yeah if you give such a big prize away then loads of people are going to do it but not generally you can sort of put some really nice stuff together and people dont release or get involved in it. This one seems to take in the imagination captured the imagination or take the imagination to read captured it. And now they are coming through you know five or six seven or eight days so there are quite a few people in the draw. But you've still got another week so we're going to draw that to an end and share it with who ever and I will teach them one on one me lie reaching out with my hands to actually teach you how to podcast. But today's show is about some very very quick questions and I sent out to our email list on one of the groups that I maintain and I just said you know one line questions just one line questions and I will bash them out like like rap and dowl you throw them at me and I will whack em back with my forehand straight to you. And we didn't get that many actually. We got five of them but are quite good questions. They're quite good questions. So this is going to be a very short episode which is all right because you got nearly a thousand other episodes join up dots to go back after all. And so we get to start with Eric Eric said. What to do when you dont know what to do. So I assume that he's doing something in his life and he's a bit confused and he answers to that. Eric I think is dont do anything. I now think that if you force it. Its not going to work you just get a kind of rubbish version of what you wanted in the first place and now Ive learnt from experience when I just cant think of what to do and I've just got too much around me and it's just kind of yeah your flicking from the screen to that screen or whatever you're doing it could be jobs externally when you look at your garden and you think he's a Parkerson much to do show like true that Bush or shall I go with the lawman's. Just walk away from it just walk away from it and you will gain clarity. It's that moment when your god you get that. You need to do again. You went a little bit like Jimmy Saville where we dont want to get involved in that kind of thing. I can do a good Jimmy Saville impression but my kids wont let me anymore. Did that only mean something to the people in the United Kingdom and not worldwide and its not a good thing. But you know when you can do something really really good and you cant do it anymore because that person has turned into a bad person. It was one of my best impressions. It was I'd been doing it for years but I won't do it. So you got quality control at the moment I've got quality control my chip has kicked in and has stopped me taking it too far. It's a burning desire. it's a burning desire. Okay so what to do when you don't know what to do is just don't do anything. Just walk away leave it. It will be there when you get back and then you can make a decision and while you are away down the Powerball. Walking through life Build's or or making love on the beach you can just think about things and you can think that's what I need to do. I will just do about one being and so I do a lot. Join up dots as we're building new products and building new email marketing lists and the new website and everything. There's times that I think oh my god i just dont know what to do. And so I dont do anything. I just walk away. Okay Eric. Hopefully that answers your question okay. How do you deal with disappointment. Right well its from Teresa now Teresa has asked her how do you deal with disappointment. I think with disappointment you have to be chemically designed to not suffer with disappointment. I hate I'm a very level playing field kinda guy went when I had something really exciting in my life on kind of a yeah that's good. If I achieve something amazing I dont really feel anything amazing. I just kind of plough on to the next spring so Im not a peaks and troughs kind of guys. So my disappointments arent too low and my achievements arent too high Im just kind of where I am which is kind of disappointing because sometimes you achieve something really good and people go. What you going to do. What are you going to do to celebrate and nothing noticed. Just do something else. Just do something else. So I do think chemically there must be some kind of imbalance that makes people feel more to disappointments and failures when other people. But certainly when I have had disappointments when I have had failures all I do Teresa is just being okay. I can learn from that now I've said this a few times on the show but there was a book that I read and is called The Secrets of a millionaire's mind and it was one line in it and this guy was desperate to be successful and no matter what he did he wasn't successful and he said to this millionaire you know can you help me. The guy said Yeah no problem at all. You dont know enough about the system you dont know enough about what youre doing and he was annoyed because he thought he was going to get that a key to the door bar upping with disappointment. You just have to look at it and go Okay I need to learn more. I thought I knew enough. I thought it was good enough but its not and I go back over joined up darts and I can see why products did work. I can see why sales funnels didnt work. Theres always more learning involved. So if you can take that disappointment and just think to yourself I didnt work but I need to learn I need to work harder at it then that's how I'd do it. That's how I do it. Okay. Oh let's clear my throat it isn't going to be the Garg or but I need to take some water. Right okay. What's your fave bit of the show. Right OK I dont know about the five bit of the show or the fave bit or doing the whole show so I am going to say the whole show was a bit of doing the whole show. I think it's connecting with you listeners beyond anything. When I get MSEE true unfortunately I get quite a lot of messages through Facebook or email and somebody has taken the time to reach out and told me a little bit about their life and their struggles and why the show has helped them or changed their life or just you know it's when somebody reaches out. I think that's my favorite thing because you realize somebody's listening your words are going into their ears and they're making a difference. And we we do a lot in your online environment doesn't come back to us is just like blast it out. Blast it out blast it out and you dont know really Avalon's sort of downloads and stuff that anyone listening and it is a truth that you get more horrible things said to you. Brenda nice beings people dont often say nice things but when you do. Thats my favorite bit when somebody has made the effort to send us an email or sent us a message on Facebook and we always we always try to respond. I love that bit. What do you hate about the show. Right I think thats the same person asking two questions but I will let you off on that. What do you hate about the show. Or to worry about the show. Right. The ad men and yeah two things I hate the admin theres a lot of admin and I could outsource it to somebody I should do really but its that kind of stuff that Im so good at doing it now I can do it really really quickly so I just spend a couple of hours and I sort of get it done. But you know when you think he's got to do that. That's a bit flat. And I do hate yes. Oh yes. Yes. Dont turn up if I am being prepared. Ready to rock and roll and record an episode and I get a message that just says something like I had one the other day running behind and then I had another one the next day running behind. And thats a bit rubbish you prioritize you get being sorted if youre going to do something youre going to do something and I hate letting anyone down. I did let down a guy the other day called Robert Randall. I do apologize again but I really do. He put some time with me it didnt sync up on my calendar so I didnt see it until he sent a message through to me saying Do you glued your pig. You said you want to be here and I will do. It doesn't all like that. Hes a lovely guy as well so thats how I fell. I fell in there because I wasnt ready for him I should have been there. So yeah I think thats a bit I hate most of all guests who are desperate to come on the show even at very last minute they cancel and I have done older research Ive done all the preparation by that time so thats a little bit rubbish. Okay and last question is from Jonathan where are you heading right. That is interesting because join up DOCSIS just turn four. And so it is more than a toddler now and the first year was very much about me. Recording shows and getting better at it. The second year was just trying to find better ways of doing it. The third year is more about me becoming the personal brand. So we are building join up dots TB because I was very aware there was a time that you would come across to the show. There was very little about me on it at all. More often than not that's what you listen to you listen to the person and the content and hopefully it connects somehow and inspires you through. So we are getting more me into it. We're going to be all joined up dots TV where you can send messages in and we will deal with them live on the show. We're also building a team of business experts that will fast track people so we will have web designers we have linked in marketing guys were competence coaches all these kind of people that are trusted and reputable and if you need help in your business you'll know that they're the right people to go for because I have actually tested a. I know them to be good. So I a kind of like a Google were building. So there's a lot to be had in the fourth year but of course you just have to do it as you do it and bring it on when you can bring it on. So that's where I'm heading. I'm heading more about myself becoming a personal brand more back to the person I was before I turned on the microphone where I used to stand up in front of people. So we're going to have as I say the TV when he and I have a YouTube channel we're gonna have all the kind of things that makes it more personable and hopefully allows you guys to connect with us and know that we're we're a team of people that want to help you were a team that is inspired to turn 1 million people across the world into a success story that will you know send ripples across the world. That's what we're aiming for and it's Augusta from a certain point so very short episode today very short episode because hey I'm not here until the next time we will of course be telling you who is the winner of the world's biggest podcast prize ever. I won't once again be doing my Jimmy Saville impression or it's a good one. It's a really good one. But I will see you again later. So thank you so much for being here and oh on the 14th of May 2000 an 18. At eight o'clock in the evening Greenwich Mean Time London time I will be doing a live podcasting masterclass. So if you want to find out more about how I'm doing it behind the scenes you can jump over to podcasters mastery dot com and just book a place and I will be there live in front of you showing you how it's all done and how you can create huge success as well so that's a 14th of May 2008. But until that time we will see you again look after ourselves. Cheers and well thank you.
